After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

little dutchess – I wouldn’t worry about the grandkids. My 7- and 9-year old granddaughters love the album – I spoke to their father about the eff word and he said – they’ve heard a lot worse than that – lol.

It was also interesting that the 9-year-old said she likes this album better than FYE. The two girls played the album twice at the house today and danced to the first half. The 9-year-old also said that she loves “Underneath.” Played it many times on my iPod. Asked for the CD to play in her parents’ car.

My 25-year-old niece e-mailed me about her copy and said how she loved the entire album, particularly “Nirvana.” I’m sure I’ll get more reviews as I give the album to all my kids and grandkids.

As for myself, unlike FYE, there are no tracks that I skip. Some I favor more than others – but that’s about it. NCOE is probably my least favorite – still don’t like (what I consider) the “weak” intro – glad Adam’s shortened it.

The album is absolutely wonderful, marvelous, and musical nirvana. It deserves all the praise it’s receiving and, if there’s justice in the universe, should receive a Grammy.

I’m not so worried about what words they hear, or the adult themes, but I don’t want my 6 year old granddaughter singing some of those lines because you can be sure it would be in the most inappropriate place/time! I know she’d love the music.

I’m still awake, guess tonight is NCOE for me.

The snippet of the video looks interesting. I’m a little reminded of Hunger Games and Bad Romance. I know Adam was very impressed with that video. So is half the world! It has nearly a billion hits. Literally.

Reading through posts, Kradamour, your reaction to Underneath is quite literally how many of us have felt. I simply cannot imagine that song live. During GN I wrote so much about how Soaked made me feel. The feeling in Hawaii, so up close, so emotional, many people around me were feeling it, wiping their eyes, looking around at each other in wonder. And asking out loud ” Are you crying too?”

Now, Underneath makes my chest heavy, my heart just breaks for the emotion he is expressing, and this is the recording. Live? Honestly, my knees would go weak. This song is so raw.

But, please listen again. I swear that every time I listen to it, I hear another nuance, another inflection, meanings, it is just genius, both vocally and lyrically.

I love, truly love every song on the album. I was sometimes skipping NCOE and BTIKM because, like many of you, I wanted to get to the new stuff. But now as I’ve listened to them all a “few” times, I’ve been letting them play. BTIKM still is so beautiful.
Trespassing is moving up on the favorites list which is 15 songs long! Shady gets repeated a lot, Cuckoo, Naked Love, Kickin In, and Pop That Lock are so much fun. Broken English and Chokehold are sexy, I love his voice in these. Underneath just gets to me, as does OOL, although it took me some time getting used to the studio version. Runnin’, Take Back and Nirvana are perfect! If this was the direction he was originally taking, I would have been tickled with it as well. I am glad he ended up making the album he wanted, at least I hope he did.
When I wake up in the mornings I usually have either Runnin or Take Back playing in my head, but today it was Naked Love. Changes all the time. How lucky are we that we mostly love everything on the new album of this sexy man we stan?
Except luval doesn’t like Kickin In!

Hey gang! I can’t believe I haven’t been here for almost a week. It’s been all I could do to keep up with Twitter, reviews, interviews, articles, performances, listening to the album, watching the DVD, etc. etc., on top of work and family duties. I just couldn’t squeeze in keeping up here as well. Anyway, I’ll catch up on all of your posts sometime later.

Just wanted to pop in to say hi, and that I LOVE the entire album, love the great reviews, love all the wonderful interviews and articles, loved the Idol performance of NCOE, loved the ustream of the Boston show today, love the NCOE video teaser. Good God, with Adam the awesomeness never ends. Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

I really do love the entire album. The order of tracks is perfect, and I love each and every one of them. My very favorites right now are Cuckoo, Shady, Naked Love, Broken English, Underneath, OOL, Runnin’, and Nirvana, with a fond shout-out to NCOE because I want it to be a big hit and the music video promises to be epic.

So excited to see Adam live at the Freshtival in DC. Can’t believe it’s only one week away!

Has this screencap from the NCOE MV been posted here yet? UNF

And someone slowed down the NCOE MV teaser, stretching it from 17 seconds to 1.5 minutes, so that you can really see what’s happening.

Finally, please forgive me if this has already been posted (I’ve checked the last couple of pages, but don’t have time to go further back to check), but this is hilarious – Jack Black talking about sitting next to Adam on the plane.

