Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

UPDATE: 11/7/11 11 PM – Photos and videos still coming in from last night’s epic performance of Queen with Adam on lead vocals at the EMAs!

“Trespassing”. Crossing boundaries into forbidden territories. I think The deep thinker in Adam has deep meanings here.

  2. Kradamour says:

I agree, mils, re Adam’s thinking on the title. Boy has had a lot of time to think this through, and we know that he does.

To us, the loyal fan base, that title means something; we can relate it to Adam and his journey. I just wonder about the casual fan/peep who has forgotten all about him. (shrugs) I’ll stop fretting now. But as a title for an album, to me, it is sibilant and weak. I think a lot will depend on the cover art to sell it to the uninitiated.

Okay, done with the album title. On to the AMAs! WOOT!

  3. Ellessay says:

My first thought when I heard “Tresspassing” was the picture of “Beg for Mercy” with the kid looking over the fence. I’m sure it had nothing to do with it, though, if there is a song with that same name.

  4. nkd says:

I say that shaver is Trespassing! Get away from BBs head!

It’s an album title, which I happen to like. I don’t think it will keep anyone away from buying the album. The music will sell the album or not!

    Hi Everyone,

OMG I have only been able to take a peek here and there, so busy getting ready to move..what a monumental undertaking here. We have been in this house since 1987 if that tells you anything. Anyway, I went to Atlanta last Friday and had a house to rent by Thursday afternoon. It was one of the most daunting tasks I have taken on I can tell you that. Long story and very frustrating, especially with hubby trying to micro-manage me from Florida…but I was ultimately successful and we are moving the day after Thanksgiving. He starts his new job on Monday, so whew this is a quick move to be sure but we are so happy!!!!

My heartfelt sympathy and love goes out to Ceddies and others who are dealing with loss and family illness right now. We are family here and it really hurts when others are hurting yet I am so glad that we can all share the good with the bad.

I just listened to Better Than I Know Myself and I think it will be a hit for sure. I can’t wait to hear Adam’s take on this song.

Looking forward to the AMA’s..this will be a righteous moment for him when he steps out in front of the audience both in the theater and at home…can’t wait to see it.

Although I am so excited about this move, I am leaving many long time friends here in Florida and it is sad and I have to say a little scary as well. I am so glad to have all of you with me as I make this change. I know I can share it with you and you will give me honest and sincere feedback and support.

    Love to all,

    PlanetFierce

  6. luval says:

I wonder if Adam will address the Claude Kelly youtube? Peeps on his twitter feed are saying things like “can’t wait ’til we hear it” referring to Better Than I Know Myself. I would think he’d be aware but maybe just chooses to ignore it.

  7. milwlovesadam says:

Kradamour, you are so funny when you say the new song title is too sibilant. It reminds me of an old and very funny Neil Simon comedy, The Sunshine Boys. They had a joke in there about only certain sounds being funny. “S’es are not funny.” ” K’s are funny.” ” Sam isn’t funny” “Pickles” is funny.

Guess the same is for power words.

But, I do think that the word trespass is a strong word. I mean, it is a crime to trespass.

Oh, that Adam, making us think.

  8. turquoisewaters says:

Kradamour, you do wonders to my non-native vocabulary. I had to look up what “sibilant” even means.
I share some of your concerns, BTIKM does not immediately wow me, although I think Adam’s vocals can take it to a whole new level.
Right now, I just have to trust Adam’s music and business sense. Btw: When it comes to fashion, I trust Sauli almost more. I like all the outfits I have seen him in. In addition, he seems to be one of those lucky people you just can’t take a bad picture of. His face is always friendly but spunky, his attitude humble but confident. I just adore him, and I so want this relationship to last a long time.

  9. ultimathule says:

I’m with luval – I keep forgetting the words of the song title – I’ll have to practice.

“too many words” – lol. Reminds me of “Amadeus” when the Emperor? says to Mozart – “too many notes.”

  10. Ron says:

The title of an album or its cover art has never influenced me as to whether I was going to buy it. All that matters is who’s doing the singing.

