Wishing I were going to WB, but it’s just too far for a quick trip, plus I’m on my way down, soon, to Virginia for a week’s holiday. I’d just be getting back and would have to turn around and head down again. I’m hoping Adam heads to Canada soon, but I suspect it won’t be until August, at least.
Have a great trip to Italy adamized. Which coast are you going to? When I went to the Amalfi coast a few years ago it poured nonstop the whole time, and we had two hours of blue sky the whole week. I got fantastic pictures of the fog. lol. After that we swore not to return in the month of March. On the other hand, Venice is my favorite city and I even loved it in the snow in February during the Carnivale. Anywhere in Italy should be gorgeous in late April. Enjoy.

Unless I’m using the wrong terminology, which is entirely possible(!), it’s the day a song is officially sent to radio for adds. That’s what I meant when I was using the fancy words, anyway–LOL! I mean, I’m sure the stations all already have the single and I think a couple have already added it, but I was wondering if an official date had yet been announced. With BTIKM, the single was released before Christmas, but the official adds date wasn’t until the third week of January. I think it was an unusual circumstance that there was so much time between the single being available for purchase and the radio adds date, but I also think that might have been part of the reason radio was so slow to pick up on the song. For me, anyway, it had kind of lost momentum by the time it was even released to radio. I made sure to request it from my local stations, but I would imagine there were quite a few fans for whom the excitement of the release had worn off in that whole month or more that they’d already been spinning the song at home before it was even available on radio. Who really thinks about requesting a song you’re already getting sick of and from which you’re already ready to move on?
I just haven’t heard of an official adds day for NCOE and am hoping it’s pretty soon while fans are still excited about having a new single available.

Kradamour, I’ll be in Virginia May 5 to 10th, at my mom’s timeshare in Spotsylvania. If you’re close by, we should definitely try to get together! This will be the first time I’ve stayed at this place (we’ve always traded it), so I’m looking forward to checking out the historic sites near by and trekking into Washington for a day.

This is what I was talking about a few weeks back with even the snippets. Sure I enjoy the snippets. But I truly wish they wouldn’t release them. They release such a large portion of each song too. Most peeps are not like us, we gotta have them in as many formats as possible.

Thanks for the welcome Northern Spirit and mieps. Yes I,m headed to wilkes-barre for the 25th with my daughter,her bf and my sister. We went to the Kirby last time also. I remember when they started playing Ring of Fire(mind you I didn’t know they were going to do that song at the time, being first show and all),it was an out of body experience! Hope they have better merchandise this time.

Eywflyer was kind enough to set up a separate thread for concerts, which can only be accessed by registered members of this site, so that people can, among other things, make plans to get together. Hopefully, we are going to try and arrange a pre or post concert get together, depending upon people’s travel schedules. Northern Spirit, Spotsylvania is about a 2 hour drive from where I live – but Richmond is right in the middle, about an hour from each of us – and a very beautiful antebellum city, the capital of both Virginia (now) and the Confederacy (during the Civil War). Some very wonderful museums: The Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Valentine Museum (named for a person, not the holiday), the Museum of the Confederacy. Hollywood Cemetery is on the National Register of Historic Places. Careytown is great for shopping, very chic and definitely not cookie cutter. Fortunately Richmond was too poor to be able to afford to raze its historic buildings in the 60s when that was the trend, so there is a lot to admire.
Would you like to meet in Richmond for dinner one evening while you are here? I am also kradamour on the fansite.

Oh, almost forgot to mention. Larry Flick (OUTQ) XM-108 radio host played NCOE today right after lunch on his program where he kind of introduces new music that he is pretty-much in love with. He was singing Adam and Trespassing’s praises. He talked about how much of it is so dancey but that there are plenty of songs to make you feel which is what we like to have, have to have, from Lambert (paraphrasing there). I was about to pull out of a parking spot at a local CVS, but when I heard him making the introduction “This next singer….” it sounded as if he just had to be coming in with an Adam introduction. Of course, I pulled back into the space and enjoyed my moment.
ETA: Larry has always been such a fanboy (fanman?) of Adam. I loved the three/four-part interview that he did a year or so ago with Adam. Adam was sooooooo good-looking in that interview. Of course, Larry got a little outdone with Glamberts and made no secret about the fact that Adam’s fans had almost turned him against Adam. I heard him say that on his program one morning. Glad he’s back on track again. Hope Glamberts don’t derail him again. We don’t need that, Adam doesn’t need that.
I wouldn’t hold my breath. Adam’s marketing team totally does not get the 29 yr. old demographic.

