but Adamized said it better. Smile

Ice cream bars…I’m waiting for someone to make an ice cream bar like the turtles candies but with dark chocolate. I can make it in a bowl, but how awesome would it be on a stick? LOL

  9. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Hi everyone! I’m a little late addressing the bacon cheeseburger issue, lol. However, I do have some, uhm, expertise in this area. Therefore, I would like to submit the following for your consideration: A burger, sumptuously dressed in swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, mayo, lettuce, tomato (pronounced “to-mah-to” Big Smile, and the very important slice of dill pickle. For those of you residing in the southwest portion of the country, you may recognize this as the “Alpine Burger” (I know, why????) from the Chili’s menu. Kradamour, I’m a healthy, calorie-counting eater as well, but when I feel like falling off the healthy bandwagon, that burger is a great excuse!

I’m really excited about the Much Music news!

ETA: I almost forgot the all important BACON!

  10. nkd says:

    Texas, what’s this “to-mah-to”? It’s to-mae-to! Or ta-mae-ta! Wink

It would be great to see Adam at these music awards events! Smile

  11. Kradamour says:

Ah, the bacon cheeseburger…hadn’t thought about SWISS cheese, Texas, I thought we were talking about the yellow plasticine squares that masquerade as cheese lol.
Okay, I could think about this. I’m thinking bisonburger or grass-fed beef, though. And roquefort, the mild kind, not too much, almost a condiment. Or mild goat cheese. Yes, the goat cheese. Thick cut bacon, hickory smoked, fried to a crunch on the edges, softer interior. A couple of baby spinach leaves and the thinnest possible slice of beefsteak tomato. A couple of drops of sesame oil or a slight sprinkle of teriyaki sauce. The bun should be a crusty kaiser roll cut into three slices horizontally, with the middle slice discarded so that the crust is there, but not a lot of bread. Plate with a few French cornichons, redskin potato salad dressed with a homemade vinaigrette, and end with a fresh pear with a few pecans and a bit of brie. Serve with an unoaked pinot noir, finish with a crisp sancerre to serve with the pear.
Okay, I’m on team bacon cheeseburger! Grin

  12. Ron says:

    Hi!

    I just received this email:

Received an Adam Lambert Live tweet that Adam will be at MM Awards and 2 days later at Aussie Awards. AO hasn’t confirmed so I’m only jumping up and down quietly but a bunch of Glamberts are talking about it online so we may have to prepare to stay overnight in tents on Queen West for a night. Ron and I have discussed and we are game.

LOL Yes, I did discuss this but I didn’t think I was being serious. LOL Me in a tent, overnight, on a sidewalk?!?? Smile

    Second email:

Looked up from iPhone and saw news report that wristbands are being given out this Friday. People are already lining up!!!!! Yikes!

What on earth am I in for? Wink

  13. Kradamour says:

Ron, I’m so excited for you!!!!! (You can “break in” the tent for Quebec, get a feel for it in advance…)

You can “break in” the tent for Quebec, get a feel for it in advance.

LOL Well, this going to have to be SOME tent!! Separate sleeping area with private bathroom comes to mind first. LOL

I’m willing to “rough it” but with amenities. Smile

    ETA: Air-conditioning, too! Smile

  15. Kradamour says:

Air conditioning in Canada, Ron? tsk tsk
Tomorrow it will be almost 100 degrees here. That is when one uses A/C.
So you will have to brave, what, 75 degrees? Rolls Eyes

I’ll send you a bacon cheeseburger for strength!

  16. Ron says:

So you will have to brave, what, 75 degrees?

What?! No, not tomorrow in Toronto. Forecast temp. is 96 degrees F with humidex feeling like 103.

  17. Ron says:

Checked the temp. in Ste.-Agathe today and it was 85F.

  18. nkd says:

Adam must be on the move again, causing heatwaves everywhere!!!

  19. Kradamour says:

Really, Ron? Wow. roll out the portable A/C unit.
I was in Quebec City 7 or 8 years ago when there was such a heat wave that people were actually abandoning their hotel reservations even though they couldn’t cancel them. Restaurants were unbearable except for the outdoor dining, which was merely miserable. Our hotel was lovely, but no A/C…my son slept on the fire escape in the back, he wasn’t alone, it was like a NYC tenement…

  20. Kradamour says:

Adam must be on the move again, causing heatwaves everywhere!!!

