December has arrived and that means that 2012 will soon be over. Adam has been “trespassing” all around the world lately and currently finds himself in China and will wrap up his 2012 with a New Years Eve concert in Bali. But before the year ends with a bang there is plenty to do on his home turf. He heads to NY for “Cyndi Lauper and Friends” and a TV appearance, then hops across country for a radio event and a little “Diva” hosting thang.
A lot of holiday cheer to look forward to!

Choosing a photo for the monthly threads is never easy. However, it’s his most recent look that is getting attention. Since it may not last long, I thought that most of you would enjoy the look from the Mnet Awards – fierce, defiant, always unpredictable Adam.

Enjoy the chat! Happy Holidays!

It was a good interview, yes? I loved it. The Way We Were is one of my all-time favourite movies too. Piers is 100 times better than Larry King Live. Hope the petition to deport him doesn’t succeed (snort!)
Barbra looked very 80’s tonight, both her hair and the bow/collar thingy.

  2. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh Ron. I saw that interview, it was from several days ago, they’ve been re-running it. She is still so fab!

I just love how they show so many good movies over holidays.

The Way We Were is such a personal favorite. So many “moments”in that movie. When she sees him in the bar sitting there with his eyes closed, when she slips into bed with him, K-K-Katie, when he ties her shoe, when they dance, and the hair thing. Aaah. Memories Light The Corner of My Mind.

It’s funny. Being part of this fandom is creating so many memories too. From TV, from videos, from live performances we have seen, from real friends we have made through all of this.

  3. Ceddies says:

This is the first I’m hearing about Django Unchained. Just Googled it. Great, another “Damn those folks from Mississippi” movie, although my state is not the only location where slavery existed and they were mistreated horribly. Every time a (Mississippi) movie like this comes out, we have a resurgence of vindictiveness and violence between the two races here. It’s not a good feeling for either side.

Sorry for the rant, but I’m just stating my feelings as usual.

ETA: “Mississippi Burning” and “Ghosts of Mississippi” were two movies that I was thinking of when I said “another” above….

  4. Ceddies says:

    So many “moments”in that movie.

mils, my favorite moment from the movie is near the end on the boat and the discussion of “Best Day”/Best Girl”. Katie definitely made a lasting impact on their lives.

  5. TLKC says:

It was a good interview, yes? I might go see her new film. Her voice is so amazing. Piers showed the YouTube video of her singing with her son, Josh.

Oh ceddies, me too! I love that moment in the film. The Way We Were is one of my all-time favourites.

  6. milwlovesadam says:

ceddies, that is a really great moment too.

Django, from what I understand about it, is similar to Inglorius Bastards, in that it is a revisionist history, with a “victory” that really didn’t happen, but provides a sense of justice. In Inglorius Bastards it was revisionist to imagine a posse of Jewish soldiers who targeted Nazis, and that revenge could be had by a plot to murder all the highest ranking Nazi officials in one fell swoop.

I loved that movie, and I enjoy Tarantino films in general for his eye of sarcasm, wit, and twist on things. He makes everything into a spaghetti western. He is ultimately after “justice.” Spike Lee recently condemned the movie. Because of it’s revisionist tone and racial violence. I had several friends and relatives who walked out of Inglorius Bastards for the same reasons. They didn’t want people to equate WW11 atrocities with vengeance.

To each his own. I can’t wait to see it however. Your rant is fine with me. Peace

  7. Ron says:

“The Way We Were” is one of my least favorite Barbra movies.

    There. I said it. Razz

She should have won the Oscar … over Glenda Jackson for the comedy “A Touch of Class”???? … but of all of Barbra’s movies, TWWW doesn’t get a lot of air play here.

  8. milwlovesadam says:

So, then , which is your fave?

  9. retjenny says:

I’m happy for you Mils that you will be back to regular work. Congratulation. I do remember that when you were a working girl in the past you still had time to dust off the broomstick (for our flight to Wimbledon) and make up the lists of who does what job for BB (i.e. lacing the leather pants, etc) so I think you will still have time to keeps us on the right path and cozy and warm in the corner.
We managed to get in to see Les Miz on Christmas day. Just a warning – you will feel like you have been thru the ringer, many times, when you get out. The movie has the same beautiful songs as the stage play but the visuals are so much more real. Poverty, the likes of which we have never seen – etc.

So, then , which is your fave?

    Probably, “Funny Girl” mils.

But for pure escapism, even though her performance was “all over the place”, I’m partial to “Hello, Dolly”. The art direction, the costumes, the choreography are all great IMO.

