Exciting times are upon us as July begins! Adam has just completed an outstanding first full length concert with Queen at a charity event in Kiev, Ukraine (as captured in the photo above). Five more Queen + Adam Lambert concerts are lined up for Moscow, Wroclaw (Poland) and London during the next couple of weeks. Adam will then return to the United States to play a series of solo concerts during the second half of the month, including gigs in Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Des Moines, Thackerville (Oklahoma), and a much anticipated return to the site of one of his first and most memorable concerts at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. All told, Adam will perform in 10 live concerts this month, which will make this his busiest month for live performances since November 2010 when he was in the European portion of the Glam Nation Tour. As always, enjoy the chat!

This is a cute, clever, and funny little video about comments from “haters” on youtube videos. Adam certainly isn’t the only one who gets nasty comments on the internet – unfortunately, it’s partly the nature of the beast.

Thank you rainbowgal4 for your explanation. I am very interested in cultural differences and as a psychologist in a multicultural society I dealt with it my whole professional life. I remember a wonderful lecture at a conference in California about how children of Chinese heritage were so confused in kindergatten when they were chastised for sharing food from their plate with their friends, since at home it is such an accepted, and honorable thing to do.

I might have misunderstood, though, I thought that the VIPs that they were talking about were the “big spenders” from the casino, the high rollers who frequent the place and drop huge amounts of money there. They wouldn’t be the types to like Adam either. Somehow, I have the feeling that if Adam saw that the VIPs were Native Americans, he would have respected them and not teased them.

I might have misunderstood who was up front also. And could Adam tell if they were Native or not. My partner can move in the “white” culture as non Native because she comes from Louisiana. She doesn’t look like the Natives around here. Now when she travels with the Natives they know she is without a doubt. I never felt discrimination until I’m with her and her “people”. They nod at her, smile and even talk to her. Me – I might as well be Casper the ghost. LOL Interesting info on the Chinese students. We as a society are just not good at making room for other cultures which is sad because we could learn so much from each other.

From Entertainment Weekly re: American Idol

Despite some reports to the contrary, veteran judge Randy Jackson (who, as it so happens, is Carey’s manager and was involved in her negotiations) is now expected to stay on board, though nothing has yet been announced. “We have a close relationship with Randy, he’s a very important part of the television show,” Reilly said. “Within the next week or so we’ll confirm that.”

Either way, Fox is expected to now focus on its search for another male judge. One dark horse (and attractively low budget) candidate is former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert. Reilly notes there are plenty of possible candidates including some “nobodies,” but suspects the new judge will be “something to talk about.” Reilly expects to have the rest of the panel firmed up within the next two weeks.

Hey, even my MOM knows about Adam’s potential new job!!

I never, and I mean never, talk about Adam with my family. They don’t get it and never will. So, last night, my mom and I were talking, and she brings it up ” did you know that Adam Lambert is going to be the new judge on American Idol?”

So, I paused, and said, “yes” but it isn’t final at all, it’s still just entertainment rumors. Then she said “oh, I hope he gets it, because then you could see him every week.”

Muwahahahahaa. Oh she just doesn’t know, I see him everyday anyway. Every single day.

  11. milwlovesadam says:

Thanks CWM for your goodies here and on the FS thread.

I already love your mom, mils— looking out for her daughter!! I have to admit that I am engaging in the exact same conversation with my family members. I am very happy to hear that this possibility is newsworthy in itself — getting our boy out there. I think they are looking for a talented, intelligent, articulate, and musically experienced male judge with an edge who won’t break their bank. They want someone who will keep peeps talking and interested. Yep, Adam is their man (IMHO).

And yes, Kradamour, I can’t take it much longer either!SweatWaiting

    Heidi | 1 hour ago

I’m happy with Mariah so long as she doesn’t just say a few standard phrases (you look so pretty, or baby that didn’t work for me)… I don’t want a Paula Abdul, I want someone who has something to say.
As for Adam Lambert, I just feel he’s a baby himself in the industry but with an ego the size of mars! I think he’ll be harsh and kinda fake. Not my choice, though with Mariah eating up so much of the budget they may have to shoot for a newer artist.

