    Ceddies:
riskylady, did you happen to notice the sound of the first word from Adam’s mouth on the Ray of Light soundcheck? Sounds like he say “Um, Mm, Sauli’s comin’ over”.

You’re right, Ceddies, it does sound like that. But, he hadn’t even met Sauli yet. I thought it might be part of Ray of Light, but listened to Madonna and it’s not. No idea what song that could be…but, it would make sense if he was saying “somethin’s comin’ over me.”

We have been talking for a long time about an emoticon for UNF. On our own, we were helpless. So I went to the undisputed queen of gifs and asked for help.
Yes, I took a little spaceship to the Home Planet and addressed Chunkey:

    Dear Chunkey,
    1. I cannot tell you in mere words how much I love the Home Planet. Recently discovered and almost more than I can tear my eyes away from…sometimes because it is like watching a train wreck, admittedly, but usually because it is so much f*cking FUN!
    2. On another blog, we have been fretting for several months about the need for an emoticon for UNF. None of us is capable of creating anything like that. Part lack of computer skilz and part lack of creativity.
    3. And then I thought, “Home Planet has AWESOME emoticons! I wonder how they came to be?”
    4. And so this contact. Could you make, or could you point us in the right direction to make an emoticon for UNF?
    5. We would bow down to your incredibleness. Not that we don’t already, mind you, but we would stay bowed down for a longer period of time.
    Can you help?

    Her gracious reply:

HAAAAAAA. Lemme talk to my tech/gif gal Kat and see if we can find and/or make something lolol

    Today, this message:

I dunno if this will work. I had Kat make this after we thought for a while what we could do that would symbolize it but not be too complicated for her to make…this is the best thing we could come up with. LOL. Sorry if it sucks, we tried! The gif is attatched.

Now the hard part…can I bring the little gif here?… (holds breath):

    https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=0977f6f2cf&view=att&th=13082203132f5cb0&attid=0.1&disp=inline&realattid=f_goti1l800&zw

    Hope it worked!

    ETA: WOOT!
Now…can anyone turn this into a little emoticon that could be used here? (Assuming that we like it, of course.) How do gifs become emoticons?

    Good morning!
Kradamour, link doesn’t work for me. Frown
Where it suppose to take me?

  4. Oksana2000 says:

Ron, don’t get insulted.I don’t care anymore when people try to tell me polish jokes.
We all know that USA is the bestest country in the world, don’t we?

  5. glambotgram says:

Ron I could be wrong but my interpretation of that is, she did it in Canada where she would receive less press than here. Sort of a soft sell? At least that is the way I took it, not as a knock at Canada. YMMV

    Good Morning, Oksana!

    Ron, don’t get insulted.

There’s nothing now to be insulted about as my reply and the follow up comment have both been removed as though they never existed. Typical. Instead of clarification or a polite explanation, if one is not “with the program”, phfttt … you’re gone. OUT!

This is a much much nicer home, so warm and friendly, and I’ll never stray out of the backyard again. Wink

  7. glambotgram says:

I am so sorry Ron, you did deserve a clarification, not a removal.
Come on and I will cuddle with you in that nice spot just above the ear, lots of hair to snuggle down in.

  8. Oksana2000 says:

Ron, I saw your comment on MJ, and I noticed that it have been removed. With Kirsten’s as well. I never know when I’m off topic on MJ’s. That’s why I almost never post over there.

    Good Morning, glambotgram!!

What an enticing invitation!! Let’s do it! Smile

Totally agree with you Oksana. I was never sure about “on topic/off topic” either. One would post about illness, family, recipes or even flying to Wembley Stadium on a broomstick without retribution while others would comment along those same lines and be put in moderation or banned. In spite of all the fun I had in the past, I’ll never post there again.

Good afternoon, June 12th brings us to the anniversary of the Glam Nation Tour show at the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN:

    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-prior-lake-mn-61210

Mlg has graciously provided me with a copy of all the original concert thread posters, so each recap from now on will feature the corresponding poster! I’ll go back and add the posters to the first batch of recaps too.

