Adam has apparently wrapped up his US radio promo tour, at least for the moment, as April begins. Above we see Adam as he spent the last several weeks – hard at work with promo. This is (hopefully) finally the last month – for real – before Adam’s new “Trespassing” album will be released. The album is scheduled to drop on May 15. Will we get a second single ahead of the album release date? Will Adam perform on American Idol sometime in the next several weeks? We’ll know soon – in the meantime enjoy the chat!

Hi csesq! I remember you from MJ’s! I definitely want to go to Wilkes-Barre for the concert. So, are you doing the presale thing? When the regular tickets go on sale, I’ll be out in LA so I’m not sure which way to go. Do you live south or west of WB? Maybe we could meet up and carpool. I’ve never gone to a concert by myself before but I know many recommended it during the GNT.

    Hi Sparkle,
I live in northern NJ and I would love to meet up with you. Where are you coming from? By the way, there is no such thing as going alone to an Adam Lambert concert!!! With this group of friends strategically located throughout the US and abroad, you will always find somebody to meet up with. Adam’s concerts are always amazing, but going with uber fans like us makes it so much better!

Since there seem to be several people going from this blog, maybe we all get together for a pre-show dinner. Post if you are going to the show and are interested and we will figure out a way to get in touch. (Cher, you have taught me well!!!)

If I can, I will try for tkts during the presale. However, since I’m not a Kirby member, I will most likely have to get them at the general sale.

Lastly, we should exchange email addresses. Do you have a twitter account? My twitter name is cherylg144. If you follow me, we can direct message our email addresses to eachother.
    Looking forward!

About Underneath, MJ had a write up about Shapiro, and there was a video with snippets of his songs, including a snippet of a demo of Underneath sung by someone very similar to Adam.
The video has since been removed.
And also, at one time a few months ago there was a request on a site for songwriters asking for songs “a la Adam Lambert.” So maybe the guy thought hey, I have this song that I think would be good (GENIUS LIGHTBULB!) and shopped it to RCA/Adam. Maybe they tweaked it a little for him, but he has no credit on it, so don’t think he participated.
But he might have identified with the song immediately and snapped it up, like he says happened with WWFM.

Good Luck Mils with unemployment and the job search. And the cd/dvd purchase.

    on a higher note

LightLovePhoto: ITunes update. NCOE #16 on Itunes Pop. #37 overall. Trespassing #25 overall and #9 on Pop. Go Adam!

  5. riskylady says:

Or, maybe they saw the song request and sat down and wrote this song FOR ADAM. Either way, GENIUS.

  6. riskylady says:

OMG! This is Brian May’s personal blog!!! (Girl runs Twitter for him.)

    Jen Tunney‏@jentunney
Brian’s Soapbox March 2012: http://bit.ly/INqZCB Brian talks about TICKET TOUTING and sell-out Hammesmith Q+AL – looiking at another show!!

  7. AL says:

Here’s the wiki entry for Trespassing (Album) which includes listings of the songwriters and producers.
It may not be 100% accurate though – (shows NCOE as “feat. Bruno Mars”).

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trespassing_%28album%29
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Shapiro

However the song Underneath got to Adam, I am sure glad it did. He may have tweaked some lyrics and phrasing but would not take credit as a “writer” for minor changes like some pop stars have been known to do. Underneath and even NCOE feel like they fit on the album. But when I listen to the snippets in order, when BTIKM comes on it interrupts the flow. The song is fine by itself but feels out of place among all the album snippets – IMHO.

Another concert Riskylady? Wow! I’m already doing 2. Not changing anymore plans for that London trip. What a headache and very expensive. What we Glamberts do for Adam! Sigh…… Cry

I have some extra seats and GA for the both concerts in London if anyone needs them. Cost price of course.

  11. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Is it too much to hope that the third add-on concert will be in the U.S.??? In Love

  12. luval says:

    Hi Ron!

Missed that on Idol. I was upstairs cleaning my toilet.

    I liked P2’s Henley shirt.

    Colton creeped me out.

Jessica the best so far for me. Still can’t seem to attach myself to any of them. Nice seeing Kris Allen in the audience. Season 8 was still the best for me…..

I see Adam will be on TV Friday night:

“The Insider” 7:30 p.m. Friday, CBS; Midnight Fri/Sat, KCAL: Adam Lambert discusses his latest album. (N)

  13. luval says:

Texas…too much to hope!!! Probably another Hammersmith date.

