turquoisewaters: And the high school kids would probably outsmart me! Patience is waning this time of the year! 16 more days but who’s counting. Smile In all seriousness I do love my job and my kids! If they only knew that when my cell phone chirps in class it’s just Adam tweeting! LOL

  2. turquoisewaters says:

Adam sure works those boots! And the mystery ravioli necklace is back, too.
    nkd:

Looks like he’d be hot in all of those layers!

But then again when is he not hot? Are you suggesting he should take some layers off? To nkd level? (Corner, here I come.)

  3. turquoisewaters says:

tchrsd: I have already outed myself somewhat with the infinity necklace. Oh well. I make fun of their Bieber, too, so I guess it’s all fair.

Hello to Ron and nkd.You guy’s are so awesome.I have laughed so much since I became an Adam fan. Some time’s my kid’s just look at me and shake their head’s,but my daughter say’s that she’s glad I have something else that I’m so passionate about so she can have time to do thing’s she want’s without me hovering over her all the time.My son is in his own world most of the time so it’s great that I could get on this site to talk to all of you.So thank’s to everyone for the welcome.

  5. Ron says:

    Good Morning,

One more post about food, okay? Wink

I’d say the menu at Auberge SpaWatel in St.-Agathe offers up some pretty slim-pickings. I don’t see an entree that would distinguish it as Quebecois fare. And, no poutine! Grin

    Soup of the Day

    Appetizers:

Caesar Salad house with or without Anchovies
Thousand baby spinach leaves, pink grapefruit and pecans, maple vinaigrette Porto.
Salad of tomato and beet yellow, white balsamic vinaigrette and bacon, aged cheddar chips.
Melted cheese, diced melon with fresh herbs, white balsamic vinaigrette and bacon. (Extra $ 1.95)
Beef tartare with a knife, salad and fried mushroom match girl in rice vinegar and chives. (Extra $ 3.95)
Interlocking cold smoked salmon lacquered maple, onion rings fried in lemon pepper, mayonnaise, garlic confit. (Extra 2.95)

    Entrees:

Shell poultry, dried tomatoes, baby spinach, mango, olive oil balislic.
Calf liver steak, smoked paprika butter.
Grilled salmon with sauce vierge to orange, capers and almonds.
New York steak, warm salad vegetables, yogurt and fresh herbs. (8 oz. Extra $ 5.95 ~ 12 oz. $ 8.95 surcharge)
Fish’n Chips house tian mashed red onion and beetroot in vinegar, emulsified sauce “style” tartare. (Extra $ 4.95)
10-20 scallops dressed pork belly, smoked fell from baby spinach with lemon, rice with mushrooms and parmesan, balsamic caramel. (Extra $ 9.95)

    Desserts:

    Summer fruit salad.
    Creme Brulee.
    Chocolate fondant.
    Pastry Delight ($ 1.95 supplement).

    Tea, coffee and tea

Tea or Coffee and Tea? In the same cup? Smile Well, that’ll be different. Maybe that’s the one thing on the menu that’s regional. Smile

I’ll assume “Shell Poultry” is Chicken Pie (Shell, as in pie shell) and not ground up egg shells with dried tomatoes, baby spinach, etc. Smile

    Bon Appetit!

  6. Ron says:

Message I tried to post won’t go through after 3 tries. Testing to see if this one does.

    ETA: Okay. Works fine.

  7. Kradamour says:

So Ron…um…what was the message? Grin

  8. Ron says:

    Hi kradamour!

I did a cut ‘n paste of the dinner menu at the SpaWatel to show that it’s simply regular fare with no entree that would distinguish it as trademark Quebecois.

Perhaps it was the “cut ‘n paste” part that stopped it from being posted.

It’s just as well. It was lengthy and seemed like a good idea at the time but my capsulized version makes the same point.

I think I’ll send for a pizza. Smile

  9. Ron says:

The menu must have lost a little something in the translation where the final listing is: “Tea or Coffee and Tea”.

Coffee and Tea? In the same cup? Well, that would be different. Maybe that’s the one thing on the menu that’s regional. Grin

  10. cher says:

Sounds like you all need to get some elastic waist pants to take along.

Great idea Jojosie, I’m definitely going on a diet b4 Montreal/Quebec. NOT! Frown
Al, Ron and Krad are setting me up for a quad bypass. Smile
j/k I’ve set myself up for that all my life. Can’t resist all those goodies.

