December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.
A lot of holiday cheer to look forward to!

Choosing a photo for the monthly threads is never easy. However, it’s his most recent look that is getting attention. Since it may not last long, I thought that most of you would enjoy the look from the Mnet Awards – fierce, defiant, always unpredictable Adam.

Enjoy the chat! Happy Holidays!

Ah, Sauli – “life is good!” – makes me feel good, too – the important things in life.

So disappointed for the nominations Frown But moving on. Thanks aely for your interesting research and info! Music business really is a complicated business. Have to love Brian May though Smile

And thanks Aely for the link to Helsinki after party tix, I got them already earlier. Now I don’t need them because my salty tix includes after party. Peeps here are very pissed off because of the stupid tix sales. So many fans have now bad seats or too many tix they can’t sell forward Frown And no info in advance. Very poor organizing. I hope the rest of the tix go too and everything goes fine in the concert.

Off day today, it’s our Independence Day. It’s incredible beautiful outside with snowy trees, I can’t even describe. I have invited my family for dinner. Have a nice day everyone despite of the grammys!

  3. rs says:

“Finally my siippa is at home and life is good!”

Sweet Sauli, he will take Adam’s mind off of the disappointment. And I love Dr Bri

I am like ron. For so many months now the Grammys seemed like such a done deal, the question was just whether he would be able to perform on the show and my dream of seeing him sing “Underneath” to that crowd of his peers. I am sad now and sorry, even though I understand in my head that it has nothing to do with the quality of the work that he has produced and that the Grammys work along the same lines as the radio stations, but still…..

I wanted to write here that America is getting the Grammys that it deserves, but that isn’t true. I don’t blame America. Most of America has a very short memory and doesn’t even know that Adam has done anything since Idol. I do blame TPTBs at the radio stations (not the DJs, they loved him when they met him) for not allowing his music to be played and therefore robbing Greater America of an incredible Voice. Adam will be fine. Enough people know him that he will fill concert halls in the States and arenas around the world and he will continue to get stellar reviews for his music. People in the States will just have to continue to make a special effort to hear his music, it won’t be spoon fed to them when they turn of local radio stations. Unless somebody wakes up to the truth sometime in the future, that is.

  4. ultimathule says:

I would have been very surprised if Adam had got a Grammy nomination so no big angst here.

Bieber fans are going nutso and bombarding the Grammy website with tweets. I’m so far removed from it don’t even know who won.

Been watching dance vids today – here’s one of my favorites – anyone familiar with Lord of the Dance and Michael Flatley – saw him in New York years ago – another magnetic performer – joyful

  5. rs says:

ultimathule, I saw Lord of the Dance here years ago. Loved it!

  6. ultimathule says:

Yes, it was a terrific show, rs – made you feel really good – just like Adam’s.

  7. rs says:

Not quite like Adam’s show ultimathule. lol .That was long before I had ever heard of Adam.

  8. HK fan says:

Can’t say I’m not disappointed….I had a little bit of hope that he would get a pop vocal nomination, especially after that article from arjanwrites last week.

He got a nom for WWFM, and that got radio play, and is still getting radio play, so I just don’t understand what has been different this time round, TPTB just don’t seem to want to even aknowledge he exists with this album.

Lets just hope he keeps getting bigger overseas.

Love the tweets from Brian, and love that comments of Saulis. Who needs a Grammy nom when you have Sauli to come home to!

  9. ultimathule says:

Yes, me, too, rs – like closing in on twenty years ago.

That makes me smile, and melt! In Love

  11. nkd says:

Thank you aely for the research.

Adam could clean up on a kickstarter if he were to be dropped! Wink

  12. cwm says:

“Finally siippa is at home and life is smiling” in the new translation. So sweet. LOVE In Love

  13. nkd says:

Cock ring is up to $650!
    Doll is at $3000!

  14. ultimathule says:

Wonder how the situation is with Xtina – her album sold less than Adam’s – is she going on tour – or does her Voice job pay enough that she doesn’t have to. Don’t think she’s in high demand as a live performer. Her future doesn’t look particularly interesting.

In contrast with Adam and his reputation as a singer and live performer (obviously circulating in the musical world with the reviews he’s received), it would appear his future – with his multitude of different talents – holds out more promise. His personality and charisma alone are rare qualities and worth a great deal.

  15. nkd says:

Another look at this pic of Adam signing pics of Adam, I spy lip and chin stubble.

  16. HK fan says:

Maybe we can get Adam to win best album on this poll instead…

RyanSeacrest.com — Vote for Your Favorite Album of 2012! May I suggest #TRESPASSING by Adam Lambert? http://shar.es/6A7wA

  17. cwm says:

I agree nkd, I don’t think he has shaved completely. I think we’re still in a stubble situation. Which is okey dokey with me. Smile

Funny because usually I don’t like the look of stubble on men at all – it usually just makes me wish they would shave. But for some reason, I find the stubble very attractive on Adam. I don’t know what it is; maybe that it adds a rougher masculinity to his face, which when combined with his more refined feminine features, creates a contradictory but very sexy combination. I don’t think I want it there forever, but it’s a fun change of pace temporarily.

