Loved loved those photos from the NNN!!! Can.not.wait to see the vids…at work, I have very limited access to websites. The backup singers…WOW! dying to hear what those voices will add! Getting so excited for a tour…oh, right, album first…tap tap tap…want tour! Now! Live performances! Now, please!!!
Is anyone but me thinking that there won’t necessarily be dancers this time? I am thinking perhaps more backup singers who will provide movement and depth…this music just doesn’t put dancers in my head. Adam had to fill out his first show, because there wasn’t a lot of music, and it wasn’t his music. Just speculating here. I could do without dancers on the next go-round, even though I loved them on GNT. Never missed them at Ste Agathe.
And Adam’s expression in all the pics from NNN, red carpet and performance, is so open and happy! Sometimes the red carpet pix have a very “professional” face, but he is just looking “in the moment” and quietly delighted.
The pants…whooooooooo! totally wonderful and as someone else said, no one else could wear them! (No, not even Steve Tyler IMHO). The jacket was equally awesome…but I’ll go out on a limb here and say that maybe they weren’t the best choice to wear together. Would have put a shorter, tougher jacket with it to balance the proportions. Dunno. But I absolutely love how we (ahem, I use the first person plural even though I don’t think I could have found them) find the sources for all of Adam’s clothes!
He was breathtakingly gorgeous last night. And Sauli. And the two of them.
Michelle Collins…that martini interview is still one of my total favorites! She “gets” Adam and he totally loves her, and she is so larger than life! together they are magic. Can’t wait to see that vid…thank heaven for youtube…
Love how getty images has a photo devoted to just the ring! Hmmm…it is a big shiny ring on his left hand…doesn’t look like something that could be regularly worn, though, so not thinking engagement ring.

Adam looked gorgeous – his voice sounded spectacular. I’ll wait to make a final judgment, but, like some, would like more (fiercer?) dance movements – he’s just so good at that. This is the first full performance and he’s probably still working that all out. Will reserve judgment, too, on the singers.
Do you think this is what he’ll do on Idol?
Got a better feel for the performance in the second closer video – watched the crowd move to the great beat – yes, liking this.

Good morning, everyone! So much I want to say today, so I’ll start with our dear friend Ron. Ron, your heartfelt, trusting post brought tears to my eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever cried when reading a post from one of my friends here. I’m so very sorry for your partner’s health issue and equally sorry for how you are feeling. I know from past experience that there’s no “right” thing for me to say to you; all I can do is tell you that you have brightened my mood so many times through your funny, clever posts. You are loved by all of us here, and I will think of you and your partner often and remember you both in my prayers.
kradamour, I’m also sorry to hear of your mother’s diagnosis, but am glad that you have a treatment plan that you feel good about. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers as well.
dcglam, I had no idea that your return flight brought you to Dallas the day of our storms!!! I am so sorry – you must’ve been terrified. Thank goodness the airport wasn’t hit by one of the 11 tornadoes that touched down in the area. My daughter flew in from Orlando late the night before – I’m so thankful that she wasn’t in the air the next day. I wish you had known how to reach me – I would have picked you and your daughter up and at least given you a home base to figure out your return flight options. I’m sure it was a miserable experience, but I’m so happy that you’re both okay!
Oh yeah, Adam Lambert!!! Loved the red carpet look – those pants are unbelievable and I LOVE his fashion forward thinking. LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! I’ll reserve judgment on the backup singers for now. I will say that I was instantly reminded of the backup singer in Culture Club – she was a rather large woman of color, and her voice was so rich and beautiful that she became a focal point (for all the right reasons) for me. Maybe just different clothes? I’m not crazy about the robes, at least from the videos I’ve seen. Adam’s voice on Trespassing was flawless. Did I say that I LOVE HIM SO MUCH??

Adam looked and sounded amazing at NNN performance. I could barely breathe it was so exciting. And yes, ultimathule I think a little more choreopgraphy needed–his own or otherwise. But this was the first “standing” performance of this (or maybe not, maybe Jezebel) so he’s still finding his way. Also, backup singers good, but need a better look. But am so excited. Want to go to a few of those spring sing things…but probably not enough Adam on the bill to make it worthwhil unless you actually live nearby. Maybe they’ll be some in Florida!!!
One of top twelve? eliminated early due to not being honest to

