Adam has apparently wrapped up his US radio promo tour, at least for the moment, as April begins. Above we see Adam as he spent the last several weeks – hard at work with promo. This is (hopefully) finally the last month – for real – before Adam’s new “Trespassing” album will be released. The album is scheduled to drop on May 15. Will we get a second single ahead of the album release date? Will Adam perform on American Idol sometime in the next several weeks? We’ll know soon – in the meantime enjoy the chat!

As for Idol, if he is scheduled for the 17th, then he and the band do their performance, pack up their thingses and hop on a plane to Chicago. It would be tight for sure!

  2. milwlovesadam says:

Hello everyone – hope the weekend is off to a great start for you all. Smile We have company, so I’m just able to check in every once in a while. dcglam, just wanted to say that your new avi is stunning – great choice!

  7. dcglam says:

Why thank you kindly, glambotgram, asif, and Texas!! Blowing Kisses

Enjoy your company this weekend, Texas!

  8. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Thanks dcglam! Our “company” is actually a buddy of my husband’s – they’re spending most of their time out at the Texas Motor Speedway – NASCAR Sprint Cup this weekend. I’d rather get a root canal than spend a weekend at the races! I, instead, have a dinner date with my sister at Cheesecake Factory later this evening. Party

  9. dcglam says:

How nice that you have your sister right there in the area with you, Texas.
Both your dinner date and restaurant choice sound perfect to me! Razz

  10. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Yes, she just lives about half an hour from me, dcglam. We talk on the phone every day, but we don’t actually “see” each other near enough. This will be fun … now, which cheesecake to choose??? My personal favorite is the Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake. Only problem is I’m usually too full by the end of the main course to eat cheesecake. Maybe I should eat dessert first! Grin

  11. dcglam says:

Maybe I should eat dessert first!

    LOL…. I vote for that!
After all, this is what my students do each day in the cafeteria — ice cream first (before it melts, you know). Wink

Now to relate all of this to Adam…….
    Adam LOVES ice cream!!

  12. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Well, better run – see you guys later! AL, thanks for the crossword puzzle – I’m looking forward to working it in the morning with my coffee! Nerd

  13. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

After all, this is what my students do each day in the cafeteria — ice cream first (before it melts, you know).

haha, those are some smart kids!

  14. HK fan says:

Hi asif, thanks for the shoutout.
I’m still hoping to go and see Adam and Queen, I’ll still be in the UK on those dates. Just waiting to see if I’ll get the presale e-mail on monday that those who had Sonisphere tickets were supposed to get. Keeping my fingers crossed. I’d actually like to go to both shows, but I don’t reckon my husband will go for that!!
All the kids are fine thanks, and sports going well, saw my eldest daughter in a small production of Pride and Prejudice the other week which was good.

and texaswhe, maybe you should just have a starter in stead of a main course, then you’ll have lots of room for cheesecake!

  15. Kradamour says:

and texaswhe, maybe you should just have a starter instead of a main course, then you’ll have lots of room for cheesecake!

that’s always my strategy when I go to a restaurant and see that it has killer desserts…always ask to see the dessert menu first!
    Then the wine list!
    Then…maybe the menu. (Or not!)
    Smile

nekkid, thank you for the link to the gay pride parade article…the timing is perhaps more than serendipitous. Gonna send it to my friend who just dropped my jaw with her new-found gayhate.

And nekkid, does anyone in the family have a durable power of attorney for your MIL? If not, talk to a lawyer. Much easier to have a DPOA than to go through a guardianship hearing.

I think Queen/Adam could still fit into Quebec, but I am losing hope…

Okay, off to start my taxes…

  16. Kradamour says:

BTW, did anyone else notice the back cover of this month’s Lucky magazine? My first quick impression was that it was Adam and Sauli! It isn’t, of course, but it should be. It’s a gorgeous photo.

