Exciting times are upon us as July begins! Adam has just completed an outstanding first full length concert with Queen at a charity event in Kiev, Ukraine (as captured in the photo above). Five more Queen + Adam Lambert concerts are lined up for Moscow, Wroclaw (Poland) and London during the next couple of weeks. Adam will then return to the United States to play a series of solo concerts during the second half of the month, including gigs in Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Des Moines, Thackerville (Oklahoma), and a much anticipated return to the site of one of his first and most memorable concerts at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. All told, Adam will perform in 10 live concerts this month, which will make this his busiest month for live performances since November 2010 when he was in the European portion of the Glam Nation Tour. As always, enjoy the chat!

There was no denial to the Idol rumor. IF it happens, he’d be excited.
    (He said something like that)

  2. nkd says:

Here’s the link for Capital FM where they post the webchats.
Adam’s is not up yet, but maybe soon.

  3. Reese says:

Was curious how tickets were selling for the 1 Costa Mesa gig, and was shocked. Last tour, he sold out two nights rather quickly. This year, Scotty McCreery is the night before Adam and he has sold more. Wonder why Adam’s hasn’t sold out, let alone sold more than Scotty!

  4. Calgary says:

I have been thinking about the AI rumour and I just feel I need to play devil’s advocate here. I almost feel I should make a list a la mils but I don’t think I have the patience, so I’ll just ramble for a minute.
Many think AI is done – so are the ptb’s thinking Adam would revive it? Or will he be dragged down with the sinking ship? That would be awful!

He’s just getting his career going, and AI would sure cut a hole in his travel/touring/show plans…although he might take the time to develop a new album…

He’s just getting his career going, unlike any of the other celeb judges. There were lots of media comments about Paula and JLo being has beens trying to revive their careers. It might just kill his musical future. I know that there is always negative press, but it seems to me that Adam is slowly edging away from that and going on AI could bring it all back, even more so.

There is still a stigma to being an AI competitor – a judging gig will keep that going forever, like a tattoo.

What if he turned out to be a dud as a judge? He’s so kind, generally, that he might be too nicey nice, which is the complaint peeps have about the current panel.

American Idol IS a game show, as he said. Not in the same league as a gig on SNL, or guest hosting a talk show. I think in a way it’s too downmarket for where he is right now.
AI is more Macy’s than Rick Owens, if that makes sense.
I know the money will be great, and the exposure will please the Glamberts, but it might be short term gain for long term pain.

I can think of lots of reasons why it would be a good job, but I’m just kinda worried about the potential downside. Call me Debbie D. today!

I think he needs to talk to Paula, Ellen and Kara.

  5. fwachdr says:

    Good analysis, Calgary.

  6. Ron says:

Oh Calgary, you make so much sense and raise so many questions at the same time. You expressed a lot of the same things I’m thinking now too.

This really came out of nowhere, didn’t it? I need more time to process it. Laugh

I think I’m leaning a little more towards “not a good idea” but I’m not sure.

Well, it isn’t as though the job is his and all he has to do is accept it. While he’s under consideration that doesn’t mean they’ll end up offering it to him.

I do think Adam would be a much better judge than Ellen DeGeneres!

You’re not “Debbie D”, Calgary. You’re just a concerned and caring fan.

  7. josephine says:

Oh My!!!! after three beautiful concerts and sooo much happiness and thrills we have this idol “gossip” which I feel is not just gossip—-Adam is probably aware that exposure is everything and remember that J Lo was having a “low” in her career before Idol and it re-energized hers…he would be fantastic and as always is very intelligent on his choices..it will be a Win Win for us all—and we get to see him EVERY WEEK!!!!!I just love the thought and what he will bring to the show Smile Smile

  8. josephine says:

Noticed that Google has 128 news articles about the “Idol” gossip already—-I just hope he gets loads of Bucks as he is worth every penny!!!!!!

  9. Calgary says:

Reese Yeah it’s surprising that he hasn’t sold more than Scotty for the Costa Mesa gig. I wonder if there’s been much promo?

  10. dcglam says:

Well, folks…. Let’s not get too excited just yet.
MJ just put up the following thread….

Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Fergie, Will.I.Am Being Considered as American Idol Judges
by MJ on 07/09/2012 · in AMERICAN IDOL
Besides Adam Lambert, EOnline is now reporting a cavalcade of music stars as possible members of the American Idol judges panel, . Hey. Report enough names, if even one is correct, you can claim victory…right? Actually this sounds like a public relations free-for all to me. The E News lines must have been burning up today!

  11. eywflyer says:

Hm with the “cavalcade” of names now being tossed around this is now smelling like a bunch of PR BS to me too. I would now say there’s about a 10% chance of Adam actually ending up as an AI judge.

  12. firstimerob says:

Adams tickets for the Costa Mesa concert cost more than Scotty that could be why.

