    O2 London recap:
The two O2 shows had enough similarities that it makes the most sense to recap them together. Unlike Wembley, the O2 Arena is a big, beautiful modern arena with easy access to central London by Underground or by ferry boat on the Thames. The first show was on a beautiful clear day so rs, adamized, riskylady and I took the boat to Greenwich in the early afternoon. After seeing the sights and having dinner in town, we took the 5 minute boat ride to the venue. The ride on the Thames was especially gorgeous after dark with all the buildings lit up with Christmas decorations. The next day was raining so we took the Underground to the venue in the late afternoon and had dinner at one of the many restaurants in the complex.

We had the perfect compliment of seats for the two shows. The first night we were in the second row of the first level on the left about 3/4 of the way back in the arena. From that vantage point we had a great overall view of the stage and the graphics. The graphics were even better and more intense than they were last summer which is hard to believe. On the second night we in the 10th row of the first level across from the lower part of the B stage. Our view of both stages was fantastic and apparently we weren’t the only ones who thought that this was a good place to see the show. Rami Malek was sitting with his girlfriend 3 rows in front of me. Dexter Fletcher, the new director of the Bohemian Rhapsody movie, was sitting on the aisle 2 rows in front of riskylady, and Roger’s daughter and her friends were directly across the aisle from riskylady. Rami and Dexter were in the aisle talking quite animatedly before the show. They were obviously getting along quite well. Rami was very friendly to his fans after the show and a number of people in our section shook hands with him. Roger’s daughter, Tiger Lily, was beautiful with long blonde hair, which is hardly a surprise given her genetics. I had a suspicion early in the show that she was his daughter when she and her friends jumped to their feet and went crazy during Roger’s solos. I also saw Brian’s wife, Anita Dobson, walking through the VIP lounge the first night.

But aside from celebrity watching, we actually did see incredible shows both nights. The acoustics at the O2 Arena are excellent and the sound was perfect for us both nights. Adam was outstanding in every way. He is so confident now and his vocal power and range were mind boggling. I don’t know how he performs with such energy and perfection night after night. Roger also sounded great during his solos. Brian apologized for being a little hoarse the first night but sounded fine the second night. The show was fast paced with lots of energy throughout. The audiences were really warm and enthusiastic both nights. There was lots of singing along especially on the first night. They were also very accepting of Adam, as they should be given that he’s Brian and Roger’s “gift from God”. Other tidbits…GDML was especially steamy both nights. Also, Adam’s outfits for the European tour look really great. I especially liked outfit he wore at the beginning of the show, the black sparkly jumpsuit with the tie under the long sleeveless coat. It is very classy. And I absolutely love the gold cape. It is so dramatic and so quintessentially Adam.

Both shows were equally excellent and totally worth making the trip across the Atlantic to see them. Having an excuse to visit London in December with all the holiday decorations and drunken Santas made the trip even better.

Great review, mmm222 – sounds like an absolutely marvelous trip – and, as you said, definitely worth all the traveling – now, about Australia . . . .?