However, knowing how Danny Lockin, that young effervescent dancer who played “Barnaby” died, I can never view the movie in the same light again. Horrible. Especially when I do watch it and see him so full of life.

  13. TLKC says:

Actually, I was the one who made the list retjenny and I still have it. luval and I both bought lottery tickets on our road trip to NYC in hopes of winning the jackpot so that we could take everyone to see the next big Queenbert concert.

I still have the list on EXCEL and was looking at the names the other day. Remember clearone? We put her in charge of security.

  14. Ceddies says:

mils, I didn’t see Inglorious Bastards. Didn’t seem to be my kind of movie. And actually, I’ve only tried to watch two Tarantino movies with my ex and didn’t like either one. He’s just not my cuppa. I really don’t go to movies unless there is something that jumps out at me and just about won’t watch a full-length movie on television. I like the big screen. I plan to go see Les Miz, so if the previews of Django looks like I could live with it, I may see it. Problem with that is, my movie-going partner is one of my two besties, and she is African American. Not sure how we would make it thru Django. Will see if she thinks she wants to try it. Our friendship is over six years old and seems to be a very strong and trusting relationship in that we can say whatever we feel. Will keep you posted.

Same to you, dear nkd! Hope to see you during the new year.

  16. Ceddies says:

See you guys another day. G’nite.

  17. TLKC says:

Notice who I put first???? MJ LOl! Even then kradamour was on probation!

I wish I had put the jobs down but people kept changing their jobs. Actually it was funny because I just started the game one night to pass the time until the concert videos came in. Everyone assumed that Adam would be on the plane with us. I wanted to ask why he would be on the plane with us but the game got so funny so fast, I figured what the heck.

For weeks after, people were asking to be put on the flight and I posted the list on MJ’s at the end of the tour.

The funniest moment was when someone sent me an email telling me that I shouldn’t have agreed to let someone else on the flight because they didn’t like her. I wanted to write back: “You know this is just a game right?” (Neither of those people are on this site!)

  18. nkd says:

    Thank you Ron! Kiss

  19. retjenny says:

Of course TLKCThanks for jogging my memory, but I thought I was on there. I guess it was a later list. I do recognize so many names. Remember luvadamlambert? She was so young. And also, dhunken. He and I use to often close the thread. Me, because I am West Coast and he just use to stay up all night. Sadz Frown

  20. TLKC says:

Not into Fifty Shades but if they pick an Adam song I’ll go see it. Didn’t he suggest that Chokehold would be a good song for that film?

  21. TLKC says:

OMG!!!! Retjenny, I’ll add you right away. We need to add nkd and jurksacto as well. I remember you from the MJ days.

I wonder where some of the other people are. Getting nostalgic. Nice to see that so many of us are till here, though.

I am sure mils wanted to be chief lacer-upper. Ron and baebae kept trying to outdo everyone in the jobs department so I put them in first class to keep them happy.

    smeggingnuts had a baby recently.

  22. Ron says:

    TLKC says:

I wish I had put the jobs down but people kept changing their jobs

I was always the Steward, tending to everyone’s needs.

I remember someone asking if that included tending to Adam’s “needs”.

Uh, no. Not then, not now. Smile

But my answer led to further job opportunities like “tucker-inner”.

Who’s willing to tuck Adam in at night.

    Laugh

Once upon a time, it was lots of fun at MJ’s.

  23. milwlovesadam says:

Yesss, I remember the list well. I also remember those people. So many came here to play with us, but, where oh where did some of them go?

How do we find them? Are any lurking? And how do we get some that are over there, like Axxxel and Nadine Bitch to find us? They are died in the wool Glamberts and seem like they would play nice in our sandbox.

BTW, Ron, LOL really, Dolly is my least favorite one. For real. I can’t put my finger on it why, but, at least it has Tommy Tune. I always enjoyed him. I met him once here after a show at our now long gone, Melody Top, outdoor tent theater in the round. That was such a wonderful theater, it was the site of many memories for me as a young theater attendee. Cabaret. A Little Night Music, Follies and many others.

Ceddies, no worries, Tarantino is certainly not for everyone. This movie is sparking a lot of conversation, and is quite controversial. I have seen most of the stars of it and Tarantino on talk shows, I’m very intrigued to see it, but, many feel like you do.

  24. nkd says:

I’m not into Fifty Shades either, never read any of it, but I am excited that Adam’s song was mentioned on their FB site as being perfect for the film. I’m into promoting Adam not the film.

Now if Adam’s song is used and Ian Somerhalder is cast, I might go see it!

  25. milwlovesadam says:

I wish I had kept those jobs lists I used to make. That was so much fun. I remember we even had a “gum unwrapper.”

