Agree that Taylor was my least favorite, I totally didn’t get the whole Adam and Taylor fantasies. Not sure what I didn’t like. Pretzel movements? not really. No opinion there.
And I didn’t care much about Sasha until I met her at various barricades. So sweet and patient and funny and smart and affectionate! I wish her very, very well. Love her tweets.

Am I the only one who is a little bit unnerved about Sauli getting into the social media thing? I really thought he was going to stay out of the limelight, do his own thing and support his boyfriend in every way. But I suppose as long as he doesn’ talk about his personal life…and I’m sure people will ask him about it…it will be ok. But still… I kinda wanted him to be an enigma of sorts.

I agree, luval, but I also think that mils is correct that he has his own career to think of and he needs to be part of the social media. I do hope that he remains firm about keeping it about HIM, and not about Adam or their relationship. So far, that is what we are seeing and it is one of the things many of us like best about him. It is nice to get to know Sauli a little bit, at least superficially, on twitter, and I think that he is learning from one of the best – Adam was even part of that panel discussion as being particulary savvy – and will get good guidance from him.

    3) Speech/Voice specialist. My real life vocation. Could come in very handy.

mils another job for you, to decipher all of our unintelligible mumblings as we watch BB in action. UNF indeed.

  3. cwm says:

YAY! I’m happy to report that my signed Charity:Water photo finally arrived today! It is indeed a thing of beauty. Razz {Kradamour, have you figured out an emoticon for UNF yet??} Comes with a sweet little thank-you note from Adam, too. So glad to finally have it — it made my day to see it in the mailbox when I got home.

For those of you still waiting, look for a hand-addressed envelope from 19 Entertainment.

  4. cwm says:

    I love Sasha. I think she’s adorable, and she is an outstanding dancer. So fluid, so passionate, so precise. I hope she does really really well on SYTYCD. Of the GNT dancers, I really liked Terrance, Sasha, and Brooke — all 3 gorgeous, beautiful, graceful, fluid, sexy dancers. Taylor not so much – he just didn’t do anything for me as a dancer and I didn’t much like his weird faces that he would make. {Sorry Taylor}

  5. cwm says:

turquoisewaters — Thanks for posting that extended video of Adam at the season 8 finale post-show. It was fun to watch Adam and Paula interacting.

CNN must be posting a bunch of their raw footage, because here is a new posting of all of the raw footage from Adam’s visit to Belvedere Middle School on behalf of Donor’s Choose last Feb (2010):

    http://bit.ly/k8qqGB

Also, did you guys see this? From RCAEd at AO: “it’s very likely that Adam’s next LP will be made available on vinyl thru the AO store” That would be so cool!!

And yet another treat — more high-quality pics from the Russia Maxidrome concert:

Adam on vinyl? Oh. MY. Gawd. Vinyl is coming back, my kids are all over it. Scrounge estate sales and flea markets, etc. I still have a lot of my old records, and even my parents old records ( Elvis, Belafonte, and opera and show tunes for them, classic rock and some soundtracks for me, well, to be honest, I also have my Partridge Family and Donny Osmond and Jackson 5 stuff.)I lost my Rocky Horror record somewhere between college and real life though. Shit. But, I still have my Cabaret soundtrack record. And Rumors. Possibly the best record of all time. ( Sorry FYE, you rank very high for me, but Rumors still is so frigging great. )

Is it any wonder I’m a fan of Adam’s? When you look back at my records, and cassettes, Zeppelin, Elton, Bowie, Show tunes, Babs, Babs, and more Babs, Prince, Billy Joel, Journey, Styx, Beatles, Neil Diamond ( lots of him), Bee Gee’s, Fleetwood Mac, so many more.

  7. cwm says:

We still have all of our old vinyls as well. Of course, I never listen to them, but it’s cool to have them. Just think of the full-size album art!!