The tour enjoyed another off day on 6/13/10, so no recap Monday, then more recaps to come Tuesday and Wednesday, including a very memorable performance!

drat. It should have opened a page with the little UNF gif from Chunkey. Hmmm…let me try again. Frown

  15. Kradamour says:

eywflyer, I love your “trailers” of coming attractions! Smile

  16. Kradamour says:

Hmm…the other link for UNF worked for me, but perhaps because it was already downloaded onto my computer. I’ll try again later. RL is busy now off to visit my mother at rehab (but she is going home in about a week! a long year of recovery…)

  17. AL says:

kradamour, so glad to hear that your mother is finally going home. I bet she can’t wait nor can you!

And speaking of progress, I came across this article from NYTimes.com about a bank in Richmond, VA that you may find of interest.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/11/us/11flag.html

  18. dcglam says:

    AL….
As a fellow Virginian myself, I find this article most interesting. I have lived and worked in Fairfax County (northern VA) for the past 25 years. Virginia has always been ultra conservative. I even see this everyday in the students I teach — very much influenced by their conservative upbringings. However, it does make me smile to hear about this bank in Richmond. It is definitely helping to bring awareness to the issue. Baby steps — We are making progress!!

  19. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh. Aaaaah. I feel a special recap coming this week. Maybe it’s on the 15th? Maybe it was near and dear to my heart? Maybe it had a special piece of choreography that was etched on my eyeballs and seared the audience? Causing a Glamtsunami of epic proportions? Traveling all the way to my sweet and somewhat humble avatar?

    I don’t know. I could be wrong.

    NOT.

  20. Ceddies says:

You’re right, Ceddies, it does sound like that. But, he hadn’t even met Sauli yet. I thought it might be part of Ray of Light, but listened to Madonna and it’s not. No idea what song that could be…but, it would make sense if he was saying “somethin’s comin’ over me.”

I’ve heard that part somewhere–the part that he used at the beginning, but I can’t place from where . I know that Sol means Sun in Spanish and Latin, probably has something to do with that. Yeah, he hadn’t met Sauli at that time (so far as we know), it just struck me oddly that it sounded so much like he was saying “Sauli”.

ETA: It just popped into my head. Those few lyrics came from “My Baby’s Got a Secret” by Madonna. It was haunting me. I could hear it in my head. Just had to go find it.

  21. dcglam says:

    Ron — check mail

  22. luval says:

    Ceddies…Hi!

The lyrics “something’s comin’ over me” are from Madonna’s song “Secret”. It’s a beautiful song. Youtube, of course, has many Madonna versions.

  23. dcglam says:

    From Adam….

Hahaha @katyperry your new video for TGIF is hilarious!!

Okay….. I’m off to view this video!

ETA: Adam is so right — the video is hilarious and so much fun! Love it….. Smile

  24. Ron says:

dcglam? I responded to your very thoughtful message! Thank you!

  25. Oksana2000 says:

There is lovely discussion going on right now on MJ’s, about how much Idols are making. I have a feeling that many of the posts will be later deleted, so I’m getting bowl of popcorn and instead watching some stupid movie I’d rather follow the discussion… Smile

  26. Kradamour says:

Wow, Oksana, thanks for that post…I guess…yeah, sort of…went over for a quick peek and the dust in the dust-ups is so thick that even the speculation is obsure. Head spinning now… Rolls Eyes

  27. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Ron, I’m sorry you were misunderstood over at MJ’s – happened to me fairly often, and when you’re “29”, it doesn’t feel very good to be disciplined. I’ve made numerous pledges to myself (of which I always broke Big Smile to stop posting over there, but I just feel compelled to “represent” our boy at MJ’s. Sounds silly, I know, but it’s so competitive over there! I sometimes felt like MJ resented the Adam Gang, but I might’ve been experiencing “butt hurt”, as she accused me of more than once. This is supposed to be fun, right? Smile

On another note, I absolutely love Katy Perry’s new video! She and Russell are just precious – I really hope they’re one of the Hollywood success stories. Smile

  28. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Sorry for so many Smile’s in my previous post!

