wow, I step away for a minute hour or so and my name is tossed all over the place! Rolls Eyes

Ron, the dot is adorable. But the post was funny, too. You knew I was just joshing?

And…uh…I have to admit I did wonder what Adam and his dad were doing in South Dakota. Oops!

nekkid: layers. Add one each few hundred miles you go north. Then peel them away on the way home. If you calculate carefully, you will still have one layer when you get to Texas…but you’ll still be nekkid to us LOL

  2. nkd says:

RON!!! I just looked at my weather app, and it’s 54 in Ste Agathe! It’s 87 here, right now! I might need more than you to be comfortable! I’ll be shivering at 54 degrees!!!!!

Seriously, at temps in the 50’s, when we have to be outside here, we have jackets, scarves, gloves, and a blanket to wrap up! Confused

  3. nkd says:

kradamour, I think we lost the others refreshing the previous page! Wink Thankfully my post came up on the new one!

  4. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Nkd, Texans have very thin blood. Smile I get a little “chilly” when it gets down into the 70’s! Don’t forget to pack your Cuddle Duds – better leave the skimpier “unmentionables” at home for this trip to the North!

  5. nkd says:

Texas…ahhhh, someone that understands 50 degrees to a Texan! But will my feet be cold in my flip flops?

  6. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Absolutely! You better take your Uggs!!

For those who speak French, a nice little youtube about the Ste Agathe festival with a mention that Adam Lambert’s concert is intended for young people (that would include us 29 year olds):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sssE6UBwTmQ

For those of us that don’t speak French, is the beach shown at the beginning of the video the site of the performances?

  8. nkd says:

I would love to hear Adam singing at the club with his dad last night. I wonder if anyone got video or audio.

  9. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Nkd, I think we need to invite our friend Ron to Texas in JULY! Then he’ll understand why you’re talking about sweaters and scarves. Smile. You’ll definitely need a lightweight sweater for the evenings – otherwise, you’ll freeze. Just tie it around your waste when it’s too warm for it.

I hate being cold – my son and I went to see Super 8 on Friday and I took a sweater into the theatre. That darn thin blood!

    Absolutely! It’s an open invitation!

  11. Ron says:

HaHa … I’ve been refreshing the LAST page for over an hour. Not steadily, mind you. I do have other things to do at this late hour. Smile

I would LOVE to go to Texas! Please understand that I lived in Sarasota, Florida for 4 years. I know all about heat! Every Thanksgiving, I’d just hang the turkey outside and it would be ready to eat in 15 minutes! Smile You won’t need a sweater in Ste.-Agathe.

    You’ll be the sweater-er-er in Ste.-Agathe! Smile

PLEASE, Universe, let him try at least ONE little new music on us at Ste. Agathe!!!

  13. nkd says:

    Make that 2 hours, Ron!
And I knew it! I’m not the only one that does that! LOL

    The sweater-er-er? Haha!

  14. riskylady says:

It might be constructive to mention to all those visiting the DDD: There are some rather strong, QUIRKY (this is actually a major understatement), personalities there debating the voice/performances. And they go BSC over any of what they consider “fan-girling.” Just sayin’ – it’s like the Wild Wild West, there’s no civilized MJ policing them. LOL.

  15. nkd says:

I KNOW riskylady! I saw that tweet earlier.

I am with you on the pleads to the universe!
What would his reasons be for this concert in Ste Agathe? I wouldn’t think that he wants to just perform FYE again, even though I know it will probably be mostly that. But we can hope for a new song or two!

  16. Ron says:

I have no doubt that Adam will introduce a song or two from what will eventually be on his new CD. It only makes sense that he’ll want to try out his new material in front of an audience and gauge their our reaction.

  17. Ron says:

… and with that astute Smile last post, I’m off to bed. I’ll dream of you nkd being nekkid Wink and not sure how that’s going to play out so I’d better go to sleep and find out. Smile

    Good night!

  18. nkd says:

I hope so Ron! Meeting so many of you, an Adam concert, and possibly some new songs, make for an incredible weekend in Quebec!!! Smile

  19. nkd says:

My last comment seems sort of misplaced now! Wink

    Good night!

  20. adamized says:

Ok. I hate to start rumors but just saw this on twitter and thought I would share someone’s fan dreaming about Adam and David Bowie. Luval…hold onto your socks…

@yellowsister David Bowie was allegedly in Florida last Wednesday http://tinyurl.com/6gqx4pk When was Adam there? Dare we hope?

I don’t recall when Adam came back from Florida or if DB was anywhere close but fun to dream…

  21. Northern Spirit says:

nkd, that’s a pretty tiny beach in that video. I think the beach the concert is supposed to be on can be seen at the link below. Go down to the thumbnail pics and click on the middle photo, top row. The beach is across from the Watel. I had heard a while ago, though, that they may be moving the concert to a larger area. I’m not sure what’s happening now.

  22. Northern Spirit says:

Bowie + Adam = Friggin’ awesome. I thought I heard that Bowie isn’t well, though. Does anyone have information on this?

  23. luval says:

I don’t believe the tweet about Bowie being in Florida. Wasn’t it a coincidence that she had a Bowie shirt on? Hope I’m wrong but thought the whole thing was odd.