    Gilron | 0 minutes ago

mars? To destroy something? To inflict serious bodily harm? Adam Lambert has an ego the size of which will cause bodily harm is your comment. Or did you mean Mars the planet? Of course you did. I’m being as purposely stupid as is your stupid declaration that Adam has a huge ego. Mars, by the way, is the second SMALLEST planet in this galaxy.

    Give me an example.

Yes, Adam is notorious for his huge ego in spite of his continuous tweets of support to his fellow artists to compliment their work. He could care less about other people in spite of the fact that he’s raised a few million dollars – give or take a dollar or two – for his Charities. Red Cross. Charity Waters. Trevor Project. Donor’s Choice. There’s another one but I can’t think of it now.

Most glaringly, if only he could have put his big ego aside to be able to pay a proper and appropriate, respectful tribute to Freddie Mercury when he recently fronted for Queen.

Oh Adam Lambert, wish you could get over that damn mars ego of yours!

Heidi – go jump off a Swiss alp.

    Was I harsh? Grin

My last bit of “advice” to Heidi was really not like me at all but, you know what? Razz to her.

I’m getting kinda crotchety in my old age for being just 29.

“”IF Adam becomes a judge there will be new and very specific rules to how we’ll go forward with show threads. “”

From tonight at MJ’s. Man, she’s already planning on negativity and fanwars.

The speculation is that she would have a separate thread for the contestants and one for Adam’s performance as a judge.

I’m dropping a comment in the thread about 3 new fresh judges.

This fits with the comment that got made today about the next judge won’t be a household name and will give people something to talk about.

turquiosewaters–the feelings I felt cannot be expressed when that “beautiful” man disappeared from sight and we finally figured out he was GONE!!!! 23. sparkle says:

Regarding American Idol – Ron – the quote was really that the third judge will be “something to talk about”, as opposed to someone to talk about? Very odd but Adam fits the bill – he would definitely give the audience something to talk and think about all the time!! And I love your Swiss Alp comment! Too funny – not too harsh!

  24. dcglam says:

mils, a poster on that thread is suggesting to MJ that she run a totally separate thread based on Adam’s performance as a judge. Can you imagine such a thread??? Rolls Eyes

  29. rainbowgal4 says:

Ya – Could you imagine the hell they would go through if we could request an unlimited times! LOL Good on our end bad on Mr. Allen’s side. I read some of his tweets and it appears that the planning and running of the show is his responsibility. That makes me wonder how many Glamberts will be there???

  30. milwlovesadam says:

rainbow, I swear, if we travel all the way there, sit in 100 degree heat all day, endure other bands, and only get 4 songs , …..I don’t know how I’ll feel.

Of course the upside will be seeing all of you.

    And maybe the spikey shorts.

  31. milwlovesadam says:

Maybe you could tweet him and ask him to make Adam’s set longer. Seriously. He may need to ask for a city council resolution to extend the park hours!! JK

please see FS thread, I left you a message

You took the words right out of my mouth. I’ve been praying every day that that doesn’t happen to us. If so his time on stage will go by like a speeding bullet.

And yes the upside is having dinner with everybody. That part will help soften the blow of a 4 or 5 song show. He’d better put on a good one if that’s the case. Usually his third night on the road is the best show. (fingers, leg, anything else is crossed!!)

  33. Ceddies says:

Hi guys! My plans have changed regarding the Des Moines concert attendance. Several issues were at play. In part, it’s the distance that I would have to travel (drive) alone. This usually would not bother me, but I have a health problem that would make it unsafe for me to travel alone that far with possibility of emergency services needed along the way. It really saddens me because I had so much wanted to meet those of you who are going to be there. I was SO looking forward to the dinner the nite before. You guys were really more important than getting to hear Adam possibly sing only four songs, and I’ve seen him before and will see him again.

Another issue is the heat. I would be concerned about staying hydrated enough to not make my condition worse. It’s better that I make alternate plans.

