With the great news in March, April will be a time to settle in and prepare for the Queen + Adam Lambert tour ahead. We still have one more episode of Glee on April 1st and that will be it for Adam on Season 5. Now it’s back to making new music in Sweden and rehearsing classic Queen songs most likely in England. Lots of work to do before they hit the stage in Chicago on June 19th!

    Watching A.I. tonight. Sad there is no one that excites me the way Adam did when I first saw/heard him. There’s no one I would stay up late to catch an underwater cell cast every stop on the AI tour. Boy-those were the days!

    Can’t help but feel sorry for poor Sam, the young man they are trying to make into some kind of heart throb for the girls. They keep having him perform surrounded by girls (or candles). He has zero chance of working the stage. The judges complain that he doesn’t pick a girl and sing to her, etc. I keep thinking, what if Sam is gay and just isn’t interested in these girls? What if he just wants to sing? He strikes me as very shy (by the way he blushes when he sings), but he does have a good voice.

    I didn’t watch David Cook’s season, but thought he was a good mentor tonight. I could see many of the contestants trying to follow his advise, but the trouble was, they just weren’t natural at it. They were thinking too hard about what they were trying to do.

    I was thinking about Adam’s season, and don’t remember anyone really giving him advice about his performances–except Slash, and he had great advice. Use that lower register more. Yeah. It’s sexy.

    There’s been speculation about Adam singing on the finale, perhaps singing with Caleb or Alex or both. Has anyone heard anything concrete?

    Guess it posted twice. Sorry. I guess one more comment about tonight’s AI. David Cook is also sporting a beard. Is the year of the facial hair about over? Maybe the guys will start shaving when it gets hot outside.

    I know! At least technology has greatly improved so the sound is much better even if we can’t get a clear picture.

    I would rather Adam sang on the finale with Queen. Caleb has a great voice but he doesn’t seem to take the show seriously. I am pretty sure he’s headed for a duet with either Meatloaf or Jack Black.

    Yikes – someone over at Adamtopia wants Adam to play the lead in a Broadway musical adaptation of the Bridges of Madison County.

    Anyone watching The Voice’s current season? So much better than Idol now. Idol has reached rock bottom boring. Check out this lady on Blake’s team. Sisaundra Lewis. Fantastic performance last night. New York State of Mind. On pitch scream. Wink All four judges turned for her in the blind auditions but Blake convinced her to pick him and then he said he didn’t know what the heck he was gonna do with her but they’re doing just fine. Smile

    I’ve tried watching The Voice a few times Cher, but I just can’t get into it……I find its just so much about the judges, and I’m not a big fan of Adam Levine, or Ceelo when he was on….the contestants seem an after thought. And maybe its just the concept I can’t get behind, because it is never just about the voice, its about the whole package, looks, charisma, stage presence, personality, dress sense….maybe thats why no one seems to have made it very big fro there. (apart from the judges)!

    HKfan, not a fan of that drip ALevine either but I tolerate him for the sake of watching Blake. Kiss I enjoy the interaction and sparring between the judges there. Anything is better than what’s happening over at Idol. weep I love reality singing shows. The Sing Off is the best one right now. Pure voices.

    Cher-I love watching The Voice. So bored with Idol, and The Voice is getting so much better talent. This season is really good. Even starting to like Adam Levine! Some friends and I watch it together every week, and have a great time. Music Note

    A musical adaptation of The Bridges of Madison County is indeed on Broadway. It premiered in February. The New York Times featured the male lead just two Sundays ago. It must be getting some decent box office:

    ETA the article says it’s struggling. IMHO, this role isn’t for Adam. For one thing, it calls for a baritone. On top of this, the guy has to be a manly man the nth.

    Now, a more youthful, gay version of TBOMC, with a gorgeous pop star coming through town on an incognito holiday and finding a lost little soul with all the right sensibilities who needs to be rescued from their closeted life. The story has it’s appeal. I can see Adam learning how to fish from one of those bridges. Maybe they could go on a hayride. Who knows?

    FYI, it looks as though the ACC has installed a press box in section 118 for both of the Queen + Adam Lambert concerts. There is a shadowed area right behind row 2, where a bunch of us will be sitting for the July 28th concert. We’ll have to behave. (Like that’s going to happen Grin !)

    Toronto is a huge media centre, with several channels and many shows broadcasting nationally but, you never know, we might see some celebrity comps in there, depending on who is coming through town.

    Just watched Idol videos on MJ’s – Randy lost his job last night. David Cook was AMAZING. My favourite moment occurs in the coaching of Dexter. Randy trailed along after David as he showed Dexter that there was NO WAY he should let another musician upstage him as he walks across the stage during the song.

    With regard to “upstaging,” TLKC – they should stop switching to JLo in the middle of every song (and keeping the camera there) while a contestant is performing. Overkill. (And, yes, Cookie was so good – what an improvement over Randy.)

    No doubt about it, the camera loves J-Lo and the show is going with it. Perhaps it’s because the contestants are not connecting and they are showing her reaction shots to suggest that the performances are more moving than they are.

    Harry is too much, now. Keith critiques the technical as well as he does and in a friendlier manner.

    I was hoping that wouldn’t happen ulti. As perfect as he is for the new job, Colbert is so good where he is right now. The best political humourist out there. Can’t expect someone as brilliant as he is to stay at the same thing for too long. Sigh.

    Sigh. It’s so quiet in Adamland. So here’s a little story to while away the hours. I was in Phoenix for a few days, staying with an old friend I haven’t seen for more than ten years. Somehow we got onto the subject of Idol and it came out that she really liked Adam Lambert, but hadn’t kept up with him. Of course I then confessed my infatuation and we chatted about him for a bit, and I showed her this website. We were both surprised to discover that we had this fandom in common!
    Then last night someone here put up a link to the Winstar version of Lay Me Down, which I had never seen/heard and I sent it to her. Here’s her reply:

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE that song (great dance music).Hadn’t heard it.

    I had the same reaction. I’m glad it’s getting play around the world. Should add a few $ to Adam’s bank account.
