Adam_Instagram-Sweden

Adam starts off August down under in Australia and New Zealand as he continues his global promotion for his new album. TV performances on The Voice and the Today Show are followed by a show in New Zealand. Adam then heads back to the US where he will headline the iHeart WSOBV concert. The ESKA music awards is next along with some other European promo stops before he heads (most likely) to England to reconnect with Brian and Roger for rehearsals for their South American concerts in September. And who knows what else will happen between the scheduled events!

    Meghan Trainor has cancelled her whole tour because of vocal surgery. Was supposed to be at the NYS Fair in early September in my town. These young people with vocal chord problems are adding up.

    So this young intern here at work saw my Queen VIP lanyard that I wear with my ID & asked me all about it. Believe it or not he knew who Adam Lambert is & knows about Queen but of course didn’t know about any tour.

    I mentioned about the South America tour in September & he’s all excited saying “I’m up for it!!”. He wants to go. It ain’t gonna happen. I don’t even know him! Smile

    Well, I contacted Billboard via a form (which they insist one must use to correct album art, etc. etc. and which insists that the artist or manager do so, but wtf, I left a message anyway – but really, Shoshanna or WB promo should have done it) so I said common sense would dictate that they use the current album pic and not one from an album 6 yrs old from another label. DUH!!!
    I do think certain twits at BB (Jason Lipschutz, for one – remember that podcast?) apply pressure to keep A down on the charts. They have songs on there higher that aren’t even being played hardly anymore, at least on the Miami Top40 stations, and aren’t selling on iTunes lately…..whatever.
    Don’t like them. They are like the TV ratings, keeping a stranglehold on the charts and no one REALLY knows all the secret formulas they use to manipulate sh*t. Grrrrrr. Really Pissed Really Pissed Really Pissed Really Pissed

    LOl, riskylady. I read your post yesterday while Cher was visiting with us in Toronto. Jlurksacto was on the phone and I told him “Yikes! risky contacted BB to complain about the photo they are using!” We were wondering how feisty your message was. Cher says you are feisty in person, too!

    Bought tickets to the ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball!

    It was a hard decision, being that it is so far away (20 minute drive from our house) but along with firstimerob we will be there.
    I do think it is the duty of all we California Glamberts to attend this event.ROTFL It will be more fun if jlurks and other are there!

    TLKC, hehe cher knows me well. But I did try to be polite/pragmatic with Billboard. Not that they deserve it IMHO.
    This brilliant article exposes all that I despise about BB and the overly influential little twenty-something twits that seem to run it nowadays. http://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/how-to-kill-the-album-stop-making-sense/
    I know that Adam may be one of the artists benefitting from this new measurement IN THE U.S. mainly because GT is streaming well (not gigantic, but well). And A has almost twice as many followers on Spotify as on Twitter, so there’s that.
    But looking at the frequent posting of iTunes Charts from other countries, TOH is doing much better than in the U.S.
    I do think it has legs, though, and slow and steady will continue.
    In this country, music/radio seems to be dominated by the tween/teen/early-twenty something’s’ taste for fun sound bites (short attention spans and instant gratification rule this generation – they can barely read a book!). Hence, Psy, Bieber, etc.
