Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

    Just checked my onscreen Guide for TV shows and the EMA’s are listed and the time is 8:00pm. Here the channel is 29. I thought it would run for 3 hours but it’s a 2 hour show.

    Thanks, mils. I have been listening to some Queen over the last few days of uncertainty…but I just don’t like it. Don’t like Queen, don’t get Freddie (but clearly his voice is amazing, regardless of my personal taste) – but that doesn’t matter, because I have all of you to be happy for. Not to mention that clearly Adam is over the moon.
    So it’s all good, and I am prepared to flail! Smile

    I’m still a bit confused about the time element for tomorrow.
    I originally thought it was going to be televised here on the east coast around 8 tomorrow evening. According to the recently posted updated televised schedule, it seems we may be scheduled for 4:00 in the afternoon. Ultimathule, adamized, and Kradamour…. you all live out in my area. Any thoughts here???

    Good to see I am not the only one excited but so nervous for Adam,I feel sick.

    He just has to do what we all know he is capable of and blow everyone away. Not just anyone would be asked to sing with Queen. They know and we know he is amazingly talented.

    Thanks to Brian May for giving Adam this awesome opportunity.

    Adam’s family, friends, and Sauli must be so proud.

    Hi dcglam! I hope I didn’t add to the confusion. It would apppear by the chart that I too would be watching at 4:00PM if I was going to see the “live” broadcast. But I have to know now that it’ll be a taped airing of the show at 8:00PM.

    I think it’s a safe bet that someone will already have Adam’s performance(s) on YouTube before the taped show begins.

    Kradamour, I understand you not liking a band. I can think of several that no matter how much you listen it doesn’t help. For me Grateful Dead, Abba, Dave Matthews, Coldplay…these are or were all huge and I just didn’t get it.

    Now that it’s pretty much public, I hope Adam tunes out everything and just sings. He can’t have that adrenalin take over him except in a good way. Please please universe let it all happen organically. The publicity is starting to sound like 2 yrs ago and it makes me so nervous for him.

    luval, I was thinking the same thing – this does bring back memories of November 2009. Hopefully Adam learned from that experience and will go out and kill it this time like we all know he can.

    Aww – Adam’s tweet Smile So glad he is happy and in love. Hopefully Sauli will help keep him calm. IIRC, Adam and Drake had broken up before the AMAs in 2009.

    ultimathule…. I have FIOS out here in Fairfax. I am seeing channel 1660 listed for Tr3s and MTV. That happens to be a Spanish station, but I am still planning to check it out at 8:00 now.

    Kradam, Who Wants to Live Forever is one of the most beautiful and evocative songs by Queen, written by Brian May. Below is Freddie’s version, but I also included Sarah Brightman’s beautiful cover, which you might like.

    I would absolutely LOVE for Adam to sing this, I think he would just sing it better than anyone – he could reach the higher notes that Freddie didn’t quite.

    kradamour, don’t know if you found these samples, but thought you MAY enjoy these two links. The first one just sounds so celestial to me. I BELIEVE Freddie may have written the opera-type songs. I know she asked him to write some songs for them to sing together. Freddie was just like no other–way ahead of his time and his own person. That’s why Adam seems so like him, so many of his mannerisms and (seemingly)his thought processes in writing. JMO.

    Well hi Ron!
    I want Adam to sing all of them! But if I had to choose…Under Pressure if Bowie is there because that would be the ultimate for Adam. But you just can’t beat Bohemian Rhapsody, the best song ever! We only heard Adam in a short clip at the auditions. But then, Killer Queen is great, and Play the Game…

    Adam is in a lot better place than he was 2 years ago with the AMA’s. He has a Grammy nod, and almost sold out tour, a new album coming out, lots of shows he was a guest on, so people believed in him, A great boyfriend, everything is going his way, he was kinda in a bad way before the AMA’s and felt he had something to prove, now he only needs to entertain, with a Historic band, and support from around the world, it cant get any better for him, and I cant wait for the world to see him, because he is going to have a performance that will be talked about for years.

    This will be something I think that will change his life and future. Now lets all hold hands and think happy thoughts for Adam! I am so happy and proud for him!!!!!!!!

    Miss Chaos, thanks for your calming words, lol. I’m “alot” late to the party, but what a treat to sit down with my laptop after a long day to this amazing news. Smile Initial reaction: Flashbacks of November 2009. But like others have said, I’m positive that Adam is now in a better space personally and has learned from his prior, overly-hyped TV appearance. This is such exciting news; everything about it is perfect. So excited for him and for us.

    Texas, do you have MTV3? It airs on that at 5pm CT. As for the stream, gee, I just don’t know anymore! Wink
    I think if it’s at 9pm GMT, that will be 3pm CT for the stream and 2pm for the pre-show.

    Question – should we have a special separate thread for the EMAs, or keep the chat tomorrow here in the November monthly thread? The philosophy here has been that we would not have separate threads for every TV appearance, but this may be a special case given the magnitude of this event. What do you guys think?

    Luval, did you listen to the link I posted above of Love of My Life? It’s so emotional because Freddie started to become very sick after this concert in 1986, but the huge crowd just loves him.

    We know that Adam learns from his mistakes and doesn’t make the same one twice. I’m not worried at all, truly. I think he will kill it and his performance will in fact herald the second important stage in his career after Idol.

    Re time – I agree (hope!) that it will be youtubed before the taped showing at 8 pm, especially since I won’t be able to watch at 8, with no TV!

    Re Queen – thank you for the links, guys. I listened and really tried to like it. But I just don’t. And that’s okay! This isn’t about Queen, it is about Adam. And THERE, I have no hesitation at all! Smile
    Can’t wait until tomorrow! Smile
