After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

I love that Rockin’ Ron/Shady video, Oksana! Hilarious!!! I especially love the dog running around in the background. Laugh Dog

  2. Kradamour says:

And I like it better when the band is “tighter” around him – on that big a stage it looks a little too spread out.

Yes, I thought that, too. It was a big stage! But he moved around and owned it, and made sure to connect with each member of the team and point to and thank them at the end.
We are spoiled from GN and the small stages where everyone was together for easy viewing, because damn straight no one is going to take their eyes off of Adam to look away at someone else! Not even his band!

Didn’t think the stage needed that fog stuff, though. (But it was great for Lisa-Marie. Just downloaded that song, can’t get it out of my head. So smoky and hypnotic.)

Oksana, Trespassing was the first album on the albums list when I went to the store to download Lisa Marie. Does that not indicate rank? I have never really paid attention to this until this week, sorry if I am confused and spreading confusion!

Both the performance and the pants made me very happy.

    This! Grin

The permance was amazing…Adam looked so beautiful and sexy….Wow…

I wish some fans of others were not so mean when it comes to Adam….He is so supportive of their idols….

Looks like the judges stuck around for pics anyway. Steven always finds the pretty girls.

We are NOT going to be the bumblebee brigade.
    Pain Pain Pain

I once taught at a school whose colors were black and yellow. Spirit days were a nightmare. You could almost hear the buzzing sound.

There is a limit to what I will do for love of Adam.
    This is it.
Adam should not look out into a sea of bees.

I’ve been playing this performance non-stop over and over again.

Well, I guess that’s what “non-stop” means. Silly

I’m reacting to this the same way that I did when I saw the EMA performance.

I just can’t get enough of it.

But, I would do yellow nails.

Upthread someone was talking about the San Diego homecoming. I remember Adam saying there was no parade because it is SoCal, and there are so many celebrities there, it’s hard to garner enough enthusiasm for another one, especially a new celebrity.

Believe me, Milwaukee has a lot to do. When Gokey came home, he came to our huge festival grounds, Summerfest. The actual festival is 10 days with every big act over many stages, with a million attendees. It was just voted as one of the top 10 music festivals by Rolling Stone.

It still makes me laugh slyly when talking about the huge crowd for Gokey. Sure there was a lot of hometown pride, BUT, they gave away free tickets to Summerfest if you went to see him. So, my kids and all their friends did this:

Enter festival grounds through turnstyle. Get yer tickets. Exit. Re-enter through another turnstyle. Get more tickets.

They each got enough tickets to have free admission to Summerfest for each of the 10 days of the festival. Using those free tickets, they saw BB King, Peter Frampton, Derek Trucks with Susan Tedeschi, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Matisyahu, Buddy Guy, Elvis Costello, and many others for free.

What did they do when Gokey was on stage for his homecoming?
They hung out on the lake shore, at least a whole block away from the stage. They didn’t give a hoot about the Goke-ster. Counting their tickets!!!

I am thinking maybe black and yellow rubber bracelets.
(RCA marketing peeps, are you listening?)

yawn! Too much excitement. Wonder if I might watch something else on TV one day. If not, that was a fricking expensive program tonight! We kept thinking we might turn it on and watch something, but we never had time. Maybe this summer.

    Okay, peeps, off to bed.
    G’nite!

nkd, no yello clothes for me. But, I would do a yellow piece of jewelry or purse, or something.

And, I do think Ryan’s yellow pocket square was meant to match our BB. ( ha, now all I can think is Bumble Bee).

  19. nkd says:

I kind of think this may be a rare occasion of a yellow shirt for Adam. We probably won’t see it too often, if ever again!
Maybe on a beach with the turquoise shorts!

  20. cgesq says:

Adam was fantastic!!! I absolutely loved the neon yellow. I also loved the neon face paint on Brian and Tommy. It all looked so psychedelic Smile

Anyway, great Adam story….I was in my zumba class this evening. The instructor is a very enthusiastic 19 year old man, Nick, who I really like. His class is very high energy and loads of fun. We have chatted somewhat both before and after class, but I have never brought up Adam before.
This evening, after class, I simply had to bring up Adam and the new cd. I brought my ipod, loaded with Adam songs and asked him to listen to some of them, claiming I wanted a younger opinion. There were 2 young women who were still in the room at the time. He listened to about 10 seconds and immediately said “that sounds like Adam Lambert!” I said “it is! I’m obsessed with him!!!” I played him parts of Cuckoo and Shady, both of which he and the other 2 girls loved. He had a few Adam songs from FYE on his ipod, but hadn’t known about the new cd. The girls didn’t know about him at all, except one of them said “wasn’t he on Idol years ago. I immediately pulled a cd out of my bag and gave it to Nick. He seemed genuinely happy, and said he would put some of the songs into our zumba routine!! A win-win!! I hope Nick plays Adam for his other zumba classes as well, and makes loads of new fans in the process!

I just got up and watched Adam sing on Idol. I was wondering what he would wear. At first when I saw the yellow it was sort of WTF? then I saw it glow and it was OH YEAH! And the color coordination with the others, just great. Now I am waiting to see Beiber, Gaga, and the others go neon like after he was the first one to use lasers on Idol. Did Ryan go up and talk to him like in the past? or not, like with Kris? and BOOOOOOOO to those judges for politely sitting there and clapping. They should have been on their feet! At least Ryan’s intro was nice.

