I had the tiniest Adam moment yesterday…thought it worth mentioning as I really don’t get many. I was driving some people to the train station and I put on the FYE cd quietly, and as the 3rd song started a couple of voices said oh, we know this song, they were from Germany. I got a little bit excited inside knowing they had recognised it….unfortunately an English guy in the car asked who it was and when I said Adam Lambert, he said he’d never heard of him, so that kind of spolit things a bit…
HKfan – focus on the positive! that was a nice little Adam moment- thank you for sharing!
And as to the Englishman – when someone doesn’t know who Adam is, and you introduce that person to Adam, it’s all good!
AL, just had a chance to read the post above – thank you for good wishes re my mother! plus today is son’s HS graduation so didn’t get a chance to read the article until now.
I hadn’t realized that our little dustup in Richmond had made the bigger news – so glad to know that!
Virginia is a very schizophrenic state, actually. Out west, very rural and extremely conservative, think Jerry Falwell and Liberty University. Here in the East, the smaller communities mirror that.
And then there are the three urban areas of the state: northern VA/DC area, Norfolk/SE Virginia, and Richmond.
NOVA can be conservative; lots of politicos live there. But then there is the DC suburb town of Alexandria, very liberal. And the whole area is a moving target as administrations come and go.
Down here in Norfolk/SE Virginia, we have Pat Robertson and Regent University and lots and lots of very conservative Christians. We also have the largest Naval base in the world, plus Army and Air Force installations. Every business gives military discounts…and this is overall a very conservative demographic.
But Norfolk also has the largest Jewish community in the south (Norfolk even approved construction of an eruv a few years back) and there is a pretty large Unitarian Church presence. My immediate neighborhood is quite gay-friendly – lots of rainbows. We tend to vote solidly Democrat here, but Norfolk is surrounded by Republican communities.
And then there is Richmond. Once the capital of the Confederacy, all about state’s rights (code for Jim Crow laws and their lingering effects); even now the VA state govt takes federal money with a sneer and a frown, and sometimes refuses it altogether to make a point. But Richmond is also the home of Virginia Commonwealth University, with about 45.000 students and their faculty (in a city of 200,000) and that mostly liberal influence is becoming stronger and stronger. VCU has extremely strong art programs, some of the best in the country, which attracts students from all over – Richmond is being dragged (sometimes kicking and screaming) into the modern world.
I have lived here for alost 30 years, and the “old dominion” ain’t what it used to be – and that is IMHO a very good thing. Progress on lots of fronts, but there is still a lot of work to do, and the flag in Richmond with the ensuing discussion/arguments is all good.
One thing that is unspoken but I think is also part of the issue: many would still like to fly the confederate flag at the statehouse. That has not been done for some years, but the notion of a flag has special resonance down here.
Sorry if this was too long! Our sociopolitical soup down here might not be as interesting to others as it is to me.
Texas, check your mail on Fansite…
Thanks Oksana – sent you one back.
Kradamour, I’m definitely smarter since reading your sociopolitical post! You are a very intelligent lady (and you would also make a killer “bacon cheeseburger
Thanks, Texas! and thank you for reading to the end of it!

I love that our little community has so much to share with each other, and there is so much “smart and savvy” here. Sometimes Adam is more a catalyst than a focus for our posts and conversations. I think he would be pleased!
kradamour, any update on the UNF gif or emoticon?
Well, we need to combine that with fun and silly too!
I can make simple emoticons and even animated ones but we’ll need to see if eywflyer can add the new emoticon to the WordPress smilies directory for this site.
But we’d all like to see it first!
I know what you did last Saturday, Adam!

