Exciting times are upon us as July begins! Adam has just completed an outstanding first full length concert with Queen at a charity event in Kiev, Ukraine (as captured in the photo above). Five more Queen + Adam Lambert concerts are lined up for Moscow, Wroclaw (Poland) and London during the next couple of weeks. Adam will then return to the United States to play a series of solo concerts during the second half of the month, including gigs in Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Des Moines, Thackerville (Oklahoma), and a much anticipated return to the site of one of his first and most memorable concerts at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. All told, Adam will perform in 10 live concerts this month, which will make this his busiest month for live performances since November 2010 when he was in the European portion of the Glam Nation Tour. I just want to say to anyone thinking of going to one of Adam’s remaining concerts. Just go! Do not hesitate. There really is no way of knowing when he’ll have a tour. And for the Iowa folks… Bring an umbrella for the sun (or rain if it happens).

I agree that we have to take advantage of every opportunity to see him when we can. His career path is moving and moving fast. We have to be able to keep up.
As far as the venue goes they don’t allow umbrellas so we are all stocking up with stuff to keep us going. Sunscreen, neck coolers, cooling cloths, hats and plenty of water.

However he appears to be booked solid with tour dates through October and into November, with more international dates expected into 2013. So not sure how that would work with AI schedule. Four judge panel also rumored as a possibility. Hopefully everything will be known soon.
Otherwise, AL has graciously agreed to handle the next round of live concert threads, as I will be traveling once again. We’ll have threads for San Antonio (Six Flags) on July 26, Thackerville (Winstar Casino) on July 27, and Des Moines (Summer Concert) on July 28.
Well, it’s my turn to be Debbie Downer this evening.
I am beginning to get a very negative vibe about this American Idol judging thing for Adam. He has made it very clear that he is ready, willing, and able to tackle this position. Clearly, if they want him for the panel then what is the holdup? I do understand the negotiation aspect of this whole thing. However, in the meantime additional names are continually being “seriously considered”. Yep, this is bringing out the Debbie Downer in me.
I am a big believer in if it is meant to happen, it will. If not, it won’t. Of course, we know that the upside of his not being selected for the panel would be that Adam may be able to begin his tour sooner rather than later. That is all well and good for us, but I feel Adam will be disappointed if he doesn’t land the position. I am hoping that this whole thing hasn’t been just a big tease.

I saw this post over on MJ’s and want to thank Adamland for her research on Brad Paisley. This is all so crazy right now with names flying all over the place. How many of them are just rumors? But still, if they really want Adam….
I would think particularly with Adam who has a huge fan base, they will add as much drama to the situation as possible to pull interest in Idol. We won’t get to know for sure for a good while…DRAMA!!!! Just the annual contract negotiations were always surrounded in so much public drama remember? Then when Steven and Jennifer were being added to the show, it went on forevah until it was finally announced…..I think he is perfect for the show, will take the show to a new level just like he did when he was a competitor, but they will make us wait!

dcglam…I am usually the Debbie Downer! I’m looking at this an important job interview just like in “real life”. Human resources will see many people, it may take weeks, if not months and then you get that phone call…either yes or no. Adam is so articulate, intelligent, animated, all the adjectives we use so often. If he is not chosen it will be interesting to see who will be and how they compare to Adam. We can already see the differences between Adam & the diva they just signed. And that includes her connection Randy Jackson. Yup, it’s not what you know but who you know and that has me worried it won’t happen.
And I used to believe in the “if it is meant to happen it will, etc. etc.” but from following Adam and what he said after Burning Man that he had to go out there and MAKE it happen, I don’t anymore.

JLo was reported as signed as a judge on July 29, 2010, but not official until Sept 22.
Steven Tyler was rumored, but first discussed publicly that he had been made an offer on August 2, and was confirmed also on Sept 22.
We have awhile to wait.
For all we know, Adam is the one holding the cards here…perhaps he’s doing a bit of negotiating with AI himself in order to get the best possible deal. It’s all horse-trading in that business isn’t it?

Krad, Mariah has been working on a new album that will be released in the near future — not sure when.
Kradamour she last toured in 2010, but is supposed to have another album out this year. She took a little break to have twins. lol
dcglam Jlo was announced in the summer but not Officially by Idol until Sept.
Tyler was saying on August 2 that he was talking to them and “reportedly signed” on Aug 18 but was not “Official’ until Sept 22.
But they were still throwing other names out there after the Reportedly signed announcements.
I want to see Adam endorse and advertise this product.

Mariah being signed does not make me happy at all. I just don’t care for her and never have. Who is worth 18 million dollars? I know I’ll get used to her, but, she better have actual judging ability.
If Adam becomes a judge or mentor, I’m now of the opinion that he will be great, and his career will only grow. He will charm the pants off of America.

And in other news…I just got my new Rolling Stone. Cover article is “Justin Bieber: HOT READY LEGAL”. Photo of him in a white wife-beater. Someone in the article makes the point that no one has ever had to grow up like JB. “ever, in the history of humanity”. Well, I wouldn’t go that far, but I do feel sorry for the kid. There is one really great photo in it of him, he actually looks a little like Adam in it, reminded me of the photo of Adam looking off to the side in the blue jacket that Lee Cherry did. JB seems like actually kind of a nice kid, but not overly bright or engaged. He needs a mom like Leila.
I think one of the reasons for the delay in announcing the next Idol judge is to give Mariah her day in the sun.

Kradamour…Just finished reading the RS article. I came to the conclusion what you said…”not overly bright”. The article tried to make him out to be more mature now that he’s 18. I find him to be an annoying brat. IMO
rainbowgal4, you could be right in that this all could have been part of the deal (with Manager Randy – ha). My thinking has been why in the world is everything signed, sealed, and delivered so early with Mariah when Adam’s name actually was out there before hers. Evidently, Randy is taking good care of her.

With the ego the diva has there would be no way someone like Adam would be announced before her. There is such a pecking order organized not around talent but around who caters to who’s ego. Adam being as humble as he is is an exception to many of the entertainment rules. I hope he NEVER looses that.
