iHeart Red Carpet
Adam-HungerTVAdam+Stewie-AttitudeAdam+Nikki-iHeartRedCarpet

The calm after the end of QAL in February didn’t last long – thank the universe – and the roll-out to TOH appears nicely underway. We had the Sunrise/AU interview on 3/18, followed by the MiniMTV one on 3/20, the Hunger Mag major Q&A (with spectacular pics by Rankin) on 3/24, Attitude Mag’s great article (sold-out, of course), ending up with the iHeart Red Carpet appearance. But the big news, of course, was the Ghost Town snippet and the interest it engendered. April looks to be even more interesting, with the single release on the 21st – good times ahead.

Enjoy the chat!

Adam Lambert will release his new single “Ghost Town”, which was co-produced by Max Martin, this Tuesday, April 21st at 12 midnight ET. [just after 11:59 PM Monday]

Visit adamofficial.com this Tuesday for the world premiere of “Ghost Town” and pre-order information for his upcoming album The Original High.

Off to the gym. Can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of the Ellen performance once they get home. Have a lovely afternoon everyone.

Ok getting really sick of Twitter and this whole fandom today.

On one hand I can understand the Tommy fans that they are sad and want to know what happened and if he really has left the band. But they need to calm down. Its not the end. No one knows anything at all.

On the other hand – ffs the haters are so hurtful. The fans who are sad still persons, some very young persons and I cant stand the hypocrisis some of them are showing right now. This gloating absolute ruins it for me.

What I am really sad about…Its one big mile stone for Adam to be back on national TV singing his song. But what are the ppl talking about most of the time? His backing band…

Maybe it would have been better for them to clear things up before. Just one tweet from Tommy or someone else and everything would have been over days ago…

All this drama going on on Twitter makes me sick. I thought the fandom was a nice place without hate or hurt. Lesson learnt…done with my rant.

    Sorry

ETA: Just watched the performance. Have one word to say about and for Adam: Perfect!

  9. rs says:

Cait I know that those twitter rants and ravings can be upsetting, but just remember, the majority of people who will see Adam on Ellen are totally clueless as to these things and will just enjoy Adam’s performance for what it is, as you said: Perfect! It is only the core fanbase who is even aware who his band is or that there might be any drama going on behind the scenes. And, of course, it is just the OTT fans reacting, we have no idea what is happening with Adam and Tommy. And Tommy was at Danielle’s party last week, so probably no drama between them

  10. luval says:

Trying again to post. I agree with this.

The band may be just people hired for a few performances, it doesn’t mean they will be there forever.

  11. luval says:

OMG, Adam on Ellen was perfect!!!!! Amazing!!!!

Guys I am sorry for my last post. A friend died today. It was all a bit much. Lost his fight with cancer. Reading all that bs on Twitter made me so angry. Really sorry

  14. rs says:

So sorry for your loss, Cait . Cancer is a bitch! Too many people close to me (to many of us) have been touched by this horrible disease. I also recently lost a friend.

  15. TLKC says:

Sorry to hear about your loss, Cait. Real life certainly has a way of putting things into perspective and I wish I could hug you right now.

Focus on your heart and your friend’s family and wait for things to blow over.

“Twitter is the devil”, as Adam has said, and I pretty much stay away from it except for the periods when trending really matters to Adam. The sad part is that the fighting sends some people packing, if only for a day, and Adam loses out.

  16. renataademelo says:

About Adam on Ellen. We don´t really take notice because Adam is such an amazing vocalist, but I get the impression that Ghost Town is really hard to sing live. He sings almost the entire song in his lower register. His voice is just perfect.

  17. glambotgram says:

I love Adam in white, always have. I don’t know if it is because I have listened to Ghost Town so many times or what, but this is the first time EVER I can say I like the recorded song better than his live version today. It just sounded off somehow to me.

It seems like he should be able to get on some more shows. I am wondering if they are keeping things more secret to keep the same Glamberts from clogging up the audiences.