  13. fwachdr says:

eywflyer, I hope you are right…that way we don’t have to worry whether it would be good or bad for his career!

  14. Ron says:

Now there’s someone’s opinion I’d value and have the utmost respect for week after week on AI: Miley Cyrus.

    Eek!

Someone somewhere else suggested a panel of all former AI contestants: Kelly, Carrie, Jennifer Hudson and Adam … minus one because there can only be three judges.

  15. Ceddies says:

I know the money will be great, and the exposure will please the Glamberts, but it might be short term gain for long term pain.

    My thoughts exactly, Calgary.

  16. dcglam says:

I have to tell y’all that I just returned home last night from an almost two week stay in Boston. I have a new name that has an awesome clue to go with it. Think of the award that Adam will receive in February for Trespassing…… GRAMMY!!!!
You got it! My son and his wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy — my very first grandchild. Along with all of this joy came the agony of missing the first three Queenbert concerts.

I have spent the afternoon catching up with the Kiev concert. All I can say is….
    OH. MY. GOD.
Adam is/was totally in his element here. This is where he should be, in my opinion — in front of hundreds of thousands of peeps doing his thang. What a classy, magnetic performer this guy is!

A very special thanks to you, my dear jlurks, for the oh so sweet surprise in my mailbox today. You are one of a kind, and you’re da bomb!! Blowing Kisses

  17. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Yay, dcglam is back!!! You were missed, dear friend! Blowing Kisses

  18. AL says:

My son and his wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy — my very first grandchild.

Congrats dcglam! or should that now be dcgram?

  19. asifclueless says:

    Is Dadbert travelling by himself?

    Miles Tougeaux ‏@milestougeaux

Best travel karma ever: exit row with 3 empty seats all the way to London. AdvilPM and whisky…engage!

  20. Ron says:

    Congratulations, dcgrlam!

    Welcome home!

  21. asifclueless says:

    Congratulations … dcgram.

  22. JOJOSIE says:

Adam has said he wants to be in a movie and what better way to get your face out there than on TV. The show pays well and would give his music a boost as well as maybe be a good stepping stone to the big screen. Actually Idol has more viewers than the late night popular shows. Also I really don’t think Adam wants to do a long term tour like he did on his last album. He’ll tour some but I don’t believe too the extent he did last time. His hard core fans would be sad but he needs new fans and exposure to millions each week would be hard pass up. I’d love to see Adam and Will.I.Am, plus a popular gal celebrity on the judges panel.

  23. ultimathule says:

Congratulations, dcglam – may it be the first of many. (Old saying – grandchildren are your reward for having children – lotta truth there.) Enjoy!

  24. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

dcglam, please feel free to flail uncontrollably over the three concerts you weren’t able to enjoy “live” with us – I’m still in the mood!! Clap Jump Clap

  25. luval says:

If anyone has E Entertainment on right now, Adam/Idol will be on after the commercial.

  26. ultimathule says:

Yes, it’s a mixed bag, isn’t it, JOJOSIE – I keep running hot and cold, but you make some great points – especially about a very long tour. Well, at least there was some great PR out of the whole thing.

  27. dcglam says:

You all are hilarious. Thank you so much! I will answer to anything — dcglam, dcgram, and dcgrlam!! Most of all, thank you for all of your well wishes. They mean the world to me.

And yes, Texas….. I still have quite a bit of flailing to accomplish. I’m happy to hear that I won’t be alone! Wink

  28. fwachdr says:

Congratulations, dcglam! Such a joy, one’s first grandbaby, or as kradamour called mine, glambabies!! I think that quote was supposed to be “grandchildren are the reward for not killing your children when they were teenagers”… or some such thing!!! I am so happy for you!

  29. fwachdr says:

Maybe dcglamgram?!! No worries about the flailing…I’m so addicted to these Queenbert vids, I can’t get anything else done!

  30. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Jojosie, I agree with your post. If AI offered Adam the job, how could he possibly turn it down? The money would be great, the exposure would be great, we know the judging critique would be great (what a change that would be!) – it’s a win win!

Reese, in answer to your question: I live in the Dallas area and Adam’s doing a show at Winstar Casino the end of the month. The last appearance he had at Winstar (2 years ago), his beautiful billboards were all over the Metroplex – this time, I haven’t seen one! There’s Rod Stewart and Stevie Nix, but no Adam. Frown

  31. fwachdr says:

And Dadbert…3 empty seats to London…you gotta be kidding…I’ve never even seen one empty seat!

  32. AL says:

Well, at least there was some great PR out of the whole thing.

    Yup! Like this…

  33. Calgary says:

WHY is E! News using that footage of the Father Guido Sarducci hat????? Are they totes OTL or nasty?

ps congrats dcgram! You are so lucky! I’m still waitin, but then again, I’m only 29.

  34. nkd says:

Congrats dcglamgram! It’s the best! I hope everything went well and everyone is healthy.