Many laughs about the “tucker inner” and the “sleepy time ” jobs.

If I remember, it was to plan for long overseas flights, and for our dream of Wembley. Wow. And to think that it might actually happen with Queenbert someday. Now, wouldn’t that be a kick in the head?

  26. milwlovesadam says:

I am sure mils wanted to be chief lacer-upper.

Lulz. If I remember baebae and I used to try to out-do each other and take dibs on the laces.

I wonder where she’s lurking these days…and hope she is doing well. She has a wicked sense of humor.

  27. Ron says:

    milwlovesadam says:

BTW, Ron, LOL really, Dolly is my least favorite one. For real. I can’t put my finger on it why,

Maybe it’s because Barbra wasn’t very good in that movie but still, to me, her performance is fascinating to watch. Again, love the “look” of the movie and the musical numbers.

OMGosh, she was Fanny Brice, Barbra Streisand, and Mae West all rolled into to one trying to be Dolly Levi. Laugh

But I still like it. Wink

  28. retjenny says:

I remember that since every square inch of Adam was spoken for, I volunteer to tend to EBER. Some one else (???) jumped in and said “No, I have already spoken for Eber.” So I volunteer to see that Leila was well taken care of but always thought Eber would be much more fun. lol

  29. milwlovesadam says:

Can I tell you guys a funny story? This really happened the other day, I was at a facility temping, and one of the gals, a 29 year old, ahem, walked in from a break holding 50 Shades, and I kid you not, she was all flushed and silly looking, and she said, I’m not joking here..

” OMG. I didn’t know this was such a dirty book!!”

We all just fell over laughing. Where has this gal been? Under a rock? Her facial expression, her naivete, it was so hilarious, she thought it was an Oprah book!! A high brow reading experience. LOLOLOL

I asked her if she was going to finish it. She just smiled and said “well. I did start it. So I will finish it.” That just made us laugh even harder. She was so cute.

  30. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, wasn’t she pregnant during filming of Dolly? And, I remember reading that she really didn’t like Walter Matthau and was very unhappy he was cast, and didn’t feel like they had any chemistry and that he couldn’t sing.

    “G-Nite”!!

  32. JOJOSIE says:

TLKC, I’d like to go on the list also as I know most of the others from here or MJ’s. I don’t want to stay home alone. I was very surprised that NKD wasn’t on. Me not so much as I don’t post often I’m more of a talker not a writer. Those who have met me will tell you I’m not quiet or shy. MJ’S got good a good seat as we owe her a lot even tho we don’t always agree with her. Smile

  33. riskylady says:

New video just surfaced from the balcony at the Divas show, all of Adam’s part of Hot Stuff. You can see him go up the steps, then come down and slip slightly at the bottom, then the dancing with the dancers during Last Dance (looks like he sort of joined in the choreography), and really hear the crowd’s fabulous reactions to him and his high note.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_XZrDNKXjo&feature=youtu.be
I will also post it on the Divas thread.

  34. riskylady says:

Mils, YAY!!!!!! So happy for you, I know it will be tough to step away from the corner for a few hours, but feel confident you will keep your our priorities in mind.

  35. ultimathule says:

I posted at MJs for years – but under a different name, of course.

  41. rs says:

Congrats on your new job mils. I know that you were getting just a little worried there for a bit, and you need to get your finances in good shape for many more AFL concerts. I have no doubt that you will keep your priorities in order, though, and spend as much time here as needed to manage your addiction keep yourself (and us) sane and happy.

  42. HK fan says:

Can’t join in the Barbara talk, don’t think I’ve watched any of those films mentioned…..I did use to watch Doris Day musicals when I was younger, and Elvis films…

Saw Inglorious Bastards for the first time recently, thought it was quite good.

And I will admit to having read all 3 50 shades books….And whilst I will admit that they are not the best written (!!!) books, I did kind of enjoy them. And actually thought they got better after the first one as the personalities came out more rather than just sex.

I remember so many of the names on that list, I was a lurker on MJ’s then. I wonder what happened to so many of them and whether they are still Adam fans.

What’s your address, HK Fan? I have about a dozen DVD’s I want to send to you to bring you up to speed. Big Smile

Actually, Barbra dated James Brolin for 2 years before they tied the knot when he then revealed to her that he’d never seen a Barbra Streisand movie … and she still married him!!

    ROTFL

I would have kicked him out of bed right then and there. Laugh

She’s working on a “duets” album. Hmmm. When asked what current male singers she likes, she thought about that a bit and then said, “I like … Usher”.

    Usher?!

Someone (hi luval) send this woman the Kiev and GNT DVD’s along with the “Trespassing” CD, please. Smile