OMG you hit the nail on the head. Her name was Helen Terry (I think she is white though) and she rocked. I remember her singing on “Church of the Poisoned Mind” in the Live in Sydney concert.
I know Boy George is not much loved, but I do think he is a great singer, and they put on some fun shows. The outfits alone! I have such fond memories. Can’t seem to get the link here, but it should pop right up on youtube.
First, thanks to Planet Fierce, your kind thoughts on my situation are very sweet and helpful. I’m trying so hard to not let worries of NO money coming in bring me down. Also trying really hard to not eat my stress. Losing the battle a little, but, like I said, I’m doing “Passover Light.” Fish and veggies galore.
Now, even more importantly, Ron, I am so glad that you turned to us for some help. I hesitated just like you to click on post comment and share my situation, but I am so glad I did. And glad you did too.
I find that support comes in sharing. One of the things I like best about this site is the good and mature vibes we share with each other. Oh sure, we fixate on Adam, and his pants, and whatever,( BTW Those black laces are to die for ), but, we all have gotten to know each other as best we can here.
What you are going through is something that any of us who have been married ( I consider you married Ron ) for as long as we have ( 23 years here ) goes through from time to time. As well as we think we know somebody, there are situations where you have to pause and think ” Who the hell ARE you?” or “What are you thinking?” or “How in the world did you think you could do that?”
I guess we feel disappointed, because we expected more, or expected our lives to be different. And, because we have feelings and are capable of expressing them, we hurt. It’s also fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of bad news, fear of the worst. Ron, whatever comes your way, you can handle it. You are not alone, you are a wonderful person. Please believe in yourself.
Who knows what your partner’s reasons were for hiding his health from you, maybe he is like my mother, and doesn’t want to “bother” me. That drives me nuts. But, now the truth is out there. Now you know, and he needs you to help him. It is just harder, too, because you found out in a crisis mode.
On the positive side, for those of us who work in health care, we understand , that if he needed to be in the hospital, he would be in the hospital. The fact that they sent him home is actually a good sign. I hope the antibiotics and breathing treatments help. He’ll be feeling better soon. So will you. And, Ron, the love and devotion you demonstrate are so inspiring. Hold your head high Ron, please don’t sink low, you are wonderful, caring and have a true love. You have so much.
Please let us know how both of you are doing. You are in my thoughts.
Ron I’m so sorry you are feeling sad. You are normally such a bright light on this forum! Of course you feel like you’ve been sideswiped by your partner’s news. But look at the good side – how many couples these days can claim 34 years together. Think of BTIKM – maybe he just couldn’t share that dark bit with anyone. I bet he still loves you just as always. As for COPD, it is kind of an umbrella term for a lot of respiratory issues, and doesn’t have any timeline, so perhaps when diagnosed he decided to look on the bright side and hope that it would not seriously affect him for a long time, and didn’t want to worry you unnecessarily. (It’s sometimes called De Nile; I have some scary health issues but I choose to ignore them and I tell my friends that I live in Egypt!)I’m sorry that the COPD has reared its ugly head now; hopefully the antibiotics will work and he’ll bounce back to health. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and him spending many more happy years together.

likedloved Adam’s look last night!ok, here’s my take on last night. Brilliant! I loved his outfit…red carpet & stage. Loved his red carpet interview…so intelligent. I love Boy George. I loved his backup singers. I loved his performance. Video wasn’t so hot but we’ll get the real thing on Monday as well as youtube I’m sure.
As far as his moving on stage, I didn’t expect hip thrusting or crotch grabbing or really anything suggestive. After all, the performance is for tv. I really don’t think he will do this with Sauli in the audience either. Now his tour…that could be different. But I think it will still be slightly more reserved than GN and IMO only because of Sauli.
Did I say I loved him last night?

Ron I am so sorry to hear about your partner’s major health problem. You are such a kind,caring, giving,generous, sweet and funny man with such a sensitive soul that feeling your vulnerability pains me.Since you really need to be there for him you cannot let that dark depression back into your life. We won’t let it! Adam and your friends on this blog along with wonderful others in both your lives can hopefully PUU and help you through this. As others said above those strong meds can work so well that he’ll bounce back.
My 82 year old co worker has had COPD for several years and , yes, that pulmonary area is the weak link and she uses a lot of medications.But during this time she has had major needed surgeries (knee and shoulder replacements), bouncing back quickly and more recently a massive infection from another elective surgery that had her in and out of the hospital for 4 months including a bout with pneumonia AND when she returned to work after 5 months she didn’t even look as if she’d been sick; she looked like she’d been to a spa! So chin up, kid! Gil needs you. Your both in my thoughts.And the Duke and I miss you.
Glad I dl’d the two vids – one is gone courtesy of Viacom. Keep watching the vids – the reaction of the crowd – immensely exciting. (One weird thought – what if the confetti landed on his tongue, for pete’s sake – was that a possibility?) As far as movement is concerned, am not in favor of any overly sexual movements – in fact, not a fan of them period. There were things on GNT that I could have happily dispensed with – a good deal of the TJ action for sure. I just love his moving in sync with the music – his whole body gets into it. The vids on Monday will show a lot more, I’m sure. Damn, he’s a fantastic performer.
Someone commenting on the vid mentioned (and I agree with this) that the way he left the stage here with a defiant/dismissive gesture was reminiscent of his ACIGC performance where he threw the mic down as he left the stage.

I seem to remember that quite a few of us thought that at least some of those stage antics had their roots in his frustrations. Adam is in a much better place now.
Could be, but I didn’t think the throwing the mic stand down was out of frustration or anger but rather in keeping with the defiant nature of the song.

I know that I am being too practical, but I think that sitting in them, with the silk scarf on the butt, would quickly destroy the butt-scarf. Love them, though.
Been trying to catch up! Listened to some of the radio promos. I really feel for Adam when some listener is given the chance to talk to him and all they do is hyperventilate and say over and over how much they love him. And he always tries to get more out of them, asking calm questions, etc. but it rarely works. He is so patient and affectionate to his fans…I especially love how in some recent interviews he has been very outspoken about how we have his back, and how much he appreciates such a strong fanbase.
