Exciting times are upon us as July begins! Adam has just completed an outstanding first full length concert with Queen at a charity event in Kiev, Ukraine (as captured in the photo above). Five more Queen + Adam Lambert concerts are lined up for Moscow, Wroclaw (Poland) and London during the next couple of weeks. Adam will then return to the United States to play a series of solo concerts during the second half of the month, including gigs in Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Des Moines, Thackerville (Oklahoma), and a much anticipated return to the site of one of his first and most memorable concerts at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. All told, Adam will perform in 10 live concerts this month, which will make this his busiest month for live performances since November 2010 when he was in the European portion of the Glam Nation Tour. Just checked out Mary J’s Wikipedia. Very impressive. I do not like Mariah, Aretha, and not really crazy about Celine for the job.
Mary J. Blige gives me the impression that she thinks she’s “all that”. Everyone has a story and hopefully if it’s not good they can overcome it. Every time I’ve seen her guesting on a talk show that is all I see. Kind of haughty. Nope, not for me. If she gets the job I might give her another chance but not for now.
You’re right, luval, about the kind of air that Mary J. projects. To me, though, she is just the tip of the iceberg when compared with Mariah when it comes to “all that”. Also, everyone has a story, that isn’t a license to be named judge. I’m with ya there. So, let’s just hope they come up with some more names. Whomever they come up with, there are gonna be pros and cons, those who approve and those who don’t. My dilemma, though, is whether or not Adam will be in the position. I’m still about 80% no, 20% yes on the subject.
If Idol wants to attract a different, younger audience then none of those divas mentioned will do that IMO. Miley, maybe, but I don’t like her as a judge. She did surprise me however when she mentored in Season 9, she was pretty good.
I think Fergie would be good.
Are they replacing 2 or 3? It seems like it’s all up in the air!

I actually think Cher would be a great judge. And there is def a ditz element that would be fun.
Kradamour…I love those three choices! Now Meatloaf went a little nuts on Celebrity Apprentice but I don’t hold that against him. It was nothing to do with music. I do like the 2 guys & 1 gal thing too. Don’t think Cher would do it, though.

So far, the only other guy’s name I’ve seen in the mix is Will.i.am.
IMO, Cher would be an awesome judge. She would definitely tell it like it is with the necessary compassion and humor. She has my vote!

Goatiegarden…How did you see the availability of seats for Fantasy Springs? The link I posted at 8:46pm was for WinStar and I can see lots of empty seats in the back. But I couldn’t find a similar view at Fantasy Springs.

You’re right, the empties are for WinStar. I was looking at FS seats earlier and playing around with the idea of hopping a plane, but I think two weekends in a row of 17yo son alone will be pushing my luck!
Wow lots of seat available at these venues, 4 for the price of 1, that does not look good. Glamberts spent all their money on London.
I am not surprised at the seats available. Although maybe all the news about Adam and Idol will pique peoples’ interest. After all it is summertime and vacation time. Unfortunately IMO I don’t think the Queen/Adam gigs will have an effect on Adam here in the US as far as Trespassing. At least not now.
I am going with my brother from Salt Lake who has never seen Adam before. I have been spamming him for 2 years with Adam information! We are getting Adam on the third night in a row but I’m sure he’ll put on a terrific show… Just like the first night.

I considered trying to do Winstar on my way up to Des Moines, but the distance between the two cities is 665 miles (about 10 hr. driving time). It’s do-able, but would be some tired azzes by the time we got to Des Moines and would have to fall into bed in order to enjoy the Saturday with everyone.
ETA: I just got that all wrong. The Winstar is Friday night. Would have to drive that day which is the day of Des Moines. Not do-able at all unless we drive all night. Nah, not do-able at all.