  8. cwm says:

Ok, this is totally off-topic, but I have to post it because it is so hilarious. Kaley Cuoco (who plays Penny on The Big Bang Theory) on the Ellen show, with a Shake Weight. Hysterical.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9C88Ydagh0Q&feature=channel_video_title

I’m sure we can come up with an Adam connection somehow. *snort*

  9. Kradamour says:

I actually listen to my vinyl, we have a turntable. Also another one that converts vinyl to mp3 files. I didn’t lose my Rocky Horror soundtrack (so sorry that you did, mils!) it is with Pippin and Jesus Christ Superstar and Tiny Tim and Paul Revere and the Raiders and Joni Mitchell and Francoise Hardy and Michel Sardou and early keyboard music (I studied harpsichord in college) and Renaissance choral music and Simon and Garfunkel and Pentangle and Cat Stevens and Cher.
Note that there is almost no rock music in my assortment except maybe (sort of) Paul Revere and the Raiders. Didn’t like it then, don’t like it now. So when y’all are going on about rock Adam, I just step back and let you flail and wait until it is over LOL. Like Adam says, there is something for everyone!

There was a vinyl album released by someone who I think was a former idol? record called Heartbreak on Vinyl by Blake someone, I like it a lot and bought it last year.

  10. Kradamour says:

cwm, great news re the photo! I had all but forgotten about it. A ncie surprise to look forward to.

I might just have an UNF emoticon for us in a little while…if it happens, I’ll reveal the source! (not me, alas, I am html challenged…)

  11. nkd says:

I’m not sure what I will do with Adam on vinyl, but gosh dog, if they release it, I will buy!
I don’t have anything to play vinyl on. I’m ashamed to admit that we have greatly mistreated out vinyl albums by leaving them in a box in the attic. I’m sure they are well warped by now!

  12. Kradamour says:

Just think of the full-size album art

    Oooo, mesmereyesbabyeyes!
I do miss album art, liner notes…paper sleeves inside the cardboard ones…
I would love Adam on vinyl. Or (for an eccentric keepsake) on an 8-track tape. Or anything at all!

BTW, we also have a victrola and lots of ancient 78s. So fun!

  13. Kradamour says:

I’m ashamed to admit that we have greatly mistreated out vinyl albums by leaving them in a box in the attic. I’m sure they are well warped by now!

Maybe not! The ideal way to store them is upright, packed tightly. But even a warp is okay if you aren’t looking for super high fidelity.

  14. nkd says:

cwm, you brought such a trove of goodies today!
The picture news is exciting! Hopefully we will all be getting ours soon!
Shake weight! So funny! I’m sure we could make that about Adam if we tried! Wink

kradamour, I don’t even have a turntable! Certainly not hifi!

  16. ultimathule says:

Had admiration for Taylor ever since he tried to pull Adam away from the pap on the beach in Florida. Remember Eber sent his thanks to him.
With regard to Sauli – he has expressed (in an interview) his loneliness in being away from his family and friends since he did not know anyone in LA. He was, apparently, fairly well known in Finland, worked, had his own apartment, and was not dependent on anyone. I can’t imagine that he would be satisfied with simply being an appendage to Adam – the pretty boy on Adam’s arm on the red carpet. For the health of the relationship, I believe it to be of great importance that Sauli establish his own identity. His private life with Adam, however, should remain private – and I see no indication that Sauli feels otherwise. In fact, he has stated on more than one occasion that it should be so. Joining the social media will lessen the feeling of isolation he must have been experiencing.
That Council Bluffs short vid is one of my treasures. The utter beauty and fluidity of his voice is enchanting.

  17. ultimathule says:

Have hundreds of LP’s, reel-to-reel tapes, cassettes, even 45’s. And, literally, hundreds, probably in the thousands, of books. I don’t dust very often.

  18. Kradamour says:

Loved your post at 12:05, ultimathule. You well and beautifully expressed Sauli’s dilemma. I admire him immensely for taking this risk, for coming to the US for the sake of, perhaps, an enduring relationship.

And it sounds as though an invitation to your house would be lots of fun!

