Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

UPDATE: 11/7/11 11 PM – Photos and videos still coming in from last night’s epic performance of Queen with Adam on lead vocals at the EMAs!

    Haha the blue shoes!

Just watched the video again. About 2 minutes in when Adam wails to Brian May’s guitar just gets me. So haunting and chilling and amazing.

I’ve noticed this with myself also. Every time I’ve watched this, just a few, it hits me at the same place. Something about the intensity of his voice during certain performances that just cuts into your being. OoL performance was another that affects me every time as he gets into the second verse. I wish I had an explanation of how he can manipulate my emotions on so many levels. Smile

    Good Morning

Got up in high spirits looking forward to reading more reviews about last nights EMA’s.

What is wrong with Entertainment Weekly? An Associated Press article is among the headlines on their website and is a lengthy and detailed summary of the show and … no mention of Adam Lambert.

Ten complaining comments later, the article was amended to include – “fronted by Adam Lambert”. Just a mention. And only after 10 people pointed out the omission. Rolls Eyes

Seems to me that Entertainment Weekly has a love/hate relationship going on with Adam that I find difficult to understand. Make up your mind EW!

    Hi nkd!

I think I can help you out. Wink

Most of my adult life I would sometimes ask people why certain singers will hit certain notes that make me have to urge to cry. Why do I feel like crying?! Where does that come from? Everyone I asked basically told me the same thing … “I guess you must be crazy”. Smile

Then one day a dear friend offered another opinion. “Why do some singers effect me so much that I feel like crying, Susan?”

“Because Ron … it touches your soul“.

I’ve always been grateful to Susan for solving a decades long mystery and it only took four simple words.

Cannot wait to get home from work to listen again! Wonder if we’ll eventually see the viewing numbers.

    Will FYE get a bump?

  9. adamized says:

Hello nkd and Ron am home sick today and hope you are still around to play a bit. Though I had a fever, a sore throat, and felt like total crap yesterday it was probably one of the most fun days I have had since at least July 29th. Though I still question Adam’s latest fashion choices I’m glad others find something delicious about his hair and shoe choices. Yesterday’s red carpet look was not my cup of tea..but who cares.

I think I have viewed Adam’s performance about 20 times and I am still finding more and more to be delighted by it. The first time I was way too nervous to appreciate the strength and beauty of his singing. By the 20th time I am still enchanted. His voice is so unique and his style so much his own.

Love the Adam made the Out100. Photo very fun indeed.

Sorry if this is old news. Article was posted 45 minutes ago:

Adam Lambert, who perfomed with Queen Sunday at MTV’s Europe Music Awards, has been named to the OUT100, OUT magazine’s list of the year’s most influential gay, lesbian and transgender men and women.

The issue also includes an interview with Adam conducted by OUT editor-in-chief Aaron Hicklin, who, last year, wrote an open letter to Adam criticizing the way the singer’s team was presenting him.

“I think the hardest thing about being a gay celebrity is that we’re in the middle of a social rights movement and it’s a very hot topic, so we’re at a very pivotal time,” Adam tells Hicklin. “Coming out was great, but there are certain issues that always surprise me and I think, Why is this an issue? I live and I’ve grown up in a space that is very accepting and open-minded; I surround myself socially with people that are artists and very bohemian and I forget sometimes that, OK, we’re dealing with mainstream culture now, which does not have the same mentality as I do. I think too that by nature I’m very contrary. If you tell me I can’t do something then I’m gonna push back harder and do it. I’m kind of rebellious, but I try to do it with a smile. I’m not a jerk about it. So a lot of what I did at the beginning of my career started to become reactionary.”

    Good Morning, adamized!

Sorry you’re not feeling well!! It is the Flu season and I’m sorry the bug got to you. Hope you feel better very soon!

  14. rainbowgal4 says:

Good Morning All – Get well adamized. One of my grandkids had to go to the hospital with this darn bug that’s floating around. Take in plenty of fluids.

Before going to work I had to watch the video a number of times. It’s still just a good, if not better, this morning.

