As October begins, Adam has just announced the official radio add date (October 8) for Trespassing, which is the title track and the third U.S. single from his album of the same name. A Trespassing EP with a radio edit and album remixes will also be available on October 16. After limited success for the first two singles from Trespassing, Adam likely needs this third single to be a hit in order to continue onward with the Trespassing era, at least here in the United States.

After an October 13th concert date in Australia, Adam will return to the U.S. for a pair of dates during the second half of the month, on October 17th at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix, and on October 29th at the Texas Tango radio concert in Grand Prarie. Above we see a beautiful photo from @Alikat1323, taken at Adam’s September 25th benefit concert in support of marriage equality. Enjoy the chat!

I do think that American’s still appreciate a true singer. They can only make it in country music these days.

That’s an interesting point, mils. I actually do have a country music station preset on my radio – and I listen because I enjoy many of the voices. Roseanne Cash, Mary Chapin Carpenter…

mils– My parents used to play Harry Belafonte records every Sunday morning while they were preparing brunch. We all loved him. Thinking of him brings back such nice memories.

  5. apal123 says:

It’s funny how the music of our parents influences still. My Mom was the musical one and I still remember the albums she played the most. Most were male singers but her most favorite were Johnny Mathis and Robert Goulet. Goulet had that huge theatrical voice that could just stun you. To this day, I still prefer male voices. Even with women singers I always am drawn to the lower voices if at all. I always wonder if my mom loved women country singers if I would to.

I’m watching SNL right now. Bruno Mars is hosting and guest musician.

OH!!! HOw I long for Adam to host and sing.
    He will be wonderful!!!
    Bruno is good too. Smile

Good news! The Trespassing/Queen mashup is going out to clubs by word of mouth! And, someone reloaded it on YouTube too.

nkd, are you going to the Texas concert? Do you know how long Adam’s set will be?

  10. nkd says:

riskylady, I am going to the Texas show with TexasWHE and aely. I have no idea how long the set is as there are 3 or 4 other acts. I think Adam will be on second to last before Alannis.

  11. rs says:

mils, the first album I ever bought as a little girl was Harry Belafonte singing Calypso. I can still see his face on the cover. I adored him and his voice. Still do.

  12. cher says:

Don’t know which of you watch XFactor but this contestant David Correy who came on the show hoping to use it to reconnect with his birth mother who gave him up for adoption in Brazil…. has found his birth mother! And even though no DNA test yet, their eyes are pretty similar. The irony is that the woman also has musical talent: singing with a natural pitch without ever having done vocal training Tear jerker. Here’s a video..in Portuguese and bits of English from XFactor. He sings very well too. He’s in the top 16 now.

cwm, just thought of a question I meant to ask re your flight…did Adam keep his hat on during the flight, or take it off???

I saw that dancing vid earlier cher, I thought they did great, their timing was really good.

  16. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

cher, thanks for sharing the video of the girls dancing to NCOE – still love that song! In Love

riskylady, Adam’s one of four sets for the Texas Tango – Philip Phillips, Gavin Degraw and Alanis Morisette are also performing. I’m hoping for a full set from Adam, but I’m thinking it will be shorter. Just excited to see him!

Last I heard, they also added Forever the Sickest Kids to the line up.

  18. dcglam says:

It seems like there will be a very diverse line up and audience for the Texas show. Hopefully, Adam’s charm (mad talent included) and his Glamberts will help win over some of those country folks!! Yes

  19. asifclueless says:

Thank you … cher .. for the video Dancing to NCOE.
They did a great job. Adam will be proud of them.
Can somebody tweet it to him?

  20. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh. Adam and Alanis. Now that’s a combo I would love to see on stage together. I wonder what the lineup will be, what order?

I hope Adam gets a full hour. And is able to stick to it. They usually have a disclaimer, “subject to change.” Dammit.

Hey, thanks for all the Belafonte references.

Bruno was fantastic last night on SNL. Both for his comedy and acting chops and his musical performances. Best guest host in a long time. IMHO. He’s awfully cute too. He and Adam have a lot in common. Both have been performing since they were kids.

  21. milwlovesadam says:

apal, I so agree with your post. It does seem that early influences do affect what we like to listen to later. My folks had a variety of records of opera singers, male and female, show tunes ( everything out there it seemed) and popular singers like Elvis, Belafonte, Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, etc.

I never liked the soprano female opera voice, it was like nails on a chalkboard for me. Growing up, the only female voices I liked were Connie Francis, Judy, and Barbra, from my parent’s records. I grew accustomed to loving the male voice. But, I sure loved me some Diana Ross!!

My mom is/was a huge Pavarotti fan. And a Three Tenors nut.

As a child of the 60’s and 70’s, I loved pop and folk and soft rock. I got into harder rock as I got into high school and discovered Zeppelin and the Stones, years after my friends did. I was more an Elton and John Denver and Neil Diamond fan at first.