    This is crazy good news!
    http://www.twitlonger.com/show/hfg3k8

NEWS ALERT! Just got back from BEST BUY. I had to run an errand over toward the east side of Dallas, in Mesquite, which tbh probably leans more country. The highschool kids are usually in cowboy boots/jeans. I saw a Best Buy so I ran in to check the stock #cray and I was so disappointed because there were many copies of the deluxe at the New Release area and the end caps. I stopped a young guy nearby and held up a copy of TP deluxe. I asked him who was in charge of the music area and he said the lady was out to lunch but he helped her stock. I said I was really surprised that there were so many of these (holding up Trespassing Deluxe) and he said: WAIT FOR IT…. we just restocked 30 minutes ago. I said, ok I see, how many did you have to start with. He said THREE HUNDRED. I said, really, ARE YOU SURE? He looked at me funny and said, yes, I’m positive, we got 2 big boxes in on Tuesday. I said, and you ran out? He said yes, that’s been selling like crazy. EEEEP!

  8. HK fan says:

I too love every song on the album, probably kickin in is my least favourite, still really like it though. Love underneath, but I understand kradamour? saying she can’t listen to it again. Its amazing when songs do that, we played Hayley Westnra’s Heaven at my mums funeral, a beautiful song with amazing lyrics but because of the association now I can’t play it without bawling my eyes out.
I disagree with Ultimathule though (is that ok?) about NCOE, I love the studio version with the slower build up and have missed it on the last couple of performances.
Loved the Kiss concert, thought he seemed really happy, and sounded amazing, loved that version of NCOE, even more vocally than the Idol one.
Its really beginning to look like he may make number 1 on BB this week, when are the final numbers announced?
My son just asked me if I was going to summersonic (in japan), I said I really wanted to but his dad didn’t…so he said he’d come with me!! He’s just found out lots of his friends are going, and has now seen the line up which has many of his favourites…I told him to speak to his dad! Never ever thought I’d get one of my kids on my side about seeing Adam.

  9. cher says:

I’m definitely a SHADY girl all the way. Love it!! That’s a legitimate radio hit I believe. Hope it makes it there.
I’m off to check Adam’s cds at Target in the morning (make that when I wake up Laugh ) and am prepared to cause a scene if there aren’t any/too few in stock. Grin (if you believe that Kiss )
My one day off Sunday and sooooo many places to go and people to see. I have a list 1/2 mile long… feel like tearing it up
and going into hiding with my Trespassing cd. ROTFL

  10. HK fan says:

I’ve watched Adam 4 times on idol so far, they repeat it a lot over here, plus his GNT concert, and have seen his BTIKM video a couple of times on channel V, plus a few clips and short interview over the weekend. its been a nice Adam on my tv weekend Smile

  11. ultimathule says:

Yes, HK – don’t mind the longer intro of NCOE on the album, but on stage don’t think it works as well. Altough I remember when he did WWFM with the lasers – that was a long, slow intro – so definitely could be wrong.

  12. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

This is interesting – posted by “julia” at mj’s about 45 minutes ago re Adam’s video snippet:

I’ve just been over at youtube and noticed a very interesting statistic below the video Vevo posted 5 days ago:

This video is most popular with:
    Female 13-17
    Male 13-17
    Male 18-24

Guess the world didn’t get the idolbert memo about adam fan demographics!

  13. Kradamour says:

Love the nice posts to sit down to this morning!

mils, I really can’t listen to Underneath again. I tried last night after I posted…and I literally couldn’t breathe, and my chest was so tight that I skipped it.
So I ripped the CD again, leaving off Underneath. I honestly don’t think it is safe for me to listen to it. Even hearing it in my head while I am typing this, my heart is pounding and I can’t breathe normally.
It’s the damndest thing. In all my 29 years, there has never been a piece of music – pop, orchestral, operatic, rock, anything – that I physically cannot listen to.

Good morning! I updated the Fantabuloso thread with a full set of videos:
    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2012/live-fantabuloso-chicago-il-51812/

Thanks again to AL for hosting yesterday’s KISS/Boston thread. AL has already included a recording of the live stream (forward to the point indicated to find Adam), and I’ll probably be addding some videos as well later today.

Here is the radio station page for today’s KTUPhoria event at the PNCBank Center in Holmdel NJ:
    http://www.ktu.com/pages/events/ktuphoria/2012/

This venue has a capacity of 17,000+ and is only a few miles away from Sayreville, where the second Glam Nation Tour show occurred at Starland Ballroom.

There is no indication that there will be a live stream (at least not of the official variety) for tonight’s show. Given that, and since this will be another short set similar to the past two events, I’m not planning to have a live concert thread for tonight. Please use the May chat thread instead.

Doors at 5pm, show starts at 6pm. I don’t know when in the lineup Adam will appear.

Loved reading everyone’s thoughts and feelings about the album, thanks for sharing!

More positive press from Matt Carter:

    http://cartermatt.com/17204/american-idol-notes-adam-lambert-lee-dewyze-and-carrie-underwood/

For our Sunday version of “American Idol” notes, we have a pair of new videos — plus some rather surprising comments courtesy of Carrie Underwood.