  17. dcglam says:

Okay, off to start my taxes…

    LOL, Kradamour!! Ummm, April 14!?!?
I have to admit that I love your spunk. I have no doubt in my mind that you will have them completed and ready to go with time to spare. Blowing Kisses

  18. Kradamour says:

dcglam, they aren’t due until the 17th this year – woot! and I work best under pressure…
Thank you for the vote of confidence, though – it’s gonna be tight! (and I need time to work on my novel, too! Smile )

  19. dcglam says:

Hey, that novel comes first, Kradamour!! I’m ready to buy AND read — right now!Wink

  20. sparkle says:

I just checked the Tonight Show website. The Guests and Musical Act are posted for this week but I don’t know how to find out who will be there next Monday. I’m gonna send them an e-mail and see what I can find out although, like Kradamour, I’m losing hope!
BTW, I was listening to DJ’s on the morning show on FM 97 and one actually said the words “sleep when you’re dead”. I so wished they were talking about NCOE.
My son was encouraging me to extend my trip to April 26th so that I could go to the miniconcert. I thought I could stay with my brother. I talked to my mom and he’s going on a trip also so he won’t be home!! Mom was just diagnosed (after about 2 months of waiting for test results) with M.A.C. disease. Anyone know of someone who has had this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

  21. Ron says:

    Dear nkd,

These are words, only words, but behind them are my heartfelt love and support for you and your family during this difficult time with your mother-in-law.

Please know that you are loved and cared for by, dare I say, everyone here. Just as much as we’ve shared in your happiness, we share your concerns and are with you in times of trouble.

I’ll always be in your corner! Wink

  22. milwlovesadam says:

Hi Ron! Hope you and Gil are doing well. I actually thought of you the other night. I had a bit of insomnia, and what was on cable? New York, New York. Liza. I hadn’t seen it in ages. I found it near the end, right where she is performing in her show and singing her lungs out. She’s really something. Cabaret is still one of my top 10 movie faves of all time.

nkd, you have e-mail and fanmail.

  23. HK fan says:

I just saw a link to this on twitter, some great dancing to Adams music, the costumes are brilliant.

  24. HK fan says:

also just realised its april 15th here, so one more month till Trespassing!!!

  25. Kradamour says:

(Ron, is that a new avi? Love it!)

And your post to nekkid is one of the loveliest I have read on this blog. Thank you for speaking for us so eloquently.

    G’nite, peeps.
Sweet Adam dreams…even if we Never Close Our Eyes!
    Grin

  26. Ron says:

  27. nkd says:

dcglam…I also love your new avi! How could I not?!!

asif…I’m glad you like the pics! Let me know what other skillz I can learn for you!

Texas…I’m sure you have finished dinner by now, so I hope you went for cheesecake first! We were too full for some when we went.

Kradamour…Thank you for the advice, and yes, we have the DPOA taken care of.

mils…you have fan mail! Thank you!

Ron…you always bring tears to my eyes! Thank you for such lovely words, they mean so much!

    Heart Heart Heart

  28. nkd says:

    30 days! Grin

  29. turquoisewaters says:

Too much RL, not enough Adam life these days.
kradamour: if I remember this right, your mom has a procedure coming up Monday. My best wishes.
nkd: I wish you strength to manage your MIL’s health challenges.
I can’t believe in 31 days we are going to hold an actual physical CD in our hands. Seems surreal after such a long wait.

  30. adamized says:

Morning Peeps. Taking a break from my dirty, noisy, and all consuming renovation project to share a couple Adam moments. Yesterday in my quest for new materials for the house and for me I ended up at Home Depot; the Mall; and Lowes. At each place I heard Adam on the sound system. At first I thought I was just hearing WWFM but in at least two of the places I also heard BTIKM. It is a lovely piece of music that fits in beautifully with your shopping experience. I almost didn’t feel like shooting myself when after 6 hours of shopping I accomplished almost nothing.

nkd so sorry to hear about your MIL. I recently heard of folks finding pure coconut oil as a way to improve brain activity for alzheimers. There are a couple of youtubes out there. Here’s one that I found really interesting.

  31. luval says:

    Good morning Adamized!

I’ve heard WWFM at home depot before but never BTIKM. Adam sounds so great in a sound system like that. I think it’s very soothing.

Never heard BTIKM on the radio. Frown

  32. HK fan says:

I finally had an Adam moment today, we were in the car this afternoon and had the radio on, which I hardly ever do now (usually have homemade cds or Ipod), when what should I hear but FYE!!!! I was so excited, I think that is only the 2nd time I have actually heard Adam on the radio, and twice this week I saw BTIKM video on channel V.

