September was a month full of surprises – Adam on Idol, Adam out and about and then to wrap up the month, the announcement of the UK and European Q+AL tour in early 2015. Can’t wait to see what October has in store! In the meantime, we’ll continue with the weekly walk down memory lane and revisit the summer’s concerts.

    Here is a vocal range chart that includes Adam. As you can see, his range is higher than Freddie’s, and most other male singers. Here in the US (!) he is known as one of the greatest singers. Shame the people who run BrianMay.com didn’t look for the range of THEIR OWN CURRENT FRONTMAN, but then, being higher than Freddie, maybe wouldn’t appeal to them. Shock Frown

    Also, some EXCELLENT reading here. This thread, started by a guy from the DDD who used to be a terrible enemy of Adam singing Queen, but was completely turned around by Adam’s lovely WWTLF in Kiev
    and is now a fan. Go figure!!!

    Good, ulti! You know, I’ve never understood why Adam is so little known in India, while being so loved in China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan and other Asian countries.

    Looks like Freddie’s and Adam’s are the same number of solid colors, except FM can go five notes lower and Adam five notes higher?

    See on the list – highest notes – Freddy Curci – do any of you remember him – from Toronto of Italian descent – sang for Sheriff and Alias – his recording of When I’m With You – one of the longest sustained notes – love his voice – have many of his songs with both bands.

    Actually, HK fan, per The Range Place, which is more up-to-date and accurately documented, Adam’s range IS greater than Freddie’s.

    Adam Lambert
    Voice type: Tenor
    Sung vocal range: E2-B♭5

    This would add 6 squares to the left (one lower than Freddie) and 1 to the right, 4 higher than Freddie. A little over 3 fully usable octaves. WOW!
    Disregard all those shaded squares for some, they represent “unusable” or undocumented.
    Going to research what they have listed for Freddie.

    ETA: Freddie, from The Range Place
    Voice Type: Mercury Tenor
    Vocal Range: F2-F6
    HOWEVER, and this was a BIG however, almost all of the higher notes above what the DDD has as Fred’s documented range are in blue at The Range Place, which means non-modal, i.e. either non-sung or so different in tone as to be unusable. Clearly the creator of that thread trying to “embroider” the truth and add to the myth (according to a Q&A thread on the same site.)
    So, in truth, Adam has a greater documented usable full range than FM.

    about Love Kills. Wonder if RS ever heard Adam’s version. First there was Adam doing Rhiana’s Stay, then Adam doing Freddie’s Love Kills. Maybe others? Can’t remember. Don’t know what to say anymore. It’s like nobody but the “bubble” ever hears the ultimate, amazing, stunning versions.

    I would think Adam is getting ready (rehearsing) for his performance Monday at the ATT Live Proud event in the Highland Ballroom. (Of Kradison lore!)

    ETA: AL, shouldn’t this and the Nov. 4th Rock event be on our list of upcoming events? (Oops, Mrs. PITT intruding on my comment! These alteregos are hard to suppress!)

    Exciting that he and Brian will perform in LA! I’m thinking they must have won (fingers crossed) which will make some heads explode!!!

    I remember that the events site was gone once before…a couple of years ago? But then it came back. Maybe I’m dreaming???

    Has anyone brought the new Queen album…I haven’t….I just don’t have any interest in hearing old stuff with Freddie anymore, I just want Adams versions of the songs.
    What I would really like in my christmas stocking is a double album of all the covers Adam has done in concert with professional in the studio” sound…i.e shout, stay, IWBTLY, Love Kills, Red House, STL, Is this love etc etc…

    I’ll probably buy the Queen album – Brian seems so enthusiastic about it. And should be somewhat interesting – especially how Brian has guitared it up to make it more palatable musically.
