Exciting times are upon us as July begins! Adam has just completed an outstanding first full length concert with Queen at a charity event in Kiev, Ukraine (as captured in the photo above). Five more Queen + Adam Lambert concerts are lined up for Moscow, Wroclaw (Poland) and London during the next couple of weeks. Adam will then return to the United States to play a series of solo concerts during the second half of the month, including gigs in Costa Mesa, Sacramento, Des Moines, Thackerville (Oklahoma), and a much anticipated return to the site of one of his first and most memorable concerts at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. All told, Adam will perform in 10 live concerts this month, which will make this his busiest month for live performances since November 2010 when he was in the European portion of the Glam Nation Tour. As always, enjoy the chat!

I just posted a post! and it didn’t post

I have some posts wandering around the ethernet. Expect them to
show up on inappropriate threads at anytime.

    Messed up that quote.

Hi guys, I just rescued several posts from the spam filter and moderation queue. I know one of them had many many links which sends it to moderation automatically, looks like the others were just false positives by the spam checking program. I’m supposed to get an email when posts are sent to spam or moderation but didn’t for some reason in this case. Sorry for the delay. I’m traveling back to Key West Monday then heading to LA Wednesday.

It’s so quiet here! I was looking for a little AL fix as I go into withdrawal. But instead I’ll share a twitter convo I had. I don’t know how to copy tweets properly but here goes:

@gettingspending OMG Queen + @AdamLambert INCREDIBLE!!!! THANK YOU! DVD prettyprettyprettypretty PLEASE!?!

    9:47 AM – 15 Jul 12 via web · Details
    8 Jul Lisa Lisa ‏@lisamarieLML

@gettingspending @QueenRockBand go listen to Marc Martel, he is the one who should be fronting Queen, anyone else is a JOKE.

    15 Jul ‏@gettingspending
@lisamarieLML @QueenRockBand sorry hon, Martel IS a great singer, but Lambert is that PLUS a mesmerising showman, like Freddie was.

    15 Jul @lisamarieLML
@gettingspending @QueenRockBand pleas do not compare Lambert to Freddie in any way even as a showman….there will NEVER be another Freddie.

Really like Jian on Q – great interview – both very handsome and attractive men.

  8. ultimathule says:

So sick of that “there’ll never be another Freddie” meme – well, duh – that goes without saying, doesn’t it. Why these people keep repeating themselves and boring us to death with the same stuff – awful.

Thanks renata. That is a beautiful beautiful interview. I think we’ve seen it before, but, it is just wonderful. Man, I dare anyone living to see this and not just love him.

  11. milwlovesadam says:

ultimat, it’s a very hard line. I do overall think that Adam walked that line very very well in his shows.

The only thing I wish he had done, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, is that I wish he had not been so wonderfully gracious. I think he held back from going more OTT in his stage presence in order to be respectful of Freddie’s memory. We all know that we have seen Adam more OTT. LA finale anyone? Cologne WLL? Amsterdam WLL? Fever??? He was fierce, alot, but he didn’t stay fierce long enough with Queen. Adam was just clearly out of his frigging mind with joy to be on stage with Queen. At the EMA’s he was so fierce you could feel it jumping out of the TV at you.

Freddie was fierce all through his shows. That’s what some reviewers are hinting at, that’s the missing piece.

Adam was fierce, then smiley. I love it. That’s part of what endears him so much, he is so sexual one minute, then just adorable the next. Freddie was many things, but “adorable” wasn’t one of them.

I hope that if he has more Queenbert shows that he will go “there” with his performances. Vocally, OMG, I have no complaints or concerns. He nailed it to the wall every song every show. That’s our boy!

  12. Calgary says:

Thanks, Renata. Being 29+, I listen to CBC radio, never think to watch radio! So I heard the interview when it first aired a few months ago, but it’s way more fun to see it! I had no idea that Q is aired in much of the US too, until I read a feature on Jian this past Saturday in the Globe & Mail:

  13. dcglam says:

mils… I think there are a couple of reasons why Adam may have been more reserved than what we are used to seeing. I feel that Adam was being respectful of the fact that it was Queen’s show, and he didn’t in any way want to make it about himself. Also, he had to be somewhat unsure of a portion of the audience. The comfort level was not the same as it is during his own shows with all of his loving Glamberts on board. That said, I feel he matched his performances perfectly to the situation and the audience. I’m sure we will get a much “looser” Adam during his Trespassing tour. Wink

  14. glambotgram says:

Calgary some people will never accept anyone except Freddie. I loved Freddie but I really think he has become bigger than life, after his death. There were a lot of missteps made by Freddie, just look up some of his off key and sour notes performances. Marc Martel? No where near Adam. What cracks me up about these people is when they pull out the gay comments. Hello! I guess they want to pretend Freddie was straight.