Good! Looks like I’m off the hook. Grin

OMG!!! I’m in, I’m in o/o/o/. There are two stages, a big one and
the small one where Adam performed last year. People with wristbands go to a
designated area, may not be where Adam will appear. So excited!! Wonder if he
will be performing, or perhaps his votes are so ahead that they already told him
he’s gonna get an Award, SQUEEEEE . I remember someone said MMVA doesn’t have
the same artists performing two years in a row, who said that?

Dear Sonia can now camp out with TLKC! I’ll look for them on TV. Wink

  26. asifclueless says:

You’re always so sweet, asif! I’d definitely go if you were going to be there!

It’s absolute madness, though! Thousands and thousands of people crammed together, shoulder to shoulder within 3 (I think) city blocks. I wish you ALL could see the show, though. Last years broadcast was one of the best award shows that I’ve ever seen. No kidding! Cameras were mounted on gigantic cranes that would show overhead shots of the mass of people and then swoop down and over the crowds to show who was entering onstage. Production values were very impressive.

I just saw Adam the night before in GNT, not that I wouldn’t have liked to see him again, but I remember being glad to watch it from the comfort of my living room. Smile

  28. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

nkd, some folks around here call it a “tomater”, haha! And Kradamour, your version of a bacon cheeseburger sounds divine – why don’t you make me one too Smile. Regarding the little yellow plasticine squares that masquerade as cheese – my family calls this “melted raincoat” (especially the version that is melted and poured over tortilla chips – voila! Nachos!)

  29. milwlovesadam says:

Off topic, but, did anybody watch Frenchie on the Voice tonight? I remember how she was booted off Idol because she was a telephone “operator.” She did have some success on Broadway and performing and recording. She talked about waiting 10 years for this. She was obviously referring to her Idol boot. Gerl has some serious pipes.

  30. Kradamour says:

OMG “melted raincoat” too funny! but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat it again without thinking of that! I don’t use it for much, but I do like one slice of it on a grilled cheese panini with the other cheeses. A touch of Maille dijon mustard, with swiss and port salut. And a glass of Vouvray. And a sliced gala apple with a few root vegetable chips.

  31. milwlovesadam says:

Oh, and BTW, I just can’t resist. The whole Weiner’s weiner fiasco has a new local twist for me. His special twitter friend is from here. And is a grad of my kid’s High School. Everybody here is talking about it. It’s all over local news. Just think, our very own Monica Lewinsky. I’m so proud. LOL.

Hey, if everybody here can talk about bacon cheeseburgers, then I can talk about Weiner (s).

I’m going to the corner now. Don’t be skerred.

  32. Kradamour says:

I remember how she was booted off Idol because she was a telephone “operator.”

    Huh?

  33. Ron says:

Oh, you know Kradamour … “Hi, my name’s Tiffany. Want to know what I’m wearing?” Grin

Actually, I thought Frenchie was taken off Idol because of nude online photos.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

Kradam, she was a phone sex gal. She did that to pay bills while trying to make ends meet and sing. They booted her off on a morals clause. It was big “entertainment ” news at the time. I’m sure somebody here can recall which season, I think it was Taylor’s, I could be wrong. Might have been Ruben/Clay’s season.

  35. nkd says:

I did see Frenchie on The Voice tonight. She does have a voice!
What idol season was she on? Was it season 3 or 4?

    Looked it up season 2!

  36. milwlovesadam says:

Hi Ron. Are you saying that you can see the Much Music show in Canada from your humble abode?

Umm. Can we all come for a visit? I’ll bring a lovely gift. ( Can you sense the bribe?) Just tell your partner that a few friends are coming over for a few minutes, it’s no big deal….

  37. Kradamour says:

mils, I’ve never seen Idol, but this is interesting. Morals clause. Okay…
But I guess I’m okay with phone sex to pay the bills. When I taught at our local university, I had several female students who danced topless or stripped at sketchy bars to pay tuition. Not a career goal, but a means to an end. One of them is a doctor now.
    Is Frenchie her real name?

