So happy for you. What a day you had!! How I miss hearing bag pipes. Out here where I live no one really celebrates St Paddy’s day like Milwaukee and Chicago. You made me homesick.
I bought a 32oz jar of organic super veggie blend. In it is tomato, carrot, celery, broccoli, kale, collards, beet, parsley, spinach, lettuce, watercress,lemon juice, jalapeno, garlic, cayenne pepper, salt. It cost $4.89. I don’t know if that’s a good price compared to buying the veggies & juicer. I know it’s just easier.
It is delicious!
Totally loved this from Sauli’s blog. Quite a few have noticed Adam’s body language and have expressed concerns about possessiveness, etc…but clearly Sauli is his own person. Adam and Sauli seem to be a partnership of equals in all the ways that matter.

Oh Kradamour….I loved that quote from Sauli. I just love his blog! I send it to my brother out West who is gay and is following everything that I do in regards to Adam & Sauli. I really hope Adam will play in Salt Lake City next tour. It has one of the largest gay populations out there.

That Coke Lounge interview is so amazing! Adam is happy and loose and open…love that he discussed his aborted college career there, I have wanted him to address it more than he had in the past.
Loved the humor, loved the interaction with Tommy, loved how much fun he was having!
But hated the final note, when the interviewer had to add “and we’ve had other idols here” after saying he was the best the room ever had. WTF? All of a sudden the idol thing came back and nipped at his heels. (eye roll)

I agree, Kradamour. Excruciating.
He really enjoyed today. He said that although Adam doesn’t make his preferred “style” of music (which is basically alternative and preferably independent artists), he definitely “could sing” and “had amazing pipes.” As a musician himself, he was put off by the fact that Adam didn’t read music, but, otherwise, he really enjoyed the experience and thought he was a really nice, funny guy. He said that his least favorite of the three songs was “Trespassing,” but when I said that in real life it will be much more electronic, he said that he could “…see that, it just didn’t seem finished” in its acoustic form. The only part of the day he didn’t enjoy were what I’m guessing were the “professional Glamberts.” I felt like a complete b****, but we were actually in hiding from a couple of ladies who kept asking about details of show-up time and place, who offered to buy our tickets off of us with cash (which I don’t think would have been allowed since the winner had to present ID), and one of whom who, until my son sped up our pace in an effort to lose her, actually followed us even after we were markedly aloof in our answers to her probing questions. I mean, I get it that we ALL want to see Adam. Until today, I thought I was as big a fan as you can get. But I now know there are limits to my fandom. As much as I want to see him, I would never repeatedly approach and actually follow people who had tickets to something I didn’t. It was creepy enough to me, someone who knows how fervent the fanbase can be, but it was nearly enough to turn my son away from even admitting that he had enjoyed Adam. Really, these “super fans” think they’re an asset, but, after today when both my son and I were both more than a little freaked out by them, I’m not so sure they help. I heard a couple of them talking about how many of these shows they’ve attended (one even made a quip to the interviewer that made my son shudder. When the radio gal said this was a “once in a lifetime” event, she yelled out that it was, for her, a “twelvth” time (or some such number, I might be off a digit or two) event. As a fan, I was embarrassed. I would think that having more people attend more of these events would be better for Adam’s career than having a few appear over and over and over to multiple showings. Sorry, but as much as I loved Adam today, the overtly aggressive behavior of some of his “fans” sort of freaked me out and actually made me sad for him that these peeps who appear repeatedly at events take the places of potential other “weaker” fans who might go on to be great supporters.
Seems like Adam has a new product that he can sell while we wait for the album!

Teri, I loved this post, and you very articulately made exactly the points I have often thought.
One of the things that I really loved about my promo in DC the other day was that there was an absence of these over-invested “fans”, whom I have seen on the tour.
Ultimately, it isn’t about Adam, I have decided…it is only about them, in some bizarre and twisted way. They see something in Adam that is lacking in themselves, and something deep and small in them latches onto it, not understanding that it isn’t something that can be grabbed and hoarded. They aren’t fans, they are stalkers.
I couldn’t watch the rest of the tinychat…Adam was initally so delighted when the first video came up with a fan, he looked like a kid who just got a cool new toy! but that look quickly evaporated…ugh. So this is what he has to deal with when he meets fans? (ahakes head)

OMG!!!!!!! I GOT MY ADAM HUG AND HE TOLD ME HE WAS BEAUTIFUL! HE JUST MADE MY LIFE!
ok so now recap. My mom and I got up to the radio station at about 10:00 and there were about 10 glamberts waiting to get up but none of them won the passes
I was the first one there that won the passes. We were waiting and talking with each other when all of a sudden another Glambert comes to us and says, he’s upstairs. ALL of us made a mad dash for the escalator and there was Adam and Tommy, looking gorgeous as usual! He walks in, but the security to the place kept us back. He said hi to us all and said that he would be back after the event. So we go back down and wait for time to go up there. We still had 1 hr to wait to even get in! As time went by more glamberts came but none of the winners. By the time it was time to go up to the event, there were only 13 of the 30 some winners there. So all the glamberts that had come to the radio station that didn’t get passes got the extra passes that ppl didn’t claim. That was pretty cool! So they give us our passes and take us up to the lounge where they give us a bottle of Coke and some pop corn.
The DJ comes out and talks about how the glamberts are amazing fans, and she doesn’t even know how to introduce Adam Lambert to people who know him “better than he knows himself” So she brings him and Tommy out and we all go crazy! He plays WWFM first and we’re all just in awe of him! Then it’s time for some Q and A that we were asked to do before we went in. AND THE FIRST QUESTION HE ANSWERED WAS MINE!!!!! I asked him about what song he was looking forward to singing the most with Queen and he said Another One Bites the Dust. Then during the next answer, Adam just stops mid answer and looks back into the little back lounge area and yells at his manager “Hey, keep it down” OMG I loved that! Then he answered a few more questions, and then performed BTIKM! OMG just so amazing in person! There is nothing like that man’s voice! Then another Q and A with the audience. My favorite part was when one lady said that the South American glamberts hope he goes down there, and he said “well buy the damn album and i’ll see where i can go” (jokingly) and we all said “put it out and we’ll buy it” and he just laughed! Then one glambert asked if we could hear another line to a song off of Trespassing, so he was like “You guys wanna hear another song?!” And we got to hear TRESPASSING LIVE!!! OMG how i stayed so composed is beyond me. It’s an amazing song! Then they all filed us out for the meet and greet. It was by twos and we didn’t get that much time. But when my mom and I went in he gave us both a hug! I told him that I was going to go see him with Queen in London and he said that he was looking forward to it and couldn’t wait! Then we took our picture! and before we left my mom told him how grateful she was to him because he has helped me a lot, and said that I have been bullied all my life! So he gets like INCHES away from me and says “F*ck them, just let whatever they say slide off your back, you’re beautiful, you don’t need all that shit they say” I was in heaven!!!!! Then they ushered us back down to where we first started off. So then we went outside to wait for him to see if we could get pictures taken. When he came out, he was running late for the next promo, and waved to us and blew kisses to us and Tommy said hi to us all! And he invited us all to the other radio promo he had. Sadly I had to get back home so I couldn’t make it to the other station but I HAD THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!