Thanks, Kradamour, for the list of things to do in Richmond! I haven’t had a chance to do my homework yet, and I don’t know when I might have a chance until I get down there, so this really helps. I’ll be with my folks. I know we plan to do one day in Washington and I have yet to figure out the rest of 4 days we’ll have free. Civil war sites abound in the area, apparently, so they’ll be on our hit list for sure. I’d love to visit Richmond and have dinner with you somewhere…but let’s keep it tentative for the moment until I get a better grip on my trip. I should be able to firm things up in a few days. I’ve asked to friend you on fan club site (I’m nothernspirit there, too) so we can keep in touch that way.
I don’t know if it’s just this time of year or this time in Adam’s promotional schedule, but I find it hard to keep on top of all the events and keeping my life organized. Getting up at 3am on Tuesday for Queen + Adam tickets, and all the activity around securing tickets, didn’t help LOL.
ladyh, I was at the Kirby Centre, too, for the first GN concert. I’ll never forget that night. We also waited out by the buses that afternoon (and after the concert). Had a blast.

I do agree with you, Ceddies, that the snippets that were made available were early and long. Most snippets that I’ve seen are around 35 seconds or so. These were well over a minute apiece, almost half of the song. Although I am loving every single second of these snippets, I can totally see your point.

Northern Spirit…. Each year my sixth graders take a field trip to Pamplin Historical Park which is located in Petersburg, Virginia. It is a Civil War campus with four museums, historic homes, and the Breakthrough battlefield of 1865. You may want to check this out. I highly recommend!
Like a lot of you, I became snippetized early on and had to have a fix at least
too manya few times a day. So, to prevent snippet-fatigue, I have decided to quit cold turkey until Trespassing comes out, and will only allow myself to view any live performances that may happen between now and then.But after May 15th, I am going immersion treatment until I literally have to come up for air.
It’s that life-encompassing.

risky and Ceddies, I applaud you! I thought I might cut myself off from the snippets, but not yet! Maybe the week before the album drops so it will seem fresh. Maybe not!
I’m obviously a weak person. I thought some of you had a great idea about cutting yourselves off cold turkey from the snippets and was going to abstain, as well, but it lasted all of 1/2 hour. I think I found it easier when I quit smoking a few years back. They’re just so good!
Snippets: I loved loved loved the youtube “album” that was created from them, but only allowed myself one listen. When the snippets first came out, I listened to them for one day – then cut myself off.
I totally agree that they were too long and too soon…but we were DYING out here! the release was delayed so many times…I think that the snippets were released to avoid mass suicides/heart attacks/strokes/exploding blood pressure/clinical depression/chaos in the streets/demonstrations and riots.
Srsly.
If you have never been here before, Northern Spirit, there is a LOT to enjoy and experience!
I am flexible pretty much the whole time you will be in Virginia, so I hope we can manage a rendezvous in Richmond.

Aww, cato, I’m sorry you can’t come out and play more, but you know your reality. Fighting my shyness is part of where Adam and this group have helped me. We had our 45th high school reunion in 2010. One classmate noticed and made a comment about how I was flitting around and enjoying different groups. Most of them hadn’t seen me since high school. He said “For someone who probably didn’t speak 10 words in high school, you really are getting into this reunion”. I have changed a lot, particularly since Adam came into my life. Lots more confidence. Maybe you will get your miracle too. I do remember seeing you here occasionally. Thanks for sharing. It’s good to know you’re with us.

dcglam, I saw that special on a little while ago, but it never crossed my mind that a portion of the Adam/Kiss performance would be on there. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I know we’ve seen it time and time again on video, etc., but there’s something special about seeing him on our TV screens or hearing him on our radios. Glad you got to see that.

)has been Planet Fierce/Adamtopia where I’m part of the moderator team. But I also really sure miss all the old mj peeps who have come here too. I don’t post on mj’s. In fact I’ve never re-registered since she changed formats. But since the concert threads are gone (b/c they came here!) and the Adam coverage dried up in ttypical “I-only-care-about-the-show-not-the-people” mj fashion I don’t have much reason to go there other than to very occasionally check on Kelly.
Pretty much everyone I care about is on ATOP or here.

I’m sure you don’t remember, but I think you were one of those who tried to help me register and post on Planet Fierce way back when. I never learned my way around there. And for some reason, I can’t navigate Atop very well either, they seem to be set up very similarly. I just post here because it’s like home, and I read every-so-often at MJ’s.
