Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

UPDATE: 11/7/11 11 PM – Photos and videos still coming in from last night’s epic performance of Queen with Adam on lead vocals at the EMAs!

WOW — Just blown away once again, this time from my TV set. We turned it up nice and loud for the full effect. Can you imagine being there in that audience???
As emotional as I was watching it on the computer and TV, I surely would have needed a glambulance if I was in that audience.

  2. AL says:

Is anyone going to be able to create an MP4 for the video download? I am useless for this stuff!

PlanetFierce, here you go. From Cher…

haha – We’ve been waiting for this pic! The Lamb + The Hoff! Adam seems to be creeped out by The Hassel.

Just watched the “real” version on TV – many, many nice still shots of our boy during the closing credits! Smile

  5. Ron says:

The best part was that Adam paid his personal homage to Freddie and Queen by not being announced as Adam Lambert but just part of “Queen”. That is selflessness at its best because the tribute wasn’t about Adam but about the band. Kudos, Adam.

I haven’t been posting because I’ve been more upset about Adam not being recognized than anyone should be! What’s wrong with me?! Wink Please don’t respond. LOL

But with the above post and riskylady’s comment …

    b) not being name-checked, making it about Queen

… I’m starting to relax. Grin

The Show Must Go On. Wink

Has Perez said anything yet about any of the performances!!

I keep watching it – absolutely thrilling.

I noticed that, too, Texas. I didn’t remove my eyes from the screen until they went to a commercial. I especially love the dramatic pose at the end where he is standing with his arm up.

  9. luval says:

Many many posts on other sites talk about Adam’s name not being mentioned. But in a good way! He made Queen the star! btw what happened to the “40th anniversary tribute” to Queen. Shouldn’t they have been given a plaque or something? In fact besides not mentioning Adam, no one mentioned the tribute. Kind of an odd show if you ask me.

As I think back on the show, most of the performers just showed up. Adam stole the show.

Doesn’t MTV here in the states repeat this show? Or maybe VH1.

    Hi loveroftalent!

Was curious about that myself and I just checked. Hilton’s last Tweet was 3 hours ago and wasn’t about Adam. So, nothing at this point.

    Ha — As I would be….. Wink

    Back. Finally!
    Just read all the comments.
In love with Adam and all of you.
SUCH a performance! SUCH wonderful fellow-flailers!

THIS is what the AMA’s should have been. But if it had been so, we would likely not have had the low-budget GlamNation Tour. And I wouldn’t give that up for anything. And I think it was good for Adam to learn that lesson early on and get it out of the way.
And now, he can take his place among the greats. Compare that performance to ANYTHING and Adam wins. Hands down no contest.

Re not being named – I love all the explanations, humility etc. But I also wonder if it wasn’t just an oversight by a tired (and young) Selena Gomez at the very end of the show which seemed to be almost running late, or at least down the wire. Wonder if she had been given the word to introduce quickly? This may be more likely…there are a lot of ways that Adam’s name could have been mentioned and in no way detracted from the fact that it was QUEEN playing. Just a thought.

(Yes, sistasif, I liked it! Smile Should have made myself clearer lol… )

  13. luval says:

Who or what is The Hassel?

  14. Kradamour says:

    David Hasselhoff.

  15. turquoisewaters says:

“and bad mistakes, I’ve made a few”
I agree with krad, this is what the AMAs should have been.
I think after this he can finally really move on. Redemption.

  16. AL says:

Who or what is The Hassel?

luval, it’s just me being silly. It’s David Hasselhoff. He always says “Don’t hassle the Hoff”. But I see it more like David is the one “hassling” the others thus to me he is The Hassel! Wink

  17. Ron says:

David H. Older man talking about beautiful ladies in the room next to his dressing room and drilling a hole through the wall so that … punchline … “they can see me get undressed”. Rolls Eyes

Tacky, sleazy and a strong sense that he thinks he’s funny and wonderful. Another Rolls Eyes

No disrespect to David H. fans.

  18. luval says:

Thanks Al and Kradamour, I only know him as the Huff! And I see that the tribute award was given earlier in the evening.

Off to the drugstore. Does anyone need a funnel while I’m out? Grin

  21. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

dcglam, I think that Adam’s every move tonight could’ve been captured in a beautiful still shot. He seriously hasn’t made such a perfect appearance ever, IMO. From the clothes, shoes, stage presence, vocals, (and even the hair, lol), it all came together into one sexy, confident, talented, beautiful package!

  22. turquoisewaters says:

You guys have no idea what a sinking feeling I got when I saw the blue outfit with the clown shoes. Was that on purpose so the fierce performance outfit would make a greater statement?

  23. dcglam says:

I wish I could just give him a big hug.

Well said, turquoisewaters and kradamour. This does show us something of what the AMAs could have been. Imagine if WWFM had been the lead single instead of FYE, and Adam had done the green laser/smoke tornado performance from Idol to close the AMAs instead. People would have been blown away. But, things worked out the way they did, and we got an unforgettable tour and were able to experience Adam in smaller venues as a result. I don’t think any of us would trade the GNT experience for anything. NOW, he (and we) can move on from the AMAs to the next thing.

