December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.
A lot of holiday cheer to look forward to!

Choosing a photo for the monthly threads is never easy. However, it’s his most recent look that is getting attention. Since it may not last long, I thought that most of you would enjoy the look from the Mnet Awards – fierce, defiant, always unpredictable Adam.

Enjoy the chat! Happy Holidays!

I don’t know if anybody caught it, but in that interview where they were trying to get Adam to sing the Christmas songs (that he didn’t know), he threw in “dreidle, dreidle” which is a Chanukkah song. It obviously went over the heads of the interviewers.
My mother used to make delicious latkes (potato pancakes) for Chanukkah, so those photos brought back lovely memories. The toppings are either apple sauce or sour cream (or both, lol).
And good girl for not mentioning Adam and Sauli by name. Only us diehards will know who she is talking about. After Adam had Christmas with Sauli’s family last year it is so nice that Sauli could share in one of Adam’s family’s holiday traditions this year.
I loved Sauli’s blog and his little Jewish History lesson. The streets here are filled with huge menorahs and it is a beautiful sight, especially at night when they are lit up. Soon the road to Bethlehem will be decorated, too, as well as parts of the Old City.

Hi rs (and other peeps slowly crawling up from their beds..)

Nasty snow did a nasty trick to my back yesterday, so taking it easy at home today, laying down mostly. More than ready to donate half of the snow to nkd and HK fan! Hk fan, I hope your kid has a chance to experience snow one day, it must be something very special to someone who has never seen or felt it.

So many Adam things to catch up! Many funny moments reading last 2 pages, thanks for bringing them. Adam’s relatives have a great sense of humor Grin And it was very interesting and thoughtful of Sauli to write a blog about Jewish habits, people in Finland are not very familiar with them.

Loved the Lyndsay Parker interview, thanks rs Smile I’m so looking forward Diva’s! I’ve seen an official stream link but someone in Twitter said it’s only for the red carpet Frown But there’s some fan too who’s trying to stream the show.

The interview also brought some questions on my mind. New album soon, something different? I have to say I really wish it’s not gonna be that rap thing everyone is doing! International tour but no mention about the real TP tour – is he gonna make the new album first???

The Rolling Stone poll result is great, but not the way they present it Frown But a lot of great comments afterwards! Did you know about this poll? Peeps in my twitter feed didn’t, they haven’t voted there.

  4. adamized says:

Hi Peeps! I have been having trouble with this site the past few days. Really wonky. Can’t go back or forward without getting the page of symbols and cannot access the December thread directly. Weird!

Hope your back feels better soon LadyNorth.

The Lyndsey interview was great but it left me feeling sad. I know Adam has a great life in the scheme of things and he is the last person I should feel sorry for but it seems like he always is having near misses here in the US at least. Thank goodness his international presence is so strong. I want him to have an amazing career in all things he wants to do and I want him to be around for a long long time.

Re RS, no one on my twitter feed remembers voting for that particular poll. Hate how they represented the win. Sort of took all the pleasure out of it for me. I know that we glamberts have a way of swaying the vote but I’m not sure it happened for this particular one.

Sorry for being so grumpy. Probably need more coffee.

    Have a good day everyone.

  5. LadyNorth says:

Thanks Adamized, I hope that some light exercise and sauna will help. Sorry to hear you still get those symbol pages Frown It’s happened to me a couple of times. And I can understand your sadness about Adam – the truth is he gets much less than he deserves. I admire how he can always get over the disappointments and move forward.

I watched Lyndsey interview again and noticed he didn’t talk about different music, it was different approach. What ever that means… What do you think what kind of music he’s going to do next?

  6. glambotgram says:

Lady North by different approach I think he was talking about the choice of singles and the way they release the new music. I would not be surprised if they go for an international release next time. Release in the countries that are playing on radio and where his singles did well.

rs I definitely noticed the dreidel, dreidel. Gave me a chuckle and reminded me of when he said “My dreidel spins the other way” Big Smile

    Mils great list, love it.

  7. glambotgram says:

As far as RS award goes, they ruined it with their crap comments. If you are going to put out an online poll and not limit the voting, then you can’t complain about the results. I can’t see anyone on that list more worthy or with a better album than Adam.