  38. cher says:

Tried Magnum icecream bar last week..caramel variety. Thought it was pretty lousy especially for the gazillion caleries it cost me. Dove bars are a thousand times better IMO.

ITA adamized. Had one yesterday. Chocolate too thick, the caramel oversweet and the whole thing too cloying. Ugh. Dove is way better. Smile

TexasWannaHoldEm …Yep it’s a best of 3 series now. A real dogfight. Hope Miami can win the next one. lol Dallas was hungrier tonight..or was it Dirk the one man team? lol

  39. milwlovesadam says:

I remember a year ago I was getting so excited to see what I thought would be my only GN show. I was thinking, just 8 days…heck, the whole tour wasn’t even announced yet, there were no meet and greets yet…I was shopping for just the right outfit…

  40. milwlovesadam says:

BTW, before I retreat back into the eyebrows for the evening, thank you all for helping me NOT be tempted by those Magnum bars.

I’m enjoying my Dairy Queen sugar free fudge bar. Amazingly big, fat free, low carbs, and low cal. And very fudgy. YUM.

    ( 10 pounds down. A gazillion to go…)

Hi mils! LOL Well, I can see the show from the comfort of my abode on my TV set. Smile Where the show takes place is only a 15 minute walk from my place. But no, I can’t look out the window and see it. Smile

You’re still invited to come over and watch it with me, though! Or, maybe TLKC is going to convince me to go. I’m easy-going but I can’t imagine sleeping on a sidewalk. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Smile

  42. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, the only way these bones would sleep on a sidewalk is if a big comfy bed was on the sidewalk under me!!!

  43. nkd says:

I watched the MMVAs last year on TV, I think, because I remember the red carpet and Adam’s performance, and him winning for WWFM, and I think it was live. Where did we see it? MTV, VH1, FUSE…?

  44. milwlovesadam says:

Okay, one more totally off topic thing: Watched a thing on HBO tonight that was a synopsis of my fave from last season, then went to HBO for a sneak peek. Gahhh! Six minutes of True Blood!!! Can. Not. Fricking. Wait.

  45. Ron says:

Really, nkd?! GREAT! As I mentioned earlier, it’s a very well done show and, if it’s broadcast in the States, please find the station and post it for everyone.

Yes, the Red Carpet was very well done with everyone arriving in limos. Adam was the second to arrive in this beautiful white (I don’t know the make of cars) car. Smile

  46. milwlovesadam says:

I remember seeing something too, maybe it was just from You Tube then posted, maybe MJ had a thread. Whatever, it was cool high hair, black suit, leopard boots and tie, he had to go while on tour, the duck interview ( long necked blue duck- remember?)So much Adam fun…

  47. Ron says:

Oh, that wasn’t it, mils. Adam’s hair was very long emo. There was some “controversy” about his hair at that time because most of us agreed he was wearing extensions. I just saw him the night before and his hair wasn’t nearly as long (down to his jawline) as it was the very next night. Someone (I forget whom) argued vehemently that he wasn’t wearing extensions but instead had used a flat iron. That a flat iron dramatically lengthens ones hair. Well, not to THAT extent they don’t.

Anyway, hope you get to see this year’s show. He also wore a black suit with boots.

Katy Perry didn’t arrive by limo but instead chose to make her entrance in an Ice Cream Truck. Smile Maybe that’ll refresh someone’s memory? She was doling out ice cream to all the spectators. I think a lot of that ice cream ended up splattered on the street. Smile

  48. nkd says:

I know it was broadcast here. I just talked about it with my daughter, and she remembered watching it with me, and it was live, because it was all a surprise! And we watched the whole show. I wouldn’t have done that on youtube.
Yes, he had the one side shaved and the long emo hair to the other side. OOhhh, the shaved head!

I will look for it, and hopefully it will be broadcast again.

  49. nkd says:
  50. Ron says:

I really don’t mean to keep correcting peeps but Adam hadn’t shaved the side of his head when he was on the MM Awards show. The show was aired June 20th and Adam didn’t make that mistake with his hair until August. Wink