I found this in the comments of one of the articles liked above:

I’m old enough and lucky enough to have seen Queen in concert several times. My favorite band growing up. I’d heard about this guy Adam Lambert a little but didn’t know much about him. When I heard he was going to sing with my favorite band, I thought it would be a disaster. Some kid who was trying to be another Freddie. But, I had to watch, it way my band.. They were great. But, I have to say, that kid was phenomenal. He knocked me off my self righteous pedestal He’s not Freddie but I don’t think he was trying to be. He has his own style and a voice like I’ve never heard before. Not Freddie, but just as good. I looked him up online and saw some of his other performances. He’s really got talent. You can bet I’ll be following his career from now on.

Sorry it’s so long. It’s again an example of getting fans one person at the time. I think that happened a lot since yesterday.

  15. nkd says:

    Hi adamized. Feel better soon!
I can play for a while. Yippee!

  16. nkd says:

rainbowgal, thank you for posting that comment. I actually got chills reading it.
Damn we are a smart bunch to have jumped on this train early! Wink

  17. rainbowgal4 says:

nkd I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one to have chills when reading that comment. In fact when I was reading it to my partner I started to cry. Either I way overtired from all the cleaning I’ve been doing or Adam has touched my soul. Thanks Ron for sharing your story.

  18. rainbowgal4 says:

This one made me laugh and it’s posted with no disrespect to the fans of Bieber, Jersey Shore or David H.

America gave the EMAs Hasselhoff, Jersey Shore girls and Justin Bieber, and for that we’re sorry. But then came Adam Lambert joining forces with the legendary Queen, and, well, you’re welcome!

Now off to do some more cleaning. Will be back in a couple of hours.

    http://content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2011/11/adam-lambert-makes-out100/1

I must have watched it 5 times already. Aside from the great things Roger says about Adam and the touching, thoughtful, and sensitive things Adam says, I love the comeraderie between them. I have no doubt that this won’t be the last we will see of the three of them performing together.

On a different note, maybe he was waiting until after this to release his new single, when everybody is talking about him, and in a very positive way. Very smart.

And on a totally different note, did you notice that hardly any of the articles even mentioned the streaker? Can you imagine what would have happened if something like that happened in the States? (I know, I know, it was staged.) Since I am only seeing the original version on my MTV station, I am wondering how it is being handled in North America, on MuchMusic or MTV-US. Are they showing it? covering up the “offending parts” (I wasn’t offended)? Just curious.

  23. nkd says:

From the wiki page for The Show Must Go ON

“‘The Show Must Go On’ came from Roger and John playing the sequence, and I started to put things down. At the beginning, it was just this chord sequence, but I had this strange feeling that it could be somehow important, and I got very impassioned and went and beavered away at it. I sat down with Freddie, and we decided what the theme should be and wrote the first verse. It’s a long story, that song, but I always felt it would be important because we were dealing with things that were hard to talk about at the time, but in the world of music, you could do it.”[4] ”
    —Brian May – 1994

Demo versions featured May singing, having to sing some parts in falsetto because they were too high. When Brian May presented the final demo to Mercury, he had doubts that Mercury would be physically capable of singing the song’s highly demanding vocal line, due to the extent of his illness at the time. To May’s surprise, when the time came to record the vocals, Mercury consumed a measure of vodka and said “I’ll fuckin do it, darling!” then proceeded to nail the vocal line in one take without problems.

The OUT interview. Maybe this is the one where he tweeted he was talking about us! Ron posted a snippet of it upthread.
    http://www.out.com/detail.asp?page=1&id=32382

We put the last album together in a month and a half—while I was on a nationwide tour with American Idol. I didn’t have time to think, to sleep. I was just doing what I could. And that’s hard when you don’t have perspective. Things get lost and you kind of forget the basics a little bit. And during this writing process for the past six or seven months, I’ve been living in a house in Los Angeles, I’m in a great relationship, I have some time to spend with my friends, I’ve had what has been the closest to a normal life since the whole American Idol thing. It felt really good.

This makes me feel bad for being impatient for the new album. ^

Which is what kind of music?
Dance music! My challenge was, how do I make dance music authentic to what I’m capable of vocally and what I do. That’s when I started getting into the funk arena. I mean, it’s still electronic, but it’s funky and it has a swing and listening to a lot of Michael Jackson and Prince and we just started going in that direction.