  14. HK fan says:

Cher, is that extra in addition to the ones I want from you???

Just want to say out loud on here that Cher is a gem, and has been a great help over this ticket fiasco to several of us here, and hopefully several of us will be able to get to see Adam because of her.

  15. nkd says:

I agree, cher is a gem!
Good to see that things are working out for the London concerts. I hope you all have a great time, I know you will!

I will be hoping with you Texas! US, Canada, doesn’t matter!

  16. glambotgram says:

Ron yes he said: It was out of my box, but I plan on expanding my box every week. LOL

I thought it was really bad, waayyy too low, and he didn’t hit the high.

Colton was horrible with the Earth Wind & Fire song. bottom 3 along with Alise & Holly IMO.

I have that link on for 102.9 in case they play NCOE again. As usual I’ll probably be sound asleep and miss it.

  19. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Haha, nkd – girls can dream, can’t they? Grin

  20. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

luval, it was criminal what Colton did with September. I absolutely love EW&F – can’t stand Colton! I like Joshua this year, but not enough to call in even one vote. I already found my Idol! Heart

  21. luval says:

haha Texas…Sorry to admit I actually liked Phillip Phillips tonight. I know it was the shirt. Reminded me of this but without the hood.

  22. cwm says:

My views on Underneath: Like others have said, I find this song heartbreakingly beautiful and haunting. The intimacy and vulnerability with which Adam presents himself in this song is astounding. When I listen to it, I get completely lost in it and overwhelmed with emotion. It is so incredibly perfect, I could just listen to it over and over again. The only unfortunate thing about the snippet is that it ends so abruptly that I’m jarred back into consciousness when it’s over.

It’s interesting to speculate how this song came to be in Adam’s hands, but like AL said, I’m sure glad it did, because Adam has made it his own and it’s an incredibly personal, honest, and courageous statement.

Regarding the “beautiful release” lyric – I agree with others here who interpret that line in the spiritual sense. Adam is singing of letting us inside his being, baring his naked soul to us, and, with us still “inside,” feeling the release – a sense of freedom and relief – of not hiding any part of himself anymore. I think it’s a really beautiful lyric.

BRB gotta go listen again. I just cannot get enough of his voice laid so bare.

  23. cwm says:

And now for something completely different…

You gotta go check this out on The Home Planet. Chunkey has once again struck gold, with her Urban Dictionary interpretation of the lyrics to Trespassing. It.is.effin.hilarious.

  24. luval says:

Here we go…A Change Is Gonna Come…Joshua

  25. glambotgram says:

I usually like Colton but not this week.
I thought Holly was really good on her first song. I just do not connect with PP, he reminds me too much of Taylor Hicks. I don’t care for Elise, I know she has a really good voice but just don’t care for her. Jessica was great, Skylar meh, Joshua is good but everything he sings sounds gospel. I am only through the first set of songs on DVR.

None of them are horrible but none of them would induce me to buy any of their music, nothing unique or amazing.

  26. luval says:

Well, I’m underwelmed by Joshua. Not just saying this because of Adam’s version. He’s been one of my favorites. I really thought he hit some off-key notes and didn’t sing with much emotion. WTF is Randy talking about? Of course this is my opinion.

  27. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Okay, I’m done with Joshua – leave Change Is Gonna Come alone!!

  28. luval says:

Very funny, cwm. My favorite part is when she called Adam her “Special Snowflake”. Don’t know why I find that hilarious. Question

  29. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

  32. cwm says:

cwm, which night is it that you will be in block 7 at the Hammersmith? rs and I will be there on the 12th, first row.

Ahh! I’m in block 7 on the 11th! That’s too bad. But hopefully we can all connect somehow while we’re in London.

That was interesting to see in Brian’s blogpost that they’re thinking about adding another show since the tickets went so fast. Given that he’s lamenting and apologizing for the scalper situation, I assume he means that they would add another show at the Hammersmith.

It’s so vindicating to see so much interest in those tickets. I saw the post on Queen’s Facebook page about the concert tickets going for sale, and there were thousands of people who “liked” the post. But there were also hundreds of comments, mostly negative, about… well you know the same ol same ol… Queen should hang it up, Freddie would not approve, they’re tarnishing their legacy, who is this guy?, kareoke singer, eww he’s gay, blah blah blah. There were also positive comments about the collaboration, of course, but there’s so much butthurt out there over this! It’s so easy to be negative on the internet.

