Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

UPDATE: 11/7/11 11 PM – Photos and videos still coming in from last night’s epic performance of Queen with Adam on lead vocals at the EMAs!

Morning everyone and thanks for the get well wishes. Much appreciated.

I think we all agree that Adam is a natural mentor. rs, love your fantasy. Not at all far fetched IMO. Afterall didn’t he just produce and star in one of the most creative and fun stage shows ever? I would love Adam to direct and star in a movie some day. Just imagine seeing his face on a large screen.

The whole BFM/Monte thing is so upsetting. Seems that BFM is being sent all over the world. You have to hope that people don’t think it sucks since it is associated with him. Can’t win for losing.

  2. luval says:

I’ve been thinking about The Show Must Go On. I’m looking at it (in my mind, of course) as Adam’s new single. Out in November. And as Randy Jackson said on Idol after WLL “you could go out right now, make a record and go straight to number one”. Or something like that. Does anyone think this song could be recorded now and be relevant in today’s music industry? I’ll bet Queen wouldn’t mind!!

  3. rs says:

Fantastic idea luval! How do we make it happen? So many people love it already and would want a really good recording. And Adam could make some money from it, which would be a nice added bonus. Has anybody tweeted the idea to him?

  4. glambotgram says:

    kradamour

glambotgram, no idea how a 29 year old could possibly have a grandchild, but if nekkid can, then you can too! LOL Love to you and the glambaby.

Funny you should call him a glambaby! When we were at the hospital I noticed glitter on his head, lol. Thought he might have had a famous visitor but alas it was just the glitter off of his sisters shirtl Wink

Thank you turquoiswaters, cher, HK fan

  5. luval says:

I’ll tweet Adam as soon as I get home. Am at the dentist right now. Glad you like my idea, rs. Adam/queen are now number one on MTV’s most viewed videos!

  6. asifclueless says:

rainbowgal…my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. My thought and prayers for your partner’s good health. May both of you have many many Adam’s concerts to enjoy forever.

Ceddies, my thought and prayers are with your mother also. Hope that our love and concerns here ease your pain and worries.

For all of us here, we double our joys together, like nkd and glambotgram cerebrated their grandkids, and PlanetFierce moved on to the new place, new adventure.

And we here help divide and ease the aches and pain and any suffering one must have.

Though, this is virtual friendship, the sincerity is real.

    Love you all. Grin

  7. Kradamour says:

    A beautiful post, asif.

    I can’t add anything betterer.
Best wishes and love to Ceddies and rainbowgal.

Ceddies, in a couple of days there will be a little surprise in the usps mail. Something small to look forward to from Adamized and me. Smile

How nicely said and how true. Thank you so much asifclueless, kradamour, cher and HK fan for caring.

Yes partner is an Adam fan. She supports so many of my interests and loves his music. She’s not the music buff I am. I’ve always been attracted to singers with a good voice. Which makes my play tune list sometimes really limited. Pretty much it has to be people who can sing live. Although I enjoy someone like Katy Perry (just for fun)I don’t spend much of my money on those types of singers.

I laughed over the idea of seeing Adam on ITAS with Lipton. Let’s hope Lipton is still around when that time comes!!

Off now to my second favorite toy store (Adam always comes first) Menards!! LOL

  9. ultimathule says:

It’s difficult to lose one’s mother – mine died two years ago after being hit with a very bad stroke that had kept her incapacitated for months. She had been the focus of our large family and her loss was hard to take. The death of someone like my mom takes so much family history with it. My deepest sympathies, rainbowgal.

  10. mieps says:

To everyone who has expressed illness or loss of loved ones, and everyone who reads these comments going through the same thing, I hope you have the strength to get through it.
The thoughts of many are with you.

To our new oma’s on the site, and maybe some opa’s?, I hope you have the best time evah!

  11. mieps says:

On a different note, and waaaaay late, I don’t understand the negativity on the vibrato during Adam’s performance with Queen. After the first notes I thought he was somewhat mimicking Freddie, since in my mind the latter used the same kind of vibrato. It may have been a bit more subtle, but I definitely hear it.
    Am I the only one?

I can see it from Adam fans, since he doesn’t usually sing like that, but there are Freddie fans who bash it as well.

  12. luval says:

mieps, I like the vibrato now (wasn’t sure at first) and if you listen to the few different videos that have been posted, in some you can hear it more than others. I wonder what it sounded like to someone who was actually there and not through a video cam?

  13. mieps says:

It’s definitely interesting how things can sound so different when heard through different media. Mils’ comment on the Starlight performance (chipmunk on TV, but not on video) made me think back to the Idol tour. I had driven 16 hours to see Adam, sat through everybody else (that sounds more negative than it should, I really enjoyed almost everyone. I might have even enjoyed Danny, but I wasn’t paying attention to him since I was getting too excited by what would happen next…!), only to get chipmunk Adam Frown I came away a big Allison fan though, she sounded fantastic Wink
Of course I got over it, and the video’s of Vancouver were great, so I had plenty of time to recreate my memory.

  14. nkd says:

This just came across twitter. The article by John Kearns, for The Irish News, about the Adam and Queen performance. It was out earlier in the week but not readable from the pic available. You will still need your magnifying readers! Wink

  16. ultimathule says:

    That article says it all.