  33. luval says:

HK fan…that would be my dream to hear FYE in my car or anywhere other than my iPod or home system. My favorite on the album.

  34. mieps says:

Great youtube on coconut oil, adamized, thanks! I used to use it until I heard the negative stories. I’ll dust it off now.

I once heard two Kris Allen songs on the same shopping trip. Does that count? Wink

  35. mieps says:

When, a couple of years ago, my son came home for Christmas break, he liked FYE and put it on his computer. It was such a great feeling to hear Adam’s music coming from somewhere other than my computer. I would stop working to listen to the (soft) sounds floating through the house. (It was even less productive than playing it on my own computer!)

  36. milwlovesadam says:

Nkd, you have email and fanmail.

In my vast experience with Alzheimer’s, the best therapy is cognitive therapy.( Like from a Speech Therapist) There are also medications like Aricept. Mostly, the best approach I have found is to help structure the person’s environment, and provide assist when and where it is needed. Keeping yourself educated on next steps so you are not blind-sided by a crisis ( like a fall, hospitalization or person getting lost, driving mishaps, etc ). Much help is available through local Dept. on Aging, etc.

As far as prevention? Staying mentally sharp and engaged, in diverse tasks is most beneficial. Reading, writing, puzzles, walking, exercising, having friends, staying social, word games, all help keep you mentally fit. Avoiding depression by engaging in activities you enjoy also helps. A healthy well-balanced diet, like a Mediterranean diet also seems to help. Low fat, Omega 3’s, blah blah. we all know the score.

So, I guess all this blogging, reading, writing, socializing, enjoying music, remembering trivia, going to concerts and building memories is good for our brains. Who knew? Thanks Adam. ( Muahhha).

  37. milwlovesadam says:

HKFAN: Thanks for that great video of dancing to Rabbit Hole. I hope Adam sees it. Can anybody tweet it to him?

  38. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Hi guys and girls! Had a wonderful evening night out with my little sis, and yes, we had room at the end of the meal to split a slice of cheesecake (which luckily we both have the same favorite – Fresh Banana Cream – yummo!!). Definitely have a food (and wine) hangover this morning – heading to the gym to help with the guilt burn some calories! Pig 2

Absolutely. That old saying that it is better to wear out than rust out holds a lot of truth. My mother is 87 and amazingly sharp – and she really works at it. Does jigsaw puzzles, goes to lectures, reads the paper every day, watches very little television but does a LOT on the internet, which is also a good way to stay in touch with people as it becomes harder for her to get around, now that she no longer drives. She just got a tablet computer so that she can sit in the living room and skype in comfort. The internet is wonderful for older people, but so many are afraid of it. When my mother was in various care facilities during the past couple of years, every one of them had computers for the residents to use, but I never saw anyone but my mother there. Learning to use a mouse and how to navigate around has been wonderful for her, even though it was very challenging at first. If your MIL isn’t “connected” yet, now could be a good time, nekkid.

  40. Kradamour says:

turquoise, thank you for remembering my mother – and also to those who sent me emails and posts – yes, surgery tomorrow morning. My sister is here from Chicago, and she has herself had breast cancer, so I am putting myself in the background for this and letting her “take over”. She is my much younger sister, and has been wonderful about trusting me with all of our mother’s medical issues over the past 2 1/2 years, but now is her time to shine and my time to step back and allow her to handle things.

LOVED the Adam moments posted above! I heard BTIKM on the radio once in Baltimore, never here even though it was on the playlist of a second-string station for a while. Never on the muzak. Maybe I need to do more shopping lol!

Back to the taxes…best wishes to anyone else dealing with them… Neutral

  41. nkd says:

If your MIL isn’t “connected” yet, now could be a good time, nekkid.

She used to use the internet, email, etc. She has even written 2 books on her genealogy. But now, she had to have someone come plug her new phone in for her. Frown
She does have church activities and a boyfriend! They like to go dancing on Saturday nights!
After seeing that video on the power of music, I’m tempted to get her an ipod shuffle. It’s easy to operate and small. I don’t know if she would use it though, but what music? Not so sure Adam is her style!
Now off to watch the coconut video! Thank you adamized.

