After a very busy and promo-filled month of February (during which Adam also took time out to attend the Elton John pre-Oscar party pictured above), March figures to be busy as well for Adam and his fans, as he should continue promo efforts for the lead single “Better Than I know Myself” and his upcoming album “Trespassing”. Adam may take some time to put last minute touches on some of the late addition album tracks as well. The album release date, which was previously set for March 20th, has been pushed back to an undetermined time later this spring. I’m guessing sometime in April or early May, but we will see.

Update – on March 23rd, Adam confirmed that the release date for Trespassing will be May 15th!

    Ahem. Recap time!
    Rolling up sleeves…getting down to business…part 1 of the adventures of the Fab Four in Wonderland!
    (LOVE that moniker! And we were indeed fabulous!)

    So…trying for tickets to the DC events…I posted that adamized and I would go together…oh, no, how did I forget that dcglam is also a local??? (kicks self, apologizes profusely, damn I feel stupid…) Much angst. If adamized or I do score tickets, do we post that? Or do we slink off together and not advertise the fact that we are going?
    But HOORAY dcglam scores! And adamized scores! And they choose their dates…ultimathule and me! (And the winning of the tickets is a story unto itself, but that is their story, not mine. Sneak preview: it has to do in part with the fact that adamized has the most.adorable.voice.ever)

    I am coming from SE Virginia, about a 4 hour drive. (hush, cher, this is nothing!) We want to meet up in DC, but where are we located in relation to each other? We “win” again when I realize that ultimathule (aka darlin’) lives right on the way to adamized’s house! So we can meet there! And then it gets even better when darlin’ offers to drive us into DC in her seriously big and comfortable vehicle! And dcglam lives on the other side of DC and will meet us at the venue. Life is good.

    So…I arrive at darlin’s house. A little apprehensive…we have never met, and I am by nature shy. I knock on the door…oh, thank goodness, she is delightful! Soon, adamized arrives (and I know for a fact already that she is delightful) and we call dcglam and tell her that we are on our way…road trip! And off we go. Oh, wait…should we take a scarf/jacket/sweater/whatever? It is warm…what about the venue? After the typical fluttering about, we just toss stuff in the car and move on out to DC! About a half hour trip, darlin’ says.

    Downtown DC…it is 3 p.m. and there is the Hamilton, looming…and there is a parking garage RIGHT THERE with vacancies and valet parking (a must for darlin’). Parked, out, now to find dcglam…no worries, there she is! And so into the Hamilton.

    Ooooh…dark wood, high ceilings, snowy napery, gleaming silver, tables set like French tables…could.not.be.happier. Do we just want drinks and snacks? Three votes for drinks and one adamant insistence upon food (that would be me. I am not going to be home until midnight.) The cranky glambert who has to eat is humored, and we first get lost going to the restroom, then get lost coming back, and finally are seated in the best possible booth (in my opinion), back in a cozy corner where we can flail and not embarrass ourselves.

    The host is adorable and young and his shirt is just a bit too large. He is amused by us but in just the right way. He knows his menu, and his wine list. Better and better. But no Vouvray. No Sancerre. The reisling seems less dry than I like (picky, much?). I settle for Prosecco, always a good fall-back selection. Others choose pino grigio and chardonnay. And WTF? The wine comes in little carafes. I am immediately suspicious. What is in those carafes? No labels, it could be Thunderbird for all anyone knows! (And never mind how I know Thunderbird.) Hmmm…but it is fine, and I relax and am optimistic about the meal. We clink glasses and toast our good fortune and new friendships. And Adam, of course, the focus of the feast!

    The menu. How I longed to pore over this with cher!!! OMG. Too many choices, each one more interesting and delicious than the next. Small plates, big plates…charcuterie…how often is THAT word seen on a menu? I have died and gone to heaven. Adam? Oh, right. Not before this, though! I settle on a pasta dish with house made duck bacon, butternut squash, pecorino romano, and a fried duck egg on top, sunny side up, to break into the pasta to make a sauce. Be still my heart…duck bacon! It was divine…my only regret was that the amazing salads did not pair well with this, and I settled for a house salad…but what a house salad! Fresh fennel root with the FRESHEST baby greens and frisee, and crispy slivered croutons, and the best house balsamic vinaigrette I have ever tasted…I just realized…how did I manage to forget to ask for bread??? No matter.

    Other dishes…adamized’s sublime fish tacos, darlin’s amazing potato pancake with roasted mushrooms and swiss chard, and dcglams HUGE fresh salad with a glorious piece of salmon on top and a lemon vinaigrette.

    Full to bursting. Dessert? Yes, of course. (looking around) Oh, well, I guess it will be only me. Does NO ONE want to split a chocolate molten cake with me? No? sigh. Okay, just a scoop of chocolate ice cream and an espresso. OOOOOOH, the scoop of ice cream is so amazingly rich, and has an adorable glazed animal cracker on top! I give the animal cracker to adamized, who has admired it, because the espresso comes with a tiny biscotti, in the European style of a little treat with one’s espresso. Life is good. Could.not.be.better. We are perfect together. Conversation flows, it is interesting and varied and much more than Adam, although I do believe his name was mentioned a few times lol…

    It is almost 5 pm now…time to get outside and line up. Hmmm…a few peeps in line already, and we are thinking that one should never miss an oppy to pump bilges, as my naval officer husband says. So two of us get in line, two go to the ladies’ room, and then we switch.

    Now we are lined up in earnest, and the real focus of the evening is getting closer!

    I can certainly understand people (esp. us teachers) wanting to keep their internet anonymity. As a teacher, you essentially need to be “appropriate” 24/7. That’s why we close the door to the lunch room, not because we say terrible things, but because every now and then some inappropriate comment is made. I don’t think we do or say anything terrible here, but I still appreciate some privacy. – (I pretty much outed myself already to my students by wearing the infinity pendent. Oh well. If Adam has the guts to BE Adam Lambert, I can at least have the guts to LIKE Adam Lambert.)

    So frustrated. All of sudden either my computer or twitter is having a melt down!!! What I could do this morning I cannot do tonight. So I had to change the order of the posts. I have to lead with the link before I can post the text. Hope this doesn’t goof any of you up. My computer son-in-law helped me get that far. Said he can’t come up with an answer without seeing my machine. Can’t make that happen for a couple of days.

    I so agree with you. I try to be as careful as I can to let in only those that I know.

    Beside my computer giving me fits, I haven’t received my juicer. Thought it would be on my door step by today. So I went to our local organic food store and got juice to carry me though 2 days. So I will be able to join in on Thursday. Are we ready for this?????

    kradamour, the video is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I thought Adam was adorable in that interview. For the most part, I’ve really been pleased with the way the dj’s have handled the interview part – good questions, no AMA/Finn-gate mentions, etc. Adam is such a pleasure to listen to, whether he’s singing or speaking (and he’s so darn cute!).

    I’m loving this Adam. During the tour he was very relaxed when we did the m&g. Now he’s so much more relaxed and confident. I think the tour time was a learning curve and now he’s figured it out and he’s ready to fly!!