    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-mahnomen-mn-061110

Adam has been very quiet for the past several days, hope he is getting some work done on the new album!

  20. Ceddies says:

Well, I must admit that I also am in the ranks of folks who still own the vinyl–78’s and 45’s. I even still have lots of 8-tracks and actually have an 8-track player still attached to one of my turntables. Oh yeah, lots of cassettes. Conglomeration of artists from Johnny Guitar Watson, Leon Russell, Elton John, Black Sabbath, Ferrante and Teischer, Placido Domingo, Gap Band, Blondie, and some country. I have several turntables in storage; so if Adam goes vinyl, it’s okay with me. But I want him also available in the current formats.

I hope it is okay to post this pic and that it hasn’t already been posted. It came from one of my FB friends, and I wanted to share it.

  21. Ron says:

From the Fan Site, it’s official:

Although Adam is nominated for Most Watched Video of the Year, he unfortunately will not be attending the award show as he is very busy recording his new album! Fans should still tune in to see if he wins! MuchMusic channel (Canada) 9pm ET

Also, I just read on CNN that Selena Gomez was “rushed to the hospital” last night complaining of extreme nausea and headache.

Speculation, of course, is running wild. Everything from migraine to … there just might be a little Bieber in about 9 months! Smile

Her health comes first of course but can’t help but wonder at the same time if she’ll be able to co-host the MM Awards.

If not, I can suggestion someone I’d like to see take her place busy schedule or not. Wink

  22. cwm says:

To bad about no Adam appearance at the MuchMusic Awards, but thanks for confirming, Ron.

Here is an article in Wave magazine about new gender bending trends in fashion — and mentions Adam.

Don’t know if you had heard of this incident: In Portland, a gay couple was brutally attacked for holding hands in public. There were plenty of people around, but they didn’t have it in them to intervene or call the police. As a reaction, Cascade AIDS Project organized a counter demonstration.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfJHYOsepBk&feature=player_embedded#at=77
I am just as appalled by the bystanders inaction as by the perpetrators actions.
This is why I think Adam and Sauli holding hands in public on the AI red carpet was very significant. People need to see lots of examples of loving gay couples, famous or not famous, in order to overcome there fears and accept that this, too, is normal and beautiful. Not many people are openly racist any more. In the same way, being openly homophobic has to become a taboo. And shame on the parents that cover their kids’ eyes so they won’t see two men holding hands. End of rant.

  24. turquoisewaters says:

That Kaley Cuoco link was hysterical. She was so embarrassed. I’m always good for a laugh!

Good morning.. Oops, my bad, it’s afternoon now. I’m enjoying a very lazy day, and am still in my jammies and eating cereal. So, it’s morning to me dammit!

Anyway. Connect Adam to Shake weights? Did I hear a challenge? (( Rubbing hands together with glee ))

    Here goes:

    1) Adam was in the Broadway touring company of Wicked and knows a lot of people on Broadway. 2)The Southpark creators have a hugely successful Tony nominated play on Broadway right now.( The Book of Mormon). 3)Southpark had a hilarious episode a few months ago about Shake Weights.

    (( Takes a Bow ))

  27. AL says:

turquoisewaters, thanks for posting that video about the Portland couple. I always believed that Portland and Oregon are progressive compared to other cities and states. Portland is a major city with an openly gay mayor, Sam Adams. The state recognizes gay marriage and also supports the right to die with dignity.
I will continue to think that about Oregon based on the love that thousands of strangers showed to the loving, hand-holding couple versus the hate shown by the three cowards who attacked them.

Just dropping in to post this video that was tweeted by Sauli: His sister!!! Listen to her FABULOUS voice, very reminiscent of Allison, just not quite as “smokey.” I am just astonished to hear this bluesy music out of Finland, of all places!

