October was a relatively quiet month for Adam. His short set at AT&T Live Proud was one of the few times that Adam has performed solo in a while so was nice to see and hear. I’m sure that October will end with a bang since Adam is hosting his 2nd annual Halloween bash.
November’s photo is from Adam’s appearance at the Marco Marco fashion show.

In terms of Queen “needing” to perform, I agree, it’s not really about money anymore, well except for Adam to build a handsome nest egg, but, they do raise money for Mercury Trust, AIDS research and programs, and I also believe they are truly in it for the fans.

I just love it when Brian and Roger talk about how they never thought they would do this again, and that Adam has made them re-energized.

Because of Adam’s extreme talents, Queen is now showing a whole new generation of fans around the world, what real rock sounds like. Nothing fancy, nothing fake, just great talents and staging and lights and sound. And a voice from another planet. In great shoes.

Totally agree with this, mils, I’ll be equally dumbstruck. And you and I are rarely at a loss for words…
I also agree with your musing that the diehard fans were in fact the peeps who bought TSP when it came out. Lots of copies each. I still have a few here on a shelf somewhere.
And we will of course do the same for #3.
But that only, as we saw for TSP, brings it out with a roar…and then sales stagnate. That can’t happen with #3.

I don’t think they could possibly make the same mistake as before about the album(?) release. Could they?

One thing I have learned from my Adam stanning is that the music business is broken and has no idea whatsoever what it is doing or should do.
Yup, release singles first, as many of us have said many times.

(And then there are the anomalies: Taylor Swift just sold a bajillion copies of her new album.)

On a completely other subject…I just love Adam’s house (thanks to the poster for the SA article). It says ‘established’ without being gaudy or pretentious. Looks comfortable, not too big not too small, with a very masculine design and a nice outdoor space. Just the right price range for a solid investment.

At this point, everyone, Adam included, must be thinking out of the box IMHO. Do the old formulas, single, promo, radio play, still make sense? Is radio play, or even album sales the golden Grail? So much more money is made touring (but a lot more work). Taylor Swift pulled her music off Spotify. What does it all mean? I’m just waiting to see what they come up with and how they blend it with his Queen obligations, which I think will be a permanent thing for a while. They could do some fall touring next year, Japan, SA, and from then on just hit the studio together to write/record new stuff. (If Adam wants…) Big ifs for everything…..but I have faith.

So, Rocky Horror was finally on TV last night. Yes, I watched it. Again.

But honestly, I can’t get over how alike the staging and costumes and drama of Sweet Transvestite and Killer Queen are.

I mean, just look at how Tim Curry has his heels over the arm of his big ornate chair, and look at how they are glittery, and how he lounges all over it…sideways.

If Adam can possibly put out a single and get the right interviews, and some radio play, he could sell. I know I talk about Elvis Duran a lot, but, he has a hugely syndicated show, he and his co-hosts love Adam, and the artists he “pimps” so hard, do go on to sell big and get further recognition, and more adds and spins.

I have never liked a TS song before – this one has just caught my fancy.
risky, Taylor Swift is no one’s fool, and plays by her own rules. It is doubtless not easy to be a young and pretty woman in the music business and be taken seriously as a strong woman. (I experienced that when I was among the small minority of women lawyers back in the day. In Norfolk, 2% of the bar was female. Yes, two.) I have mad respect for her.
Having said that, there is a melancholy to her and a very clear sense of not fitting in and not understanding why she doesn’t. I wish her very well.

Freddie and Roger – pic cracked me up – lol – in today’s cultural climate, the PC Police would’ve been after them –

Not over here ulti…I really think from reading many comments when a ‘star’makes a faux pas on a costume that it really seems only to be a big issue in the States…I’ve never seen or heard the same reaction in the UK or here when someone dresses as someone from another culture. The Chinese enjoy seeing Gweilos dressing in traditional clothes and taking part in their festivals.

My take is, release first single NOW (if there’s a possibility to get into the important shows on time before Queen tour in January) and more when Europe leg of the tour is done and he has time to promote it (unless they continue to Japan right after?)

I listened to the Queen Forever Deluxe in spotify on weekend (before the real release date!) and loved it. It was a great almost 40 songs collection of mainly slower and touching Queen songs, loved it. Many songs I had not heard before and many I had heard, but didn’t have – I only have Greatest hits I and II. I’m definitely gonna buy that album as CD. I have always loved Queen’s music, why the heck I haven’t gone through the whole catalog when I found the band??? Maybe because it was the time before youtubes, spotify or any other possibility to hear all songs before you buy the whole album. I usually only bought collections of the hits.

But that way you may miss so many great songs. Many Adam’s songs I love are not singles, they are even extra songs on the albums. I got myself spotify premium without adds, so that I can easier find new music and decide what to buy. Which is the best place to buy music digitally when one doesn’t have any apple equipment? I have a pc with windows 8 and also windows phone (very bad for arranging music, I have big troubles with my self-made mp3s ) Thank you if someone has advice for me, I bet all of you have iphone & itunes.

Maybe because it was the time before youtubes, spotify or any other possibility to hear all songs before you buy the whole album. I usually only bought collections of the hits. But that way you may miss so many great songs. Many Adam's songs I love are not singles, they are even extra songs on the albums. I got myself spotify premium without adds, so that I can easier find new music and decide what to buy. Which is the best place to buy music digitally when one doesn't have any apple equipment? I have a pc with windows 8 and also windows phone (very bad for arranging music, I have big troubles with my self-made mp3s :( ) Thank you if someone has advice for me, I bet all of you have iphone & itunes.

OMG new dates in the UK!

So unfortunately, of course, they correspond exactly with the dates that I need to be in Amsterdam for my work conference. Nothing is ever easy and uncomplicated! But I MIGHT be able to swing the Sheffield show on Friday the 27th if I leave the conference in the early afternoon (it’s the last day), catch the one late afternoon flight from Amsterdam to Leeds, drive (or taxi? or train?) the hour from Leeds to Sheffield, stash my luggage somewhere, and arrive just before the show starts. Is it possible? Maybe.

Is anybody else interested in going to the Sheffield show? Last show of the tour! (Presumably)

Gah! And pre-sale has started NOW so there’s little time to work it all out!

ETA: I think I would want standing tickets. The entire floor of the arena is standing. Sounds like fun…