Nice!
I have a random question, maybe someone knows the answer.
Why do some artists, Gaga, Kesha, Katy P, Bruno Mars, release song after song after song and Adam only released three? Same with Kris. Is it the record company? Management? What?
dflowers, this topic was discussed many , many times, so this is the answer. Apparently releasing song on the radio for less known artist is quite expensive for the label, and unless they are 100% sure it will not flop, they never go for more than 3 songs.
The artists that you mentioned will be played on the radio no matter what, that the nature of the beast. No push by label is necessary. That’s why we get so many songs from them, if song flops (Judas) managment is releasing the next song.
LOL…. The boy is always entertaining!
dflowers…wish I knew the answer to that one. Several months ago there was discussion about the exact thing you are talking about. I’m not sure if it was RCAed or Xena & Juneau…one of these places had an excellent article about the music biz and why certain artists get one song right after the other and others don’t. (something about fast-tracking to keep interest up). I’ll try to ninja a bit and see if I can find the article. It was very interesting.
Well I’ll be…Oksana2000…you beat me to it. Your explaination was pretty much what the article I was looking for was about.
Man! those eyes get me every time!!!!
Thanks for the answers Oksana2000 and luval. I kinda figured it was something like that. Katey, Kesha and Adam all came out about the same time so I guess TPTB will take a risk with some and not for others. But then again both of the girls’ song were pretty catchy. I still would rather hear Adam over both of them. That’s why I love my iPod, I guess.
Let me ask stupid question. Is Scotty’s song played on stations other than country? I was reading mediabase thread on MJ’s and this is the impression I got.
Stupid question #2…who’s Scotty?
From mj’s about total adds.
Looks like country radio only so far.
dflowers, thanks for asking the questions about releases – I’ve often wondered that myself. And thanks Oksana for the answer!
Just heard a new song from Jason Derulo yesterday, “Don’t Wanna Go Home”. It’s good – I really like his music alot. But it really made me impatient for Adam’s new music – as time drags on, I’m really hoping he isn’t out of the spotlight for too long. Just can’t wait for the first listen.
By the way … YAY DALLAS MAVERICKS!!! (sorry, just had to get that out of my system
Evening all. Had a wonderful time in Chicago. What a great city. Enjoyed seeing Monte, TJ, and rest of the band. My sister and brother-in-law really enjoyed the show and we met a lot of really nice women.
Just watched NPH and Hugh Jackman duet on Tony’s. I had a really big crush on HJ right after the movie Australia came out. He is so gorgeous and a real sweetie. Love NPH as well. Enjoy for those of you who didn’t catch it on Sunday night:

I can see Adam doing Broadway some day and hosting award shows. He would be absolutely perfect!
Texas, check your mail on fansite again.
Re:Scotty…will he be played on the radio other than country in the future? I understand that country music is big here in US,but internationally…not so much.
AL, my son graduated from HS tonight so I was pretty occupied…I wonder if I could just forward the email from Chunkey with its attachment UNF gif to ewyflyer for review and analysis?
Brother Neil:
http://thinkprogress.org/alyssa/2011/06/13/243018/adam-lambert-and-the-burden-of-being-first/
Kradamour, congrats on your son’s graduation!
Thanks, Texas! Son is upset because they switched his first and middle names when they called him – and it was his English teacher reading the names! – but it was all good. My mom was able to go with a wheelchair, her first big outing in almost a year – so a very good day all around!
I’m a Jason Derulo fan, too – not all of his stuff, though. I love love Whatcha Say.
For this, too, I thank Adam. I haven’t bothered to turn on a radio for perhaps 20 years, except to listen to NPR. All of a sudden I have 5 presets on the car radio…! Love that new Plain White T’s song, “Rhythm of Love”.
adamized, glad you enjoyed your trip to the windy city! That must have been exciting. Looking forward to hearing more details on the way to St. Agathe!
Loved that little article with Neil’s email, thanks for posting. His writing is improving – well, we have watched him grow up by two years since Idol, and at his age two years is a significant change.
Yawn! big day. G’nite peeps! Sweet Adam dreams!
Hmm – looking at the pics of Adam at that Ninja party and thinking – he’s young, he’s handsome, he’s charismatic, he’s insanely gifted, he’s got a terrific boyfriend, he’s making a new album, everyone who knows him adores him, he’s happy as a clam – if I didn’t love him so much, I might hate him. lol
I, too, thank Adam for my renewed interest in other good music (and some not so good, heh). Also like a lot of Jason Derulo.
I think the link below would have been a good and very fitting song for Adam. The lyrics are ALMOST perfect–the exception would be that his friends in LA don’t know where he’s been for last few years. Adam’s friends in LA would know. Listen to these lyrics to The Good Life by One Republic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZhQOvvV45w
ETA: It’s a good, happy song. It just reminds me of him. I’ll probably get tired of it fairly quickly, so it may not have been a really good song for him to record. Could be a fun singalong at a concert.
Exactly what I mean, “The Good Life”