    Queenbert rules! Flail away!

  35. ultimathule says:

Actually think he looked beautiful (gawd – his profile!) in the Italian hat. Definitely doesn’t look like your average performer. Isn’t the hat on the back of his album?

  36. nkd says:

I have such mixed feelings about the Idol judge thing.

I would love to look at and listen to him every week on my tv, but I don’t know if it’s the right move for him.
If offered, it’s Adam’s decision to make and live with.

What would stanning this man be without some angst?!!!

  37. nkd says:

    Rolling Stone article.
    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/adam-lambert-i-would-jump-at-the-chance-to-judge-american-idol-20120709

Honestly, of all the gorgeous pics on the interwebz, why do they always pic the least flattering ones?

  38. dcglam says:

    My thanks continue, everyone…. Heart

It’s the best! I hope everything went well and everyone is healthy.

nkd, everyone is doing well (knock on wood). However, Mommy and Daddy are extremely sleep deprived right now. They are not only dealing with a newborn with crazy hours, but also a very spoiled dog that needs attention as well. I keep telling them that it gets better. Sleepy Yawn

  39. dcglam says:

Calgary, your time will come. All good things come to those who wait (so they say). Yeah, I do feel kind of young (29) to be a Grammy.Wink

  40. adamized says:

Phew!!! was getting a bit nervous about that grand baby…so happy to hear all is well dcgrammy You missed a few magnificent concerts but nothing you can’t catch up on. Each one was very special so far and I’m sure the next 3 will be fantastic as well.

I like that Adam is getting so much press right now with the Idol rumor and his touring with Queen. It can only help the album’s success and his options moving forward. My thought is that IF he is offered the job and he takes it, he will make something out of it above and beyond the crapola talking puppets that Jo Lo, Randy, and Steven have become. Adam could bring something fresh to the table and even get involved with some of the production aspects of the show. I can’t imagine him being placid and letting the show continue the downward slope its been going.

Did Adam end up doing a web chat today? I can’t seem to find a link to it.

  41. nkd says:

    Capital FM web chat fianlly!
    http://vimeo.com/45477371

  42. milwlovesadam says:

nkd, thanks for the web chat. It was all kinds of awesome. That interviewer was very good, letting Adam talk, not pushing him to answer uncomfortable questions. But, it cut off the end!!

Love, just love that he talked about Dragon Attack being one of his favorites. I remember posting after Kiev that I was loving it, and could see how much he was grooving to it, he just seemed to FEEL it. Bluesy songs have that effect on me too.

    Congrats dcglamma!!

  43. milwlovesadam says:

So it looks like mostly everyone important to Adam is there for the London shows.

I’m starting to get excited for Wed. I won’t be home during the day on Wednesday. What time is showtime?

ETA: Just answered my own question, it will be 12:30 Central time.

Showtime at the Apollo is 6:30 PM. Crikey, that’s early! Wonder if they are planning a longer set?

  44. sparkle says:

mils – The picture of the marquis (isn’t it marquee or something?) that nkd posted on page 8 says “Doors 7 pm”, I believe. Can anyone confirm showtime?

  45. nkd says:

Doors open at 6:30, show at 8:00, so 2:00 central???

  46. nkd says:

I was watching the chat today and had buffering problems, and the stream cut off abruptly at the end. I hope when Capital FM gets it on their site that they will have a better, complete version.
    http://www.capitalfm.com/webchats/

  47. milwlovesadam says:

I clicked on the link up top of our site, on the HMV Apollo date, and then inside the site, it said, show at 6:30, maybe it means “doors open” in England. If the show is indeed at 8, then Central time is 2PM. You are probably right nkd.

Adam must be having a ball with his whole family together now, well, it’s 5 AM, so hopefully sleeping, but, all in the same city.

  48. nkd says:

It is “marquee”, not marquis, however I do love marquise cut stones! Wink
    Who can spell?!!

    I know …

And as far as that goes, I just don’t get it when people feel the need … it seems like a *need* … to step on other peoples feelings, their sensibilities, and try to diminish them to the point of intentionally wanting to hurt another person.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned in life it’s that we’re here to help each other and try to make each other feel better about ourselves.

You don’t like Adam Lambert. I understand. There are lots of entertainers I don’t care for either. It would never occur to me to go to that person’s website or a thread on a blog and post anything about them. So I can’t wrap my mind around the mentality that’s behind going to a thread to post cynical, sometimes sarcastic, oftentimes negative posts to try and make those who do like Adam feel bad.

I’d like to think this is a well reasoned post or maybe I’m just stupid.

Please forgive me eywflyer. I know how you feel about things over there being brought over here but …

Look at the difference. It’s SO nice to be here … among friends … with eywflyer … a dear friend, who isn’t a tyrant … and AL, another dear friend, who isn’t a tyrantesse. Laugh

Off to bed now. Good night. Sleepy