I love that the cock ring is up to $650 and the doll at $3000. Awesome. Can’t help but wonder how high that cock ring will go, and if it will end up passing the Barbie in price.

The passion of Adam’s fans for the man cannot be underestimated. There may not be a ton of us, compared to the size of the fanbases of the top-selling acts, but we are mighty in our passion and devotion. And willingness to pay outrageous sums of money to get a piece of him. LOL

  18. cwm says:

ultimathule – I too wonder about Xtina. Her previous album did not sell particularly well either and she cancelled her tour, so I don’t know what her future holds. Her sales numbers do surprise me, given her prominence and longevity in the industry. Certainly puts Adam’s sales into a broader perspective. I thought that Xtina’s constant exposure on the Voice would have had a much bigger impact in goosing her album sales. The Voice certainly seems to have helped Adam Levine and Blake Sheldon a ton. But her, not so much. Not sure about Cee Lo; I don’t think he has released anything since being on the Voice. I do like Xtina’s voice a lot, but I have a harder time warming up to her as a person. I haven’t checked out her album yet. I was only lukewarm to her Your Body single.

  19. HK fan says:

I really like Christinas voice, don’t really like the songs that I’ve heard of hers though, certainly not enough to buy them.

  20. TLKC says:

OK guys, here’s an interesting piec of info. I checked out Frank Ocean’s cd, which was nominated. Frank has sold 390,000 to date. LOOK AT HIS
    RELEASE STRATEGY:

To prevent it from leaking onto the Internet, Ocean planned to release Channel Orange digitally one week earlier than its publically announced date.[7] He was inspired by Jay-Z and Kanye West, who prevented their 2011 album Watch the Throne from leaking by announcing several misleading release dates.[7] On June 8, Ocean announced a July 17 release date and released a trailer for the album directed by Nabil Elderkin.[69]

In July, a Def Jam executive travelled from Los Angeles to England with a copy of the album for English journalists at two listening events with high security.[49] On July 9, Ocean made his television debut and performed “Bad Religion” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.[71] The cd release was announced during the show.[73]

Channel Orange was made available on July 10 as a digital download exclusively on iTunes.[75] The digital store was the sole vendor of the album’s digital release through July 17, when it was released to other digital retailers.[76] Ocean said of the release strategy in an interview with Zane Lowe on July 12, “I haven’t even held one in my hands … The physical [CDs] are done, but when we sent them in, they were locked down at the manufacturer. They haven’t left. They never went on trucks [to stores] because that’s where things leak.”[77]

Although its wide physical release was scheduled for July 17,[78] Universal encouraged physical retailers to start selling it immediately after they receive shipments of the album.[74] However, discount retailer Target did not approve of its early release to iTunes and chose not to stock the album, citing consumer demand as their reason.[79]

  21. TLKC says:

Interesting, given that YouTube account with the HD version of the Trespassing CD has 700,000 plus hits.

It is a live concert game now and Adam is winning there. It is still a radio game, though. Adam is doing so well in some countries because he is played on the radio.

  22. Ron says:

Amazon has announced their “Best Albums of 2012,” and Adam Lambert’s sophomore album Trespassing made the cut! The CD placed in the top 50 in the “customer favorites” category, which represents the 100 Bestselling Albums of 2012.

A bit of a cheery note to start the day.

    http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474981795452

  23. luval says:

So I am over it and moving on. Glad that Frank Ocean got a nod. Sad that Chris Brown did too.

    Really interesting article about Ocean.

Didn’t GaGa hit it huge overseas first? Then she met Red One and everything blew up here with Let’s Dance. I have always wondered what the song was like with Red One that Adam started but was never completed.

I love that non-USA adores and supports him! Someone said save the best for last (us) and I think it’s true.

I think last night’s show, the Grammy compilation cd and the Grammy show itself will have the worst numbers in their history.

  24. fwachdr says:

ATTENTION, JLURKSACTO, The postal turtle is headed your way…be on the lookout!

  25. TLKC says:

Going back to what aely said regarding the industry’s changing strategy: if they define a mid-sized hit as 200,000 in sales then Adam is definitely in that range. Trespassing cd opened at 77-78,000 and sold another 73,000 in the next 8 weeks = 151,000 at last count.

We have no sales reports after July 14th but it’s not unreasonable to think that he would be in the 175-180,000 range by year-end and a 2013 US tour would easily put him at 200,000 by the time RCA addresses the possibility of another cd with him.

RCA does not have a 360 deal with Adam. His new management company handles most, if not all, of his non-cd revenue streams. He is relatively big for them and they have done a great job; probably a better job than RCA would have done.

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that they and Adam might prefer a smaller label, where Adam would be a top marketing priority. RCA’s timing and promotion of the Trespassing’s cd and singles was awful, among other things. His management company organized a lot of TV appearances last Fall for nothing and most TV shows have a policy of one appearance per season, so he was SOL in the Spring when Trespassing finally came out.