  42. Kradamour says:

nkd, our public radio station has lots of small subordinate special-interest stations now on HD radio. Maybe one of them would have music your MIL would enjoy, if her public radio station does the same.

I think I am going to tack up the back cover of Lucky magazine on my bulletin board over my desk. Yes, I know it isn’t Adam and Sauli, but it totally makes me think of them and makes me smile. Good enough while we wait for the CD! Someone above posted that we will have it in our hands…damn, it has been so long since we had new Adam plastic that I didn’t even think about the fact that a new toy will come in the mail soon! Woot!
d.y.i.n.g. to hear the other tracks…!

  43. ultimathule says:

Yes, Krad – the “other tracks.” I keep going back to “Chokehold” – that lousy audio – but his voice – damn – his voice in that song – that last run – chills.

  44. cwm says:

I’m having an Adam moment RIGHT NOW! I was reading through your posts above about hearing Adam songs on the radio, and I thought “I’ll just flip on the radio right here next to me and see what’s playing.” So I did. And literally 3 seconds later, BTIKM started up! Amazing! Love love love hearing this song on the radio! Turn it up!!

  45. cwm says:

Ok, the song’s over, I can concentrate now. That was cool little moment of serendipity! Smile

Speaking of concentration, I have found that when I am listening to the studio version of NCOE, I cannot really concentrate on anything else. That song just totally sucks me in. Between Adam’s voice and the awesome beat and production, I am a goner. I was listening to NCOE yesterday while driving in a city I’m not real familiar with and made a really boneheaded wrong turn that took me back across the large river I had just crossed going the other way. That song is dangerous. I’m gonna have to make sure I’m not operating heavy machinery while listening to it. Wink

*pssst!* My husband walked into the room while BTIKM was playing on the radio and I had it cranked up. Now I can hear him whistling the melody while he’s fiddling around the house. Score!

  46. cwm says:

Did this get posted here? Adam was in the latest edition of Japan’s INROCK magazine.

    Here are the scans:
    http://p.twipple.jp/Vh85y

    http://p.twipple.jp/OVUfC

And here is a rough translation:
    http://www.twitlonger.com/show/gveq0g

Some very interesting tidbits in there about Kickin’ In and Underneath. Underneath is one track that I am really really looking forward to hearing.

  47. luval says:

Why oh why didn’t BTIKM become a huge hit? I know for myself it took literally weeks and then it hit me like a pile of bricks. And the title…remember my confusion when I just couldn’t remember the title? Too many words. LOL!

Guess in today’s music world there is no time to wait for a song to sink in. Either it’s a hit right off the bat or move on to something else.

I pray NCOE and of course Trespassing will make the leap!

eta: and can’t remember if I posted that my brother “complained” that he couldn’t get “Cold as Ice…..” out of his head!

  48. Kradamour says:

Guess in today’s music world there is no time to wait for a song to sink in. Either it’s a hit right off the bat or move on to something else.

It’s like movies, luval. Blink and if it wasn’t a mega hit out the gate, it’s gone. Frown

cwm, that was so cool! Same thing happened when I was driving to the radio promo in DC – I crossed the river into Maryland, turned on the station that I knew was hosting the promo, and BAM! it was BTIKM the second I turned it on! gave me shivers!
That is the only time I have heard it on the radio, though.

From inrock: They went to burning man via a private jet and it was cool

Somehow, this seems wrong. Burning Man in a private jet??? But Adam has paid his dues at prior BMen, so it’s okay. Smile

  49. dcglam says:

I know that the iTunes date for NCOE is Tuesday, April 17. What about the radio release? Do we have a date for that, yet?

  50. cwm says:

I think something was lost in the translation there, Kradamour, regarding the “private jet.” There is a small airport at Burning Man, and some people arrive by plane rather than waiting in the interminable lines of RVs. I think Adam and Sauli just arrived in a small plane, not a “private jet.” LOL I remember Sauli writing about it in his blog – how they were bouncing around in the wind and he was scared to death, but that the view was really great. Smile
