After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

I can certainly relate about being looked at as just a bit “strange”. Ha, I’ve already told a number of peeps (family and close friends) not to call me between 8 and 9 this evening. By now, they totally understand.

On another note, I just turned on the TV and the episode of Chelsea Lately with Adam was on. Amazing, two Adam sightings here in one day, in the record store and on Television! Anyway, I watched the interview again, of course, and as I wrote before, he did great. He went with the flow of her comments, didn’t get intimidated, laughed off the crude or stupid bits, and got his agenda across. And yes riskylady, the best part was his laugh. I am not crazy about her comedic style and I think she is a lousy interviewer, but if we forget about her and just look at it as another platform for more people to see Adam and get a good impression of him, it was a very successful oportunity to get seen and appreciated by another group of people.
And with that, Good Night. Enjoy Adam on Idol tonight. I will try and see it in the morning.

RL has been tough lately. Can’t get reception in my office and I know they planned it that way. They don’t want the cell phones causing RF interference with all the headsets, damn! Anyway, I was holding off listening to snippets (only the first four and only once)waiting for that wash of Adam goodness from hearing the CD up loud on a good system. WOW was it worth the wait. I think Runnin is the best song on the album and there are a lot to choose from for that ranking. Shady, Underneath, Takeback, hell, I love em all! But Runnin OMG, his voice is like silk, the lows are sensual and the highs are thrilling and…ummmm…excuse me…I…ahhh…need to refresh myself. Okay, I’m fine now, whew, Love that man!!!!

RS Great story!!! I’m so happy to hear that Adam cds are being sold there and it was brilliant to suggest that the clerk play the disc in the store. Who knows how many people approached her and asked what that amazing cd was?? There was probably a run on Adam cds in Israel and you are the cause!!!
So was there an answer to whether cds ordered from AdamOfficial count towards the sales figures? I ordered mine from AO and I need to know where I should the next few, which I need as gifts.
Also, does it matter when we buy them? In other words, if I need some gifts in June, is it better for Adam if I buy them now or should I wait till next week, when sales might fall off?

On the left page something is written in gray in offset to the yellow…what does it say and even more important…what does it mean????

AL, People is not a Metacritic publication. Chicago Tribune is, but that review was very confusing to me as the byline was not the Tribune (wrap.com?) and the rather negative write up was completely at odds with the 4.5/5 star rating. So I wouldn’t count on that one yet.
Cqesq, my understanding is that the AO sales are counted at the end, but HDD doesn’t have access to them for their estimates. I read that HDD is usually good at guessing how many fanclub sales there will be though. Hopefully they underestimated Glamberts!

Just went to itunes store. Trespassing is number 4. John Mayer’s album jumped in there to number 3. It’s getting great reviews. And he can’t even sing live yet because of his throat nodule problems. Have never cared for his style of music. And damn those glee kids!

Wondered what Gil’s reaction was going to be when I just told him that Adam was on Idol tonight. As I’ve said before, he always enjoys listening/seeing Adam but there’s still a I-can-take-him-or-leave-him undertone.
“Adam’s singing what’s going to be his second single on Idol tonight”.
Gil takes his nose out of his book and raises both his head and his eyebrows, “OHHH. What time?!”
I know he wouldn’t care about watching the whole show so I said, “I’ll cue you. It’ll be, I think, around 8:45pm”.
So glad I don’t have an uphill battle about Adam with him. At least he’s open and from his reaction tonight he’s looking forward to seeing him.
I, here I go again assuming, I assume Adam is going to follow Lisa Marie Presley. She’ll perform first and Adam will be last. At least, that’s what I assume

Got my CD from Amazon today. Been playing it ever since. Hate to shut it off to go to my Dad’s to watch Idol tonight.
Couldn’t help but think of Adam last night when Jessica went to San Diego. I remember the visits from Season 8. Both Kris and Danny had big crowds and parades, etc. In comparison, Adam didn’t have a very big turn out. I wondered about it at the time since he seemed so popular.
I know his radio or tv appearance was very early in the morning, and from what I understand, there was no publicity ahead of time. That was such a small group there to greet him.
They went to the performing arts school where he got to talk to the students. Not a big fan gathering there either. Off to the military base where he sang the Star Spangled Banner so beautifully a capella to a captive audience. But not particularly a fan gathering.
They went to his high school, where the bleachers were full of students glad to get out of school for the day. Many of them didn’t have a clue what was going on. From what I understand, there may not have been a lot of advance publicity for this either, but fans of the show probably figured out that he would be there, or made it their business to know!
It was a puzzle to me. Why not a parade, etc?
It’s funny (odd) that there is such support for him in some areas, and in others he is still an outsider. Personally, I can’t wait until he takes away the lion’s share of the grammy awards next time around. He’s come a long way since idol–he looks so grown up and mature, more of a superstar and much less like a theater kid wannabe pop/rock star.
Just checked iTunes again for a pre-performance baseline, it’s 3 overall again and 2 on pop. 6 on amazon.
I’m at dinner with my parents on the way from Atlanta to NC so won’t see the show. Hope Adam kills it! Luval, I still get nervous when Adam performs too.
Ellessay…I don’t think the Idol people knew what they were doing even only 3 years ago. To me everything has changed 180 degrees. From the staging to the home visits to just about everything. Things seem so staged instead of spontaneous now.
Ellesay, I think part or maybe even most of the reason for the differences in the hometown visits was So Cal culture. In So Cal an AI hometown visit just doesn’t command the media and public attention as it did in Arkansas or Wisconsin, as there is so much else going on any given day. I think of this as partially the same reason that people can’t be bothered to show up to a Dodgers game til the 3rd inning then leave in the 7th. Traffic, work, other things to do etc. I remember thinking at the time “poor Adam he gets stuck with a So Cal hometown visit”.

Just read through today’s comments while awaiting Adam on Idol and saw all the speculation about that weird review in the Chicago Tribune. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s not actually their review. I thought I’d read it somewhere before and that the Trib had just reprinted it. I haven’t looked it back up, but I thought it had a “Reuters” tag on it. Anyway, I do think I saw that the Tribune is included in Metacritic, but if they copied someone else’s article, it could be that they’re not doing a review of their own?
