Yup, we were at a show that grossed more than 3 million, or more, with merch. And they did it twice. That’s over 6 million for just two shows. And we gave our contribution for both of ’em!!
And they are going to their next leg of the tour with just as many shows as this first tour.
Two people at work today asked me if I heard Adam and Brian May on the radio last night. Nice.

I still find it hard to believe they are personalized…whatever you write he will say. How could he (or any of those celebrities) do that? I think the only “personalized” thing is the recipient’s name. Am I wrong? Where does it actually say the personalizing thing?
Ulti, funny, my nephew’s girlfriend is from Long Giland. I dated a guy from Long Giland in college. Very specific accent there.

Dear friends, what a strange time we live in. I know that there have always been horrifying natural disasters and terrible acts of violence but in our world of 24/7 world wide coverage it is very much part of our daily existence. Maybe that is a good thing. It is hard to ignore what is put right in front of you.
On the other hand we have the technology to stay connected and to view incredible acts of kindness and beauty. Having access to talented artists is as easy as pressing a button. The Imagine project is a perfect example of people using their talents to improve the world. I love that Adam is part of this and have watched both versions multiple times.

I enjoyed Elli’s new song as well. He seems to be such a sweet and intelligent young man. He looked really handsome in the video. Reminded me a lot of someone else. Hmmmm…who could that be.

Love that “Mother & Son” video, too. Thanks for that ulti. I spent a bit of time in Nichols & May land yesterday, too. Passings like this really open up a gap; feeling all sorts of nostalgia for the 50’s, for New York, for old-fashioned humour and comedy.
He never lost his touch or pandered, the way some people do as the start to slip away from the centre of public attention. Mastered the serious as well as the funny. Loved his 1990’s film “Closer”.
He and Diane Sawyer were together for nearly 3 decades.
Here’s hoping we get a few more lines of Adam’s Imagine. Re-mix still to come. Perhaps all of the singers were asked to sing the whole thing and maybe we’ll get to hear all of BB’s.
I thought it was fitting that the first line he sang was “and no religion too.” Besides the world conflicts going on involving religion, much gay hatred comes from supposed religious origins. Maybe he was thinking of that as he sang that and his other line about a brotherhood of man – one that would be inclusive of all orientations.
There is progress, but there are still doors closed to Adam i.e. endorsements for one.
Can’t even imagine the fear and confusion felt by some young children discovering they are gay as Adam did, in those homophobic countries with their draconian laws.
You know, riskylady, given the politicization of religion and the number of self-appointed, family values spokespeople who are looking for scapegoats, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the participants balked at singing that particular line for the final edit; just because they didn’t want to risk a backlash. Adam has dealt with this question very diplomatically vis a vis LGBTQ rights and was a good choice for that line.
Interesting point about the perfect balance between “brotherhood of man” and “no religion, too”. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was thought about and discussed a bit.