  18. glambotgram says:

I wonder if Adam got to talk to those two teens that were on the show. What a great story.

  19. TLKC says:

I was wondering the same thing. Also wonder if he got to meet Scarlett Johanssen. When you add in surprise guest Chris Evans, today’s show was great.

  20. Kradamour says:

Just watched the YouTube…I love this song so much, but I fear it will always be better recorded than live, and I have NEVER preferred an Adam song recorded!
That whistle does go on for a minute, and live, it breaks the momentum. Adam almost looked like he was looking for something to do.
Or, it may have sounded just a wee bit off – as some have said – because he may have been feeling a tetch of nerves. First live performance of his own new music since what seems like a decade, and it might seem that way to him, too.
In the energy of a concert this will all come out in the wash, but as a performance on a talk show, not so much.
Going away now to watch the video a few dozen more times! Can’t get enough!

HD quality vid of the show performance, finally! In the first one I saw picture was blurry and narrow (!), then the second and the stream was very wide. This one finally showed me Adam’s face and expressions. And how beautiful he looked in white!

  25. luval says:

I love the Ellen version much more than the recorded version. But he did seem a little nervous. I remember the same thing happened with BTIKM on Ellen…first live performance of that song on tv. Like he was tentative of every word & every note. I think it will get better too.

  26. skaschep says:

I’m so sorry to hear that Cait. Much strength for the next days. Hope you can find some peace in listening to Adam’s music. Don’t pay attention to twitter that much. Just see the positive notes of all the people who are flailing over how great they think his music is and him of course.

The 30th of April has been Queensday in our country for many years in celebration of our royal family, but since we have a King it got moved to the 27th of April (his birthday). It became somewhat traditional that at least one of the TV stations would also air something about Queen (appropriate of course being Queensday). They also did today by airing “The Days of Our Lives”. I missed the beginning but saw it through to the end. I’ve seen it before (probably also on Queensday sometime), but it still made me cry and sad.

Luckily when I got back to the computer the HD version of Adam’s performance on Ellen was just put online and that made me quite happy again. Loved the performance although you indeed can hear somewhat that he was a bit nervous and is still searching a bit on how to perform it. To me it seemed that when he get to the bridge he could let it go and it sounded almost perfect (also somewhat re-leaved from his side). Loved his reaction afterwards. Looked so happy to be able to perform this and that is was, although not perfect, a really great performance. He looked stunning also. Which is good to see in the HD version. The earlier Youtubes were a bit foggy and not clear.

PS: Seeing George Michael perform on the tribute concert in 1992 really showed me why everybody is comparing Adam at the moment with him. The resemblance is quite remarkable. Both in the way they look as in the way they both perform Somebody To Love.

  27. luval says:

Must be my computer but that Ellen HD version was the worst one of all for me of the “tubes”. Blurry all the way through.

  28. glambotgram says:

Cait So sorry for your loss, and don’t feel bad about your rant. This a safe place to rant and there was a crap load going around today to rant about. On another note sometimes I just love Shoshanna.

    Gisele ‏@giiih__ 2h2 hours ago

    @shoshannastone @TommyJoeRatliff left the band?

    ‏@shoshannastone

@giiih__ you know he’s a solo artist right?

    Short and to the point.

  29. luval says:

Again, maybe it’s my computer but looooooong time after “post comment” does it finally post. Buffering.

  30. LadyNorth says:

I agree with you luval and skaschep about a bit nervousness… But like you said skas, when he was able to belt those higher notes during bridge, he found his way Smile

  31. LadyNorth says:

luval, you have to change the resolution from the “wheel” on the vid – it’s set on 360p… make it 1080p.

And yes, site is buffering when posting for me too.

  32. luval says:

Am going to do that, Lady North, but now the video is buffering! Must be loads of people trying to watch it.