And the performance was nothing less than I would expect from him, although, to be honest, I was a little distracted by Tommy and Brian’s glowing eyebrow’s and looking for what else was glowing. I love the freedom that the back-up singers give him to play around with the melody. I need to watch a few (hundred) more times.

I just went to i-tunes and the album is back to #2 with just the Idol album above it, so it did get a boost last night. YAY.

Now to have my breakfast and catch up on the posts I missed while I was asleep.

  28. HK fan says:

Just watched the video. I’m so glad I could see it here first, now I can watch tonight on tv without being quite so nervous. A great performance, sounded great, the whole band looked good. Loved the yellow on Adam.
Thought it was very rude for the judges not to have stood up, for all the guests. not just Adam, at least show some respect for your peers in the industry.
And Ryan should have at least had a few words with him like he did with Kris Allen and JD….its not like they didn’t have time, there weren’t exactly a lot of results in an hours show.
And very glad Joshua went, didn’t like him.
My boys school sports kits are black and gold, and three of the kids play in the same rugby club, who’s colours are black and gold, so I’m quite used to the bumble bee effect!!!

Another blurb…love the “Lambert fever spreads across America” part.. Grin Want to send that to a friend (or former friend now) who told me a few days ago that Adam Lambert is dead to America and that I’m the only one that she hears about him from and if it weren’t for me, she would have heard nothing about him. Really Pissed
I got up from the dinner table and walked away without a further word to anyone and took the graceful way out instead of raging like a lunatic. She’s in my bad books right now and likely to stay that way for a while. Clap

  37. cher says:

cher you crack me up, “AFL making and dissolving friendships”

glambotgram,I’ve always told everyone to leave me and my Adam fandom alone or stay away from me. I have many friends who accept that and I don’t need any that don’t. Oh I forgot to tell you that same ex- close friend ( a very nice person though but clueless) also added insult on top of injury by asking me when I was going to “get over” my Adam obsession. Bad, bad move. That was the final straw! Up and off I went. Later on, one of my other friends (my roommate P) that was at the table said that after I jumped up and left in a huff, there was silence at the table for a while and then the same ex-close friend said ” Aren’t I entitled to an opinion?” That was met with pure silence from the other 3. For the rest of the cruise, my roommate P who’s coming to London with me, didn’t say Adam’s name aloud. She would say to me, “The person that shall not be named”. I would be like…”Whaattt?” and then she reminded me it was Adam. She’s a goof. Grin

Good morning! Just woke up and watched the NCOE video – OMG he looked and sounded perfect! I loved the neon yellow accents and overall staging. His vocals were excellent as always of course.

Looks like the album did get a sales response as its back up to #2 on Amazon (behind Donna Summer) and #2 on itunes overall (behind AI Top 3). NCOE is #49 on iTunes pop singles so response there too. Trespassing is still higher on singles chart though which is interesting.

I’m going to try and put together a nice little surprise for sometime later today here on the site!

  45. rs says:

From Michael Slezack’s recap of last night’s show. Needless to say, he was very upset with the rest of the show:

Ah well, at least we got Adam Lambert — his hair like the plumage of some awesome tropical bird, his nails painted a hue not even J.Lo would dare to rock — belting out his latest single, “Never Close Our Eyes.” Because let’s be honest, the Idoloonie Nation needed something positive to cling to after Ryan Seacrest delivered results that — once they were unleashed into the universe — felt more repugnant than making a salad from month-old sludge in the back of your refrigerator’s vegetable drawer.

    http://tvline.com/2012/05/17/american-idol-recap-season-11-top-3-results-show/

  46. Kradamour says:

Adam looked so tired in that Lyndsay S interview, but he is always game for an interview and always gives it his best. There were a couple of times where he gave an answer and she was ready to go on, but he held onto the question for some clarification. Love that about him.
(But WTF was her comment about neon GREEN?)

TBH, I am just as glad that Ryan didn’t interview or talk to Adam on the show. He did last time, and it made Adam seem more like just another contestant. When a guest star performs, it seems more distinct if there isn’t any chatter like there is for the contestants. Just a thought.

I have still only listened to the album once, but unlike most other albums where one song will run through my head for days, I find that different ones kick in randomly. This morning I woke up to Trespassing in my head (and it isn’t my favorite track by a long shot, hoping it isn’t the next single). Driving home yesterday it was Kickin’ In, which I find really hypnotic. Making supper it was Broken English, probably because I had a guest speaker in class yesterday, a French woman who is married to an American. Underneath was the soundtrack in the bath.
I like each song more when I hear it in the context of the album lineup – it really is a case of the album being more than the sum of its parts. I rarely listen to music, though, and it isn’t likely that I will have the time to listen to the album through again anytime soon.
    Frown
I’m thinking I might need to get a CD player for my car, especially after reading all the posts about leisure listening time spent in the garages of America!

Yellow is a very hard color to wear, though. Very unflattering on most people.

  50. HK fan says:

Have just finished watching Adams Glamnation on Star World. I thought they were going to show the whole thing bug it was slightly abridged….they missed out Ring of Fire, and Music again, the music interlude and dancing bit. But they showed the little bit before the concert where the crowd comes in, and a few bits at the end. It was great seeing him on my tv. My 10yo stayed up and watched it with me, I’ve never shown her the DVD although she’s listened to the cd many times, she seemed to enjoy it.
Kradamour what do you listen to in the car if you have no cd????? I have a cd player in my car, plus I can plug in my ipod which is what I usually do…………but not at the moment. I keep wanting to go drive somewhere so I can listen to Trespassing. I couldn’t not have music in the car.