  29. glambotgram says:

not a Katy Perry fan but that was funny.

Neil Patrick Harris’s Tony Award opening is hilarious. “Not Just for Gays Anymore”

  30. Ron says:

    TexasWannaHoldEm? You are a treasure!

glambotgram!, I’m loving the Tony Award’s tonight! Neil Patrick Harris is brilliant! Loved the opening and his duet with Hugh Jackman!

I think there should be a new category …

Best Male Singer Who Has Ever Graced The Face Of The Planet And Has All The Potential In The World To One Day Win A Tony Award.

And the winner is … Wink

  31. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Aww Ron, I think you’re the treasure. Your posts are always thoughtful and highly entertaining. ewyflyer, adamland and suz, have I told you lately how much I love you for creating this safe house for us?

  32. Kradamour says:

Ron, my dream is one day to see Adam on Broadway. Preferably in Pippin. Grin

Some believe that we put it out to the universe and “visioned” his performance in Quebec this summer. Maybe we could vision him on Broadway! Wink

Discussion on MJ is changing into inevitable Season 8 fan wars. I had to add my 2 cents. Sorry.

Dear Kradamour! Yes for “Pippin”! What about a revival of “Godspell?” or one of Adam’s dream roles in “Jesus Christ Superstar?”

Personally, I look forward to the day when there will be tickets on sale for “An Evening With Adam Lambert” at the Majestic Theater (my personal favorite). Smile

  37. nkd says:

I was watching the Tony’s also, and Ron, some guy was wearing your shirt! Wink

  38. Kradamour says:

Ron, Godspell or Superstar: also good! Smile

Re “an evening with”: last year I spent “an evening with” Tommy Tune. sigh and swoon! I’ve had a crush on him ever since “My One and Only” with Twiggy…

  40. nkd says:

Ron, I did think of you immediately when he got up from his seat! Smile

  41. Ron says:

Kradamour … an evening with Tommy Tune? How interesting! He’s a dancer and not recognized for his singing so I can’t imagine what his show would be like.

Did he do “Put On Your Sunday Clothes” from “Hello Dolly!” and have Barbra join him on the stage? Grin

Now THAT I’d pay to see … Smile

“STRUT down the street and have your PIC-ture took”. LOL

    I’m still going shopping! Smile

But now I’m going to sleep! Early morning. Goodnight!

  46. Ron says:

Early morning and a good night to you too, dear nkd.

  47. Kradamour says:

Ron, the “evening with” was actually called “Steps in Time” and it was billed as a “Broadway biography” of his 50 years on Broadway. (Actually, he has a very pleasant singing voice – rather in the way of Astaire, who sang pleasantly. Clearly not the primary gift, but still talented as a singer.)
It was a wonderful evening – short dance performances interspersed with stories of his life and some song.

I just went and looked up the show, and loved these two Tommy Tune quotes, they made me think of someone else LOL:

“I actually love one-night stops, where you have to go out there and give them everything you’ve got and it all feels new. It’s really good for a performer; it makes you fire on all cylinders,” he said.

“I learn from each audience, and the more time I spend on center stage, the more I learn to feel what they feel. The idea is to lift their spirits and bring them to higher ground.”

  48. Ron says:

Thank you, Kradamour, I’ve always thought of Tommy Tune as being an exceptional talent but I now also know that he’s a very nice person!

Is that too much to hope for … that people be nice, courteous and respect one another?

I guess I live in a dream world where that would be the norm.

But, please let me tell you, that the closest I can come to that ideal, is being here with all of you.

It’s late, I’ll say goodnight and … wake me up when you want to go shopping, nkd. Smile