    Redemption.

  25. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

turqoisewaters, I’ve avoided discussing the pink carpet look on purpose, lol. Can’t say that I loved it (but the performance look more than made up for it!)

Gee, I hope Gaga had time to get back to her seat and enjoy the performance of the night! Smile

  26. nkd says:

I have to laugh at those blue shoes.
    But UNF to this!

He was just perfect tonight. All of those pictures with Brian and Roger as if he were one of the band. What an incredible amazing night. (Long long days leading into this wonderful night!)
Last week all was quiet waiting for Novembert! Just when the crickets start chirping, BOOM!

  27. luval says:

    Haha the blue shoes!

Just watched the video again. About 2 minutes in when Adam wails to Brian May’s guitar just gets me. So haunting and chilling and amazing.

And I just realized…he closed the show! WOW!

Wonder if we’ll hear somehow from any peeps who were at the show?

  28. luval says:

Can anyone see the pendant in that pic that nkd just posted? Is it a face?

  29. Ceddies says:

I’ve watched and watched the video all evening. I love the little bow that he did around 1:45 when he sang “but my smile, still stays on”. Also loved the arms-raised-Freddie-Poses that he did several times. Great performance. I don’t think anyone can find fault with this any way they might try.

  30. nkd says:

I think the pendant is a skull. Click on the view full size. It’s big! Wink

  31. AL says:

Can anyone see the pendant in that pic that nkd just posted? Is it a face?

Kind of looks like a skull.

  32. Ceddies says:

Oh yeah, has anyone seen any comments from Queen themselves about Adam’s performance or how they thought the show went?

  33. Ellessay says:

I had to go out this afternoon, so I was afraid I’d miss the EMA’s. When I got home, I found that it wasn’t broadcast here on TR3 until 6pm. I’ve been pretty nervous about how it was going to go for him. I was glad to see all the flailing and sqeeing going on.

I didn’t click on the video though, since I wanted to see it big screen first. I got my dvd recorder ready to record, and waited impatiently for Queen. Unfortunately, I was so mesmerized that I forgot to press RECORD. I suppose I should look into getting a DVR.

It’s too bad this performance didn’t happen before his Majors & Minors appearance. If he wanted to mentor those kids on how to own the stage, he just needed to show them the video of this performance. (Although I’m sure I will enjoy just listening to him talk on the show.) Such a magnetic man.

  34. ultimathule says:

nkd – that twitpic you put up – that’s the official end of Idol – lol.

And, looking back, yup, Paula knew her stuff – iconic – definitely.

I’ll repeat, too – if people didn’t know him when he started to sing, they do by now.

  35. luval says:

It looks like the “skull” has a head of hair. Adam’s hair. Smile

And Ceddies, loved that little bow too.

and Brian May looks very happy and content! At the end when Brian kind of flopped to the stage it seemed to me that he was flabbergasted even though they had rehearsals.

Now that is a great picture. With a smiling Brian May in the background. Epic. Adam must be over the moon right now.

  37. nkd says:

Look at this pic too. You can see another angle of the pendant.

  38. luval says:

nkd, now it looks like a little spaceman. My eyes are gone after staring at the computer for 9 hours.

Ceddies, I haven’t seen any comments but this is from their twitter account:

I’m sure we will hear more in the coming days!

  40. nkd says:

Oh yeah, Adam is to be doing press this week in the UK, right?

  41. Ron says:

What?!! Just watched the TV broadcast on MuchMusic and Adam’s performance began with “We Will Rock You”. They cut “The Show Must Go On”. Glad I took a lighten up pill. Geez!

  42. AL says:

I have it recorded and will watch it soon. It’s unfortunate that they cut “The Show Must Go On” though since that IMO was the best part. Oh well, at least it’s on Youtube.

PREACH! RT @VestaRose: How ironic that the best performer at the #MTVEMAs didn’t win, wasn’t nominated, and was barely mentioned.

  48. Ron says:

    Hi mieps!

    Nice to see you again!

I sat through the entire 2+ hours of the “live” show on the internet and had the TV broadcast on in the background when it aired. Wasn’t paying close attention until it was time for Adam’s performance.

Was anything else cut from the original show or was it only Adam?! Memories of “Mad World” when it stretched past 9:00pm as Adam/Queen’s appearance did for the EMA’s.

Was it just Canada or was it also edited in the U.S.?

  49. Ceddies says:

I have often wondered about the number of views on YouTube videos. Sometimes it seems that they never change or at least change slowly. The EMA’s video shows 302 views and something like 1529 “likes”. I was just reading some of the comments below this video, and someone has an explanation that the count stops at the end of the day and will be updated the next morning. Don’t know if that’s true, but it sounds plausible. I will be checking the count tomorrow morning. We know more than 302 have viewed this one if by no other way than the number of “likes”.