  8. rs says:

Take care of your back LadyNorth
I just watched the Lyndsey interview again. I don’t know what he meant by “a different approach”. Trespassing was a very personal album that he took a long time to make perfect. Maybe he realises that in the fast paced reality of pop music, it is more important to trust your first instincts and get stuff out there quickly rather than spending so much time reworking and perfecting everything. Pharrell taught him that. He has said many times that he overthinks things. Maybe now that he got the very personal album out and got great critical reviews for it, he will be more relaxed on this one, trust in himself and his abilities, and just put out lots of good music. As long as he doesn’t lower his standards in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the mass American market……

  9. rs says:

    Somebody decided that these were Adam’s best tweets of 2012;

  10. dcglam says:

The Lyndsey interview was great but it left me feeling sad.

It left me feeling the same way, adamized.
It sounds as though the the US may not be getting a Trespassing tour after all. It seems that Adam (and team) are ready to say good-bye to the Trespassing era and begin a new one. That is not all bad — new beginnings can be very good. Along with not receiving a US Trespassing tour, the sad part to me was Adam’s obvious disappointment with US radio. Even though he mentions that he is not that sensitive, this truly does bother him. I, too, am wondering about the ‘music in another direction’ comment and also hoping that his main goal for this next album won’t be to cater to radio, but I’m thinking it may be. Radio does seem important to Adam and has been his biggest challenge thus far in his career.
Positive thoughts here…. I’m always looking forward to new music from Adam!!! In Love

  11. dcglam says:

Haha, I tend to agree with Dadbert…

    Miles Tougeaux ‏@milestougeaux

@adamlambert I’m going out on a limb here and casting a “No” vote for “Papa Dont Preach” #VH1Divas

  12. LadyNorth says:

    Thanks rs and glambotgram!

As long as he doesn’t lower his standards in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the mass American market……

That’s what I hope too. Somehow I think there are certain groups of people to whom his personality is too much, whatever music he does. I am very sorry if Trespassing album trespassed so soon, I think it is a brilliant pop album.

I would like to know who decided no tour… I bet it was not Adam. Does anyone know how these official tour things go, who decides, management or record label or what? Why couldn’t it be a shorter tour? Less dates, bigger venues? I think there may be some dates in Australia and New Zealand between Asia and Eastern Europe. But I hope Adam’s own concerts for US too.

  13. LadyNorth says:

Yes dcglam, the lyrics are not best possible for Adam Grin

“Papa don’t preach, I’m in trouble deep, papa don’t preach, I’m keeping my baby…”

I remember that music video well…

  14. eywflyer says:

So apparently no US Trespassing tour. I was afraid this would happen Frown

Pretty unlikely that the next album will have anywhere near the production or promo budget that Trespassing did. This is the vicious cycle of below expectation sales and airplay unfortunately.

  18. luval says:

Where is it said that there is no US Trespassing tour? I am at work at can’t view and videos or interviews.

  19. milwlovesadam says:

Those Lyndsey Parker interviews were incredible.

I’m not over-thinking what he said about new music or international hits. He seemed happy and upbeat about everything.

To me, it is win-win. The unsaid is that he will be having a new album. The unsaid is that he isn’t being dropped. He talked about meetings ( plural ) with TV people for projects ( plural). There is a lot of interest in him. He filmed comedy stuff for promo, he filmed comedy for the ads we’ve already seen.

I do predict a big future for him. PLL and Divas is just a taste. He is finally really getting noticed. I do see SNL and Glee and more actually happening. Maybe even Smash ( or True Blood).

And he was absolutely charming and gorgeous and articulate even beyond his normal charming charming gorgeous and articulate. Divine. Yummy. Thud.

BTW. I am seeing my doctor today for my post-op appointment.

    Good. Just in time.

I need clearance for corner preparation work for Sunday night. I am expecting a lot of company. I am putting out a call to all of you out there to help with the corner on Sunday night. Since we will all likely be there, a job list will be needed.

I’m readying the Glam ICU just in case. Oxygen tanks are on order as we speak.