“Never Close Our Eyes” video teaser – We love that Adam Lambert seems to be getting more creative about some of his music videos as time goes by, and his “Never Close Our Eyes” teaser represents that better than anything.

We still have no idea what this video is about, but it feels almost akin to watching “Minority Report,” “Requiem for a Dream,” and the pilot episode of “Chuck” all at the same time — and it’s pretty cool because of it. We’re usually not a fan of these video teasers (in particular when there are like three or four of them before the actual video is released — see Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend”), but this one works because it shows off a surprising sort of style and has something interesting to say.

    Hi Miss Chaos!

I was the thinking the opposite. Big Smile

Everyone is being forced to take pills to make them close their eyes but Adam refuses and is the lone holdout … “Never!”

Am back in town…trying to catch up…LOVE all the great reviews!!! Finally made it to B&N Friday to get my RS…awesome picture…they had 1 Deluxe alb left and 4 “regulars”.

My glambabies liked FYE, but I had to mute fu.fu.fu..in Fever! There is no way their parents will allow them to listen to Tsp…Bible belt, remember…but I might play Runnin for them!

My favorites are Runnin & Shady, altho I LOVE the whole album!
Nirvana brings tears to my eyes because it is the perfect ending after all the angst and hurt in BE, OOL and Underneath.

Going to Best Buy tomorrow to check out their supply! At least Target had Tsp right on the aisle, top shelf, with new releases. B&N had it with new releases, down at the bottom, and not prominently displayed…but only one left!

  22. fwachdr says:

ETA. I flove Jack Black…he is hilarious, and the plane encounter with AFL was hilarious!!!

    Hi jlurk!

Went to the mall…stopped at Target to see what they had. CD’s were in the new music section. 8 deluxe, 2 regular. Don’t know what to compare with LOL.

Just to set the record straight in regards to Kickin In, I think I found out what annoys me. It’s the beginning odd ball sounds (to me) that resemble an alien space ship with the choir behind. Don’t mind the choir. Guess I’ll just have to pretend it’s Adam landing from Planet Fierce.

It’s gonna be hot as hell on that parking lot. Hope peeps have plenty of water.

  27. luval says:

Ron…but how does the video end? There will be a twist, of course.

  28. rs says:

Eywflyer asks: What is my honest opinion on Trespassing? It would be an understatement to say that I am freakin’ head-over-heals, pie in the sky, jumpin’ up and down in love with it!!!!!!!!!!! (Surprise Surprise)

Now that I have gotten that out of my system, I see it as a whole entity that is greater that its parts, and I listen to it without skipping any songs. How do I choose favorites? (notice the plural). I love different songs for different reasons.

Trespassing is Adam’s mission statement, his fierce autobiography. It is who he is and it gets me smiling, singing along, and dancing every time. I am just so proud of him every time I hear this song.

Underneath is the other side of the coin of who he is. It is so gorgeous, gut wrenching, honest, and emotional. And the VOICE!

I love the lyrics of Take Back and Broken English, there are lines and phrases in just about every song that are meaningful to me.

And I love Shady, Runnin, OOL, Kickin In, Nirvana, each one does something else for me. One gets me down and dirty, one pushed me forward, one lifts me up…..The ones I haven’t mentioned are part of the whole and I love them, too. I have to say, though, that I am enjoying his live performances of Naked Love more than the album version.

So different and yet they are so obviously part of the same album.

I am writing this without the album before me, and I am sure that as soon as I post this I will remember something very important that I wanted to say about another of my favorites.

It is funny, before Adam, I hadn’t listened to popular music for years, and even now, most songs I hear, I turn off before they are half over because I get bored. I can listen to Adam’s music over and over again and never get tired of it. Is he really that special, or am I just nuts?

  29. nkd says:

luval, I’m pretty sure that they are just doing some rehearsal in the parking lot.
    Adam is probably changing something!
It would be hot in the parking lot! Laugh

  30. Kradamour says:

AL and eywflyer, thank you for this!
AL has already included a recording of the live stream (forward to the point indicated to find Adam)

luval, when you contact the venues about Adam performing, what exactly do you say? There is no tour planned right now, so do you just give a general heads up? Planning to do the same here.

  31. Miss Chaos says:

That picture over at Planet Fierce, I would bring it over but I dont know how to attach links or pictures, anyhow the one of
Ryan staring up at Adam as he is performing on Idol, Ryan looks scarely like Dick Clark, dontca think? Heh

  32. luval says:

Thanks, nkd…I knew that (about the actual venue). If I left now I could make it by 6pm…NO…not gonna do it!

  33. milwlovesadam says:

rs, honey, if you are nuts, well, then so am I!! Before Adam, I rarely listened to the same music over and over again. But, then, we didn’t have ways to do it! I mean sure, I had a boom box, but the listening wasn’t that good. I had cassette decks in my cars, better. My listening to vinyl had long since disappeared, along with my record player.