Now my musical taste is all over the place. With one exception, I just cannot do country. When scanning through radio stations, I’ll stop at 50’s Doo Wop if I hear it, some current pop, but, mostly I listen to classic rock. And Adam.

  22. Kradamour says:

Mils, try some country, but be discriminating. Down here there are a butt-load of country stations, but I can’t listen to most of them. One, though, has caught my fancy.
You love good voices and intelligent lyrics, and there is a good bit of both on the right country stations.
    Emphasis on “right”, though.
    Cowboy Listening to Music Cowboy

Speaking of liking what we grew up listening to…hmmm. That would explain why I never have music playing. Come to think of it, I can’t remember hearing music at home, except rarely. And when I am visiting someone who has music on it makes me nervous. Hadn’t ever connected that to early upbringing. Interesting.
    IDK

  26. milwlovesadam says:

kradamour, sorry, I’ve tried, but, no can do country.

Especially the whiney twangy thang. Yuck. I have a negative visceral response thing that happens. It’s beyond my control.
    ( Dangerous Liaisons reference ).

  27. milwlovesadam says:

….And my city is national news yet again. And, no, it’s not because the infant and his call me maybe gal are here today. It’s because some domestic abuser decided to take his beef to her place of work, a swanky upscale spa next to our swankiest most upscale mall, and shoot up at least 7 people. Thereby costing our tax base most likely over a million dollars in swat team, FBI, fire and police time, not to mention the cost of CLOSING the entire mall, freeway exits, and shops around it all day.

Oh, and he’s at large, and is from the suburb right next to mine.

And here I thought having to endure all the PR about the infant being here was bad enough.

  28. Kradamour says:

mils…there’s just nothing to say, is there?
This is almost a daily event, it seems.
Stay home and stay safely away from the crazy.

  29. luval says:

mils, have to agree with you on the country music thing. Just don’t like it. Old country, new country, country rock, country pop, traditional country, any which way country. And believe me I have tried! I know I’m in the minority about this but I like what I like and don’t like what I don’t like!!

  30. milwlovesadam says:

It’s so commonplace now. I’m afraid we are just getting immune to it.

On the other hand, a life-size cut out of the infant was spotted all over town in certain notable spots and has been making news in advance of tonight’s show. Yuck.

  31. milwlovesadam says:

    luval, right back atcha!!! ITA.

  32. turquoisewaters says:

mils: Haha, I think I understand your “negative visceral response”. I have the same response to new-age esotheric music, the kind that’s supposed to put you in a calm, meditative state. Drives me straight up the walls. I can enjoy two or three songs of John Denver, but then I’m about done with country. The image of bible-reciting flag-waving weapon-bearing macho-men does nothing for me.

  33. turquoisewaters says:
  34. Kradamour says:

I’m with you on the whiney twangy, ladies. And the bible-reciting flag-waving weapon-bearing macho-men.
I’ll just back away slowly, now (ducking for cover!).
    Smile

btw, my son is in Northern Virginia with Campus (name the party) campaigning for the candidate I am not supporting. Not sure where I went wrong (sigh), but I am proud of anyone who gets out there and supports their candidate so passionately.
(Party left out because we are not all of the same political persuasion.)
I have contributed $$$, I wear my button and a cool necklace, but I don’t have the oomph to get out there and knock on doors or ring phones. Frankly, I am grateful to anyone who does, regardless of party, because it puts a human face on what is mostly a really annoying election and I think that it revives democracy when real people are involved and not just multikajillion dollar PACs.
    End of rant.
    Razz

  35. milwlovesadam says:

kradamour, I wear a button and get lots of attention for it. I have a big yard sign too. I volunteer when I can, and man the phone banks. I did for the last election too.

My youngest, who is in rs’s city for the year voted by absentee ballot right at the Western Wall. They had a special place there because there are so many American students there. What makes me so very happy is that when he left the States he was going to vote for the other guy. I wasn’t very happy about it, but told him he had the right to choose.

He sent me an e-mail the other day that he voted for “my” guy. I am soooo proud of him. He realized that he needed to vote for the person who represents human rights the best. And for health care and for women. Yay!!

My other son who is also over there, did vote for the other guy. Boo. But, he’s 21, and can decide for himself.

  36. riskylady says:

So, looks like the Tokyo concerts are for real:

@bani_: On today’s Yomiuri newspaper, there is an ad for Adam Lambert concert in Tokyo Shibuya Koukaidou Feb, 19 and 20 via @naomiyoa”

    bani‏@bani_
Capacity for the Tokyo venue (Shibuya Koukaidou) is 2,084 http://bit.ly/vBXLHH

ETA: Also Osaka, Namba Hatch, Feb. 26th.