If it did matter to me, I never would have bought Barbra’s years-ago album release “Butterfly”. Well, the word butterfly does conjure up some nice imagery. But the cover showed a stick of butter with a dead fly on it. She was smoking grass with Jon Peters during that time. Smile

Not crazy about “Trespassing” but it doesn’t matter. It’s Adam. It’s also the name of a song on the CD and I’m sure it’ll all come together and make sense when we get our hot little hands on it and give it a listen or two … or, 47. Smile

  11. luval says:

ultimathule…I just wrote the song title in black magic marker on a big piece of paper next to my computer. Smile

Hi luval!! You’re a scream! (as in: funny) Grin

I totally agree, turq. I feel so fortunate to have actually had Sauli pass by right in front of me at Ste Agathe. I hope that for the tour, he will be willing to come out with Adam. I think that they understand how strongly we support their relationship and want to know them both, as a couple.

  14. luval says:

Ron, I swear that after I did this I left the room to change the cat box and couldn’t remember the damn title! I think it’s because I don’t want to…am not invested in it yet.

  15. Ron says:

I think all you have to do luval is remember the very first word – better – and the rest will follow. Don’t try to think of the whole title all at once.

  16. Kradamour says:

A good way to memorize anything is to learn it backwards: start with the last word, then add the one before it, etc. until you get to the first word and can say it all the way through.

  17. luval says:
  18. luval says:

Thanks too, Kradamour. I am LOL with all these suggestions. Sorry, Adam if you are lurking!

  19. dcglam says:

Good to hear from you, Planet Fierce. Thanks for checking in with us, and happy to hear that things are “moving” well! Smile

  20. luval says:

I think I got it!!! “Better Late Than Never”! That’s it, right?

    Shock

    What?!??

I’m already backwards so I thought I’d have a leg up on this one. LOL

Bit of a mouthful but I don’t have a problem remembering this title. I have a big problem though when I try to remember it backwards so that I can say it forwards. Several gaskets were on the verge of bursting Grin

    “Will Robinson, it.does.not.compute”. LOL

(Just funnin’, Kradamour. Wink I know what you mean. Sort of. Kind of, in a way … maybe a little bit … perhaps.) Grin

  23. ultimathule says:

I just came back here – 11:03 p.m. – and I can’t remember the name of the song again.

OK, luval, getting out the marker.

  24. ultimathule says:

Hey – just thought – if we have trouble remembering the name – knowing Adam’s track record with lyrics – he may forget it, too.

  25. ultimathule says:

Look – I get the first word, “better.” But then it goes nowhere. This is ridiculous.

Y’know – I like “Better Late than Never” – it fits what we’ve been going through with this damn album.

  26. glambotgram says:

    ultimathule too funny!

  27. ultimathule says:

Apropos of practically nothing – MJ went through the song thread and deleted god-knows-what. Took out one of my more benign posts. A “ronaldmascot” posted “career suicide” as his thoughtful, in-depth critique of the “B” song (god, even forgot the first word). In reply, I posted, “May I borrow your crystal ball?” Guess which post was deleted – lol.

  28. Ron says:

To try and make this song title instantly become a part of your vocabulary, when you say …

“Better” – think of being a gambler in Las Vegas – “than I” – picture looking in the mirror at yourself holding a bible – “know” – think of everything you’ve ever learned in your entire life – “myself” – think of me … and there you have it! LOL LOL

Put that all together and it’s clearly “Better Than I Know Myself”. I don’t know how to explain it more simply. LOL

You are not alone. I have made only 7 posts on MJs since the new format, and mine got deleted too. I didn’t say anything that inflamed anyone–no one even responded to what I said. I just agreed with someone who mentioned the negativity regarding the new song. Maybe she deleted the original post and then mine since I blockquoted it. Just seemed odd.

It sure seems like it. Can’t wait to hear the new song. The demo doesn’t count.

  31. ultimathule says:

I’ve found something that might help me – putting “You know me” before the song title – then the rest falls in place. Otherwise, just opening with “Better” feels like something’s missing. Guess, in my mind, there is. Wonder what else is missing there – lol.

  32. rainbowgal4 says:

Hi Everyone. Slid all the way to my destination. Roads were very icy. Now I’m settling in with one of my grandsons. Got the AMA’s set to tape. My daughter-in-law is a big Adam fan.