  15. glambotgram says:

Posted this on the 14th show thread. Talc is reporting that they have HQ audio of the Sat night performance, they will share soon. Laugh Yes

  16. turquoisewaters says:

mils: For me: Keep the fierce, keep the adorable (like braking into a laugh in Fat-Bottomed Girls), keep the playfulness (like the impromptu Chaka Khan number during WB introductions), get rid of the goofy things (making faces etc) and the too corny sexual moves.

  17. milwlovesadam says:

You guys are both right, IMHO. Isn’t it funny how time tends to erase people’s memory of the “truth?”

Freddie described himself in an early interview, before Queen hit it big in the UK as “queer as a daffodil, my dear.”

Then he seemed to go back into the closet, as it were, until his death. But everyone knew. Everyone who had half a brain!!

Interesting that that interviewer’s hero is Bowie. Hmmm.

Here are some short interviews before and after the show at the Hammersmith from a few of the thousands who actually attended the concerts. This is what really counts! You may recognize some of the interviewees!

Listened to a few of those AL. Very nice. One dyed in the wool GN Dutch Glambert ( 3rd row down 2nd from right), and Adam Tidd (4th row down and 3rd from left) . The Glambert really knows her Adam stuff. The guy is a long time Queen fan, who really gets it too. I loved what he had to say about Brian May.

I think Adam made a lot of new fans in London. Imma happy fan.

nkd, the DVD was perfection. Although I nearly slid off my treadmill in a stupor from WWTLF!!

  23. Oksana2000 says:

I must be a masochist. Just came back from MJ’s. Any thread that involves Adam changes into witches Sabbath pretty quickly. Fans of failed Idols ( and it’s so easy to spot them) are puffing and huffing and putting Adam down with every sentence. The most irritating are Kris’ fans even tho apart from Lee DeWyze Kris is the biggest failure of crowned Idols.
I don’t think that outside of Idol bubble peeps even know who Kris and both Davids are. Seriously. Just ask your hairdresses…. Smile

Thanks for posting those interviews, AL! Very entertaining. I just finished listening to ALL of them! Cut a few short but mainly listened to them all. I know two interviewees (one is a frequent poster here) and one Toronto Glambert was in the background at some point. Should I have recognized more?

Out of 68 interviews, only two … and they were two guys … who weren’t impressed with Adam. One said, I think that Adam was either “quite good” or “Okay” but I definitely remember him saying “that his own music is the shits”. That WOULD kind of stand out to me. Smile The other guy just didn’t like Adam at all.

So 66 Yes and 2 No is not too shabby. Smile

Mils I left a message on the planning thread. So many pictures, videos and reviews and so little time. My mind can hardly handle it all, but what fun.

  31. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Was just doing a quick check of all my “Adam sites” – there are a couple of polls over at 24/7, for “Best Pop Male Star” and “Top Pick to Judge American Idol”… Adam sure has some devoted fans – he’s killing the competition in both polls (but keep on voting!)

  32. ultimathule says:

Maybe he should do a second night at take40?

  33. Ellessay says:

Interesting juxtaposition. I’ve got one of the long concert videos playing while I check my twitter feed. I’m watching Adam, triumphant with the audience cheering with arms in the air, and then switch over to see how my local radio station is doing. For a few days they were playing NCOE and WWFM both, but now there is nothing. Neither one. They’re still playing Kris, but nothing from Adam. It’s not looking good for attracting Adam to come perform in this area. You can’t see me but I’m pouting. Why is it so hard for radio to just play the darn song? It’s Adams remarkable voice singing a Bruno Mars song…and it can’t get played? You guys are right. We’re going to lose him.

  34. ultimathule says:

Does anyone remember the interview where the interviewer said that Adam didn’t try to get him (the interviewer) to like him and it made him like Adam even more?