I have a very good friend who is a drummer here in Central New York. He’s a blues drummer, plays with a popular band here. Blues all the way. He did not like FYE. But I thought I’d take a chance and send him the Queen performance. Here is the e-mail I got back:

This is excellent to see! Its my “Song of The Day” on FaceBook. Go into my site and see what I said. But I will tell you that if Brian May & Roger Taylor are thinking of expanding on this idea—I think a lot of people would “Pay” and like to see that happen. Adam would have to “Relax” his solo career for a bit but to great benefit! This is the closest pairing to Freddie Mercury there could ever be! The challenge to Adam would be monumental!

I was shocked! He knows so so many people in the music biz and this endorsement and having it on his facebook page is monumental. I’m so happy I’ve turned another musician around!

  34. rainbowgal4 says:

luval – As has been said “one fan at a time” but this time I think you might have scored more than one fan. Good job!

And nkd I loved the BBC interview. I hope he doesn’t tour with Queen. I am much more interested in what he has created with this new album.

  35. nkd says:

Love the “Outlaw of Love” photo! And enjoyed the OUT article as well. Both Aaron and Adam have come a long way since that first OUT situation. I’m even more curious to hear the new music. At first, I was worried that Adam would go all WWFM and Adele-like and I am glad to see that he is doing music that he wants to do (with a funky twist). I “trust his gut” as his dad reminded him to do. I hope that 29 year-olds of all ages will be able to enjoy it! I’ve got my blue suede boogie shoes on! Wink

    Me, too, AL!
That article is making me even more eager for this new album than I’ve already been, if that is at all possible. I love how he mentions that he wants to keep his existing fans happy, but also hopes to gain new ones. Hmmmm ….. I’m thinking ballads, rock, pop, funk, rap, etc. That should do it for just about everyone, except for maybe country folks! Wink

  40. nkd says:

Adam is getting a lot of attention from this. That’s so great! We’ve seen how many Adam performances and are still blown away by it, can you imagine Adam virgins?

  41. glambotgram says:

This was also in the Urban Dictionary I am still laughing

    Glambulge

Is a word used to describe Adam Lambert’s glamorous and huge penis.

    Adam Lambert’s Glambulge is huge.

    GLAMBULGE

THE ENTIRE PACKAGE OF ADAM LAMBERTS PRIVATE PARTS. ALSO SOMETIMES REFERS TO THE SHAPE OR PROTRUSION OF THESE PRIVATE PARTS THROUGH PANTS / JEANS.

THOSE JEANS REALLY EMPHASIZE ADAM’S GLAMBULGE!

  42. nkd says:

Well glambotgram, I didn’t see that one! But then I didn’t need to look it up either! Wink Grin

  43. glambotgram says:

lol nkd I was looking up Glambert and noticed this was highlighted just below it. It still just cracks me up to read it.

I still say he is channeling Elvis with the “blue Suede Shoes” and now the Out photo shoot.

  45. HK fan says:

I’m glad Adam made the best dressed list, I quite liked what he was wearing, thought he looked good. I’ve only seen photos not a live clip, and did n’t see anyone else apart from Bruno Mars to compare it too. Thought the shoes were pretty cool for the event too, as soon as I saw them I thought of Elvis, very rock n roll!
Love that short BBC interview of the 3 of them…

  47. luval says:

Love that BBC interview. Now if only VH1 or MTV will re-air the show on prime time not 3am in the morning. His views are over 60,000 now! I’ve added at least 10 today.

Now I am going over to AQD and vote for that People’s Choice Award for ADam.

  48. dcglam says:

    Okay guys…..
I have watched this epic performance a multitude (lost count) of times. I am making the prediction that Adam will soon surpass Kelly, Carrie, and Daughtry as the most famous/successful contestant ever from Idol. Just his stage charisma alone speaks volumes and is unsurpassed, JMHO.

By the way, I have forwarded this performance to many of my friends/relatives.
    Keep those numbers going, YouTube!
