After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Congrats on your son’s accomplishments! I also know a lot about med schools in Israel. My daughter’s boyfriend is planning on going to med school there and did alot of research this past January. I also just returned from 6 weeks in Israel, and spend a great deal of time there growing up, so I can share my knowledge with you.

Luval, Orange County (SNA) is the closest by far, but LAX or Long Beach work also. LAX tends to have cheaper fares in general but if you get a good fare into SNA you will save yourself a nasty drive on the 405. I’ll probably be flying into LAX and driving down as fares from Miami to SNA tend to be high.

With 80,000 Adam might hit #1. I assume that Carrie and Adele last week numbers had Mother’s Day factor built in (otherwise how could we explaing 30% increase in Adele’s sales?)

I have discussed the history of Idol second albums previously. The data tell us that under 50% performance on the second album relative to the first album is career danger zone. 80k is 40% of 198k.
NCOE needs to start picking up airplay quickly.
If Adam hits number one I would be happy. Sometimes it’s the perception that something is fantastic, not the actually number…that people might think “oh, number one. Maybe I’ll take a listen”. No one I know including my musician friends would ever know about a “sales number”.
That Larry Flick soundcloud is very intriguing. What two “off the cuff” songs will Adam sing? I don’t subscribe to Sirius radio but I’m sure we’ll hear something.
I just got off the phone with TLKC who is a marketing strategist. She’s studied all of the sales figures, percentages and looked at the data from every mathematical angle. She agrees with Hits Daily that this is very much a three way race and put it this way:
The “top side” meaning, of course, 80,000.
She’s spreading the word to all of Toronto
that even those who bought 15 copies have to buy 1 more to get Adam to that 80,000 mark. 70,000 isn’t going to do it.
I feel like a cheapskate as I’ve only bought 2. I’m picking up the meet ‘n greet voucher at HMV later (the correct HMV!) and will buy another one.
I received my Amazon and B & N copies. I’ll get a few more because the first set are all spoken for!

Adamized, I’m so very happy for your son’s good news. I have only heard good things about medical schools over there. My husband is Israeli. Both of my sons will be in Israel next year too, studying. The set-up work to make this happen has been like a second job for me lately. The only perk in my having been laid-off, has been the time to get this done.

I went to my local Wal-Mart store a little while ago. There were no copies of Trespassing. Salesclerk looked everywhere, checked in a couple of boxes sitting by the CD’s and told me that they either didn’t get any in or they are all sold out. Her supervisor was waiting for her to complete their project, so I didn’t detain her by asking questions that I wanted to ask.
IMPORTANT: If any of you ordered from B&N several months ago and haven’t heard from them, better call and check on your order. I noticed that many of you had received you orders from B&N. After Wal-Mart was a fail, I decided I’d better check on my order from back in ? February. THE ORDER HAD CANCELED ITSELF WITH NO NOTICE TO ME. I would be waiting til doomsday for that order if I hadn’t checked. So they processed a new order for me. It will ship tomorrow and deliver in 2-5 business days. There had been two e-mails in the past that had indicated delay in delivery but that it would ship when supplies came in. After the second 30 day delay, she said it automatically canceled itself. GRRRRR!!!!
ETA: Guess a ride out to the Miss. State campus (one mile) is warranted to check at the B&N store there. I’m all wiped out today, guess I’ll do that tomorrow.
On a happier note, congratulations to all of you who got good news about concerts and M&G’s. I’m excited for all of you. And, adamized, high five for you and your son on his good news.

I still haven’t listened to Trespassing, as I was awaiting the physical CD in my hot little hands. I WILL STILL WAIT.
I feel like an average fan. I have 1 download (couldn’t wait) got 2 CD from Amazon and 2 from B&N (their price was too tempting) and donated 2 CD to that Texas LGBT organization. I’m going to keep 1 CD and give 3 to my friends, who are fans, but I owe them a favor so this is sort of “thank you”. If I find anyone, who would like to have TS, but cannot afford I will gladly “gift” it.
Hmmmmmmmm!!! Costa Mesa, now considering that I don’t fly, that would be around a twelve hour drive…..May look into this———-

Every time I hear “Take Back” I think of the Finland Christmas debacle and Adam and Sauli sitting, eating burgers and talking the next day!
I am thrilled (like peeps on other blogs LOl) have said that Adam is in the top three. Yes, I’d love him at number one and maybe this will happen but I’m willing to wait until the week is over to get the exact numbers. If it takes us in the idol bubble to get him there so be it. As eywflyer said the second week is important too.
If it doesn’t happen for him with this album (and I think it will happen but as usual an uphill climb…what else is new?), he will still tour because this is where the money is. He is a worldwide international star. So wish NCOE would get out there. Tricky tricky as Adam said about the radio business. And Adam comes with “baggage”…the AMA’s of course.
eta: good riddance to Jennifer Lopez. Get Jimmy Iovine in there. Can’t think of a female at the moment!

So. He is getting booked all over the place for summer shows. More keep popping up every few hours it seems.
Here’s what I think. FWIW: He will sell steadily. He will steal each show and get the best reviews of the night, just like he did during the Idol tour. It didn’t matter who the hell else was up on that stage, all anybody could remember was Adam.
He’ll tear up Europe with Queen. Elton will rave about him. He’ll end up meeting Bowie, I can just feel it. Europe and Asia will eat him alive.
The states will have to pick up the pieces of his poor battered body. LOL. Then he will tour the states.
Then, and only then, will he get the respect he deserves.