I am not into IPods and earbuds. Being in my profession, I know the permanent damage it causes to your hearing. So, I won’t be one of the “portable music” people.

Needless to say, I have found ways to hear Adam. And, I could listen to him sing all day. And sometimes I do. I am never bored with his voice. Ever.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

luval, I was 90 minutes from Chicago. I now regret not going. Oh well.

    You have other shows right?

  35. Ron says:

    luval says:
    05/20/2012 at 1:53 pm

Ron…but how does the video end? There will be a twist, of course.

Just guessing, of course, but I think the theme might be about close minded people who refuse to open their eyes and look below the surface to see, understand and appreciate people and accept their differences. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in.

In the video, there are groups of people left in society who refuse to close their eyes and want to be open, clear and receptive to all people, all issues, and to understand the human condition.

These resistant groups are being medicated to force them to close their eyes and Adam will emerge in the end as their liberator. Not only to these small groups of people but to the world.

Well, if they paid me to write the script, that’s the concept I would have come up with. Don’t make judgements based on outward appearances. Never close our eyes to the wondrous possibilities that lie below and are within each individual.

I got all that in 17 seconds. Laugh Laugh Laugh

Of course the vid itself will be completely different!

  36. Ron says:

luval and I wondered yesterday about the size of the audience in Boston. I first guessed 5,000 but then, at a different camera angle, it looked much larger. I guessed 10,000.

    Now we know, luval:

    Adam Lambert ‘Trespasses’ Into Boston
    May 20, 2012 01:55 PM EDT

Yesterday Adam Lambert performed at KISS 108’s “KISS Concert 2012” in Boston to a crowd of about 20,000 people. Just before hitting the stage Adam tweeted, “Boston Kiss 108 Concert!! Pumped!!” Boston Fans have been eagerly awaiting the event since Adam announced it back in March. Adam played a 5-song set, including his new songs Trespassing, Kickin In, Shady, and Naked Love. He also brought back the hit single from his début album, Whataya Want From Me.

  37. nkd says:

luval, I knew you knew all about the venue, since you researched all of the concerts around you! Smile

It’s really not fair that all of these shows are within a couple to a few hours driving distance to you! *pouts*

  38. nkd says:

I hope the sound is better today!

  39. mmm222 says:

I just came in from the garage and am a “nirvana state”. I was listening to the CD while driving home and Nirvana finished just as I arrived. I had to listen again with my eyes closed. Just amazing! I love listening to music as I drive and it’s rarely been anything but Adam in recent years. Sometimes I feel like I’m in a movie, driving along, feeling great with a fabulous sound track to affirm how I feel. When I’m not in the car and don’t have music playing, little snippets of songs will pop into my head to go along with the mood of the hour. Trespassing provides so much more material for that inner sound track.

My 23 year old son says he feels the same way about music. He and I have taken a number of long driving trips together and share the same taste in music, so we’ve had some great highway sound tracks over the years. One favorite was listening to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young while driving through the Utah desert from Salt Lake City to Moab for hiking trips 3 years in a row when he was in high school. It’s such a good memory.

I spoke to my son yesterday. He’s also an Adam fan. He read the Rolling Stone review and was very impressed by the 4 star rating. In fact he was really excited and went on and on about how great the rating was, especially coming from Rolling Stone. He’ll be home for a couple of days the week after next and will get his copy of the CD from me then. It’s good to have younger Adam fans who hopefully will bring more of their peers into the fold.

  40. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, you have a wonderful concept. I have a feeling you are fairly accurate.

Adam in jail for being open-minded, eyes open to the human condition.

On another note, did anybody else notice the strange little diamond shape under the open eye, in the under-eye area? Wonder what that is?

Are we really getting a stream today?

yikes…20,000 people yesterday. And 1900 (?) at Wilkes Barre Friday. And Kradamour and the rest of you going to WB plus Washington…it should be very interesting to compare the sound.

mils…am going to Springle & Wilkes Barre. Would be more but work interferes.

Kradamour…here is an example of an e-mail I sent. It’s a little dorky but whatever:

    Hello,

Am sending this e-mail as a request for you to look into getting worldwide
superstar Adam Lambert to perform at the Landmark. I have seen him 15 times
including traveling to Paris to see this amazing singer. He just
released his 2nd album and it’s due to debut on Billboard at number one. He’s
recently appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Good Morning American and on
American Idol just a couple of days ago.

His tour hasn’t even been announced yet but it’s expected to be the end of this
year or early next year. Believe me you will get people flying in from all over the
    world to see him.

I don’t know how you would reach his management but I’m sure you have your ways!

So thank you again for considering this!