  24. riskylady says:

nkd, NS,I thought the same thing about that tiny beach in that video. The beach in front of the hotel looks much larger, and yet someone said they are moving the concert to an even larger one about a 10 minute walk away. Hope so – there might be a last minute surge! Adam seems to be very popular in Canada, I would expect a good turnout, what do you Canadians think?

  25. nkd says:

NS, riskylady…I also thought the beach looked small in the video, that’s why I was asking what they were saying. They were pointing at it!

  26. nkd says:

Good morning, luval! Always practical! LOL! Grin
(I’m saying this to the woman with a 6 ft poster of Adam in her living room!)

And posters say things to stir up the conversation. A lot of sarcasm. There
is always someone that takes the bait. A lot of popcorn ready and served.

    Hi!

Glamazon has only posted once here and that’s gotten to be about a month ago. You’ll meet her in Ste.-Agathe. She created the Toronto Adam Yahoo Fan Club and all but single-handedly put together Adam’s birthday bash.

I was speaking with her last night and she told me that she’s studied the map that shows where the new location is for the Festival grounds. In relationship to the SpaWatel Inn, according to Glamazon, what was a 10 minute walk to the original concert site is now more like a 10 minute drive. She said that, while the lake is just across the way from the SpaWatel, the concert is taking place on the other side of this very large lake.

So, this is something to take into consideration if it turns out to be true. If this is the case, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Most of us will have cars and those that don’t can certainly catch a ride with someone.

nkd … You can sit on my lap. Smile

  29. tchrsd says:

Seriously people what does Californian pack to visit Quebec in July? I’m used to hot weather for sure but also hate being cold. Really Ron, you’re wearing shorts and flip flops the night of the concert? But what does a LADY wear?? Smile

Will be returning from a weekend conference at a desert hotel/spa the day before leaving for Montreal so maybe I shouldn’t unpack at all?? A girl’s gotta plan ahead. Smile

Seriously people what does Californian pack to visit Quebec in July?

I now realize that the weather/temperature is of real concern for several of you and I apologize for minimalizing it last night.

I can’t always reach two friends of mine that have lived in Montreal for years. I’m going to phone them in about an hour, hopefully they’re home, and I’ll ask them what they think about end of July weather in that area.

If I do get through to them, I’ll let you know what they have to say about it.

  31. luval says:

I would say to everyone don’t worry about the weather. Here in the Northeast I’ve seen 20 degree temperature changes in one hour. Of course we’ll know a few days before any of us leave and then we can plan.

And Ron I was thinking about that 10 minute drive. That’s 5-6 miles on the highway, and much more time on back roads. It really seems far for a small town and doesn’t sound right. I’m taking a boat if that’s the case.

  32. nkd says:

Where exactly do you suppose parking would exist for this festival? Any closer than the hotel?
    A boat sounds good, luval!

  33. luval says:

ok nkd, you’re in! But now I have to be careful who else gets on. It’s gonna be like the Titanic rescue boat!

Clothes, parking, weather…this trip is gonna be a wealth of surprises!!! Adam, of course, will be wearing a recycled tee, jeans (maybe the new skingraft ones..yum) and his infamous wedgie boots. I think he travels light.

We’re all in the same boat! Smile I’ll bring my inflatable raft and we’ll row to the concert. Grin

  35. Ron says:

Maybe some would like to Bookmark this page … weather forecasts for Ste.-Agathe:

    http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/caqc0698

Next to the temperature in Celcius, you can click on “F” to change it to Farenheit. Scroll down to “14 Day Trend” to get the projected 2 weeks weather forecasts and temperatures.

This will, of course, be more useful as we get closer to the concert date.

ETA: When you click on “14 Day Trend” it might show you a graph. Click on “Table” to get the actual temperature readings.

  40. Northern Spirit says:

Re the weather at the end of July in Ste Agathe, chances are you will not need a sweater, even at night, when you are there, but, if you’re like me, it wouldn’t hurt to come prepared. It gets warm here (80s during the day, probably mid 70s at night)in summer. The days are longer up here in the summer, so the sun pokes around that much longer. But also keep in mind Ste. Agathe’s elevation, which is 1214 feet above sea level. We’re in the foothills of the Laurentians. I will definitely be packing a sweatshirt and perhaps a light jacket. That’s all you’ll likely need in the evening. Being by water might be cooler, too. Bring bug spray! But some of us will have some with us anyway.

I’ll have a car and hopefully will find parking near the venue. I plan to be there early in the day, so parking shouldn’t be a problem.

THE concert – possible buses from Watel? I plan on having some drinks
(beer?) at concert venue and would rather not drive. Designated driver
    applications accepted.

  43. Northern Spirit says:

Mosquito Frown info courtesy of Ron, who has friends that have been in that area before.

I probably won’t be drinking at the venue, so feel free to pile into my car, jlurksacto.

so feel free to pile into my car, jlurksacto.

Thanks, this could happen. There will be a pretty good sized group
going from the Watel/area so am sure there will be options.

    Hi
    jlurksacto

I’d love to join you but I know I’d have to use one of those Port-O-Potty’s if I did. Leaving my spot and then trying to get back to it might be a real hassle. Frown

Let’s hope they won’t cost as much as the beers did here when I saw Adam’s GNT. Nice size at 30oz. but my wallet was $11.95 lighter afterwards.
