December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.

I wanted to be a dancer when I was young. Never danced on the stage but did a lot of ballroom. Fun times.

Since Adam and Sauli both have facial hair now some fans are calling them Melvtwins. I think we’ll be seeing scruff tomorrow night. It’s okay but I prefer clean shaven. I liked the tunic top he had on in rehearsal but doubt if it makes the show. After all it’s Diva’s so I expect more over the top styles and it’s Adam.

Wow, he didn’t sound very optimistic about a North American Trespassing Tour in that Jingle Ball interview. Not even a “hope so”. Just “you’ll find out when I find out” at the end when he was pushed. I think that his face said it all.

I have to confess that I was disappointed in Adam’s honest response to the question about a Trespassing tour in North America. He said essentially the same thing in the THR interview posted above, too. “We’ll see.” Dang. I credit him for his honesty, but I would love to see some shows here. Even just a handful would be great.
ON THE OTHER HAND, I am so excited about the Divas show tomorrow, it’s ridiculous. They have done an A+ job of promo. It looks like it’s going to be fabulous, and I think Adam is going to really shine. Can’t wait!
Tonight was the last night of Hanukkah, and we went to a Hanukkah party of a dear friend and ate yummy latkes. Just wanted to wish a belated Happy Hanukkah to all of my lovely Jewish friends here at ALL!
I thought it was so touching to read both Neil’s girlfriend’s blog post about their latke party, as well as Sauli’s blog post about it. I can just picture them all together in Neil’s humble apartment (yay furniture!) having a lovely time together as family.

Good morning…watched that 103 interview a couple of times. Had to get out of the house to cool off. Something odd is going on. Is it RCA that’s in charge of the tours? I sensed something boardering on frustration to anger. I am thinking now it is more than just money and I can’t pin my finger on it.
Were the small shows a test of the market? Adam has said that he’d probably be touring in 2012. It’s almost 2013 and now this. Adam can be stubborn at times. Maybe he wants things that RCA can’t deliver. Then get the hell out of there I say. He praises his team all the time. Who on his side does the negotiations?
I thought touring and merchandising was the meat of income now for artists. And we know that Adam doesn’t need much. A couple of coffee tables & lighting. So what’s the problem? Gosh I’d love to be a fly on the wall.

I am in the minority. Let’s Dance is one of my least favorite Bowie songs. And I am his number one fan! And it does not show Adam’s vocal chops one bit IMO. But it’s probably the one he’ll do…the red shoes connection.
luval, a couple of possibilities are that RCA has refused to front any money for a North American tour, or that RCA has told Adam that either he goes into the studio and starts recording new material in April 2013 or else he gets dropped.
Let’s Dance was part of Adam’s Bowie medley on the AI tour. That song does nothing at all to show off Adam’s vocals.
Adam’s management team in the Trespassing era does not deserve any praise IMO. They really have not done him any favors. Dropping the lead single on iTunes right before Christmas (almost a year ago now), but not getting it to radio until sales momentum had gone away, sending him on that useless tour of radio stations in the winter and spring instead of getting him TV appearances, slow-rolling the radio push for the second single until after the album release, and don’t even get me started about the selection of singles.
Eventually we’ll know, eywflyer. This stuff always leaks somehow. What you say makes sense. Somehow they seemed to have money for the overseas tour. Of course, they love him over there. It’s a mystery to me. Maybe RCA is being restructured again. Whatever it is, stupid RCA apparently doesn’t want our money.

There could be a silver lining to the apparent cloud. Maybe RCA just wants a cd out by next Fall come hell or high water.
If you check it out, a lot of major artists who released cds when FYE came out in Fall 2009, also released a second cd approximately 18 months later (Spring of 2011).
I checked out the competition last Fall, when we thought Adam was releasing his cd. It was wide open because all of the biggies (Beyonce, Bruno) had released in the Spring. Please note: Bruno Mars is now on cd #3 approximately 18 months later.
Trespassing is Adam’s baby. Maybe he feels that he is abandoning it. Maybe RCA is making some hard-nosed decisions. Maybe those hard-nosed decisions suggest they still think Adam is worth the investment.