So, I now have a ticket that cost a total of $176 that is available if anyone would want it–any amount that you might want to offer me would be appreciated. Even if you have the Gold Circle seating, this ticket would allow you to move around all afternoon and enjoy the benefits of both worlds. If anyone is interested, email me at jgoing2@gmail.com, and I will get it to you.

I guess I should put this on the planning thread also, so I’m gone to do that right now.

AL, that’s my cry now! Who is going to Winstar? I seem to recall that nkd, Texaswannaholdem, and Wyked Whyspers are planning to go. I’M GOING TO WINSTAR. My little friend who went with me to see Adam in Tunica and New Orleans is gonna go with me. The drive will be 8.5 hours v about 13-14 hours to Des Moines. Tickets are only $29 total. I’ll save on gasoline too. Will only require one nite away from home.

  36. Kradamour says:

ceddies didn’t mention it, but the ticket she has includes two full meals under a tent, 8 beverages, and AIR CONDITIONED POTTIES!
I thought those things were worth mentioning…it would make the long day MUCH nicer. Other performers include Train and Neon Trees.

I will take that ticket that you have and I will pay you the full amount. We just need to figure out how I can get the money to you and the ticket to me.

  41. wyked_whyspers says:

Hello everyone! Yes I am going to Winstar also. I am driving from Little Rock which is only about six hours. Unfortunately my current circumstances will not allow me to stay the night so I will be driving home after the concert. I can easily be there a couple of hours prior to the concert to meet up with anyone willing and able. I could do something quick afterwards but not for very long. I greatly look forward to meeting some of you, this will be a first for me meeting up with people from this very wonderful blog. I only wish you could all be there!

I have seen Adam three times so far, once on the American Idol tour and twice on the Glamnation tour. I has been two years already since then and I am very excited to get to see him now. I really think if he becomes a judge on AI his tour plans will be later than anticpated, not as many opportunities as last time and maybe parcelled out over a longer period of time. I think anyone with half a chance better grab it now.

I will write a recap when I get home, but I dont have a cell and my only camera is an actual video camera, so I wont be doing either of those. Sorry.

Kradamour I left you a short message on the planning thread.

  42. nkd says:

YAY!!! I’m so excited for everyone getting to go to Winstar. Yes, TexasWHE, aely and I are attending. I do not know the casino and what is available there, but do want to meet up with everyone!
Ceddies, I’m so excited to get to see you again and that you get an opportunity to see Adam even though your previous plans did not work for you.
I have been swamped with other issues and have not spent much time on this concert trip. Maybe Texas knows more about what’s there.

  43. Ceddies says:

Thank you, Ron, for the sweet message and for your thoughtfulness.

rainbowgal4, thank you. I sent a reply on the Planning thread.

wyked whyspers, I’m glad you’re still planning to go to Winstar. Have you signed onto the Planning thread? I forgot to look to see if you have.

nkd, I’m glad you finally were able to join in the discussion about Winstar. We know you’ve got a lot going on right now. This trip should help a little with the stress, hopefully. It will be great to see you again. I posted more on the Planning thread, and I guess that’s where this stuff should go. I had just looked at the restaurants shown on the Winstar website and noticed Toby Keith’s place among others. I didn’t check for anything outside the casino area. I wouldn’t think there’s much, but there may be. Hopefully Texas will know.

  44. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

I’m so excited to get a chance to meet so many peeps at Winstar on Friday night! Let’s all get together for dinner before the show – I’ll check out options in and around the casino. This will be my first time on the “Planning Thread” (shivers with excitement!!)

Well, I do have family just outside Toronto so I could always work in a family trip. Haven’t seen my mom since 2004 and my brother since 2000 so I guess it’s about time. And I thought it was “do” fries and “curl” each others hair. Mine is a little too short now (hair that is) but I could grow it out. Grin

Why not? I cut my partner’s hair. It’s in our genes so they say. Wink I had a friend who tried to convince me to go into hairdressing. He had his own salon and said that “blue-haired” ladies tip very well when a male hairdresser rubs against them as he styles their hair. Blush Laugh ROTFL