I’m thinking I may need a Love to Love You room. A Hot Stuff room. Need help with decor and safety preparations for the expected flailing.

Please post your ability to help in the coming days.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

luval, he didn’t say no tour directly, he just talked about the shows this winter and spring and said he was going to get to work on the next album ASAP.

  23. glambotgram says:

I am so out of touch musically, I only know of Natasha, Jordin, Kelly Clarkson, Miley, Demi, Pitbull, Brandy and Kelly Osbourne. I literally have never heard of any of these other women. LOL

Now the 12-12-12 concert last night, those were my people. HAHA

I also don’t think he said no tour, he just outlined the euro/asian dates. But he at least did use the word TOUR.

  24. glambotgram says:

Mils I am going shopping tonight. I will see what I can find. Margarita maker? Fans? Mops? I think we need some 70’s beaded doors, and lava lamps, and fiber optic lamps. Black lights and flourescent posters.

  25. rs says:

So no cameras and no “unofficial” videos from the audience. I don’t know how I will be able to see the show, if ever Frown . We have VH1 here, but I don’t know where it originates from and I looked in the schedule for the days following Sunday and no sign of the Diva’s show. Is it possible that I will miss it altogether? Could someone please just take a video of their TV when the show is on (not live, of course, but after you have taped it and are watching again) and then post it on youtube for us under a different title, known only to us? It will be better than nothing, no? Or if it is possible to make a DVD of the show from a TV (I used to do that with a VCR) I would gladly pay for shipping.

  26. luval says:

Ok, thanks mils. That means Queenbert!!!!

  32. glambotgram says:

rs If you go to the vh1 site on their video page, they have the videos from last years Diva show. So they will probably put up all of this year’s too, at some point.

    http://www.vh1.com/shows/events/divas/_2012/videos.jhtml

  33. rs says:

Thanks glambotgram, I went to the site, and as usual, “the videos are not available in your area”. But I went to firefox where I have followed ron‘s directions and am able to circumvent those restrictions and see the vids. Of course, for some reason my realplayer doesn’t want to download them. I wonder how long it will take for VH1 to put up the vids. If I could watch live I would even get up at 5:00 am for it.

  34. luval says:

So I’m home from work and listened to the Lyndsey Parker interview. I felt a little uncomfortable. There was a hesitation after he talked about the european (?) tour like there was nowhere else to go. Was waiting for him to say something like “we’ll see what happens after that”, but he didn’t say anything. And then the urgency to get new music out. At some point he will definitely tour here, just when who knows.

I knew there was a reason why he never named the tour because it’s a non-tour. But he seems happy. He has his glamberts who will support him forever, I think. So we just have to wait and see.

  35. TLKC says:

I watched the interview and see a bit of discomfort from Adam when radio is discussed but he mentioned success in other countries, which was really thinking on his feet. I am very happy about the new material. It means that RCA is willing to have another go. Production costs may be kept down but Adam is a dream voice to work with and he will probably find a few big people happy to work with him.

To me, the new approach is HAC radio, which loved and played WWFM to death. It’s not a case of radio rejecting Adam; it’s POP radio. Chokehold, Shady and several bonus songs on Trespassing fit that mold and are loved by many fans more than the core songs. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

  36. TLKC says:

I’m a bit sad, too, luval but I can’t think of a better person for Adam to have this conversation with than Lyndsay Parker.

You were right about the naming of the tour. Can’t see Adam leaving money on the table in the US, though. There will probably be some one-offs in the Northeast, where Adam has not done full concerts. California is over-exposed: Costa Mesa, Fantasy Springs, San Francisco etc. but the East coast would bring in decent crowds. Just won’t call it a tour.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

  37. aely says:

  38. luval says:

I really like that youtube, aely. Have always been interested in things like that. I love the last couple of lines. Don’t want to repeat them here. Hope he’s correct!

I haven’t noticed any talk on atop or 24/7 or twitter about “my concern” from that interview. Guess it’s all in my head.