Adamland, yep, Debbie and I loved those chocolate petit fours. Gotta go get something similar. Smile
Ron, some tripadvisor reviews had said that the food at HotelSpaWatel was pretty good. Lise said they’re doing renovations at the moment. I’d better email and tell her to inform the chef that some foodies are a-coming. Actually Ron, I’ll leave it up to you to do that. No pizza for u. Smile

  11. Kradamour says:

chuckle. Ron, the French menu says the, cafe, tisane.
A tisane is herbal tea… I like your reading of the English menu better, though!
A couple of the entrees (first courses) have maple flavor. It’s a nice menu, though, at a very reasonable price. Table d’hote at $28 CDN

  12. nkd says:

    This is a great picture!

  13. Kradamour says:

What a great pic, nekkid! I assume it was tweeted to Adam – hope he saw it – I think it would have brought one of his big gorgeous smiles!

  14. Ron says:

chuckle. Ron, the French menu says the, cafe, tisane.

Smile Thanks for clearing that up, kradamour. Smile

Yes, it’s a nice menu but I was hoping for U.S. visitors that it would contain more of a French-Canadian flavor, so to speak.

I just mentioned Poutine to my French-Canadian partner and he scrunched his face up and said, “No…just…NO”. Smile I love it. He’s never had it and calls it “junk food”. (Well, it is) Smile

I think it would be better, in a sense, if the menu offered Cretons, (maybe it does – haven’t seen a breakfast menu), Tourtiere, Ragout de Pieds de Porc (avec boulettes) — Please don’t translate that one kradamour. LOL It IS much better than it sounds. Wink And, for dessert: Tarte au Sucre.

Then visitors would know that they’d dined in Quebec. But, the food at SpaWatel is highly rated so whatever we have is going to be good.

    It’s all good. Smile

  15. Kradamour says:

I do draw the line at cretons, Ron, but the rest sounds good. SpaWatel generally has a Canadian guest list, so I think they don’t need to serve what peeps get at home.

(Calling poutine junk food is mild. My son calls it “puke on a plate”. But he loves it!)

  16. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Ewww! I had to google images for poutine over that description, kradamour. Smile

  17. Ron says:

I agree with your son! While it does look as though it’s already been eaten, Smile it’s a kind of guilty pleasure, gooey mess that tastes great. Especially any time after 6:00pm when there’s a full moon. Smile I don’t know why, but it seems to make a difference. Wink

  18. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Now that I’ve done my google research, I must say that poutine looks pretty good! Probably one of those dishes where a little goes a long way (literally).

  19. Ron says:

    Hi TexasWannaHoldEm!!

I don’t think I’ve seen you here at the new homestead. If we have been online at the same time, please excuse me if I didn’t say hello. Nice to see you!

Are you going to be able to go to the Quebec concert?

  20. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Hi Ron! I always check in and have posted a time or two, but I usually just lurk!

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to join you guys with what’s shaping up to be an incredible chance to meet each other, see some beautiful sites, eat lots of good food, enjoy some adult libations, and oh yeah, see Adam! Smile My kids are at the ages where they still keep me on my toes. Our summer is pretty much full with summer camps, college campus visits and baseball tournaments. But once the “official” second tour begins, I’m really hoping to meet up with as many of you guys as possible – I have several airline travel vouchers just burning a hole in my pocket. Smile

Poutine … I should introduce this concept to Texas. We already love our fries and gravy – just gotta throw in the cheese curds. Smile

  21. Ron says:

Sounds like you have a full plate in front of you this Summer, TexasWannaHoldEm.

Very sorry we won’t be able to see you in July. But an occasion will present itself one day and that’s one day that I’ll look forward to very much.

  22. Kradamour says:

Sounds like you have a full plate in front of you this Summer, TexasWannaHoldEm.

It could be a plate of poutine! your kids would love it, guaranteed. I have never had a student who didn’t ask for seconds. Grin

  23. glambotgram says:

Did you guys and gals read The Home Planet today? There is a write up talking about the possibility of hearing a live version of “Pick U Up” in Moscow or Quebec. No rumors basically just wishful thinking on their part but this was in the article.

If he doesn’t do the song in Moscow, maybe he’ll do it in Quebec in July. That would be awesome, actually, since I might be going to that show.

Sounds like someone who is going should see if you can meet up with Chunky, I think that would be a riot.

By the way I saw smeggs had posted there. Does she know about this site, I haven’t seen any posts by her.

  24. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Well, I’m taking a break from trying to watch AI… Uh-oh, poor Haley just fell during her performance. She obviously received the “second” Led Zeppelin approval! Good job – hope she wins.

  25. glambotgram says:

Texas her parents said Zeppelin called her and offered her their songs after they heard her sing House of the Rising Sun.

  26. luval says:

Hi Glambotgram…yes, Smeggs has been here…several pages ago.

Haley was terrific! Her father looks like the actor Michael McKean. (This Is Spinal Tap…many other movies). I actually thought it was him until the closeup. So she fell..it’s those damn spike heels!

