After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

I’m loving seeing now a sort of theme going with these reviews: Most LOVE the flow of the album, and they agree with the placement of both NCOE and BTIKM in the album. Also, most like either OOL or Nirvana as closers. And most are saying the album has cohesiveness, and that it is chock full of great listening!!! Most only aren’t crazy about one or two songs. This is sooooo great. And lines up with what many of us have said, too.
Even the int’l reviews sort of follow this theme.

My Amazon Trespassing shipped – still supposed to arrive Tuesday!
Getting really nervous about the sales numbers. Q3 on adamtopia says she would be drinking champaigne if it sells 75K in the opening week. Even that would be only 38% of FYE opening week sales, and would fall just below Jordin Sparks (40%).
I still want to see 100K+, but I think that’s very unlikely. If the number is something like 40K, it would probably be a good idea to go to as many of these spring and summer concerts already scheduled as possible.
Good morning eywflyer. I am nervous too. But then again I always look for the worst and hope it goes up from there. Q3 is pretty much on the ball about her numbers. Maybe GMA will generate those sales we are hoping for. And still haven’t heard NCOE on the radio although I understand ads don’t officially go out until the end of the month.

In the last couple of hours my order at Amazon changed from “not yet shipped” to “shipping soon”. I guess that is progress. The estimated arrival dates are still the same.
Still haven’t gotten my AO copy and it has been 9 days!
I am debating whether to get a digital copy from i-tunes tomorrow. Will the quality be much better than the streams we have already and as good as the CDs?

mils, mils!! Barbra wants to do an album with young singers today and the commentators mentioned Adam singing with her. He said sure and when asked what he would sing he said, “Maybe The Way We Were” it has a nice melody”. You KNOW Barbra will see this … and see Adam and think, “Hmmm, he’s not bad”.
Why would it be good to see as many of these spring and summer concerts as possible if opening week numbers are 40K, eywflyer? To increase his numbers in some way? Or there might not be a tour? Thanks.

Wow, they’re really promoting and building Adam up for this performance! So good to see them treating him this way!!
Very glad he already sang in front of the audience whether it was just a bit for the cameras or the whole song. That will get rid of a lot of the nerves he must be feeling.

I think it was a very, very good performance. Nit pick, I just wish his voice was more prominently featured and more front and center. I think his voice was much more distinct on Kimmel.
He sold it though! He sold that song and I should think a casual viewer would be very impressed and that’s what matters. Attracting more fans. In that regard, mission accomplished!

Ron, I also thought the sound mix was a bit strong on the band relative to Adams voice. Nit picking though – casual viewers wouldn’t notice. Only veterans of 100s of Adam performances like ourselves lol. I thought he did very well.
