As October begins, Adam has just announced the official radio add date (October 8) for Trespassing, which is the title track and the third U.S. single from his album of the same name. A Trespassing EP with a radio edit and album remixes will also be available on October 16. After limited success for the first two singles from Trespassing, Adam likely needs this third single to be a hit in order to continue onward with the Trespassing era, at least here in the United States.
After an October 13th concert date in Australia, Adam will return to the U.S. for a pair of dates during the second half of the month, on October 17th at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix, and on October 29th at the Texas Tango radio concert in Grand Prarie. TLKC, I don’t see it as doom and gloom. Just keep it in context.
By now, we all pretty much know the cycle: some discouraging news or a discouraging post; followed by quite a bit of hand wringing, including blaming his label, his management, and sexual mores in the United States; followed by someone pointing out that Adam is loved abroad; followed by someone posting a half dozen positive US events; followed by a general consensus that Adam has nothing to worry about, he has mad skilz and will always sell out his tours plus he is in a great relationship plus has friends and family who are close plus has a rabid fandom that has his back.
Then…about two days. Sometimes three.
Then…the cycle repeats.
Adam’s trajectory isn’t like anyone else’s. If we all just let go of the idea that he has to be successful in the same ways that, say, Bruno Mars is successful, then we’ll all keep our smiles.
But gotta say that the cycle of despair and resolution is usually pretty enjoyable. Group catharsis and we all move on.
Hello everyone! For me, I gave up hoping for radio success for Adam a while ago. If it ever does happen, it will be by sheer pressure and momentum from the rest of the world. This way, I am not constantly down in the dumper because my guilty pleasure is not getting his hard earned dues. This new found attitude also allows me the opportunity to be overjoyed and surprised when he does receive the attention and love domestically that he so richly deserves. I frame my expectations around Adam. He has always said that there are so many countries where he feels a kinship if you will and this is not one of them. So, I try to keep my expectations on the low side, just sayin. But that does not mean I am in anyway worried about BB’s potential for success. I say slow and steady will definitely win the race and when we look at where he is at and how far he has come…..he is winning!!!
I just got home from Tel Aviv with the package containing the Kiev DVD that riskylady so generously sent me sent me by express mail on September 19th. Under normal circumstances it should have been delivered directly to my home within a few days, but some idiots at the postal authority have put me through Hell. I won’t bore you all with the undelivered notices, the contradicting information I got after hours waiting on the phone, the demand that I travel to the postal customs office in Tel Aviv (an hour’s drive each way, not to mention our exorbitant gas prices), the runaround from office to office with them blaming everyone else for the problem, of course refusing to take any responsibility, and to top it all off, the demand that I pay a $25 handling fee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I hadn’t have paid it they would have just sent it back to the States. So I had no choice. But some letters of complaint are going to go out. I would have gladly paid $25 for the DVDs, but not to the postal authority!
Anyway, it is done. The second DVD is safely hand delivered to mr. Remember her from the “Old Days” after Idol at MJs? I just checked that the DVD works in my player, but will watch it when I am calmer and have more patience.

And one more thing, I have been listening to the Queen/Adam cd that I made in the car since I got back from London, but today I put Trespassing in for the first time in ages and I heard it twice through almost without interruption. I fell in love with it all over again.

Do any of you here use the Shazam app? I have so much fun with it,a few weeks ago I tried it on BTIKM and it didn’t recognize it, I was bummed. Then the other day I tried again with NCOE and there it was on my phone, so I tried some of the other tracks on Trespassing cd, and they all came up. Just a little Adam thing but it made my day!
It even had all his upcoming appearances listed, so cool.

That was the first time that Adam heard Trespassing on the radio! It made me a little bit sad when he said that, though.
First time for me, too, actually – and it sounds completely different when you know that a song is being a radio play. I heard it with totally different ears, the ears I use to evaluate whether or not I like any new song on the radio.

These interviews out of New Zealand are wonderful. I especially love the tvnz breakfast news interview on the couch and the weather report. He was utterly charming and honest in the interview and the weather report was hilarious. I think he is getting more handsome every day, or maybe it’s just the gradual return of the darker hair…
Today I was watching TV at the gym and saw one of the fruits of the benefit concert that Adam gave at the 9:30 Club for marriage equality. It was an ad supporting Proposition 6 featuring an African American Southern Baptist pastor. He spoke of how he supported religious freedom and that no church would have to perform same sex marriage under this law. He then made the point that marriage equality was a matter of civil rights and that all Marylanders should have equal rights under the law. It was a very effective ad, especially coming from an African American pastor.
At the other end of the political spectrum, I received a robo call 3 days ago soliciting money for Todd Akin for Senate. I was aghast! Not only do I live in Maryland and am a registered Democrat, but I’m a women’s health care professional. Boy, were they barking up the wrong tree! It’s a good thing it was a robo call or I might have said a few choice words.
