December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.

Off topic, but just returned home from a one hour drive with holiday music playing on the radio and I heard a song that would be perfect for Adam – showing his vocals and it builds and it is very emotional, especially now after the recent shooting tragedy. Woo Hoo! Another concert. Hong Kong and Shanghai will make 15. He still hasn’t got a Singapore date in the works and there’s bound to be one. Maybe OZ and New Zealand will get 3 between them. A few more European dates as well. It will be a nice-sized tour.

I’m going to try and be positive. But, I do think we will lose him here in the states. I think he will buy a house in London. I think he will live in Europe, tour Asia a lot, and visit the states, give occasional shows here, and maybe have some TV opportunities, maybe some movie opportunities, but, we will lose him. I’ve been saying this for a couple of years now.
I also think, and, please, don’t kill me, but, I do think a part of his “problem” here is our fanbase, us Glamberts in the states are older. Many fans are on the “attack” and protective of him, snowing anyone who says anything even remotely negative with tweets and other media barrages. We have all heard DJ’s and interviewers mention the attacks and fierceness of this fanbase.
I’m not saying it is US in this blog, but, we do know it exists. I think it is hurting Adam here in America. I don’t know if other celebs get the same responses. Maybe Bieber. I don’t follow anyone besides our guy. I think this over-protectiveness is hurting Adam. I think many many people scoff at his talent. I think people can’t get past “The Gay” thing. I know young guys in general don’t listen to Adam, and they will listen to Bruno.
At Thanksgiving, the college-age guys I know asked me if I still follow Adam. I just smiled and asked them what they think. They all looked at me like I was nuts. And joked that his music sucks. I asked if they had heard any of it. They said no. I asked if I could play TSP for them. They said “No F-ing Way!!!” And made a gay floppy wrist gesture. I was disgusted to say the least. And we have gay family members. They should be more respectful. Trust me, hosting Divas didn’t win Adam any young male fans, who are not gay.
This limits his audience to us 29 year olds and young girls, and some in the gay community. This country sucks musically. If you don’t put out crap and rap and hip-hop and use auto-tune you cannot sell music. If you are not young and country you cannot stay afloat here.
Adam will move and record and sell overseas. We will lose him here.

I am using Bruno as a comparison to Adam because he is the only other male pop star who I can think of that doesn’t do rap or country or hip-hop who sells, and is very popular with younger and older fans, and is on the radio a lot, who appeals to both male and female audiences.
The only female comparison is Adele. IMHO.
To me, the best, most cohesive, most listen-able whole albums of the last couple of years have been Adam’s, Bruno’s and Adele’s.
What do you all think? Am I being a downer after this past amazing week? I’m sorry. This is how I see it folks.
Hi mils…What you say makes perfect sense. And I still blame the AMA’s. This country cannot let it go. But I don’t think we will lose him to the other side of the pond. He just has too many roots here. A house in London? Maybe when he makes his first million.
Now if he gets a judging gig with x-factor or the voice over there, that is different. But I still think it would be temporary. Hollywood and/or New York I believe are where you have to be to get work.

From what I understood, Adam made 5 million on his GN tour year. And he had to foot many of the bills himself, so, he cleared 5 mil.
Vegas, yes, for sure. I’ve never been, not a gambler. But, I would go there to see him, that’s for sure.

And wearing my Calvin Klein jeans, with my Candie’s heels and my skinny gold belt and my disco shirts, yup. Blondie. Oh. Fun times were had….

His fanbase in US is older like a fanbase of everyone from Idol.You can’t change it. But his fanbase is big enuf to grant him sold out GN tour, right? No one will change minds of Radio PD. If Bruno would sing NCOE it would be played every fifteen minutes regardless of age of his fanbase.
Adam decided to be openly gay and it hurts him business wise but it let him be free in RL. It’s a trade off, right? He is happy in his personal life so be it.
There is really ugly blog about Cook BSC fans and Adam is being attacked over there too. Since I think that blog owner is cuckoo herself and BSC in her own way I don’t care, but BSC fanbase is BSC fanbase. Unfortunately they are the most vocal.

haha I heard this Doctor at work telling his students to listen to Pantera and Machine Head. That the words to their songs are something to live by. LOL. These are bands from the 80’s and early 90’s. He’s in his middle 30’s. I wanted to butt in with our guy but didn’t get the chance.
I think it boils down to what Adam wants. He wants to be heard on the radio. I don’t think we’re going to lose him. He will stay here until he finds the right combination.
It’s nice to have the overseas love and money, but he wants the recognition here in the US. He’ll get it eventually.

I really wasn’t going to say anything about this but since mils brought it up I will. Keep in mind this is the first time I have been around him in a party/M&G situation. I got in line and there was a group of girls and we chatted and sat together because they moved everyone up closer to the stage to fill in seats. (Pretty much Demi and Miley fans) Anyway, at the after party, after the “bump in”, I was standing around with them and they started laughing at all the “grandma glamberts” huddled around taking pictures. I said I like him a lot and you all do realize I am 40. I asked if they like him and they said yes some of his songs but it’s hard to think he is cool when your grandma likes him. I am paraphrasing. They asked me if I was a BSC Glambert, I said no but I am a fan. Then I started watching, no other celeb was being stalked like he is, I don’t know if they were the SPG’s or what but they were pushy and wearing the yellow and black. No one else had fan colors or anything.(That actually bothered me at the Queen concerts, we were there for Queen + Adam, not Adam and not Trespassing, wearing the colors and playing his music in line was really off putting to the true fans of Queen.) Yes, that is me back in Queen snob mode but I am being honest and I heard tons about it when I met with some of the Queen fan club people, it made them not want to give him a chance. I am not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings because I really believe everyone has the best intentions and love him so much and just want him to succeed (myself included). Oh, and by the way the gay thing was never even discussed.
Everyone else (celebs) was left alone or casually talked to but honestly I just never put much thought into the perception of things. But what can you do? At least he has fans and if he has to start out overseas then work back in here then okay. I think this helped his image (everyone thought he was very funny) and will get work from this!
I had a blast and have got to say I know the facial hair debate is hotly contested but it sure looks damn good on him in person!!!