So when both shows sold out in an instant and they’re thinking of adding a third show, I say “F*ck you skeptics and haters. There are plenty of us out here who think this is gonna be brilliant. And just you wait to see what Adam can do!” Pressure is on, but Adam is totally up to the challenge. He is gonna knock our socks off.

  33. sparkle says:

Texas – I agree that going to a concert with anyone from here is a win-win – hopefully it will work out. And ITA with the idea of having a Q & A concert in the U.S. – probably the only way I could get the hubby to an AFL concert!

cgesq – I’m in Lancaster, PA so we’d have to meet in WB. I love your idea of a pre-show dinner but so far not many peeps are thinking of going ( although since resistance is futile, I know a bunch will be unable to resist!) Don’t have a twitter acct. but I’ll check to see if I can contact you that way with my son’s help. He’s the only one that doesn’t make fun of my AA (Adam Addiction). I love him for that!

  34. Ceddies says:

I watched Idol tonite too. I’ve been waiting for Elise to go home since the first week. Pretty much the same for Holly. Not impressed with Colton. I’ve said before that I think he sounds too much like Kris Allen all over again. Hope that doesn’t help him win. Shock I love that Skylar is from the town I lived in just outside of Jackson, MS. She’s good but just too country for me. Joshua is good, but sounds too common in some ways. Jessica and Phillip are my two favorites; but as someone said above, none of them have made me want to vote.

Also, I wanted to say that my primary physician’s son is in the Idol band this season. He is a guitarist, but I believe that was him playing “fiddle” coming down the stairs behind Skylar on her second song. The camera doesn’t focus on the musicians. I do like having them on the stage with the contestants though. Have they done that in past seasons? I can’t remember and haven’t always watched Idol.

  35. cwm says:

Dang, out here on the west coast I am so out of step with the rest of you! You’re all chatting about Idol performances, but since Idol isn’t on for me yet, here I am prattling on about other things while I try to catch up with the conversations from earlier in the day that occurred while I was still at work! Oy.

    Anyway…

glambotgram and luval — My favorites from Chunkey’s post:

read = “‘to jack off to a porno with or/without subtitles.’ Interesting. But does one really NEED subtitles to enjoy a porn? Come on now!”

trippin = “’to expose ones bottom in front of p.i.g.s aka the police.’ WOW. Adam is really gonna trespass if he fucking wants to eh? The cops try to stop him from doing wut he wants? BOOM! GLAMASS IN YO FACE!”

north pole = “’when one puts his penis inside his belly button.’ So, basically Adam is all…erm…uhh….wait…IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR ONE TO PUT THEIR OWN PENIS IN THEIR BELLY BUTTON?!?! ”

OMG I’m having convulsions of laughter all over again. Laughing so hard I can barely see. *wiping tears from eyes*

Seriously, peeps, this is a post for the ages. You HAVE to read it. Here it is again, for your convenience:

Yes they have, not for all performances, but I remember way back to Kat Mcphee having muscians on stage for “Black Horse & The Cherry Tree”

  37. glambotgram says:

north pole = “’when one puts his penis inside his belly button.’ So, basically Adam is all…erm…uhh….wait…IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR ONE TO PUT THEIR OWN PENIS IN THEIR BELLY BUTTON?!?! ”

I would say if it was possible for anyone it would be possible for Mr. Plenty

  38. milwlovesadam says:

Well, after Idol murdered Gaga for me not once but twice tonight, Country Gaga? Seriously, my ears were bleeding. And, I’m glad you all agreed with me about Joshua. I usually really like him, but, tonight he did not do justice to Change. His phrasing and diction were off. No emotion.

So, I did what you all did and re-visited Change by Adam. No comparison. And I swear, Randy has amnesia. Does he not remember Adam singing it twice right in front of him on Idol and at his LA show?

It’s funny, because the video I watched was already loaded with comments dissing Joshua and praising Adam. Gotta love it!
Anyway, I’m actually looking forward to seeing Kris perform tomorrow. I like his song.

BRB. I’m off to Home Planet for a dose of porn Adam.