Hi!
For those of us making the trek to Quebec
, I received this email today regarding the Passport tickets:
The postal strike refers to the one that’s currently going on in Canada now.
So, we’ll see. Hopefully we’ll have our Passport tickets in hand in a couple of weeks.
Ron, thank you so much for that update! I was getting worried too!

Check out his new avatar pic, too. If all else fails, I think both Sauli AND Adam could develop modeling careers!

Hello, here is the GNT anniversary post for June 14th:
http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-columbus-oh-061410
Reading through that AO thread jlurksacto linked above, I’ve gotta say it’s pretty discouraging. Six months from now is very close to Christmas, with the album already missing out on Black Friday sales and getting dangerously close to a January release date, which is the absolute worst time of year to drop a new album. No one other than the fanbase buys albums in January, and the sales numbers would likely not be good at all. Hopefully RCA realizes this (I don’t know how they couldn’t), and will push for an early December release date at the latest. Adam can’t afford a sales flop at this crucial point, and going with a January release is just begging for one.
Kradamour, if you can email me at the Site Contacts link, we can exchange email addresses and I can get that unf smilie from you. Then I should be able to add it to the WordPress directory.
With all due respect to RCAEd, Adam didn’t “mention a Fall 2011 release in some long forgotten interview.” He just mentioned Fall in the interviews on the AI finale red carpet (two weeks ago). I want to believe Adam, and seems he’s been working pretty hard, keeping a relatively low profile (for him) – I want to believe he has his nose to the grindstone, so to speak.

Working on a certain recap post for tomorrow
and came across an absolutely beautiful Broken Open video. I was bummed when that song was dropped from the setlist, always one of my favorites.

Wow, it look like Adam’s bb might be doing a modeling gig or maybe some promo for his radio corresponded job?
In that third picture Sauli looks so incredibly much like one of my son’s friends I had to look and check if it was him! Thank goodness his friend is only 19!! ( Crap nuggets. I feel old!)
I’m feeling a little nostalgic. I’m feeling a recap coming.
One year ago today, I was about to lose my mind. I was so excited to see Adam the next night I could hardly contain myself. I had done my shopping. I even bought new makeup and jewelry. I had just the right purse to hold a camera, binoculars and certain things. I had my outfit all laid out so I could dash home from work and change in time to meet my friend for dinner across from the Riverside.
At work, I was positively grinning from ear to ear. That’s not always appropriate, as I work in a hospital with sick people. I’ve always detested the overly cheerful healthcare provider type. We all know what I’m referring to I hope. Anyway, one of my nurse friends saw me and asked what I was so happy about. I just blurted out ” I’m seeing ADAM LAMBERT . TONIGHT!!!!” She laughed like crazy at me, and said she was so f*cking jealous!! I found a closet Glambert that day. Oh Joy!! Someone to flail with!!
I could hardly sleep that night. I kept thinking, the bus is coming. Maybe they’re here. Adam’s in my town.
I know. I’m nuts. I was acting like a teen-ager. Who cares? Then, I kept thinking, in 24 hours, I’ll be there. Little did I know that I would be 35 feet away, with a clear view, center of the over-hanging balcony, with the ( gulp) breathe now, {{{ stairs }}} so close.
Then, that day, I had to stop at the theater to get a parking pass. I saw the bus, right there. Heart beating faster, no Adam, no troupe. I dash in to get my pass. See some fans out there, I missed Adam. He went from the bus to the theater while I was inside at the box office. I missed him by maybe 30 seconds. CRAP!!!
Oh. But, The show. What a night. What a voice. WLL. Soaked. Broken Open. Alison, Ori, fans dressed like Adam at Fantasy Springs. And that special piece of choreography that was seen around the world. The moves that made some very special Glamnation gifs. It was so hot in there, we melted. All my makeup was running. So was Adam’s. Everybody was just Soaked to the Bone. Adam took off his Sleepwalker coat, saying just that! Our brussel sprout couldn’t take the layers. He needed to peel them off. He was smokin’ in Milwaukee!!
But, did you like it Mils??