  37. turquoisewaters says:

krad: No need to duck. I like that you are willing to put your neck out there and say you like SOME country music. I am really very ignorant on the subject, I bet in every genre there are some artists worth listening to. It is not like pop/rock is rife with art.

  38. milwlovesadam says:

    “”the bible-reciting flag-waving weapon-bearing macho-men.””

Add to that xenophobic, homophobic, chaw-chewing, gun-toting, pick-up truck driving, drunk fighting, anti-semitic, and generally negative stereotypical behavior associated with all of that.

Sorry, for any offense here, but, it’s part of my dislike for country music.

But, mainly, I just don’t like it. It’s a visceral thing.

I have the same reaction to most of rap and hip-hop too.

I guess I don’t care for negative stereotypical song and behaviors. I like to feel happy or emotive when I hear music. I don’t enjoy, and am not entertained by negativity.

That’s one of the reasons I love Adam’s music and persona so much. And, quite frankly, watching Bruno last night on SNL was sheer joy. He’s got loads of “happy auras” around him too.

  39. dcglam says:

I am proud of anyone who gets out there and supports their candidate so passionately.

I agree, Kradamour! You did not go wrong — you went very right.
You raised a very strong, caring, and independent thinker. Clap

By the way, your son was over in my neck of the woods — Northern Virginia.

  40. dcglam says:

quite frankly, watching Bruno last night on SNL was sheer joy.

Yes, mils!! I knew Bruno was going to be on the show beforehand, but wasn’t too sold at that time about how he would do as a comedian. He truly did rise to the occasion. I especially loved the skit where he did musical impressions of Billie Joe Armstrong, Steven Tyler, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Louis Armstrong, and Michael Jackson. These were absolutely priceless, in my opinion. Yea, big kudos for Bruno on SNL, but I still need to see Adam. I have no doubts that he would raise the bar even further.

  41. dcglam says:

And my city is national news yet again.

mils, I heard about this today and immediately thought of you and my sister. I am very thankful that no one seems to be fatally injured. Hey, take care of yourself over there!!

ETA: Just heard now that there were three fatalities. So very sad.

  42. Kradamour says:

Aw, thanks, dcglam. My baby might even have knocked on your door!

And thanks turquoise, for your generous post. I totally understand the anti-country music block; there is very little of it that I enjoy, but I try to find something to like in every genre, even when it is hard. And sometimes I am wonderfully surprised!

  43. milwlovesadam says:

Thanks dcglam. I ( and your sister ) live pretty far from that mall area. But, I live very close to where the perpetrator is from. That mall is a favorite destination for the best shopping around here. And that spa is known to cater to local celebs, and for brides. It happened on Sunday morning. Prime bride prep. time. What a sad turn of events.

  44. milwlovesadam says:

Yup, Bruno was very very good, but, LOL. Stefon killlz me!! I was laughing out loud so hard I woke up my hubby!!

  45. luval says:
  46. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

The image of bible-reciting flag-waving weapon-bearing macho-men does nothing for me.

Haha, of course I know you’re exaggerating to prove a point, but there is as much diversity in country music as there is in all other genres of music – there’s alot of it that I can’t stand, but alot that I really enjoy! Have you tried Dixie Chicks, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, Lyle Lovett? Of course I understand if it’s just not your cuppa. Smile

I decided to use the “shuffle” feature on Pandora earlier today while at the gym, and realized what a diverse number of stations I have: Adam (duh), Queen, John Mayer, Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Shania Twain (country) Randy Rogers Band (country), etc. The shuffle mix was so entertaining, I hardly noticed how long I’d been on the treadmill. Sweat But when EW&F’s “Boogie Wonderland” came on, I couldn’t help thinking about an Adam/Katy Perry cover…

  47. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh. Texas, I do love Roy Orbison, but he crossed genres so much, I couldn’t really call him Country strictly. He’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, y’know!

That Black and White special is in my DVR, and much loved by my whole family. I saw an interview with Elvis Costello and Springsteen, and they both said how they are asked the most about that special night. It was in 1987. The power on that stage was immense, Orbison, Costello, Springsteen, KD Lang, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, and others. Love it. Oh. And Billy Idol in the audience. LOL.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PLq0_7k1jk&feature=player_detailpage

    Love this.

  48. riskylady says:

My guess is Japan will be a test market for tour, much like Wilkes Barre, Sayreville, Toledo were for GNT. And it will start over there, instead of here – maybe US will be in the middle, then Europe.

  49. Kradamour says:

    …Bonnie Raitt…

Silly me, mils. I thought she was a country singer. Like Roy Orbison.
    Grin
She is definitely played on the one country station I listen to.
She does cross genres, though. Like Roy Orbison.
    Grin

  50. turquoisewaters says:

Texas: I think part of my problem is that I did not grow up in the US, so the whole country scene is somewhat alien to me. I know (and like) Roy Orbison, would never have put him into the country column.