  33. turquoisewaters says:

I thought he did great, even though I could tell some nerves and tension. I liked how he made the “love is a satire” a bit angry. This song is really not easy to do live, and I am sure he will fine-tune all the little choices that must be made in a live performance.
He certainly looked good in all white. Adam in white pants? Where is millllsssss?
re band: Adam needs to pick a band he feels good about, not one his fans have nostalgic feelings for. IMHO.

  34. luval says:

turquoisewaters…she knows about them! Wish her computer problems were resolved.

I really don’t understand who this is…about the whistle.

  35. ultimathule says:

  36. glambotgram says:

luval it is Sterling Fox the guy who was talking about writing the song and releasing his own version. Strange I have never seen a writer behave like this guy.

Thanks, glambotgram. So he “supplied the whistle”. Hmmmmm. Mr Big Shot.

  40. ultimathule says:

Was wondering about GT and how it would be live – don’t think it’s the best type of song for live performance – too many gaps in the singing – tends to lose momentum – maybe a different arrangement? – but he looked magnificent and sang well overall.

I’m more interested in the recorded track and its success on radio – seems to be holding its own – when picked up the 10- and 12-year-old girls today (sudden request from parents), the older one picked up my ipod and plugged in GT – obviously likes it – played it twice – so that’s good – think I’ll send them to the radio stations – they know the lyrics to his songs better than I do – lol –

  46. adamized says:

LadyNorth thank you for the hint to turn the wheel to 1080p. Made a huge difference. I had almost given up on finding a decent way to watch. I thought he looked a bit lonely up there with no one to dance with. Maybe the Terrance, Brooke, and Sasha can come on tour??? The vocals sounded really good to me.

Cait, sorry to hear of your loss. Cancer has taken so many of my friends and family. It is always painful.

Twitter was a bit of an ugly place today. I find it hard to not feel some bit of protectiveness towards Tommy. After all he has been part of our Adam journey. It seems that those who follow him are worried about his mental health. So I think his fans are suffering from a combination of worry and sadness.

I don’t think Adam owes anyone an explanation but I’m disappointed that so many folks are being so caviler with others feelings. Yes, Adam is a solo performer but he seems to bond with his back up band and form friendships. Interesting how in today’s performance the band kept their heads down for large portions of the time. Was happy to see Cam back.

Baltimore has been a very sad place this past week. I work right downtown not far from where the worst rioting took place. We were sent home a few times and those who had to stay to take care of their patients and/or their labs were told to shelter in place. Meaning stay away from windows and door and not to leave without police escort.

The national guard came to town but luckily didn’t have much to do. Non-violent protests and clean up crews have been the events of the past few days.

Hopefully some good can come out of this. We need a better trained police force; better schools; better after school programs; job programs……… the list is pretty much endless.

    Have a peaceful night everyone.

That Ellen video keeps stopping at ‘gun slinging’ and leaving the page…shame because its excellent quality.

I loved the performance…agree the first couple of notes seemed a bit tentative..but I remember he did with BTIKM too….thought it was great…love the move of his hand beating on his chest to the beat, and some of the other moves…ending was great too.

Cait, so sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is a bitch.

That video of that fans recations watching GT for the first time was adorable……seems strange to see an Asian boy speaking with such a strong french accent though…(don’t mean that in a horrible way)

  49. mmm222 says:

I agree that GT is a tough song to sing live. Although Adam looked and sounded great on Ellen, I also prefer the recorded version. I was wondering how he’d pull off this song live. Maybe a even more acoustic version might work better with only a guitar and a drum and a backup whistle track. Remember the acoustic version of Sleepwalker that he did at some radio station, I believe in Australia? It was beautiful and still conveyed all the fierce emotion of the original version. Also, we have to keep in mind that Adam’s first live performance of a new song on TV is usually a little shaky. He always improves the delivery in subsequent performances. But overall, I really enjoyed it and was happy to see him performing live on US TV again.