Afer reading Mils recap I hate to even post as I’m not nearly exciting. OH well. Her saying that Sauli looks like her son’s friend reminds me what I was going to post after she said her husbands middle name was Saul. Well Sauli looks a lot like my first husband. Yes, I’m on the second one, but I spent 26 yrs with the first. Bob was ash blond, blue eyed, tan completion with freckles and almost the same athletic, but slim build as Sauli. I’m short so the fact that he was 5’6″ didn’t matter. The girls all thought he was adorable. I wish he’d had the same pleasant nature that Sauli has. Adam and Sauli are both so Damned gorgeous and likeable.
mils, I can’t begin to describe my “first time” seeing Adam. You did a great job. Funny, having seen him 7 times (not counting the 2 AI shows), I felt exactly the same way before each show…like I had never seen him before. It’s a “WTF just happened?” experience. That one hour flys by sooooooo fast. Even now it’s like it was all a dream.
Hi mils! Hi luval!
luval? I know it’s kind of late but would it be okay to give you a quick phone call? I have something to tell you.
yes, call me Ron!
ewyflyer, I just saw your post and sent you a message from the link.
Ron, good to know about the passports, thanks for the update.
luval I don’t think we should call you Ron. That would be confusing.
kradamour…you are funny. My punctuation was incorrect. Should have had a comma after “me”! Good nite now!
mils Oh what memories! Last year my Mom and sister where headed to the same concert in Milwaukee. She had on her sparkly “Grambert” shirt that my daughter gave her. She was so pleased to see that she wasn’t the only 86 year young person in the audience. I remember many a post at that time wondering what his audience would look like, young, old, women, men, gay? She has a wonderful time and talked about it for months following. Since her stroke we’ve not heard her voice. How I wish I could call her and ask her how she feels on this anniversary. My sister just called and plans on mentioning it to her. She’s back in the hospital with pneumonia.
jojosie Some how I figured you’d pair up with a good looking guy! I agree that Sauli is a mighty handsome lass. He and Adam couldn’t be any cuter.
RL is a b**ch right now and will continue for another two weeks. I will try to get back here as much as I can. I miss all the chatter and news. Even with him being low key he still manages to make news. I miss all of you.
It’s not quite June 15th yet, but the Milwaukee recap is ready to go, so here it is:
http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-milwaukee-wi-061510
This show brought us one of the memorable moments of the Glam Nation Tour, the “stairs” performance of Whole Lotta Love. In addition to a regular WLL video, I’ve included an outstanding edit by lamobsessed. Enjoy!
RE: Sauli – A few weeks ago there was a vid of Sauli (pre-BB show?) showing him as a contestant on a fear-factor-type show. The guts and coolness of the man impressed me – submerged in a locked cage with the goal of escaping before needing help and then lowered, wrists shackled, in a water-filled tank with snakes dropped in for company. Very impressive. This is not an inconsequential man. In addition, his physical beauty and endearing personality combine to make him a formidable personality. Be very interesting to see him develop. He and Adam are both very fortunate in this relationship.
I love your posts, ultimathule. Glad you are here.
Off to bed now. G’nite peeps! Sweet Adam dreams!
Thank you eywflyer for the tour recap pages!
Thank you Adam for that WLL performance!!! That one never fails to put a smile on my face!
UNF emoticon needed here!