  39. HK fan says:

I would love a dvd of The Divas show too, if someone is able to do one. I am in the same boat as rs, can’t see any of these vh1 clips Adams been doing unless someone transfers them to youtubeFrown
The thought of not being able to see him do any of his hosting…or singing, is very sad.

re the interview, I think he will do a few one off shows in the US while working on new music, pretty much the same as this year, but his own shows, not the radio ones.

  44. HK fan says:

That video of Adam trying to name the song the lyrics came from is so cute…
I’m with him though, I can never place lyrics if they are just read out like that, without the music, I’d probably even struggle to name Adams songs.

  45. luval says:

Glambotgram… My firefox was NOT up to date. So I fixed that and now I can even view Keek videos where I couldn’t before. In the past I would get a message asking if I would like to update, but this time I didn’t.

  46. aely says:

There may be another way for the overseas people to see the concert. There is a site http://www.graboid.com that posts TV shows and movies. I have never not found what I am looking for. All current stuff so things drop off. You can watch from anywhere and it gets posted sometimes hours after the show or at least the next day. They offer a free trial that should cover the length of the concert. I have used it for years here and there. I will still do my best with the DVD’s.

I received my Cherry/Adam photo today too. So beautiful.

I never invested much in yellow & black except for nail polish. But as time goes on at any of Adam’s shows, whatever they are called, it will be a kaleidoscope of colors and styles. Yellow, black, blue, purple, feathery, shiny, layered, bare, sparkly, glittery. That’s what makes you beautiful! Thanks 1D.(wish boas would come back. I have a few of those LOl).

  49. Kradamour says:

Loved the Lyndsey interview, he has such a rapport with her, has from the beginning. She asks such good questions and leads the conversation so well. Always a quality interview.

So…new music? I’m in favor. Adam doesn’t like to linger on the old, and he doubtless has new bits coming into his head. I agree with those who don’t really see a full-blown US Trespassing tour, but perhaps some one-offs on the east coast (that would suit this east coastie just fine!), or he may feel that he has done what he needs to do for and with Trespassing. It seems as though it has been out for decades already! The last few times that Adam has been talking about Trespassing, I really got the feeling that he was thinking in the past tense. Can’t really put my finger on it, but we have heard him speak for hundreds (thousands?) of hours and I would like to think that we can pick up on nuances. And when Adam talks about Trespassing now, it isn’t with the eager enthusiasm that he showed before…it is a quieter sort of satisfaction, as though the moment is complete. If accurate, I certainly can understand. He need never ask himself “what if I had only…?” – cos he did it all, he was Mister Promo.

Re HAC…hate to say it, but that is where he belongs and always has (IMHO), and that is due partly to his age.
I have always thought that there is something old about his songs, but not in a bad way – which perhaps explains the appeal to us 29 year olds. We hear it.
Adam’s influences are the singers we grew up with, too – and he turns those influences into modern music, but not completely detached from their roots. And Adam himself is something of “an old soul” as we say in the south. Also by no means a bad thing.

LOVED the palmistry video! Thanks for posting it!

Did anyone else notice the dreidel photo in Sauli’s originial (Finnish) blog post? I wonder if it is Adam’s old dreidel?
    In Love

Finally, one more word about the facial hair. Seeing it in contrast to all the gorgeous promo vids for Divas, he looks downright hirsute. ALL my fingers are crossed that he will shave before Sunday!

After seeing that photo of Neil in Elisse’s blog, it occured to me that facial hair on Adam does enhance his resemblance to Neil. It coarsens his features, which are more delicate than Neil’s. Just a thought.

Is it possible to be a post ho with only one post? Ha!
    Wink

  50. adamized says:

My sad feelings sort of followed me around all day today and I was eager to come here and see what other folks thought. Sounds like we are seeing the positives of having new music, a record company that will be around for awhile longer, and potential one off performances on the east coast. The other positive I took away from the interview was the possibility of having more Queenbert in our futures.

I hope that Adam singing some sexy covers on Sunday will be a big draw. I know I will be a nervous wreck hoping that he is a huge smash. Glad I won’t be watching alone or with a non-glamily member.

May I offer to bring some fans to the corner as well as a fainting chair (is that what they were called???)