  43. riskylady says:

Love all the lists of LPs, cassettes, 45’s, etc. Yep, I plead guilty to all of the above, plus I must have almost everything ever recorded by Prince on all kinds of media, and some old LPs (Peggy Lee, Chris Connors, Julie London, Sarah Vaughn, jazz singers from when I was a teen) – and Queen, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Sinatra, Tom Petty and many wonderful Latin singers: Jose Jose (AMAZING VOICE), Sandro de America, Trio Los Panchos, Agustin Lara, plus artists from every country and Spain….from my 20 years in Nicaragua.
And, like ultimathule thousands of books, plus a couple hundred audiobooks and digital audiobooks. (I don’t dust often either LOL.) So, can’t wait for Adam on vinyl. We still have a stereo with turntable that can copy to cassettes.
But of all the music I love, there is just something about Adam’s voice, the tone, that captivates me more than any other and I NEVER tire of listening to him. I just listened to Ray of Light about 50 times today while walking. Really, there is no end to this sweet addiction. Can’t wait for Ste. Agathe!! Bring on the eggplant!

  44. Ceddies says:

riskylady, did you happen to notice the sound of the first word from Adam’s mouth on the Ray of Light soundcheck? Sounds like he says “Um, Mm, Sauli’s comin’ over”. I’m sure he didn’t say that, but it surely sounds like it. LOL. Take a listen below. I had to go take a listen again after you mentioned it. Just a coincidence with Sauli’s name.

I will continue to think that about Oregon based on the love that thousands of strangers showed to the loving, hand-holding couple versus the hate shown by the three cowards who attacked them.

Oh my. As the Oregon representative here, I feel like I should say something. I too was appalled by this story — by those who violently attacked and those who stood by and did nothing, and plenty of other Oregonians are appalled too. I live a couple of hours south of Portland. Portland is indeed a beautiful, progressive, open city, and a few ignorant, violent idiots don’t change that fact. Thank you, turquoisewaters, for posting the video of the wonderful counter-demonstration, where thousands of people gathered to show solidarity with the hand-holding couple by walking across the Hawthorne bridge together, holding hands with one another. And the speech that the young man (one of the hand-holders) gave was very moving. Good for him.

Although Oregon is generally a live-and-let-live state, it is fair to say that Oregon is not all of one mind about gay rights. Alas, AL, sadly, our state does not yet recognize same-sex marriage, although we did manage to at least pass a domestic partnership law. There are quite conservative regions and factions in Oregon and there are politically active hatemongers here who have stirred up negativity trying to pass anti-gay legislation. I hope that eventually they will just give up and go away.

Went to my granddaughter’s graduation last night. This morning in the hotel I turned on the television to listen to news while we were getting ready to leave. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Adam lead into the 9:00 hour on Fox and Friends this morning. They played Time For Miracles, and had the title and his name on the upper left hand side of the screen. Yeah, cheap thrill for me. Good for Adam having his name out there until the next album comes out.

  47. JOJOSIE says:

All the talk about vinyl and real(hold in your hands) records made me think about the first record my sister and I bought. It was Perry Como “The Old Lamplighter”. I googled it and found it came out in 1946. I would have been in the 9th grade. We had lots of dance music then as I went to a teen dance every week. Country music wasn’t separate and charted right along with rest. I did listen to alot of what your posting as my children were into music. All three were into choir and drama. Music brings people together and builds memories. Adam better appear soon, as my memory is getting short. What am I saying, I could never forget him.

  48. milwlovesadam says:

That whole Portland situation is so upsetting and uplifting all at the same time. I loved his speech. That should be required listening for anti-bullying campaigns across the country.

    Thanks for sharing it.

  49. cwm says:

Regarding the issue of gay marriage in Oregon, there are a few details I neglected to share. Multnomah County officials (the County that comprises the city of Portland) did begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples for a short time back in 2004. A big ol’ legal battle ensued at the state level, resulting in an unfortunate “defense of marriage” amendment to the state constitution defining marriage as being between one man and one woman. There was a subsequent effort to pass a civil unions bill in the state legislature. That died, but they did eventually manage to pass the domestic partnership law that confers several major rights to same-sex couples, but it does not make reference to “marriage” or “civil unions.”