  39. cwm says:

LMAOOOO glambotgram! Off to the corner with you!! (where I’ll join you)

  42. milwlovesadam says:

    NO worries.

Man, sad news today. Both Dick Clark and Robin Gibb. Such icons. Like many of you, I grew up watching Bandstand. It was such a part of my life for so many years.

  43. Ceddies says:

I remember way back to Kat Mcphee having muscians on stage for “Black Horse & The Cherry Tree”

Thanks, that was before my Idol days. And it could have been done since then, but I don’t remember. I watched all of Season 8 after discovering Adam. Since then, I’ve been hit and miss–even with this season.

  44. JOJOSIE says:

Long time Idol watcher did cast some votes tonight, but I’ve been having a hard time this year finding a real favorite. I voted for Phil and Skylar. I’m not a country fan but I do enjoy performers and she lights up the stage more than anyone else this year. I was a Taylor Hicks fan and we all remember his Try a Little Tenderness, and it’s so much better than what Jessica did tonight (she was not good IMO). Of course no one can touch Adam’s A Change Is Going To Come. Taylors was the first fan group I was in and the only one other than Adams. He is the only one other than Adam I traveled to see, but only once. The guy still makes me smile and I’d see him again if he comes near me. He has lots of interesting fans and the mix is a lot like Adams. Back to Adam, I’m still in the Trespassing is my favorite mode. I do also love Underneath. I upgraded my pre-order and ordered one for my daughter-in-law who likes him. I hope she puts one of his pictures in her office. She works at the University school of music and what better place to promote Adam. Nite all. Sleepy

  45. Miss Chaos says:

I like Skylar a lot, but OMG that Violin player I’ll take home please, OMG!!! What a sexy bitch!!! He looks like one of the Clark Bros?

  46. riskylady says:

cwm, on the 11th I’ll be up in block 3 row V, smack in the middle. Nosebleed, but the way the theater is configured I think it’ll be fine (and VERY loud anyway). rs will be braving GA that night LOL. Anyway, somehow I hope we can all get together one of the days.

Remember we were discussing the lyrics of Broken English (which I love)? Well, this girl did a pretty good job of typing up the lyrics of most of the songs, but she missed that few words that we cannot figure out from that song, dammit. But I’ve listened to the songs and compared, and she got them pretty damn accurately otherwise.
    http://kathryn17.tumblr.com/post/21268619032/adam-lambert-trespassing-album-lyrics

  47. cwm says:

riskylady – haha yeah, kathryn17’s lyric sheet was the first place I went when you asked about those lyrics. I thought it was funny that she skipped that line — she obviously couldn’t figure it out either.

Everyone else– riskylady and I were on twitter trying to figure out what the lyrics are in the really high part of Broken English. It seems to lead into “Connect connect to us below I know…” Can any of you figure it out?

  48. riskylady says:

Wow, tons of people are leaving GREAT comments on Adam’s YouTube of ACIGC! Moral: Idol contestants, stay away from AFL songs!!! You will never compare favorably.

AND on this snippet YouTube too – plus some straight guys saying how they’ve become fans and love his new music!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzewf7nnCAc&feature=youtu.be
Usually YouTube is a daunting place, but this is glorious!
Makes me so happy, I can just read and bask in the glow instead of having to counteract the BS.

  49. Ceddies says:

I like Skylar a lot, but OMG that Violin player I’ll take home please

HaHa, Miss Chaos. I like that you said Violin player. I only said “Fiddle” player because Skylar is so country–which is not always a bad thing. I’m sure the folks on here who have met me are going like “WTF Why is Ceddies talking about someone else being so country”. What can I say, I live in Mississippi but definitely don’t think it suits me (Underneath). Kradamour had no problem figuring out who was Ceddies and who was luval when we walked out of luval’s house to greet her and adamized last summer. All I had to do was open my mouth. I probably said something telling like “Hey Y’all”. Funny thing is, though, people here ask me where I’m from because they say I don’t sound like I’m from Mississippi–that I have some kind of accent. I suppose it’s the three years I lived in Michigan when I was 8-11 years old–plus I’ve lived in Kansas and Florida. But yeah, I’m a “little bit” country.

  50. milwlovesadam says:

I have a feeling Skylar lights up and moves around the stage because she can move. She wears low heeled cowboy boots. The rest of the gals are in sky high stilettos. They just teeter and try not to fall off!
