After rocking in the New Year on BBC One, Adam and Queen will be heading out on tour again this month. They will be performing 26 shows throughout the UK and Europe starting January 13th in Newcastle and wrapping up in Sheffield on February 27. And then maybe we might get some new music from Adam later this springISH?! Photos from the Classic Rock/Team Rock.

Oh, and we can’t forget Adam’s guest judge appearance on Idol on January 15th!

Off topic, but my new People magazine arrived today. For all you Cabaret and Joel Grey fans out there, he finally came out. It’s a really nice and respectful article, with lots of pics. He’s an amazing and iconic performer. Of course, Cabaret lives deep in my heart.

TLKC, Ron, I remember our conversation about our shared love of Cabaret on the train in Toronto, getting off at the Queen stop.

To this day, whenever I have a cold, I always think I have “plegma in ze tubes.” That’s what happens when you know every single word of a movie.

What does it say about me that I also know every single Mel Brooks movie line of dialogue?

When Neil tweeted that he was signed into his hotel as Herr Doctor, all I could think of was Young Frankenstein.

I just have to say – I love the zebra stripe shirt with the red tartan pants! I would love to have an outfit like that to cheer me up in the depths of winter. Everyone would think I was nuts though.

I LOVE the album title. As soon as I read it this morning my thoughts were that is so Adam. I can see it as a song title on the album. I too thought it most likely will refer to love or music, those things that gave you a high long before substances.

I have an annual subscription to a Jewish Theatre company in Toronto and this year’s annual benefit performance featured Joel Grey, who reminisced about his life going all the way back to his days as a kid doing vaudeville routines.

He was alternately touching, funny and wise about everything from the depression to winning his Oscar. The Q&A at the end left no doubt about how much and how long he has been loved.

IMHO, it would be very worthwhile to hear him tell, in his own words, what it was like to be a gay public figure in a very difficult and different time.

I wonder if his retrospective performance tour had anything to do with his decision. To get up, night after night, and connect with life-long fans who clearly love you and know that you are leaving a large part of yourself out of the conversation might have become increasingly difficult.

Thanks rs. Bill Cunningham’s videos and photo-montages are always wonderful. Adam has been sporting those looks for quite a while so he is due for some changes now that fedoras, fur-collared coats and modified mohawks have hit main street.

Interesting, both of the articles with Adam’s greatest performances, one with 5 and one with 20, have the AMA’s right up there. One calls it “risqué and memorable”! What is isn’t is one of his better vocal performances. I was in New York at the time and so excited that I would be able to see it live (on TV). I remember cringing while watching it, and not because of the kiss, but because it was sub-par (for him) vocally. Of course, sub-par Adam is still better than the vast majority of singers out there, but I would have never chosen it as one of his greatest performances. I guess that they included it because it influenced what happened with his career later. And any excuse to get it out there and generate more comments, right?!

I saw Joel Grey a few years ago on Broadway on the revival of the 1934 Cole Porter musical “Anything Goes”. It was delightful, but it took a while to wrap my mind around the idea that the cute little old man on stage was Joel Grey that I remembered so well from Cabaret!

For the record, I love the full picture. First, LOVE those long legs. The pic has the strange effect that even with legs folded and squatting, you can tell this is a big guy, a big tall guy. Love it. Love the title too…makes you think about life’s REAL highs as some of you have pointed out.

Zebra shirt with plaid pants. Actually combining different print fabrics is “in” right now. But I haven’t really seen it on the street. Only on the runway…Project Runway.

Still not sure about the title of the album. Don’t want to think about what it may mean. Kinda tired of thinking. It ain’t that deep, right? Looks like it is. I’ll wait to hear the meaning right from the horse’s mouth.

Can you believe Kradamour emailed me not too long ago to say she broke her ankle yesterday????? Crazy. She doesn’t need surgery though but won’t be able to walk for 6-8 weeks and her mom is expected to pass within the next few days. Gosh. That’s tough.