How said that you and your son had to deal with those SPGs. I guess now I can understand the need for bodyguards. There are a lot of people out there who just don’t understand boundaries. What I wonder is where do they find the time and the money to be at all these places?? I hope Adam keeps calling them out in the way he does. It may not make a difference for these women but in a round about way it sends a good message to the “sane” fans.
Geez, Teri63…I almost dread the tour to come. Well not really, but I can see what we will all have to put up with.. Might have to go to Bosnia or South American to get away from this! I really don’t get it sometimes.
glamberthaf28…What a great recap! I always wondered what happens when people don’t show up when they win these contests. Bet it goes on all the time for any radio event. Guess peeps don’t think to just go down & and see. Your mother sounds wonderful. She probably had more talk time with Adam than anyone!! So happy for you. And now London to look forward to!
Teri, loved your post, but I’m so sorry that you experienced the SPG’s. As the person who, ahem, coined the term, I completely understand what you experienced. I also wonder if some of them were the very same ones that caused me to make the label in the first place. After all, it was after seeing Adam in Rockford and Peoria.
But, you did get to meet him, and hear that voice up close.

Thank you all so much! My life has changed so much! And all for the better, because of Adam and all of you wonderful glamberts! This is just the best day of my life!!! I still have the VIP pass that we got hanging around my neck! Hopefully will be able to meet him again and have a little more time with him cuz it was so quick, but I’M SO THANKFUL that I got to meet him today! And i don’t think this was in the recap but while Adam was answering one of the questions, I happen to look over to Tommy. He looked at me, looked up at my hair, looked back at me, nodded, ran his hands thru his hair and smiled at me! YEP COMPLETE GOO OVER HERE IN ILLINOIS!!!! <3

@KradamourI feel the same as you, and was not going to post it here, but at the time Adam was losing to Kris by alot and I just didn’t like seeing that.
I will be glad when people finally let season 8 go and let Kris and Adam do their thing without someone always pitting them against each other..
I hope I didn’t come off negatively about my son’s and my experience today. Adam was amazing, and we both thought his vocals were, if possible, better than top-notch. Unfortunately, the uber-fans really did put a damper on the day for my son and, therefore, for me. Had I been alone, I probably wouldn’t have felt so affronted. But, seeing that my son had entered the contest and went along for the ride first and foremost for me, I was quite literally ashamed of the behavior of some whose behavior sadly influenced my son’s impression of the day. Instead of reporting the day to his dad the way he’d summarized to me — that Adam “definitely had pipes” — he instead rushed through our front door laughing incredulously about all the crazies who followed us hoping we’d help lead them to a way in. I loved today, I really did, but it was also eye opening. I’m so happy for all of Adam’s successes, but they sure don’t come without a shit-ton of work for him that it seems many other artists never have to endure.

Teri, I totally agree with you. That was what I was trying to express 2 summers ago. Those stalkers put a damper on things for me, in a very visceral way. I felt ashamed for them, and in a very odd way, felt strange to be associated with them in any way. I too heard them talk about how many many times they had met him, seen the show , etc.
Now, yes, I’ve met him twice, seen him 6 times, however, I hope and pray that I never have acted like that and never will.
I just remember one of the Europe shows where, I don’t remember who, reported that they faked they were handicapped to get preferential seating. Stories like that are becoming known in the fandom, outside of us posters and bloggers. It is so unbecoming of them and unfortunate for Adam.
But, Teri, you had a great day, and I’m so happy for you. And for Glamberthaf, wow.

I didn’t read your story with any negative feelings. You gave all of us a very real picture of a normal day for Adam. It’s a good thing he has the type of character to let a lot of things just roll off him. I find that very amazing especially with all the things he has to deal with.
I would hope that your son would recognize that those women are only a small fraction of all the people that love Adam. After all look what he said to Glambertha I think people like her and all of us here are a bigger portion of his fan base. Remember what he said just a couple of days ago about the number of calls (1,500) that were made after the AMA’s out of the millions who watched. It’s always that small, LOUD, group that ruins it, if we let them.
When I gather up items to post here I often don’t get the chance to watch or read until this time at night. By this time my computer is dragging because of all the open windows!! I watched the Q&A, WWFM at 96.5 TIC. If anything shows how relaxed and comfortable he is now it’s this little clip.