  35. ultimathule says:

I hate radio, Ellessay, with a white-hot, burning passion. If it were the sixties, I’d probably go around blowing these phoney/using-the-boy-for-hits up. Now I can only think about it. Not entirely without its pleasures.

  36. Miss Chaos says:

Ellessay, I feel what you feel, I heard Kris too in a store not too long ago. I just dont get why they dont play Adam, dont get it at all. Only thought is if you magnify what the crap and awful feelings that people at MJs have towards Adam, and its nice over there compared to other sites that I dont go on, people just hate him, and I dont get it. Dont get it at all. They dont understand him, dont get his voice, dont get how great and wonderful he performs, and you will never get them to change there minds. He has a lot of hate. Because he is gay? IDK. People love Elton John, they love Neil Patrick Harris, they love Ricky Martin, they love Ellen, on and on. I dont know what the answer is or the problem is, but there is one, and it is never going away over here, I really hope he turns into a big star in other parts of the world, he will never be a star here, Never! He needs to put all his energy into being a star in the rest of the world, this country will never accept him. I hate it with a passion, but its the stone cold truth. We still will be able to enjoy his success, and be proud of it, but playing to these small places for his following is such a waste of his energy.

Case in point, Kris isnt selling, but he is at a Boston baseball game, and MJ said WooHoo, like its a big stinkin deal. Adam played to huge crowds in Russia, Poland and London, and people had to beg to talk about it, I just dont get it.

  37. firstimerob says:

What really gets me angry is a couple people at MJ’s said Queen would of had those crowds no matter who fronted them. I swear I have to stop going there.

  38. Xoxo says:

The problem tho is most often than not, the rest of the world takes their lead from America. Have you ever wondered why the same artists chart here and abroad?
American Top 40 is broadcasted (?) in almost every country around the world. If you are unable to crack that, most countries would not add you unto their playlists.
Adam is not even charting in most of the countries he charted the first era despite the fact they know he has new music out. They are not playing him because America is not playing him. Let him be on Top 40 today and you would see most of them jumping on that bandwagon again.
Useless American radio is just that powerful.

  39. ultimathule says:

I do go there, firstimerob – under a different name (disqus) and plant a sweet annoying Adam-bomb there once in a while. Managed to annoy a few Adam-haters recently – sweet revenge. (And, of course, revenge is best served cold – the proprieties must be observed – lol.)

  40. ultimathule says:

MJ can “whoo hoo” all she wants, Miss Chaos, but Kris is still a huge flopperoo. Who even knows him outside of AI. (And I actually like some of the tracks from his new album.)

  41. turquoisewaters says:

I share all your radio frustration. Radio has become just a tool for advertising. I remember when it was so much more.

  42. ultimathule says:

Sometimes think Adam should go for broke – do a video of a song with a beautiful guy – bet the views for that would hit the roof.

  43. turquoisewaters says:

Inhale. Exhale. Not every 30-year-old gets to front Queen.

  44. turquoisewaters says:

Haha ultimathule. I like your spirit! It would probably be removed for reasons of indecency by some family values group. But dang! I’d download it in a split second.

  45. Oksana2000 says:

Miss Chaos, it’s baseball,it’s Kris, it’s happening on American soil so for MJ it has higher pecking order than Adam with Queen playing somewhere in EAstern Europe and UK.
What really makes me laugh is discussion why Kris is not being promoted internationally. And why should he?

  46. firstimerob says:

My blockquote thingy went away, how do I get it back?

Ultimathule…………….good for you sweet bombs are cool. I will probably go back. Chokehold.

  47. Ron says:

Would you consider clicking on a link for Perez Hilton’s site to give him a “hit”, earning him a few cents, and making him all that more popular?

Think of MJ’s in that same context.

Now there’s a doorway that I’ll never darken again.

I’ve never understood though how anyone could darken a doorway?

I’d like to think that I’d lighten a doorway.

I guess it would help if the front porch light was on.

  48. turquoisewaters says:

Xoxo: good point. I have hopes that England will work out better this time around, because of the Queen publicity. (And because Trespassing is a superior album.) Sometimes these things take time.

  49. firstimerob says:

Ron……….The porch light just went on, very good point.

  50. ultimathule says:

    Lotta porch lights on, Ron
