December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.
A lot of holiday cheer to look forward to!

Choosing a photo for the monthly threads is never easy. However, it’s his most recent look that is getting attention. Since it may not last long, I thought that most of you would enjoy the look from the Mnet Awards – fierce, defiant, always unpredictable Adam.

Enjoy the chat! Happy Holidays!

    Huh? Double post……

Forgot to post this BEAUTY of an interview with Brian May:

Furnace guy is here right now. The Midwest Snowpocalypse is just rain here so far. But, they have a foot of snow and Thundersnow in Madison. Time will tell what we get here.

The weather people make it seem sooooo bad. They just reported that someone west of here had to scrape snow off their windshield.

Can you imagine that? In {{{ Wisconsin }}}. I didn’t know that could happen. Snerk.

It’s a good thing I went shopping yesterday. Sheesh.

  4. riskylady says:

For lovers of Brian May, a charming rundown of his fave London places (great suggestions too):

  5. Calgary says:

It would make an interesting study to see what kind of a bump recording artists’ sales receive in the day or two following one of Adam’s supportive tweets. I bought a bunch of Aurea’s music, and now I’m off to listen to Eden Espinoza.

  6. TLKC says:

I think Adam will come back to the US, too, Lady North. I just assume that at some point Sauli’s headed home while Adam is touring. The absence of a house would make that likely. He usually does the Tutka road trip in March.

  7. TLKC says:

Thank for the Brian May article risky lady. Interesting to know that he was a math teacher. Imagine your math teacher going on to become a rock star.

  8. milwlovesadam says:

Or your English teacher going on to become Sting…….

  9. glambotgram says:

Btw, HK Fan’s link to the fashion write-up (very detailed with names of designers of every single piece of every outfit)

For some reason every write up keeps missing the outfit from MAMA Red Carpet that he wore to introduce Demi. One of my our favorites.

  10. turquoisewaters says:

Imagine your math teacher going on to become a rock star.

Yeah, that’s not going to happen in my case. I just love me some rock stars.

  11. Kradamour says:

I heard an interesting item on the radio this morning. A couple of the djs were discussing why peeps record Christmas albums, even if Jewish, even if the genre totally does not mesh with their style.
Answer: royalties forEVER. Christmas albums have a much longer shelf life, and are much more rarely downloaded illegally (compared to other albums). The CDs are often gifted, not just this year but for many years. Apparently there is substantial money to be made for the long term, unlike most albums that have a year and then sort of fade off. Christmas albums return every year.
    Hmmm…
    Thinking

  12. TLKC says:

Not gonna happen Kradamour, LOL, unless Barbra Streisand personally invites him to duet. Perhaps David Bowie reprising Little Drummer Boy?

  13. TLKC says:

Yes, Sting taught also. I think Art Garfunkle taught math as well. Do you remember the keyboardist from Smashing Pumpkins who played keys for Adam’s FYE promo tour? She was a teacher, too.
A friend of mine went to a dentist who was a member of Men Without Hats. His dental office was in the Much Music building. A lot of musicians seem to have taken their parent’s advice about having something to fall back on very seriously.

  14. milwlovesadam says:

Mick Jagger is a Rhode’s scholar. He studied with Michael Caine, and they are still friends.

    So is Kris Kristofferson.

Harrison Ford is a Master Carpenter, was still doing carpentry when he filmed Star Wars.

From E Fashion police They are citing the red carpet look

In our loser’s circle, we have Miley Cyrus. (Sidenote: The Thunderdome’s nowhere near Los Angeles.) Her partner in crime: Adam Lambert. Wow. It’s like Dave Navarro and Eddie Izzard had a baby and sent him to pimp college.

  23. Miss Chaos says:

Why would a DJ say they dont play Adam Lambert? I dont get it at all. Because he is gay? So they dont play gay singers? Isnt that discrimination? Is that allowed? weep

  24. Calgary says:

Miss Chaos I’m guessing the answers to your questions are yes, no, yes and it’s a private company, they can do what they want. So infuriating.

