I’m sending it on to my son, who will be transferring to Canberra next June, along with his wife and family. His full territory will be Oceania, so he’ll be experiencing your lovely country firsthand, while remaining based in Oz. I think I shall perhaps be visiting there a bit too – always wanted to see the other side of the world

Well, since July 28th Toronto II anyway. Will never forget that night and the great Toronto gang there! Toronto I was great too. Your concert party, the crazy ride back to the airport with mils and back to Hamilton. Time just flies by too fast. I LOVE Toronto!!!

I think it is absolutely amazing that as many photos that we have
drooled overexamined during the past few years, we can still be surprised by oldies that suddenly surface. And they manage to keep us all happy, each of having having a personal preference: Luval needs hair and likes a little bit of glam, Mils is looking for bends and OTT, Nekkid is about the pants, Ulti likes the arty looking photos, others are about the freckles, etc etc and of course I am always looking for a cleanshaven face…so far this month, I think that all of our buttons were pushed with vintage photos…yup, our boy is just the gift that keeps on giving…Hi all,

Wasn’t he in a pic with others at a party(?) where they had a stripper pole and others were doin’ their thang on it – very hazy memory.
Also there was a pic where he’s lying on his back on top of an elephant(?) – pretty looped, I think.

I have the bit where he sings MTN, but not the part later in the café where he talks to Kurt. And I have the one with the selfie of the kiss on the cheek in Kurt’s apartment. I have looked for them on youTube but can’t find them. I am sure that someone here has them at their fingertips. Thanks so much.

I’d like to spend a year in Paris, too, Kradamour, as long as I could skip January and February.
The great thing about winter there, aside from post-holiday sales, is the cultural calendar: museums, galleries, opera, symphony etc. It’s cold. though. I like to walk and it’s not good walking weather.
Yup, tlkc that is what I’m trying to do. In between watch American Horror Story from the other night. Did anyone see that? OMG Amazing. Jessica Lange . and when she sang David Bowie’s “Life on Mars” ……aaaahhhh! Loved it!!!
TLKC, if I leave out two months it will be July and August, when Paris empties and is hot and a little bit sad and there are too many Americans fruitlessly looking for corner hot dog vendors.
In January are the wonderful marzipan galettes des rois for epiphany, and you need those two months to watch spring slip in and for Paris to shed her winter garb and reveal herself.
And for a walker, as am I, just choose walks with hills or destinations with hot drinks or good wine.
Adam performed there for GN in mid-November, which I thought would be wretched…and it was cold and damp and sometimes rainy…but my son took literally thousands of photos, entranced by the city around him, especially when it was raining or overcast. Leaves were still falling, the trees not yet entirely bare…but in January and February, the trees of Paris are no longer trees. Their nude curves exist only to relieve the stern verticals of the buildings.
Paris is the world’s mistress, and in January and February there is something of the dominatrix in her, a lovely edge.
I am getting more serious about my year there. With any luck, Adam will perform again in Paris then…and y’all are cheerfully invited to come crash at my apartment!

I remember GN November in Paris, Kradamour. 4 year ago!! Cold & damp but no snow!!!! What a difference that makes. Even around here. I loved wearing my jackets & boots.
I have never been to Paris in the summer but a lot of the restaurants close in July so that is a definite minus. As a Canadian I am not afraid of cold but I don’t like hurrying along. The whole point is to stroll/flaner.
The fall is nice; various degrees of brisk. Perfect.
If you do spend that year in Paris, Kradamour, I will visit you – in May.

Goodness, Krads, your descriptions of Paris are otherworldly! Now I’m even sorrier than ever that I will be on the other side of the planet when QAL is in Paris. But maybe that’s for the best. I’ll visit you in Paris in the spring when she is at her finest.
The Glee thread begins in February and I am especially looking for all of Adam’s parts in the first episode, so it isn’t there.
As for Paris, I have been there in every season, and she is pretty special all year long. I have some gorgeous photos of the gardens of Versailles covered in snow, so what you see is the geometric design without the color. But it can get very cold when you are out all day walking. Actually I have never been there in August, but I don’t think that I want to be there then. Autumn and spring are the best times to visit.
