Ron, if I had been in Key West this past weekend I would have made the rounds of the bars (all four of them lol) to do a quick check, but alas I’m on vacation.
Maybe Adam’s in Florida and in the recording studio with Miami resident … Gloria Estefan?

IKR! I’d be prowling around looking for Adam if he was in Toronto. Actually, I wouldn’t have to do that as TLKC would have that covered!
I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this but when Adam was touring in “Wicked” (pre-Idol, of course) and the show was playing here for a month or so, the theater is on the same street that I live and is less than a 10 minute walk from my home. I saw neither Adam or … the show! I wish I knew then what I know now!
Love, LOVE my memories of my vacation in Key West back in the (gulp) mid-70’s(!) I think I was about 3 years old then but I still remember it.
Ron, South Beach has a ton of clubs. Almost impossible to do rounds.
Eywflyer, it would be a shame if he were in Key West and you’re out of town. Key West would be easier to find people you’re looking for, especially bb.

Ron, by the time you made your second and third rounds of the bars, you might not be able to recognize Adam if you did find him! But you’d probably have fun looking!

After the 10th or 11th round, I’m sure I’d still be able to recognize Adam! I don’t think I’d be able to talk coherently though. 
But, I’ll take being able to shake Adam’s hand over having a meaningful conversation.

Ron, I’ve heard some crazy stories from longtime locals about the scene in Key West in the ’70s and ’80s. It’s still a party town today, but nothing compared to the insanity that apparently went on then.
Multiple rounds of the bars are very easy in Key West since all of them are within a couple of blocks of each other. Of course I wouldn’t know anything about doing multiple rounds

At the time I vacationed there, I was living in New York City. My parents lived in Sarasota. I visited them and then took an “Air Sunshine” (long defunct!) DC-3 plane to Key West. I’ve never before, or since, flown in a plane where you had to bend over to walk down the slanted aisle and only seated 32 and had propellers! It was also THE most beautiful flight I’ve taken as, talk about “air sunshine”, it was a cloudless, blue, blue sky and we were flying over the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
We stayed at a motel on Duval but wish I could remember what it was called. All of the single story rooms looked out onto the pool. All rooms were occupied by men. All men in the occupied rooms were gay.
We ALL got along SO well and it was party time every night around the pool. Went to some wonderful restaurants too but, again, I don’t remember the names. Took the “Conch Tour” on a tram and saw Hemingway’s house. Don’t think we went to a Bar. We didn’t need to though as we partied around that pool every night. One of my best vacations!
Good stories tonight, Ron, thank you! Loved the Wicked story, so close and yet so far…! and it sounds as though it would have been great fun to be a fly on the wall of that pool area, from your wicked-with-a-small-w story!

And if you made the rounds of those Clubs with Cher, you’d best be prepared to partake of the ‘culinary’ treats, as well.

Calgary: thanks for posting your Galeries-Lafayette Fever. They are not afraid of a little pronoun over in France! The best I can offer is If I had You at IKEA. There I stood between the Lox and the Swedish Meatballs smiling happily. But we already know that the Scandinavians take to Adam.

I’m not really a big fan of food although I do eat it from time to time. 
I eat 1 meal a day around 3pm. Could be a sandwich or a steak … doesn’t really matter to me.
I think one can request a menu item to be added at the SpaWatel in Quebec.
What if I call and ask Lisa to include on the menu:
French Canadian Burger avec Poutine!
MMmmm! What makes a French Canadian burger a French Canadian burger is French Canadian Back Bacon. I’ll ask if they’ll make cheese optional and that’s what we’ll all order, right?
You can follow that route by walking along the lines on my face.
Ron, I think it is an inspired idea to request that the SpaWatel provide us with a classic poutine! (none of that lobster stuff, please).
I’ll pass on the F-C burger. I don’t really understand the point of serving parts of two different animals on one bun. But that’s just me!

Ron, that’s a great story from your Key West vacation! No fun motels like that on Duval St anymore, although there are some very nice gay guesthouses in other parts of Old Town.

I don’t think so.
And bacon and cheese omelette…no, not so much either.
There is just something about that cheese and bacon combination that seems odd and greasy not very tasty…I see them on menus all the time so I know I must be in the minority here, though.

I like Cheeks, he is funny and very, very cute – but the contrasts with Sauli are striking. Both have gorgeously square jawlines, are very intelligent, attractive, well mannered… but Cheeks is snarky and quick, and seems to be pretty sure of his adorableness. He loves to pose and be “on” and
likesseems to crave attention.Sauli is so real and laid-back, seems by all accounts to be fun and easy to be with and comfortable in his own skin but without a need to perform or pose. Even though a minor celebrity, he doesn’t seem to need that, it is just one of the things he came across in his life journey.
No real point to these musings, just interesting to compare after watching the Cheeks vid.

Kradamour as someone who has met and hung out with Cheeks/Brad you have a skewed vision of him. BTW I met him not because of Adam but thru Cassidy Haley whom I was working with on his websight and future endeavors. Cheeks is a persona but unlike Lady GaGa he is very much Brad when off camera. He is very laid-back, warm, sweet, charasmatic, genuine and definitely DOES NOT seek attention. He is a performer and Cheeks is only part if that. He has begun to get acting gigs and will be in an episode of Torchwood in August.
Lately even his Cheeks persona is very different and much less snarky.
I’ve never met Sauli but he appeared on not just one but two reality TV shows in Finland. That is very attention seeking to me but YMMV. I have no idea what he is like in real life but my friends have met him.
I believe the second show Sauli was on came about because of his popularity on the first show, he and Nikko. This is just what I’ve read.
It always really bothers me to see people as talented as Cheeks/Brad, Alison Porter, and bb before he was discovered, working away in ‘relative’ inobsecurity, while others with little to no talent enjoy mega celebrity(paris hilton, kim kardasian, snooki, anyone?). I would love to see Brad hit it big. I love watching his videos, he is one of the sharpest, funniest people around.
LolaGlamb, I would add to that list of no talents ALL Kardashian sisters,other Jersey Shore characters and all ex-girlfriends of Hugh Hefner (Kendra anyone?).
But life unfortunately ain’t fair.

I’ve been away for a couple of days. Just catching up. Ugh. Yuck. Icky. I stayed away from the whole Durbin/Adam fiasco. Loved Adam’s attempt at humor and how nobody except us understood his meaning about “let’s just talk right here on twitter.” Of course he was not serious. He’s Mr. Social Media Guy. That MJ’s thread was absolutely horrific.
Looked back at the first couple of GN threads, thank you so much for having them. Saw so many old friends there, funny how so few of us had avi’s back then. And dhunken and baebae. Miss them both for different reasons. They were so funny. And smeggs was a hoot. Has she been here yet?
