Adam hosts the 2012 VH1 Divas event from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. This show is a benefit event for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation. The show airs live tonight at 6 PM PST (9 PM EST) in the United States on VH1 (see world clocks below for Red Carpet and show times in your area). Adam will be performing at least a couple of songs in addition to his hosting duties, we know that one of them will be a Madonna song. Rumor has it (from interpretation of rehearsal photos) that it will be “Vogue”. A “red shoes” reference in a tweet from @Wildaboutmusic seem to suggest that Adam will also perform David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”.
Update: Adam did indeed perform “Let’s Dance” to open the show. The Madonna song turned out to be “Ray of Light”. Adam (along with Kelly Rowland and Kerri Hilson) also performed “Hot Stuff” in a tribute to Donna Summer.
According to an insider tweet (see below) “Adam will sing more than any host in VH1 Divas history”, so there may a surprise or two in store for us as well!

I think Adam did a great job. I really do!
But,
upon further reflectionafter the fact, he really didn’t have a “moment”, did he?He didn’t do one of his glorious glory notes that makes everyone’s jaw drop.
I was waiting for one and I didn’t hear it.
That aside, I think he did a wonderful job hosting the show.

So I gave it another listen. How hard can it be to turn up someone’s mic, Mister sound guy? Isn’t that essentially their job?
It’s a bit painful to think Adam sounded better on Hot Stuff when he was completely jet-lagged and didn’t have the words memorized and was singing at a little radio concert. I do think technology did him no favors today.

I didn’t like the choice of Ray of Light. He sounded off pitch in the beginning, seemed to be having earpiece problems, but it got better in the end. Kelly was great, love her engagement ring. Miley was better than I expected. Demi was off pitch a bit too. Jordin was fabulous, looked gorgeous and sounded great. Overall, a very entertaining show and I hope Adam gets to do more hosting of other shows. He really did well for a first time hoster. 
I saw two slips on the steps in the Elmo jacket. That floor was slippery!! Adam did a great job overall. He was busy!!

Well that was fun! I thought Adam was fabulous! He did great! The opening mocumentary was hilarious, he was relaxed, charming, gracious, and divalicious throughout, his costumes were varied and unpredictable (and always interesting or fun or sexy), and I thought all of his performances were great! He was hesitant at the beginning of Ray of Light, as though he was unsure of the sound or the key, but that only lasted very briefly and then he settled into the song and pretty much nailed it from there on. I thought it sounded great. And he was great on the Donna Summer tribute, too. I have absolutely no complaints, except that I would have loved to have had more Adam hosting bits. Bottom line: He was wonderful, he had fun, and he made it fun for me as a viewer. I’m really proud of him!
My favorite costume of Adam’s was for the Donna tribute. I LOVE the Elmo coat (and those pants), but WOW I loved that snakeskin coat he changed into as well.
And put me down for digging the Ray of Light tunic! I’m always up for enjoying what Adam dishes up. It’s all fun and unpredictable and keeps us guessing!
Highlights of the show for me:
– Any and all parts with Adam talking, singing, or mugging for the camera, of course
– the Whitney Tribute (Jordin was great!)
– the Natasha Bedingfield, Iggy Azalea, and Bootsy song was a rocking good time
– I thought Miley actually did pretty well
Low points:
– Both songs by Metric. Sorry, she was NOT impressive
– Paloma didn’t do anything for me