Planet. Good Luck with your move. I know it will go well for you.

Cocoglam. Way to go Mom & son. You must be so proud.

I am so looking forward to hearing his new music. I miss his voice. And what a moment it will be when he steps on that stage tomorrow night. A new chapter.

  33. ultimathule says:

    Yes, rainbowgal4 – a new chapter – definitely.

Yes! Watched “Mame” yesterday. I think every critic hated it and most people loathed this movie. Even though Lucille Ball failed to capture the essence of Mame Dennis, I still love it. I Love Lucy. Smile

Anyway, these lyrics from “Mame” apply to Adam right now:

    Open a new window
    Open a new door
    Travel a new highway
    That’s never been tried before.

    Good night. Smile

I think by New Years, we’ll have it down. Still 6 weeks to go.

  36. turquoisewaters says:

Ron: gambler in Las Vegas holding the bible?? How do you come up with these things?

  37. turquoisewaters says:

PlanetFierce: Scary and exciting sometimes go hand in hand. Good luck for your big move.

  38. cwm says:

That’s a lovely quote for Adam, thanks Ron.

turqoisewaters – I like your acronym! Fits Adam to a T. Smile

Here’s a new article in THR about the AMAs and who’s going to be there. Highlights the fact that Chris Brown and Adam will be there, both of whom are “controversial characters.” Hmmmm. Not so sure that a guy kissing a guy onstage is really comparable to beating up your girlfriend, but there you go. Shirley Halperin sure is making a big deal about Adam’s return to the AMA stage. Well, I’m just happy that Adam’s been invited to present, and I guess it’s all good publicity for him.

    Love it!!

  42. rainbowgal4 says:

Cwm I totally agree with you. There is a huge difference between what C Brown did & Adam’s kiss. Plus Brown has not changed his ways. IMO it’s only a matter of time before his anger management problem causes him problems. Like Adam has said “it’s just a kiss”. I hope we see more when it’s called for.

  43. ultimathule says:

Left my contribution to the outrage on The Hollywood Reporter. Who writes that stuff on the HR – dopes.

  44. ultimathule says:

We’ve been told by some fan not to post comments on HR.

Believe HR should be called out in putting Chris and Adam in the same category – pretty outrageous, IMO.

  45. ultimathule says:

Actually it may have been the Dick Clark website. Haven’t been there.

  46. riskylady says:

I don’t get how some fans on Twitter are suddenly the “self-appointed” leaders of the fandom? Who voted them in? Certainly, I don’t agree with the behavior of some fans, so I won’t do what they do. But, unless Adam himself has stated a request, such as – enough with the Adommy stuff, don’t spam DJs, etc. – we have no bosses, right?
Comments on the THR article seem pretty rational to me, up to now. Letting them know we don’t like Adam compared to Chris Brown, we don’t swallow the line about no ABC ban, but we love them having Adam back on the show? OK with me!

  47. riskylady says:

Brace yourselves, here’s a critic who likes BFM over Durbin and Daughtry’s new albums, and there could be more to come.
After all, it is ADAM, albeit not what he would like out there.

  48. Kradamour says:

riskylady, I didn’t get that at all from the Boston Herald item. He identified BFM as pre-idol music and didn’t say whether he liked it or not, as far as I can see, he just mentioned it and identified it appropriately. A fan posted immediately the title of the new “real” album and single.

    no worries! Smile

  49. riskylady says:

You had to click on the link “return to full article.” I would classify this as gentle praise.

Not surprisingly, the most interesting rock release by an “Idol” alum this week is a pre-“Idol” recording. Recorded with Lambert buddy and Madonna guitarist Monte Pittman, “Beg for Mercy” sounds genuine. The mix of glam, Goth and Hot Topic emo has the sass and swagger missing from Lambert’s debut, “For Your Entertainment.” It’s not amazing, but at least it’s unshackled.

  50. rs says:

kradamour, Did you click to read the whole article? He liked BFM better than the other two, but seems to want genuine Rock music and didn’t like FYE. Here is what he said:

He probably won’t like Trespassing either, but that is his loss. So nice to be able to name the album. It makes it real and more imminent.
