Adam-Hatter1
October was a relatively quiet month for Adam. His short set at AT&T Live Proud was one of the few times that Adam has performed solo in a while so was nice to see and hear. I’m sure that October will end with a bang since Adam is hosting his 2nd annual Halloween bash.
November’s photo is from Adam’s appearance at the Marco Marco fashion show.

The studio version of “Feelin’ Good” is one of the most extraordinary vocals I’ve ever heard, mils – it was for a long time the track I played to introduce him to people.

The vocal gymnastics he used in Feeling Good, I just figured it out, is so similar to what he did at the end of STL in Toronto 2, that it keeps me coming back to it over and over again.

I, we, have said it a gazillion times, but, I still am absolutely gobsmacked by him. Every single day.

  4. ultimathule says:

Have to laugh at Milan, luval – so much for all that fuss by whatshername –

    Yes, thanks for saying this!

I flove that EMA “Show Must Go On”! I think I must have watched that and “Somebody To Love” in Kiev about 100 times or more each. My absolute fave performances.

  11. luval says:

    I got hands.

  12. luval says:

Will have to revisit Somebody to Love Kiev. Have only watched tour ones.

  13. HK fan says:

Luval, I got hands too……this creative thing seems to be a recurring theme for me in these quiz’s…maybe there is something in it after all..

  14. luval says:

HK fan…Do you have creative hobbies? I knit, crochet (have received awards), sew…love to sew! Project Runway!!! Started to design my backyard garden. Have in my mind what to do in my house as far as decorating.

Funny, haven’t done much of any of these things in 5 years. Wink Laugh

  15. Axxxel says:

I have “head” and that is oh so true… but the sentence: “you can express the works of your mind in a flawless and impeccable way.” is not really that true to me…

I am not such a good impromptu speaker and therefore I admire Adam so much when I heard him speaking so eloquently and yet succinct at interviews…Also how he is in command of the stage during press conferences. I think I repeat myself when I say that I fell in love with Adam after watching his press conference after he lost in Idol Season 8.

  16. firstimerob says:

I have hands also. I paint and sew, in the last 5years have only painted 1 painting yet I still sew now only when going to Adams concerts. Amazing how Adam is my creative outlets now.

  17. luval says:

lol on all of us “5 year slackers”. Smile

Hands here. I knit, read, sew, do word puzzles and relax with music and videos.

Just finished Billy Crystal’s book this morning. What a laugh out loud, and wipe tears from your eyes read that was. I highly recommend it.

Was just watching a classic Doors concert on VH1. Gawd, he was so sexy, sublime, and outrageous for his time. Love his hair, his blues, his big hip hugging silver belt and leather pants. And that voice. I’ve always been a fan, since I was a little girl. RIP Jim Morrison.

If Adam wore his hair like that. Wow. But then again he’d be accused of copying Groban’s hair, which really, is Morrison’s hair.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

Did anyone see the imitation of Sam Smith last night on SNL? Hilarious. I’ll look for it.

Not up. Gotta go to real life. Dammit.

It’s a sunny, cold day here, We got a dusting of snow.

Dreamed of beaches last night. And it’s only November.

  23. ultimathule says:

Sam Smith has such a distinctive voice would imagine it’s easy to parody. Not a fan – something nasally in his voice that I find unattractive. Liked “Latch” with Disclosure – that’s about it.

My car has my best sound system for listening to CD’s. I have a large stack of Adam CD’s that I bought or made from downloads and rarely listen to anything else. (I am totally addicted to his voice!) The Kiev CD is one of my favorites and currently on almost continuous replay. The entire CD is wonderful, but Somebody to Love is exceptionally good. I also love IWIA and WWTL. The beginning of I Want It All is otherworldly as Adam alternates his wails with Brian’s guitar riffs. I also made a CD from the studio versions of Adam’s AI songs. The vocal acrobatics on Feeling Good are unbelievable. My other two studio favorites with exceptional vocals are One and Mad World.

Since Adam is taking his time perfecting album #3, I am in need of some new music to tide me over. So I ordered Queen Forever today. I think Adam will understand and forgive me for my infidelity.

mils– I am also a big fan of Jim Morrison and the Doors. I still have my old vinyl records, but I’d much rather revisit the songs on You Tube where I can appreciate the full auditory and visual impact of Jim Morrison’s performances.

  26. ultimathule says:

Those are my three studio versions, too, mmm222 – all magnificent.

Have been playing “Queen Forever” and “Live at the Rainbow” for the past few days (sound like two different bands – lol). Many times think of how Adam would interpret these tracks. That “Mother Love” continues to fascinate.

