Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

Hi luval how are you tonight? I’ve been seeing so many things about the MTVEMA’s not being the last time that we will see Adam performing with Queen. But there is also the contest that they are having to find a lead singer also, so who knows what this means! Maybe Queen possibly making special appearances on Adam’s next tour for encores to his shows?? I could go for that!!

spiffysmile pretty much mentioned what Rogers said in the interview at 4:39pm post today. “I’d probably do it again sometime”. I don’t know, he didn’t seem as enthused as I thought he’d be. The DJ kept egging him on about Adam but although he said nice things about Adam, I’m pretty sure they’re focusing on that contest right now.

But Wembley? hell yeah! I’m there! The only thing with cold weather coming what is one of the largest indoor stadiums around?

I went to Queen’s website and online voting is going on right now for the public to vote. The voting ends midnight PST on 28November. So we’ll see what happens with this. The web says this guy Mark Martel is a shoe-in.

If you’re seriously concerned about cold weather, I have a 5.5lb., ankle length, velvet coat. It’s black. You’ll like that. It has a couple of yards of material. Considering its weight, it still billows in the wind. With a really strong gust, I could be airborne. In other words, there’s room enough for two … I’ll keep you warm.

I think MTV could turn their footage of Adam’s performance, especially the vibrato-glorious TSMGO into a video. And play the sh***t out of it on AIR!!!!

That Bert Bert is one of the funniest things evah in fandom.

That Irish article just sums it up. He is on his way to being iconic. To being a megastar.

I wonder if he’s filming videos already for his singles?

And. If there are un-recorded Queen songs out there, I would put money on it that at least one of them will be sung by Mr. Lambert. And that that new CD will sell millions.

mls…totally agree with your list. Did you see my post earlier where I propose that EMA performance is actually Adam’s single? (in my mind of course). He and queen should release this as a live performance and as you said it would be the official video…up for awards, etc. They would both make money and would hold us starving people over until the real single comes out.

If it was just me, I wouldn’t be asking, but so many have expressed the same thing. We keep listening to “The Show Must Go On” over and over again. At this moment, I have it on a continuous loop. I can’t get enough of this song.

Now the “why” comes in.

Is it the song? Adam’s voice? Because we haven’t heard Adam sing anything new for what seems like ages? The rhythm? The beat?

I don’t know and it confuses me. I’ve loved so many of Adam’s performances but I’ve never once played any one of them over and over again. What is it about this particular one?

When I read that it was never sung live by Freddie, that it was released only 6 weeks before his death, it touches me more. Elton John was the first person to sing it live in 1992 at a Freddie Mercury tribute concert.

For me I think it’s a combination of Adam’s amazing vocals, him performing with Queen, and being in a little bit of withdrawal from Adam!

Finally having something “new” from Adam after the OOL from Ste. Agathe. And plus Queen has and will always be one of my favorite groups of all time, so just hearing him sing Freddie Mercury like that is just awesome! I know nobody could have done as amazingly as Adam did!

Even when he sang with Queen during the Idol Finale I watched that performance over and over…He’s just amazing!!

And plus it gives us something to listen to until we get that wonderful new music everyone keeps tweeting about!

When I listen to him sing TSMGO, to me, there’s a confident, powerful, clear voice that seems to have matured since FYE. Either that or the song suits him perfectly for the type of voice he has. Between these two I can’t decide.

But like you Ron, I listen to this one song over and over. Tomorrow I will be in my car a lot and I’m going to listen to FYE to see if I can tell.

In TSMGO Adam comes across as powerful – almost with a slight touch of arrogance in his body movements. That, combined with his beauty and insane vocals, just knocks you flat on the floor. I have yet to get up.

I, too, have felt this. Not too many musicians have the vocal skills and power that are needed to do justice to this great song.

I wasn’t sure that was Adam at all! I thought it might be Bruno Mars! I expected any number of people coming onstage and singing snippets of Queen songs and that Mars was the first in a series of many. Never thought Adam was going to be the solo frontman.

I think it’s everything! The song is powerful and beautiful, and a lesser known Queen song. Adam is confident, exuberant, striking on stage, with vocals that match the power of the song. I love when his voice soars like in TSMGO. So yes, a combination of everything!

Oh sorry. I have literally been listening to TSMGO over and over again, whilst sitting mindlessly and playing a game, searching for party supplies for a holiday event I am putting together, texting my kids, etc.

I just cannot get enough of this. It is the perfect marriage of song, persona, stage presence and unbelievable vocal performance, not to mention fantastic drums and guitar playing virtuosity.

One of the comments on the above video says it perfectly, Adam is in darkness, Brain and Roger in light, giving tribute to Freddie.

This should be a music video, and played on MTV, VH1, heck, it would make a great 3D Imax. It would be a great clip before a movie.

And, I recorded Jesus Christ Superstar a couple of weeks ago and finally watched it the other day. Hadn’t seen it in many years. I now agree with so many, Adam is meant to play Judas. Are they re-making it? Or is it just wishful thinking?

I’m just going through today’s posts and wanted to respond to Luval’s from way earlier today because I initially had the same impression that Roger didn’t seem overly enthusiastic about the performance. I’ve since listened to the interview several additional times and have come to the conclusion that Roger’s words are incredibly enthusiastic; it’s his tone that seems a bit hesitant or pensive. After sitting with it for a bit, I’ve come to the conclusion that he gave the perfect response, tone and all, as I’m sure he was taking great care to impress upon the listeners, particularly the die-hard Queen fans, that they did not view Adam as a replacement for Freddie. Also, as I recall from other Roger interviews, he never comes across as particularly exuberant. In his lovely accent, he seems to put a lot of careful thought into each word he utters.

I love Freddie and Queen, and no, Adam could never replace Freddie, nor would he ever want to, but watching and listening to some live Queen performances, Adam can absolutely out sing him.
I have so much respect for Freddie Mercury and his musical genius and I am not trying to take anything away from that. Just sayin!

Think Teri63 is correct – Roger sounded, IMO, as though being extremely careful to emphasize the uniqueness of Mercury and that for the band he could never be replaced. May be treading a bit of a minefield here.

Think Teri63 is correct - Roger sounded, IMO, as though being extremely careful to emphasize the uniqueness of Mercury and that for the band he could never be replaced. May be treading a bit of a minefield here.

HMMM I can’t hardly believe there have been no posts since I posted last night. Where are the night watchers?

Ok I think everything has been fixed now. The site itself was up (and comments in all of the other threads displayed fine), but there was a tech problem with wordpress resource limits being exceeded for the November chat thread due to the large number of comments (almost 2100 which is the most comments of any post on this site). This issue caused the comments to not display in the November thread.

I was able to change a configuration file and everything seems to be ok. If you run into more problems, send me an email via the administrator link in the upper right.

Sorry for the overnight tech problems!