  17. ultimathule says:

I checked with my son-in-law who’s a professional singer in New York about vibrato and this is what he replied:

I assume what you’re referring to is a vibrato of 6 – 8 oscillations (or pulses) per second. It doesn’t surprise me that someone has actually studied what kind of vibrato is pleasing (or beautiful) to the ear and what isn’t pleasing. (The companies that design today’s electronic MIDI instruments have to take that into consideration when designing sounds.) I’m sure that there are also studies that determine how far the pitch can deviate within the vibrato for the note to sound “pleasing.”

Ultimately, it’s all about the personal aesthetic tastes. If you are going after a tone that sounds “open and beautiful” to most people, then the vocal sound will, most likely, have a vibrato of 6 – 8 oscillations per second.

Singing is like any art form where the aesthetic effects – and the transparent mental, emotional, and physical/mechanical techniques to achieve those aesthetic results – are two distinct things. Ideally, as a professional vocalist, it’s all about achieving a certain aesthetic effects to communicate a song in the most mechanically efficient manner possible. Within that context, “6 – 8 oscillations per second” really doesn’t mean anything; because, as a vocalist that isn’t what you are striving for.

    I could go on…

  18. asifclueless says:

mieps, I like vibrato. Most singers I like have great vibrato.
I like this comment on youtube when peeps complained about Adam’s too much vibrato.

You make yourself look foolish when you say “way too much vibrato”, there is not a male singer alive that would not give their left nut to be able to sing like Adam. He is the best male voice in the business today,…..have some respect.

Vibrato is a gift that “too” many singers do not possess, many try to fake it, with Adam it’s natural.

You might want to try Burton Cummings. Wonderful voice, not unlike Adam albeit started 30 yrs ago.

That is just so awsome, they are saying it is just Glamberts doing it, but I just dont have time to sit and view all these videos all day, now TSMGO that is another story, heh, but hey, how do you think the Beibs gets all his video views, certainly not from the normal public!!!!

It’s nice hearing Roger talk about Adam. … his unparalleled range, effortless performance….fits right in with their flamboyant style, etc. Also interesting that he talked about how well Adam did/did not fit in with Queen. Roger talks bout how Freddie’s personality is unique, but as for performance, Adam fits right in and they’ll probably to do that again sometime. Spiff! Spiff!

Love Roger and Brian. I really think Brian especially wants to promote Adam’s career. Good stuff!

  32. cher says:

Thanks for posting spiffysmiles! I’ve felt abandoned here for a while now. lolol Smile Good to have some company.

ETA: Just arrived home from work and so much to catch up on! Smile

  35. HK fan says:

Wow, that mtv.most popular thing is great. I thought it was good yesterday when he had 10 in the top 30 but now….and I’m with Mieps, its not me doing it as ‘I’m outside the US’ (although at the moment its been letting me watch TSMGO, but none of the others. It pi***s me off a bit, as it will let me watch quite a few of the other artists (if i wanted, which generally I don’t!).
That newspaper article was great, have never seen an article that positive about him before, just wish I’d seen nkd’s enlarged version before I’d strained through the other one!

  36. dcglam says:

    The article by John Kearns….
Wow, this could have been written by all of us. I know for sure that he managed to capture all of my thoughts since American Idol 2009. It is so cool to hear these sentiments expressed from someone other than us!! Wink

  37. dcglam says:

Hmmm….It appears that some early recordings with both Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury might possibly be released. I, for one, would love to hear these sounds!

  38. nkd says:

I loved hearing that interview with Roger Taylor and him talking about Adam. I’m looking forward to that day they do it again.
Today I’ve been cleaning blinds, floors etc… My house cleaning has taken a back seat to all things Adam, but I’ve got company coming for Thanksgiving. So I play youtube vids on my TV while I clean!!! EMA performance and Ste Agathe concert! I have to stop to watch every once in a while, thus extending my cleaning time! Grin

  44. Ron says:

    Good evening, glamberthaf28

It always makes me smile to see your cheerful greeting. It’s completely in character with the girl I saw just across the way from me in Ste.-Agathe. BTW, if I was asked or had thought about it, I would have guessed 16-17 years old. I do mean that as a compliment! I could be your … well, I’ll save that happy thought for another time. Grin

  45. luval says:

Well my drummer friend will be the first one to go to a Queen/Adam concert wherever it is.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to happen. You could tell by that Roger Waters interview that they are focusing on the contest for a Queen tour. haha unless they regret now having the contest. That Mark Martel from Canada is very good. Looks and sounds a little like Freddie but no stage presence and he doesn’t have that bombastic, commanding presence that Freddie had.

  46. mieps says:

I’m thinking Hiawatha for the party.

That’s great luval, someone to travel with!

  47. luval says:

I wonder if we’ll ever see the party pics.

HK fan…9 of the most beautiful pictures of Adam.

    Hi Ron…Hi glamberthaf28 (or Heddy)

eta; mieps…oh gosh, I’d rather go alone than be with a ” could care less” Adam fan as we’ve discussed in the past!

    Hi luval!!

But didn’t Roger say that it looks like it’s going to happen again? Meaning Adam singing with Queen?

I was just going to ask nkd, because she’s cleaning today, if we could use her broom to go to Wembley for a Queen (with special guest appearance by Adam Lambert) performance. Having met nkd, I’m sure she has a broomstick tucked away somewhere. Wink

  49. luval says:

I’m going back to listen to that interview. BRB

  50. mieps says:

Yeah, I remember, but now he’s motivated to go, surely that’s different? Hmm… no, I can see what you mean.
Luckily there will be many of us going as well!
