December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.
A lot of holiday cheer to look forward to!

So I just discovered (yeah, I’m late to the party on this one) Karmin. So charming! and “created” by youtube. My other big crush Lindsey Stirling is also a creature of Youtube, they sponsored her tour after she gave them millions and millions of hits.
So…maybe labels are becoming almost irrelevant. Put your music out there yourself and then get sponsors when you catch on. Very organic.

As a follow-up to aely’s explanation of the difference between recording 19R and managment/publicity 19M: the most noticeable difference at the time of Adam’s departure was the disappearance of Lane but I still wonder if the delay on Trespassing’s release date and the way BTIKM was unceremoniously dumped out there just before Christmas was an indication of RCA’s pique. We’ll never know.
RCA still gets merchandise $$ from Adam for anything related to the cd, e.g. the Vaporsky print and the boxed LP sets. Lee Cherry did the photography for the latter and I wouldn’t be surprised if Adam has an arrangement with him re: shared remuneration. Adam mentioned a while back that he had started a business with Lee.
Another happy thought: Adam’s management looks after Katy Perry and she has talked about starting her own record label. She wasn’t happy that her label, EMI, was swallowed up by Universal last year.
I like Maroon 5’s songs, but I don’t like Adam Levine, what little I’ve seen of him i.e The Voice, he just comes across as so up himself…

Kradamour, I was hearing Karmin for a while on some of the “what you want” XM radio programs before I finally heard them host a weekend countdown show. I kept trying to figure out who it was–sometimes sounding like Beyonce, sometimes like Nicki Minaj, sometimes like neither. I like most of their songs–at least for hearing them a few times. You probably hear quite a bit of it at your school, no?

I think it was at KTUphoria back on May 20th in NJ that Adam met Karmin and they hit it off, tweeting and photos together. He really liked them. I looked at that thread, but poster, comments all gone, only the videos are there. But on Adam Lambert Events they are on the list of artists with him.

In reply to dcglam, I think that is the only right thing that the grammys did was to not nominate the Biebs. All he does on stage is lip sync and walk around the stage trying to hold his pants up! I think Adam was snubbed though! I was mortified at the people nominated for grammys. Do we have a sales number for international sales for Adam? Does anyone know?

Krad, when you get a spare couple of minutes, check out Karmin’s “I told you so” and “Too many fish in the sea”. Those two are pretty much hip-hop and lots of repetitive lyrics like young folks seem to like, that’s why I thought you prob hear this in your school (very akin to rap and crap, lol).
I did not know that their initial popularity was thru YT, so I appreciate your posting that.