  27. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Wow! That’s really cool, glambotgram. Smile I think I remember hearing that Robert Plant’s kids (or grandkids?) helped convince him to give Adam permission to sing WLL.

  28. Ron says:

There is a write up talking about the possibility of hearing a live version of “Pick U Up” in Moscow or Quebec.

Hi glambotgram! Hope that’s more than a rumor. “Pick U Up” would be great to hear Adam do live! That and … “Master Plan”. Hoping for both in Quebec.

  29. glambotgram says:

Ron I think Chunky is just putting it out and hoping for it, said she has waited for him to sing it live since FYE came out.

  30. glambotgram says:

Did you see the stupid interview of Durbin on MTV. He is acting like Adam dissed him cause he was giving shout outs to Haley. He is such an arrogant ass.

  31. luval says:

That MTV interview made Durbin look like a real ass. Like Adam owed him something.I’m actually kind of glad he was asked that question. He could have answered it in a much more humble way. Shows how immature he really is.

  32. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Just one more way Durbin differs from Adam – Adam’s response to such a “leading” question would’ve been much more PC.

  33. turquoisewaters says:

I don’t think Adam worries too much about James’ unfortunate comments – and neither do I. James is just neither very self-aware nor savvy, and that might have to do with his condition. But I love your passion, glambotgram and luval Smile

  34. glambotgram says:

Ok Idol is over and IMO Haley mopped up the floor with the other two tonight.

Adam tweeted about Javier on The Voice and I so agree I picked out Javier as my favorite from the very first round.

Sounds like the gang is rehearsing for Moscow. WOOHOO

turquois I get what you mean and I am also sure Adam does not care, I am just tired of hearing all the James hype and all his self proclaimed greatness. OK moving on now.

  35. JOJOSIE says:

Sorry but I think James is a pretty smart and sometime charming young man. That was his only interview that came off bad and Jim really egged him on. Go watch him on Regis and Kelly or Axess Hollywood and you’ll see a much better view. He was a favorite of the shows crew who said he was smart, quick and a totally nice guy. I stayed off twitter for a few days and actually quit following one of my fellow Adam fans as she was just so over board negative as were afew other Adam fans. I tweeted them that Adam was about love. I remember how we hated how some were negative to Adam in comments. How soon some forget.

  36. nkd says:

    Can I interrupt with this?!!!
    http://twitpic.com/4zhtp3

  37. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Woohoo!!! Those sorts of interruptions are always welcome, nkd! Smile

  38. JOJOSIE says:

I just feel that people are just too negative these days. I was attracted to Adam and his positive views and accepting ways (well his fantastic voice and gorgeous looks helped too)

  39. glambotgram says:

I think we hated that people hated Adam because he was gay, they didn’t give him a chance beyond that.

I don’t like anything about James’ voice or how arrogant he comes across, he makes many comments that show this and I have read and watched some of his interviews.
However I do hope he is able to have a career out of this as I hope they all do.

    nkd Beautiful picture

  40. Kradamour says:

Nekkid you can always be relied upon to pop in with amazingly random stuff!
LOVED this but am wondering how it was taken and by whom. There is a whole series of them on the page. Enhanced by aquariussue, but taken by ???
It looks like Adam is wearing that pink plaid shirt he bought in Paris. (at least I think that is where he bought it)
I loved that shirt before, love it more now LOL.

  41. nkd says:

That pic had to be from the Paris photo shoot. Everything is the same. Clothing, hair, setting…

But wait for what I have now! Be right back!

  42. nkd says:

I’m at High Voltage waiting on a friend to get her tat, and Adam Lambert is right here getting one too!

  44. turquoisewaters says:

    Wise words, Jojosie.
New Tattoo?? Oh dear, now we have something new to fret about.
-Thanks for the Paris shirt link, nkd. I like this one too: http://twitpic.com/4zh9rr

I know! I’m not sure how I feel about the sleeve thing. But…it’s his life, his arm.

turquoise, I love that pic too. I have been staring into those eyes all evening. Mesmerizing!

    Lucky Sauli!

  47. nkd says:

I totally agree! Lucky Sauli! Razz

  48. Kradamour says:

Oh Sh*t! Hoped it wouldn’t happen. Hope it’s not a sleeve! Hate to see him lose any movie opportunities. He isn’t only a rocker, but multi-talented and can do it all. Tatts fine, but may limit Adam’s options…I like Adam’s infinity and eye of horus tatt, but sleeves get too involved and think special meaning symbols can get lost. The colors fade and skin sags in time and doesn’t always photograph well or look good from a distance.Just my opinion..

    Mine, too. Frown
Oh, well. What is done is done. And maybe it is just another small tat, no need to jump to conclusions!

But isn’t it amazing how fast this got out? While he is still in the chair, for heaven’s sake. Rolls Eyes