  25. milwlovesadam says:

Bain Capital. They own ClearChannel. Bain is owned by none other than Mitt Romney. Conservative media. They’ll play an abuser ( Chris Brown ) but they won’t play Adam.

We have seen articles here about the near monopoly of radio station ownership and their conservative slant. We have all seen information on how it is so hard to get radio play, and speculate why some get played over and over, and some can’t get on at all. Corporate playlists. DJ’s have no autonomy anymore. And now, even morning shows aren’t local anymore. More nad more DJ’s have lost their jobs due to huge networks of sameness. We now have Elvis Duran in the morning. A whole local team lost their jobs.

  26. milwlovesadam says:

    .

  27. Ceddies says:

With all due respect, honestly, I can’t see a Jewish person singing that song.

mils, sorry I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I was about to go back and amend my post and maybe delete it (thought about that after I posted it); but my brother and his wife came in, so I just got back to the computer. I think I will just delete the post just in case.

  28. riskylady says:

Well, here’s what I don’t get. The radio stations broadcast over federally owned and licensed frequencies, and must comply with all manner of federal regulations, right? So, how can they discriminate???

  29. Ceddies says:

I thought the World Music Awards are being done tonight. Anyone know if they’re still having this or was it delayed from this date? Any information about whether or not it’s being broadcast?

  30. milwlovesadam says:

    .

  31. Ceddies says:

risky, maybe the dj wasn’t supposed to reveal that bit of information. It definitely seems like discrimination.

  32. milwlovesadam says:

    Oh Noes!! Ceddies, don’t delete!!

Please don’t delete. NOT offended here!!

  33. HK fan says:

Why would a DJ say they dont play Adam Lambert? I dont get it at all. Because he is gay? So they dont play gay singers? Isnt that discrimination? Is that allowed?

miss chaos, I don’t know the answer to your questions, but I do know its not the first time I have seen tweets like this, where the dj/and or radio station flat out say they will not play Adam.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

Hmmm. I really do wonder if that DJ wasn’t supposed to say that.

    It says a lot though.

I hope Glamberts pounce on that station and eat them alive. Cougars have sharp teeth you know!

  35. Kradamour says:

So, has Mils started another controversial thread?

    Nah.
    Grin
I don’t see the difference between a Jewish person singing a Christmas song (as a part of his professional career) and a Jewish actor playing a role in a movie or on stage that isn’t part of his or her personal religious experience.
For that matter, does it mean that a Christian – or a Buddhist, or a Zoroastrian – can’t act in Fiddler on the Roof?

Singing, to a certain extent, is acting.
Adam is in a good relationship now. Does that mean he should stop singing Sleepwalker, because it is no longer his personal experience?
Can he not play a straight role in a movie?
How is that different from singing a Christmas song? He doesn’t have to be baptized to sing it.
    Just saying.
    Thinking

  36. Ceddies says:

OOPS, mils, already gone. No problem, though. I had kind of thought about that because we are so multi-cultural here. But now that I see so many of the songs you posted by Barbra and Neil, I see that it would have been okay to leave it. But, it’s gone. DOH!

  37. riskylady says:

I love Fiddler – no, I don’t think that “love” is enough; it is embraced in my heart and my soul. I think of it often in the context of my marriage and my life. Sometimes a spoken line comes to me, sometimes a song. So many truths there. Timeless and universal.

Yes, I have heat. Wow. It was a saga, but, it’s warm here now.

Yes, we have talked about our love of Fiddler here, it’s rewarding how much we all love this show. It strikes an emotional chord in so many of us.

Today on Katie, she had Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as guests. Talk about nostalgia. So many great movies. And then she also had Marisa Tomei. Talk about great movies. So many roles and lines that we can all relate to.

    A Bette great:

    mils!? Shock

Zero Mostel, Hershel Bernardi, Theodore Bikel, Harvey Fierstein and Leonard Nimoy are all Jewish men and all played Tevye with Mostel originating the role on Broadway.

I’m just full of … useless information. Big Smile

I’m having a You Tube concert tonight. I’m now listening to Freddie Mercury interviews…