Haven’t listened to Kiev in a while – at your recommendation will go back to them.

  27. luval says:

hope this works. From SNl last night Sam Smith about 2-ish minutes in. But the whole thing is funny.

Thanks, luval – that SNL was pretty clever – knew right away who they were imitating

And love the eye makeup on that old/new pic – the color of his eyes just gorgeous – and those eyelashes – just damn – no fakes necessary for him –

  32. luval says:

The eye makeup is fabulous. Will never get over the loss of the black hair. Black on black … grey soulful eyes. Just dreamy.

  33. luval says:

This is hilarious. Came across this as I was looking at tour videos. A bunch of guys singing and shouting along to BoRap at MSG. They are all off key.

Hi everyone! Trying to play catch up. What exciting times for Adam & us here!
Happy & envious for all those crossing the pond, for the next concert series. Will be waiting for video’s, to feed off of.

Just wanted to share this video.
The first time I saw it I ended up on the floor because, I slid down out of my chair. I had tears & much laughter!
You gotta give this guy props, for the passion he puts into this iconic song.

I used to crotchet a lot when I was younger, started off making granny square blankets for the old people at the local hospital near me when I was 10, then progressed to better things. Made all the baby blankets for my kids…used to do cross stitch, liked drawing when I was younger etc, covered a 3 piece suite when I was 19….. I do make quite a few bits now, I work in a pre school that only allows natural toys, ie.e cloths pine cones, bits of wood etc. We make felt animals, figures. I’m currently making felt bell christmas tree ornaments for the kids in class xmas presents. And I’m also making a granny square blanket for my daughters bed…so I suppose I am.
Also note the used to in alot of these…also don’t seem to have had much time in the last few years!!do

  41. HK fan says:

I think my favourite AI studio version of Adams is One too. I always thought it was one of his most under rated performances. I loved it, but its not one that gets mentioned very often.

  42. luval says:

    Good one, twilightmagic8.

I never cared for the song One. Was disappointed when Simon picked that for Adam. He did a nice job but I always thought there were better ones Simon could have chosen…from a different group. Only songs I ever liked by U2 were Sunday Bloody Sunday, Angel In Harlem & Beautiful Day. None of them would have been good for Adam IMO.

  43. ultimathule says:

Agree with that, HK fan – the studio version of “One” is truly beautiful.

I have two videos of the One AI performance – the official AI version and the complete performance with the judges before and after (this also has the shot of his mother with tears in her eyes – got me seeing that).

Also, the AI version shows him full face at the end, while the TV version has him in profile. Slight differences.

He looked so young and beautiful during this performance. Too bad these AI performances were cut so short – thank heavens for the studio ones.

(Speaking of tears, remember seeing screenshots of Adam’s face and eyes at the end of ACIGC – definitely a welling-up of emotion – that song meant so much to him.)

  44. milwlovesadam says:

Speaking of One, for those of you who were in Rockford for GN with me, I’ll never forget how after the show, when the bus was pulling out, Adam was in the front, and the front of the bus was all glass, down to the floor, the lights were on inside, and you could see into the bus so clearly, and Adam was waving to the crowd, and wearing his One shirt. It was like he was glowing, he was back-lit, like for a stage show, but he was simply in a bus. The bus took a long time to navigate through the crowd, and we got a looong look at him.

That was such a fun show, outdoors, and the set up of the meet and greet and where the bus was parked gave us such good access to meet and see not just Adam, but Tommy.

  45. milwlovesadam says:

I also have the Kiev QAL CD ( thanks nkd ) on constant replay in my car. I listen to STL and Dragon Attack a lot. But, I am quite partial to I Want It All and Break Free.

He has a special quality in his voice on the lyric “I don’t wanna live alone” in Break Free, in this version, that just kills me.

I bought Rainbow, but haven’t given it a listen yet. I plan to buy Forever soon. So much of them are on You Tube.

  46. milwlovesadam says:

Was just watching this. The other great performance from Live Aid, look at his hair, earring, glasses, sometimes it’s uncanny. I don’t mind the comparisons. I think it’s a compliment. And what a voice.

  47. milwlovesadam says:

Mea culpa about Band Aid 30. I didn’t realize it was also for the anniversary. I gave it a listen. Egads. Not as strong vocally as the original.

Actor Mandy Patinkin was just on 60 minutes and was singing Bohemian Rhapsody. This guy (who’s on Homeland) is a broadway sing & dance man and loves to sing all types of music. Sounded great. Just a couple of lines, though.

lol found this on youtube. Very operatic. Gets better as it goes on.