I am actually worried that RCA might not want to let him go. He’s the kind of artist who could leave them with egg all over their faces a yearafter they part company. My concern would be that they keep him but refuse to invest properly on the next cd.

Whatever happens, Adam will always land on his feet.

And he will always have us. Big Smile

  26. TLKC says:

GEEEZ, I sound like a real know-it-all. Sorry!

I don’t know much about the music industry but did spend 30 plus years in marketing and retail management, some of it as a consumer electronics buyer during the VHS and BETA era. Honestly, companies and executives went from hero to zero in a few short years once it became possible to copy everything on VCR’s.

The music industry is declining in the same way and, since Adam, I can’t help looking at Adam’s situation from a marketing POV.

  27. jlurksacto says:

ATTENTION, JLURKSACTO, The postal turtle is headed your way

On the lookout! I always thought recording and management were two different
entities. RCA (sony) recording and 19M management (or whomever Adam is with).
    Enlighten me please!

  28. aely says:

They are different. He is signed to the label RCA/Sony and his management is Direct Management Group. He left 19 Mangagement to go with them and it is probably the best decision he ever made. He also has ties with Kobalt Music Group for writing and publishing. Outside Edge is his PR group.

  29. aely says:

@cyndilauper: also should be the nuttiest version of Santa Baby ever with Ro O’Donnell and I am sing with St Vincent, n Adam Lambert,
    Sarah Mc lachlan,

  30. aely says:

Question: what in the world is the cock ring thing about?

  31. riskylady says:

Mils, you set me off last night with Fleetwood Mac (love them, been to a couple of concerts) and on the same page I found this old gem of Stevie singing Gold Dust Woman in a miniskirt LOL. The woman is fabulous. She’s guesting, and the guy CANNOT keep his eyes off of her.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTCigoQf7MU

Well, we don’t get much good news down here in the land of rap and crap, but here’s a little:

    Joey Brooks‏@JoeyBrooks
Now playing @adamlambert on my new station in Miami! #glamberts please share, “like” and let everyone know we’re here! !http://www.facebook.com/939MIA

Happens to be a station I listen to from time to time in the car, now I will for sure!

About the Grammys, after seeing the nominations, I DON’T CARE ANYMORE. Lost credibility, obviously based on sales and popularity, not artistry for the most part. Just a branch of People’s Choice and the other crap shows.
And I love Brian May even more than before.
I think Adam will be fine, he will laugh all the way to the bank. I read once before that when concerts are booked in a country, it’s because there is enough local interest, sales, etc. to justify the local Sony mgr to request them, so that’s happening. And there is radio play – we’ve seen the charts posted on twitter. People know NCOE and BTIKM, they sing along. Even the People SA guy complained because AdamI didn’t sing FYE or BTIKM in the concert.
Whatever – but the album still is selling because it was back in the top 200 Pop on iTunes the past few days (#159) and WWFM was back in the top 200 Pop videos. And, hopefully there will be a bump from the Divas show. To me, 200k by year end is not unrealistic. But I think int’l sales have been good.
Oh, one last shot: Was it also a coincidence that right when his album came out, so did Frank Ocean???? Claiming that his first love was a man? Of course, like Gaga, we will never have proof, nor will we see evidence of any future gay relationship. Bandwagon politics, I hate them!

  32. Calgary says:

    Grammy, schmammy. Love Brian May!
Kenny Rogers had his first big hit in 1967 and after several other hits got his first Grammy ten years later in 1977. Randy called it when he said Adam would be an international star.
ETA took out the emoticons cause they were wrong- cant find out what they mean on my ipad

  33. riskylady says:

Btw, BTIKM video has now passed 11 million also. Full album YouTube has 870k….and Runnin’ over 715k. One commenter says it should be a single. But, RCA is soooooo backwards…

  34. dcglam says:

Well, Bieber’s manager is not a happy camper today.
Ha, he says that Justin’s Grammy snub must have been a mistake.

    http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=778591

  35. firstimerob says:

I woke up this morning so sad. Adam’s snub brought painful memories of my Aquarius, artist son’s rejections. I would tell him it builds character, my son would say back he doesn’t need anymore character, nor does Adam. I am sure he is taking the snub much better than we are.

Thank you all for the optimistic vines, I feel so much better

  49. luval says:

random ….I thought Adam Levine was not good last night. He Screeched and had no power imo. And I’m not just saying this because of Adam. Have never cared for him, but I know some people do.

  50. Ceddies says:

luval, I do like Adam Levine a lot. His (their) songs are so good for a sing-along. You’re right, he doesn’t have such a powerful voice like our Adam, but he does well on ?vocal acrobatics? (not sure what that’s called). Even before our Adam, I was liking Maroon 5 better than most other groups out there.

ETA: the acrobatics I’m speaking of are in “One More Night”.
