December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.
A lot of holiday cheer to look forward to!

Well guys, it’s been an interesting day here. This fan is still not working and recovering from hand surgery. We had our first snow today. We broke a record last week for most days without snow, something like 270 days.
I’m so glad Adam has been so busy, all the pretty helps me feel better. Even with the angst here today. Which I guess I started.
So, it is a looooong time until New Year’s Eve. Let’s hope he goes clubbing or shopping or something…..
Watching Voice finale. Is there any show left where Kelly C. Didn’t sing her latest single? That song does nothing for me.
Im going to keep this short. I posted the other day then deleted it. Adam is an entertainer, he will outlast all the others as long as he wants to sing. You cant expect the young kids to understand his voice or style of singing. They will as they get older. Some of these younger kids hate country, hate it. Country folks dont get pop or rock. And as I leave remember Adams words, “Im not for everyone”, but he is for us and we love him!

I have to agree with you and that’s saying something. I have disliked Miley for ages, but I had to admit I was blown away by her performance on Divas .

The crowd was very mixed but predominantly a younger group. On a totally selfish note: I don’t want everyone to love Adam…I’d never get a ticket to another concert!And what a boring world if we all thought and liked the same things.

Way too much sad and stress in my life right now but here it goes. As has been said, Adam is not for everybody, but he will be fine. I could only wish to be living my dream as he is. I want to enjoy him not be his Momma.

I also think it was the timing and the singles choices. I love Trespassing(single), but I think the better choice at that time would have been Cuckoo. It’s such a shame that Cuckoo, Shady, Pop That Lock, Naked Love and others will never make it to radio.

I disagree about the wrong single choices. I love BTIKM, and I can totally see why they released it, seeing as WWFM was such a big hit. Even my husband (who doesn’t like Adam), really liked it, and my daughter who likes a lot of his songs but not him, said it was the best single he had done. There is no reason why it didn’t climb up the HAC chart apart from the radio refusing to play him. Again with NCOE, perfect for HAC, if Bruno Mars had sung it, in exactly the same way it would have been played every hour and reached number 1. Its not the songs, its Adam and for this era radio just does not want to know.
The only thing I would say with his singles is he needs to release the videos at the same time as the songs, like every other artist. He releases them way too late, or not at all.
That picture from the Divas show just looks like a large group of happy, older women out for a girls night out, nothing they’re wearing screams Glambert…
As to toning down the dress/,makeup etc (re Reeses POST), he tried that on all those radio promos he did at the beginning of the year, and look where that got him, so he may as well dress for himself.
The poster with Aurea on it was from the Vietnam show, not the HK one, at least not the HK poster I saw yesterday.
Oh and re touring in the US, don’t really get why he’s not doing that. Hopefully he will at least do some one off concerts, even though radio refuses to play him, his label and management must know he’ll sell tickets for a live show.

And yes, Bruno is killing it with PR lately. He is everywhere, on every show, every network, has commercials, etc. I do love him. I just wish Adam had had as much PR.
Just curious, did anybody ever see an ad for Divas that wasn’t on VH1? Or in a magazine? I remember seeing commercials on many networks for past Divas, and seeing print ads in People, Rolling Stone, etc. Not this year.
Re Kelly C, Oksana – agree. But then Kelly as a live performer doesn’t either. Can’t watch her – that left arm attached to her side just pumps up and down like a metronome.

Those figures, riskylady, are very enlightening. Puts things in perspective a bit more.
And that promo is a hoot – Miley sort of spoiled the crowd-carrying effect by lifting her head a couple of times to see where she was going. Not as thrilled as some with that performance – the crotch grabs looked as though she was looking for the loo. But her vocals were much better than I expected – give her that.
Thank you riskylady for your post and for your’s HK Fan. It is so true that there is do often a crash here after a high. I am sure that there is a psychological term for it. I should go and look it up. I wrote something here yesterday but for some reason it didn’t post. Never mind. Basically, I am not worried about Adam. He is a smart, multitalented (and that is an understatement) entertainer. I want him to be happy and able to do what he loves and be with who he loves. He will find the way to continue doing it. And frankly, if he was the type to be putting out the sort of music that is appealing to the vast majority of the 14 year olds and the whole pop audience, I would probably hate it and would have never become a fan of his in the first place (think lowest common denominator).

Thank you riskylady and HK fan for your reality checks! What I think of the “big down” after big events is that when there’s so much information coming after those, it’s difficult to get quickly a big picture how it was and details start to worry many. So I am very thankful for those who have time and energy to search and put together all that real info! There will always be lovers and haters, but I think what surprised / worried so many is that no radio play was so strongly related to touring plans in US. But I am also thinking that it may be because of something else behind the scenes that we will find out later. I try to analyze less and flail more (smile). But still hoping there will be some concert dates for US and Canada.

My take on all of this is that we look forward to these events for so long with so much enthusiasm and energy. It becomes both an emotional and physical letdown when it is over and done — happens all the time in RL. I had family in from out of town for 4 days during Thanksgiving. I was so excited about their upcoming visit beforehand. We spent such a fun long weekend together that the day after they left I was so down. This really does seem to happen after most big events.
This Divas ‘aftermath’ is especially difficult because we really don’t know when the next time will be that we see Adam on a TV screen or stage here in the US. We know he will be out of the country for several months. I know I am happy for Adam to be given the opportunity to ‘tour’ in these other countries. A part of me is selfish in that I want him here close to me on my TV and on my stage. Hopefully, we will receive videos that will keep us going during this time. I am also thinking positively that maybe, just maybe, something will pop up here in the states relatively soon. Things always do seem to pop up where Adam is concerned.

Wow! Reading yesterday’s posts and y’all are nutty if you think Adam is leaving the US. Where is he going to go? UK? Where his cd ranked outside top 10 in it’s debut week? Europe where he’s barely known? Eastern Europe or China where he can’t speak the language and the culture is oppressive?
He is staying in the USA for goodness sakes. He might try New York. Part of his problem is that he barely registers there and a bit of bi-coastal appeal would help. But further? No way!
If US is like Canada, Sauli probably has to renew his visa this Spring, after two years, but I can’t see a problem if his income stream is coming from Finland. It’s GNP plus to have individuals who bring money from outside the country.
